It's Gotta Be This.... You Won't Believe What We Found Hiding In Plain Sight
Loose timing chain, blown out exhaust couplers, readjust tuning, plugged injectors, redone heads, new head gaskets
head studs, so glad you found the smoking guns, great that you got her back to like new again, ready for full 8
second sends.👊👊👍
Ya there was a lot needed updated on
The background music rocks
AWSOME video
Ooh-rah brother good to hear issues identified and problems solved. 💪🏼Neostangs
That's why it pays to do a good visual inspection every time that You do any type of maintenance on Your car it can prevent unnecessary expenses by being able to find hidden problems that have an effect on Power ! Great content Thanks & Best of Luck 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍
I always learn new things by watching your videos obviously new to actually working on v8s or engines in general. This week I found that the turbo drain line and manifold bolts were loose on my Barra.
Great video neo..
Thanks!
Really enjoy your videos, I'm doing a budget build with a 5.0 roller in a 65 Stang!
Hell ya good luck !
Even on NA byilds, i use sleeved flex pipes. They don't cost much more, if any. Make sure they're relaxed and not expected to take the place of a bend.
Ya they were twisted up a tad. But that could have happened over time too.
@@Neomustangs It's very common in turbo builds. I've seen ones with rats nests of wire cutting the flow down to nothing. Ssautochrome has the best value in sleeved flex joints that I've come across.
The downside of racing! Something is gonna break.😢
you are correct.
Always love your content Dan!
Ty !
@@Neomustangsright back at you!
A timing chain on these ohv engines will stretch in an hour or less. The double roller is a little better but even it will have some slack after just a few hours or less of run time. I don’t run a two step or a brake even though I have both, it’s not worth it for my street/strip car. I never broke a camshaft pin and don’t care to.
higher hp cars put more strain on the chains/dowel pins.
At the level you are at I don’t use couplers or slip fits. I just make it all solid. As long as you have solid motor mounts it’s not an issue. I got tired of replacing flex joints.
Turbo is mounted to frame. Needs a little wiggle. If i had a motor plate yes I agree. None of my other kits have the coupler
no exhaust leak and solid timing, she should run correct now!
Let’s gooo
When you use timing tape on the HB I have found that it fly's off after a period of time. Quick fix is to install the timing tape then spray the HB with clear coat and it will never come off.
thx for the tip. We marked it with the tape so its double covered!
Was the dowel pin affected after all, or just the chain?
What timing chain do you recommend?
Trickflow billet. One I just put on
I mentioned that exhaust leak a long time ago. Lol.
so whats a good schedule for checking your chain ?
Once a year at a minimum. Old chains should be checked before you fire them if the motor is unknown?
First, I bet those couplers robed a ton of power glad you found that, solid snake lol
Probably
Sounds good now lol
time for a crank trigger bro, and a gear drive work very well for high horsepower, couplers suck go slip you will like it better
We are going coil on plug next month.
Glad I got to meet you at FTO. What an awesome event.
Thanks for stopping by !
Quick question dan or anyone could a tight clutch cable cause a brand new clutch cable to start slipping not even 500 miles on it
That question was sort of confusing?
Yes, if it engaging the clutch it could have glazed the flywheel or the clutch, hopefully not good luck!
@@Neomustangs I didn’t mean to say clutch cable just clutch it’s slipping from cable being to tight I think
Why don't you put gear to gear on it you won't have to worry about the timing chain stretching anymore at least
It’s fine. Chain been thru war. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t good. The holes in the old piping is what got it
@@Neomustangs ok well glad it's all figured out and running good
@@ThomasHimm-ew5ye it runs pretty good now, but I got a lot of compensation in the fuel table to mess with
Which has the least friction and most durability, chain or gear drive. I know gear drive is more noisy!
