NOTE: I'd be happy to hear if anyone has another /quicker system to bleed air out.. If there is one.

Still the best SPORT Tourer out there......without all the gadgets and tech gimmicks.
    Loving mine.

Indeed, even more so now, as there are very few proper (kawa z1000sx and suzy gsr1000gt bit lightweight) serious sports tourers available new.

Spot on there as graham says not many sport touring bikes now had most vfr models the 1200f is the best one in my view .

Loosen drain on pump, pour in fresh coolant, nip it up when coolant flows from drain ... remove upper rad hose & fill system up till rad is brimmed & coolant flows from top hose outlet, back fill thru upper hose, then refit hose quickly, top off at filler neck then run motor for 5 mins, kill motor, squeeze lower coolant hoses to burp any trapped air, brim coolant then run motor again till no air can be seen & till fan kicks in, let motor cool & top up ... job done.

Thank you so much for that.. Its always useful to look at other ways as opposed to the service book, often it can be better.
Thanks again for your input 😊

Hi Graham. I know it may have been a bit of overkill, but after draining (and before adding the new coolant), I filled the system with fresh clean water and added a bottle of rad flush to help clean out the system of all contaminants. I was surprised how much dirt came out. Concerning the expansion tank. I wrongly filled this up to the max line before expelling the air from the system. As you can imagine, this resulted in some coolant spillage through the overflow! Finally, I was advised to thoroughly hose the engine and components down after the work is completed, as coolant is a bit of a nightmare if it comes in contact with painted or chromed surfaces. Take care. David.

Hi David, No I don't think it's overkill to flush out the system, I had considered it, but either time or more likely laziness/cold made me forget.
You're right about a hose down afterwards, although I don't usually need much excuse for a clean. Thanks again.

Hi Graham. Quality advise as usual. Just going through process of changing headers. And during this process it became apparent the original radiator gad taken some abuse from various debris. Good to see an effective way of draining the system. 👍🏻

Hi, Graham, thank you very much for all the videos and tips, I think all VFR owners are very grateful for all your effort! Maybe it is not time or place to ask but I will try, pardon me if is not appropriate. Recently I start notice then after ride when I turned bike off I got few drops from overflow coolant hose, level of coolant is good I don't see any change of level. Nothing is going on when is motocyle ON or when I riding it. Also there are no any changes, starting, riding...all performances are the same. Any thoughts? Thank you!

@@georgenikolic8694 Firstly, let me thank you for your very kind words, it's very encouraging.
As with a lot of these things, it's often difficult to answer without seeing the full picture.
However, if it's any help I too on occasion (not all the time) notice a bit of overflow. If the condition of the cooling fins on your radiator are poor (bashed by stones etc), the coolant maybe warming more in summer, although your temp gauge show excess heat and your fan would run more. I suppose if I had that issue, my first step would be to replace radiator cap.
      I'm sorry I can't be anymore help. 🤔

@@Grahamvfr You are very welcome! Thank you for the quick response! For sure I will start with the radiator cap, since the cooling fins don't have any visual damages and coolant was changed before season. Really appreciate all your help! I will keep you posted, all the best from NYC!

@@Grahamvfr Hi Graham! Just want to share my experience, I changed the radiator cap and even the old one looked very good, of course, checked everything visually that I could when the fairings were off, and the coolant was the right in the middle upper and lower level before I start changing, anyhow after changing I didn't have time to ride it, I just turn it on and wait to have working temperature and fans starts, from the over hose was nothing entire time but there were 2-3 drops from the small hole under exhaust that I never see before, that was most likely condensation I believe. Almost two weeks after I turned it on, there was one drop from the hose, no more, rode it a bit, and then when I turned it off also one drop. Checked the coolant, still on a good line. Everything else is completely normal. I will go on longer ride these days so maybe there will be changes after that, maybe that will disappear or maybe there will be more leaking :)

@@georgenikolic8694 Well firstly thanks for the comprehensive update, I took often get the condensation drip from the exhaust hole, as that's why it's there I guess.
Doesn't sound like anything too unusual going on, let's hope after a long everything is ok 👍🤞.
