For those in the comment section slamming the guy for his abhorrent lack of safety gear, I just want you all to realize that he is wearing crocs, so.....that's all the protection he'll ever need.
The Horsepower is great and all, but what makes these bikes so awesome is the 90+ft-lbs of torque from 4000-10,000 rpm with a 95ft-lb peak at 8750. Have the ECU flash tuned and remove the stupid gear restrictions in first and second and you have an absolute missile of a machine. I love mine, and I plan to keep it for a long while.
Also What makes this bike awesome is the fact many commuters have made over 120k miles on the clock without any mechanical issue. Reliability in bikes usually means its a honda
Yeah, I was also trying NOT to imagine what it is to hit the ground with only a helmet on, but any other gear on. Take it seriously, get some gear when you ride, man, for your sake. Awesome bike, I gotta have one!
Chad Baldwin I have a 2003 VFR800 with the factory panniers, it’s an amazing bike and extremely reliable. It feels rock solid and has great torque. VFR’s smile between 70-90 MPH, they eat up highway miles like nothing. Can they do city? Sure, they’re liquid cooled and have a fan (mine has dual radiators and a front mounted oil cooler) BUT they get hot. You’ll get gooch juice all over that seat in a Florida summer day. But on the highway, the bike will feel smooth and at home. I know you asked about the 2010 1200, but VFR’s are bulletproof highway thoroughbreds. I had the previous gen 2000 VFR800 as well, that bike was worth its weight in gold (5th gen has THE BEST sounding engine due to the gear driven cam shaft. I regret selling that bike 😭). Good luck and happy riding pal!
Remeber when you where a little kid, and you where running around chasing a friend, and you would fall facedown on the ground because you triped over something? Remember that feeling in your handpalms en your knees? Remember picking the little gravel stones out of your skin? Now imagine that same feeling times 100... There is a reason they make protective clothing... nice review btw...
I just subscribed to your great channel...bro I just bought a well maintained but very high mileage (45k miles(( vfr1200f, how long more would you assume this engine may last? More than 60k miles I hope?
I have one and this bike is comparable to the Hayabusa. Get the engine tuned and you're right there with a 1000cc. The automatic is faster than the manual.
Same here. Didn't even think about that until I saw this. Long rides are a little rough laying on the tank. I could probably ride slower too, but na...
Great bike and I love mine, but NO jacket, NO long pants, NO gloves...Hamburger HELPER!! Are you kidding? You're practically Buck Nekked. I was a motorcycle courier in Chicago years ago and lowsided at 25mph on an off ramp with a tank top on. I had just taken my jacket off because it was around 90deg. and 80% humidity...HOT. I'll NEVER forget what sliding down that pavement at 25 felt like and it was only my shoulder that had a few layers ground off. The fun part was the scrub-a-dub with pissed off nurse who didn't want to be on duty on a Friday night and the wire brush at the ER. I can't imagine t-boning an Amish horse drawn cart at speed with no gear. BTW- why would you go ripping past a horse drawn cart anyway? Give the horse some RESPECT!! :)
Yes, yes, and yes! Now I watch all your vids, and mostly refrain from commenting, but all the stupid slow horrid cruisers apehangers irrigation pump engines, make me want to puke, why would anyone want one of those lumber wagons when they could have the starship Enterprise instead?
I live near the beach. It is hot here in the summer. I ride dressed for the beach in the summer. Been riding over 50 yrs, no problems. Most guys who ride gear heavy, wreck quite often.
For those in the comment section slamming the guy for his abhorrent lack of safety gear, I just want you all to realize that he is wearing crocs, so.....that's all the protection he'll ever need.
Yeah, Crocs along with cockroaches and Lemmy would survive a nuclear holocaust
I have one of these. The automatic addition. Really fun bike to ride.
that single side swing-arm shaft drive is driving me nuts. love this bike.
Bought a 2012 type this year. A fantastic bike, had the ECU flashed and it’s even more incredible. Underestimated bike but I find it gorgeous

Had the ECU flashed on my bike as well. It became even better 😁

Great bike I have one for touring. So much torque you can easily shred the rear tyre ✊🏻✊🏻 I also have a gsxr 600 for weekend blasts.
I'm looking at buying a 2010 VFR1200F...It's been 4 months...do you still love yours? lol
Cold engine and you rev it on red?
ECU flash and a new exhaust will transform this into an absolute beast.
What's better this bike or the BMW R1200 GSA?
Are those stock handle bars on that bike?
VicJackpotRider no, they’re aftermarket riser bars. They make a world 🌍 of difference.
just bought one of these in the uk love the looks same colour too.
I'm looking at buying a 2010 VFR1200R...It's been 3 years...do you still love yours? lol
How does this bike compare to a ninja 1000 abs?

I need a bar risers for this Honda VFR1200F, can someone give me reference ? web link ?
Same here. Didn't even think about that until I saw this. Long rides are a little rough laying on the tank. I could probably ride slower too, but na...
Lsl bars from spiegler, or heli bars
Ninja 1000 abs is the sport touring version of the Z1000
It weights 590 LB dry :)
should be 598lbs wet
Official Honda spec without luggage is 589lbs full wet weight.

The ninja 1000 abs has abs brakes and three settings for traction control plus a faring.

+john harris lol this bike is a marvelous machine
Just don't like the sound..Inline 4 sounds so much sweeter and feels more powerful to me
@@wieds98 I myself love the v4s
Surprised you rode that without gloves !
Funny when you say "fast" while passing a horse carriage.
Sounds quite nice too, bit of a nasty growl to it
The stock exhaust is a two stage. The second stage opens up around 5k rpm. When the real fun starts.
ADHD full on. . No protection amd ignore stop signs. love the bike. Its the next in line of 21 bike´s so fare :-)
The petrol tanks is too small to take it seriously
I don't care if people are not wearing gear,it's not my business
Very cool bike
2 fingers on clutch.. 2... not all hand. :D
I want one!!!!!
Nice 👍🏼
And by 170hp you mean 138 right? lol
Nope 170
I'm sure the shaft takes away from it but the engine is 170 hp and like 90 tq
*Rides VFR*

Shorts and a T. 🤦
I just do not get this no gear bullshit. No thank You.

Same motor as the z1000
Not.
+blave549 z1000 and the ninja 1000 abs have the same motor
I thought this thread was about the Honda VFR1200? Totally different motor.
Vfr1200- 4cyl 1237cc v4 direct single cam setup per bank compact configuration
Z1000- 999cc traditional DOCH inline 4 configuration
