Car companies have forgotten what a truck was originally designed for. It was supposed to be an affordable vehicle that can haul things around. If they would just stick to a solid reliable and affordable vehicle they would undercut their competitors and steal the whole market! Wow I should be a CEO!
I would submit that the buyers are complicit in that equation. The manufacturers wouldn't build them if there was no demand. Unfortunately for the manufacturers, they have begun to price the buyers out of the equation.

@LCARSDATANODE you sure assume a lot. I didn't mention Ukraine, but since you did, well, let's look at the Constitution where my first answer was also based. The Constitution establishes a common defense to defend the United States. Last I looked, Ukraine hadn't signed up to become the 51st state, has it. In terms of the other issue, the money I was talking about, which was about $4 trillion in two massive COVID welfare handouts, well, despite the General Welfare clause in the United States Constitution, Federalist 41 puts to bed any argument that claims the government has the authority to hand out welfare checks, even during a pandemic. So, printing money and giving it away to free to the American people or the Ukrainian people doesn't appear to me to be a Constitutional role of our government.
@LCARSDATANODE uh, do some arithmetic. Maybe $50 billion plus for flakey student loans for ,like, women's studies or social activism. $600 a week federal unemployment for minimum wage workers equals how many billions? While they didn't have to pay their rent or utility bills. Yep, government spending fixes everything: for flakey clowns.

My son has a big interest in buying a gladiator but was told they sell them fast regardless of the fact that the dealer had over 40 units on the lot. The Rubicon he wants is over 60k. Lots of people can considering the rate of speed at which they drive raising fuel consumption. Speed limits are increasing and aren’t even respected by most.
Talked to my wife about this the other day - give us power steering as the minimum, everything is fluff in a way - electric windows, central locking, digital dashboard, big screen in the middle of the dash. Go back to the days of being able to choose options rather than having to pay $3k for a package when you only want the remote start, for example.

Car companies have forgotten what a truck was originally designed for. It was supposed to be an affordable vehicle that can haul things around. If they would just stick to a solid reliable and affordable vehicle they would undercut their competitors and steal the whole market! Wow I should be a CEO!
You are right, there is a disconnect from reality and they are missing much of the core buyers
I would submit that the buyers are complicit in that equation. The manufacturers wouldn't build them if there was no demand. Unfortunately for the manufacturers, they have begun to price the buyers out of the equation.
Men are letting women drive the market, and women want all the bells and whistles. Even calling some of them necessities like back up cameras.

It wasn't just democraps wasting money, democraps also forced business to close due to the democrap created wuhan virus.
@LCARSDATANODE uh, do some arithmetic. Maybe $50 billion plus for flakey student loans for ,like, women's studies or social activism. $600 a week federal unemployment for minimum wage workers equals how many billions? Wife and I stopped by a local ford dealer last weekend and finally test drove a new Bronco. We actually liked it but they had ZERO interest in dealing with us. I know these vehicles are super expensive these days and my Grandfather & Father are probably rolling in their graves because I just signed up to pay double what the house I grew up in cost for a pickup truck but I think I got a decent deal considering the world we've found ourselves in.
Congratulations! I have a 2020 Ram Limited with only 8,000 miles on it. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 2500 for towing an Oliver travel trailer. If you can, please share your dealers name. Enjoy!
I bought my 2021 ram 1500 with a hemi for $43,000 and that was with $10,000 taken off the window sticker price. It a bighorn model, and I love it.
I guess the best thing is it's paid for .
Buying one is only a third of owning one. Insurance, taxes.
I own a ram 1500 pickup duel cab, hemi engine (5.7 L), all the extras on it for only $43,000. Now, they are $60-70,000! Your payments would be like $1,000 a month at least.
Car makers forgot about what happened to Chevy. It's about what the customer wants not what the manufacturer wants to build.
They are crazy when they get around 40k I might buy.
Cheers
You can buy one for 40k. Very basic with no options.
Yall remember when you could get a brand new car for $269 a month? Thanks U.S. government…
I quit looking at new trucks as soon as the price went over 17,000 because that is what my parents paid for a new house before it was built. I have bought used since then and never spent more than 15,000.
Good move as we need to reset our perspectives. People have accepted this nonsense
@@markholubetz Unfortunately I did purchase a house (my first) in 2020 and paid way too much but it is still cheaper than rent. I am 67 and had a stroke 7 years ago along with kemo for cancer at same time. I had a 2013 Jeep that I bought 6 years ago and since I had only put less than 3,000 miles on the car in 6 years I sold it last month.
After seeing your video about the most expensive cars to maintain anyone buying a RAM is a dork especially at these prices. Let them rust away
What is expensive to maintain on them? I owned a few so far 220,000 miles no issues just oil changes every 5000 miles, tune up after 100,000 miles..Like any truck you change gear oil in the diff and trans fluid as I tow do that 50,000 miles and its cheap to do so $250 changes both diffs and trans fluid...5.7 Hemi run perfect..expensive to maintain? You must be broke not to afford $250 every 50,000 miles not that you have to change the fluid but I do..Also every 2 years on any brand I change the coolant..
Toyota's are expensive to maintain,I am a former Toyota tech...A customer spend $48,000 on a 12 year old Camry in just maintenance with 140,000 miles over the years.

@@mypronouniswtf5559Same with our Ram. Nearly 200k, great trucks.
How can you afford to pay 1000$ bucks a month if you make 3$ grand a month and pay your bills and all that carbon taxes
vey few people can
good riddance - would like to see stellantis out of north america
In Canada a 1500 limited is 90,000 plus. At 5.5% interest.
Who wants to spend 1600.00 month for a truck.
You can't keep the camshafts and lifters in the block..they all over the ground,,
Inflation is killing car sales.
NO ENGINE OIL DIP STICK FOLKS. THEY GONE CRAZY
That’s the BmW way
90% of people don't prop up the hood and check their oil dude. I see what you are saying but its a pretty ridiculous argument.
