    I'd recommend once you drain the coolant out of the system which you did, to then flush it out with fresh water (just keep pouring water through the system to really flush out any debris lurking around all the nooks and crannies, then tighten drain plugs and fill with fresh coolant.

      @michaelbelfast1 Absolutely agree pal. Either flush through with a hose or do multiple flushes with ionised water. Thanks for the comment - forgot to add that to the vid.

    Great video! Can you tell me if the two drain bolts are the same part number? You listed the bolt for the front of the engine which I'm guessing is the one just above the oil filter. Is that the same as the main drain bolt (down by the shifter)?

    What model is your VFR? IS IT 2002?

      @Engstreet Yes it's a 6th Gen, hence the VTEC. Hope that helps?

    Now i learned how to change the coolant but does it have ti ve warm to drain it, and what about pouring water to drain all the remaining coolant?

      @sinohea.camachov.4040 thanks for your message. Really appreciate it and glad the video helped :-) Yes the coolant does need to be warm when you drain it so that the thermostat is open, meaning that you get all of the coolant out. It also helps that it’s warm because any debris in the fluid will be suspended rather than all dragged to the bottom, helping the debris to escape from the drain hole.
      Yes it’s a good idea to flush the whole system with water. Ideally de-ionised water, before refilling. Good spot - I should’ve put that in the video..

      @eric62backstrom Sorry to hear that pal, it's not always that obvious, especially if there's any crud on the front of your engine. Have you been able to locate it yet?

      @@FixItWithJon yes but I had to remove the oil filter to get to it. Then like a dumbass I started it up to flush everything out and I lost two quarts of oil on the floor haha

      @@eric62backstrom Ahh buddy don't worry lol - it happens to us all. At least it was obvious what you had done wrong lol. It's the subtle oversights that are the worst.. Hope it's running sweet now 🙂

    nice vid, but there is no need to get the coolant hot to flush it, if anything its dangerous, especially for people learning maintanance

      @backyardmechanical Thanks buddy, appreciate the feedback. Surely if you drain cold, you don't drain the coolant behind the thermostat? You need to raise the temperature in order to open the thermostat and drain the coolant from around the cylinders. If you do a partial drain then you end up mixing coolants which is really bad - and you have a high chance of an airlock problem too.
      Totally agree - it is not for an inexperienced person, but hopefully the video shows the difficultly level well, as well as the burn risks. Thanks again for the feedback - really appreciate it.
