    So awesome that this video exists! I'm splitting hairs here, but I'm pretty sure that's 1980 based on the 100 breaststroke result.

      It has be 80 because Goodell talked about the then proposed boycott of the Moscow Olympics. I would have loved to have seen how Goodell and Lundquist would have done.

      I think you’re right. I’m the same age as Steve Lundquist and I graduated from HS in 1979. This was Lundquist’s freshman year which was 1980. In addition they mentioned Goodell winning the 500, 1650 and 400 IM for the third year in a row, which were 78, 79 and 80.

      @@Sargebri I think Lundquist would have certainly won the 100m breaststroke and possibly the 200. I think Goodell would have had his hands full with Vladimir Salnikov of the USSR.

      @@chrisverby3047 yup. Salnikov was a beast and pretty much dominated distance freestyling.
