  • Should The Foot Be Facing Straight Ahead When Sprinting | Foot Positioning: I recently watched a video that talked about how the foot should be facing straight ahead when sprinting which made me question the validity of that statement. In this video I will be showing you the foot position of some of the best sprinters in the world. Enjoy!

If you want to run as fast as possible, there's only one way regarding foot position: straight forward.
The reason: you are running straight forward to save time.
The foot is creating force in the very direction it points; pointing to the side creates force to the side.
I remember how I always felt frustrated when I was commenting races on TV in which Ato Boldon took part since he was running like Charlie Chaplin was walking, even in Olympic finals and cost him a lot of time.

I absolutely love this channel. Will promote it once I can. On my journey to run sub 10, I got a question. Why is my stride length much bigger when my heel is nearly touching my butt as opposed to a lower heel. Also any tips to hit the ground with a dorsiflexed foot it seems very hard. Thanks a lot!

Lower heel forces a faster turnover rate and promotes better control of COM compared to when foot is getting too high behind the butt. Strengthen the anterior tibialis to hit the ground with a more dorsiflexed foot 💪🏻💪🏻
