So to sum this up, in this tutorial you showed basically everything you can do wrong on doing this job? Overfilling and the way overtightning the bolts? Great!

Think you need to amend this before someone messes up! The torque figures are 12NM for the drain bolt and 8 for the filler plug. Both the washer and O ring should be changed as well.

Always helpful these videos, at least for visual rather than audio. But 2 changes in 1600kms??? I can do 4,000 kms in a week around the alps.

The manual never said to put your bike on the center stand. It also said not to overfill.

Just did my final drive oil change for first time and guess what? - broke the 17mm fill bolt. VFR 1200f 2014. The aluminium filler bolt appears to be made of butter. Also I did fill on centre stand so now worried I have overfilled. If I put it on the side stand and remove the (broken) filler bolt, will the excess gear oil drain out to the required level ? Alladvice gratefully received

The torque setting by the manual book is 12Nm for the drain bolt and 8 Nm for the filling bolt. (I heard you say 35Nm in the movie...?) Fill amount 200cm3

Hi a Honda motorcycle mechanic advised being very careful with the 17mm fill bolt as he had seen at least one which was too tight breaking on being removed. The diff should be drained and filled on the side stand. Thanks for the video.

@@john9251 I have pretty good feeling for bolts but i broke the filler bolt on my Crosstourer. It really doesn't take much.

Hello there. I am planning to buy this bike. There are those who say doing shaft system sound. Does the shaft system more or less sound?

Just did it today... That stuff drains so bloody slow when it's cold... Better do it in summer. The work itself is done in a couple of minutes then. For me it was far not as the oil was like honey at current winter temperatures.
