    Great video VFRMitch. And it looks like you are learning more skills to improve video quality, such as the photos and text that you added. Really helpful! Thanks for all your efforts.

      It’s finding the time to do it ! I’m still working a normal week and can only find a bit of time on the occasional weekend. Thank you for the kind comment. I have a few ideas in mind moving the Channel forwards but it’ll be into next year before the format may change a little. I still have a few garage based videos to come. Then I can’t wait to get back out on it. Stay safe .

    Good tip for you Mitch. Before removing any delicate bolt or filler plug that you are concerned about, put a ‘dab’ of tippex on both the plug and housing to mark their positions. Even if you can’t torque them up properly afterwards (for whatever reason) you can be confident you won’t over tighten them or snap anything off. Also it’s a good idea to rotate the wheel a few times when draining to ensure any oil captured in the gears is allowed to escape. Overfilling can over pressurize the drive unit and cause leaks. I know you measured with a syringe but I’m pretty sure the oil level should be checked on the side stand (not centre stand). As a fellow CT owner enjoying the vlogs 👍

      Thanks for the great tips regarding marking the bolts and spinning the wheel. Due to the access I had to the bike when I did it, the bike could not be moved onto the centre stand to rotate the wheel. All the work and refilling was carried out on the side stand. Thanks for commenting. I’m glad you enjoy them 👍

      Cheers. It really is a simple job. I’ll be doing it regularly now I have some spare oil. It’s a very underrated bike. They’ll never build another with the V4.

      😂 Thanks for the comment. Oils not the easiest stuff to measure accurately so I thought outside the box. Seems like a decent idea I hope.

    Remember to anneal both washers...ie,heat them red hot on a cooker ring,and drop them(with tongs) into cold water,so they re-crush once tightened...same with sump plug washers,etc!

      If they're copper. The fill plug might be a rubber o ring. I wouldn't bother annealing, easier to replace. I buy them in bulk in various sizes so I've pretty much always got what I need to hand.

    Cada cuantos kilómetros se debe hacer este cambio de aceite?

    • @VFRMitch

      The manual should say. Unfortunately I don’t have it to hand. I think it’s every couple of years or 10k miles whichever comes first. You might need to check this.

    today I also changed the oil in the cardan drive, today I had a situation, the oil filler screw fired from the pressure when unscrewing and I can honestly say that I have no idea why maybe someone has an answer to this situation? and there is still nothing on the connection of the drive with these 4 large nuts on the connection I had dirty from dried dirt with oil. Should I worry about this? some renovation?

    • @VFRMitch
      @VFRMitch  4 года назад

      Maybe the drive was previously overfilled and was under pressure? Sorry I’m not technical enough to give you an answer.

      After oil change, lets go ride ( to warm up oil insdie), then gently unlock oil filler to balance pressure and lock oil filler again. (Sory for my bad english :)

    How often does the final drive oil need to be replaced?

    • @VFRMitch
      @VFRMitch  3 года назад +2

      Hi Benjamin. It’s always safest to consult your service book or Honda dealer. I might be wrong but I think it’s done on mileage. I’m changing mine now every engine oil change as I have lots of oil left and it’s only a very quick job.

      Quiet correct and I should have rotated the wheel to make sure it was all out. Not a bad first effort thought. Thanks for taking the time to watch 👍
