    I want to like ram so bad. I bought a 2022 ram 2500 Cummins and I didn’t realize that the steering wheel didn’t telescope. It felt like a weird seating position and I couldn’t believe for a $80k truck that it didn’t have a telescopic steering wheel. It sounds like a small problem but it would make my back hurt so bad on long trips. Had to take a $18k hit on the truck 6 months later and I went back to ford. Very happy with my decision. But I’m very curious if they change their interior, I would be interested in the hurricane motor in a HD truck!

    When Ford came out with the eco-boost, many said it would fail. But, someone bought them because they still make it.
    Same with the Hurricane: Time Will Tell.
    Hint: Technology &:Progress.
    Telsa make electric vehicles. The industry is headed that way. The only problem is insurance and battery replacement.
    The oil boys are just milking all they can now.

    • @BadoreksDailys
      @BadoreksDailys  Месяц назад

      There’s undeniably a huge use for electric. We are nowhere close to being ready for FULL electric across the board. The Ramcharger idea is by far the best “on paper” design of a hybrid truck and it’s not even close.
      The “ideal” electric system will be very close to what rams doing with theirs. You have a small gas / diesel motor that works very efficiently to maintain and charge the battery that drives the vehicle. This will be drastically more efficient than running a big engine or pushing the crap of a small one. It will also eliminate the problem of range.
      There are Niche scenarios where all electric makes sense for trucks, but as a general rule that will prove to be the superior general design.

  • @lil2.74

    Nope. Already saw dragy runs of the HO version, its slooow. Must be fudging those hp and torque ratings.

    • @BadoreksDailys
      @BadoreksDailys  Месяц назад

      Just like the Cummins is slow? I6 is rarely ever going to be as “fast” as a v motor. The concept of an i6, or a truck is general isn’t to win races. Just like anything, as a general rule I’d take “slower” with better long term reliability and dependability towing my stuff all over the place than “faster” and less reliable. Powerstrokes for example vs cummins. Stock vs stock the p stroke will win the “race” almost every time, but most people who make a living out of their truck such as hot shots, car haulers, etc are running a cummins even though they’re “slower” historically the p strokes don’t hold up nearly as well for 250, 300, 400, 500,000 miles of day in day out working. Different strokes for different folks, buy what you like more.

    • @lil2.74
      @lil2.74 Месяц назад

      @BadoreksDailys horsepower and torque move things. More moves things faster. The Powerstroke moves things faster because it has higher horsepower and torque, year model against year model. I am not going to get into the reliability argument, I work on Cummins every day for a living and every one of them have thier issues. I personally know of more fleets that run Powerstroke and one in particular runs them 300K and sell them. These trucks never see a day they are not towing up too 30K one way all over the country and a heavy trailer back. They hold up well or he wouldn't be using them. They tried a Cummins and nobody liked it for pulling 30K every day. But the Cummins is indeed a very good engine. The Duramax is as well. The point is and was that based on the numbers, the truck would be faster. Those numbers are exaggerated to the plus side or the Ecoboost is exaggerated to the negative side. And for that matter, this new I6 is already having serious problems. All of the folks bashing Ford for moving forward to a Turbo 6 way back in 2011 are the same people praising Dodge, Chevy and Toyota for following thier lead. Toyota copied it right down to the same engine basically, a 3.5TT V6. The question was,will the I6 make the Ram King? Again, nope. Some lead, some follow. 2025 Dodge has a twin turbo 6 in thier 1500, wow. 14 years after Ford paved the way. And Ford will continue to sell more trucks, there is a reason for that.

    • @BadoreksDailys
      @BadoreksDailys  Месяц назад

      @@lil2.74 we both know how the year vs year argument is an infinite debate for HD diesel pickup trucks. There’s years the Cummins was a clear choice (Engine wise, not comparing trans, truck, etc just strictly engine itself) there’s years I wouldn’t sniff a stock powerstroke, Cummins, or duramax. I’m not arguing brand vs brand for one or the other particular year. HISTORICALLY the Cummins gets the knod most of the time regarding trucks that are worked for a living followed recently by the powerstroke and lastly by the duramax by a margin.
      Horsepower and torque do, obviously move things. However, as a mechanic you know as well as I do there’s a lot of other factors in “moving” things than strictly hp and torque. Gears, gear mapping, gear ratio, etc just to name a few. Ecoboost is a great example. If you took a brand new ecoboost and stuck it in a 2013 w/ 3.31 gears and a 6 speed, it gets left in the dirt by the same motor hooked to the new 10 speed with 3.55’s or 3.73’s even though they have the same hp and tq numbers on paper.
      Is it surprising the NEW motor has some issues? No. Think back to 2011-2012 ecoboosts. Tons of issues. Even the new tundras have common demons. Not an excuse, I wish all the companies would have their shit together before they release new stuff, unfortunately that’s not the industry standard.
      Again, obviously these motors haven’t been out for 10 years with millions of miles to see for sure. Actually driving the trucks they don’t feel slow or underpowered at all. It feels very similar to the example of Cummins vs Powerstroke when comparing to the EB.
      Again, the I6 design feels drastically different than a V design. Power delivery, power band, etc is much different. On paper the I6 design as a whole has proven to be very functional and reliable across the industry as a whole up to and including semis. Of course, you can make a crappy I6 just as you can make a terrible v8 and vice versa.
      It’s funny to say they’re “following” Ford by making a twin turbo 6 cylinder motor…… 3.0 vs 3.5, i6 vs v6, I mean cmon man. Was ford “copying” Ram when they made their powerstroke a 6.7L turbo diesel?!?! Ram had their 6.7 Turbo Diesel for several years before ford!

    • @lil2.74
      @lil2.74 Месяц назад

      @BadoreksDailys Up until Ford released the 6.7, they still had the same basic engine in different sizes and I am fairly certain Ford had a diesel engine in a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck first and it was a V8. Its not the liters. Ford put a twin turbo 6 cylinder in well over a million trucks before everyone else followed. Toyota went as far as to completely ditch the V8. Chevy decided to go with a 4 cylinder, but still Ford paved the way for small displacement turbo engines in a half ton truck and you could hear grumbling from Chevy people everywhere. Now the intelligent ones are figuring out that the 2.7 turbo tows beter and does better at actually working than the 5 3. The current F150 is available in a 3.3 NA V6, 2.7 TT V6, 3.5TT V6, 3.5TT V6 HO, 3.5TT HYBRID, 3.0 Powerstroke, 5.0 Coyote, 5.2 Supercharged Predator and an All electric engine. They can design and manufacture that many different engine options and get it right most of the time. Toyota had one basic engine, the 3.5TT V6 and a hybrid option and couldn't perfect it, 11 years after Ford released thiers? Come on, isn't it clear who is the innovator?
