Great video glad to see someone posting up header info. To clear up the whole ford motorsport / ford racing & ford performance confusion, it was just ford changing the name of there performance parts division over the years...Back in the 80's & 90's it was known as ford motorsport, in the 2000's it was changed to ford racing and now its called ford performance. but back in the late 90's maybe around 1999 is when ford motorsport started making M-9430-P50 mustang shorty header to replace the old header to work with all heads including GT40p heads and had the ford motorsport logo on them as well.(note the second set of headers from the left, they look like the early 90's non GT40p motorsport header that the M-9430-P50 replaced) Then after 2000 when the name changed from ford motorsport to ford racing so did the logo on there boxes and parts. (so pretty much the same header but with the ford racing logo now)
I used gt40p heads with mac ceramic coated equal length shorty headers and spark plug wires with a 90deg boot on it. I think the wire set was for a mid 80s chevy 350. I'm still using the headers on my aluminum headed 331.

In 2014 all the Ford performance genre were brought under the new name Ford Performance.
So tecnically they are the same but not the same. Time makes upgrades.
Ford built every 302 to make tractor torque, and zero top end after 1971. A set of aftermarket aluminum heads is the biggest improvement you can make, until then, the manifold outflows the stock exhaust port all day long in 90% of applications.

Would the gt40p header work on a 5.8 in a 88 truck
Any of these headers would work, but they will dump in a different location, so you will have to have a custom Y-pipe made. Not worth the trouble IMO unless you’re actually running a GT40P head. There’s tons of direct fit options for those trucks. I just ordered a set of Chinese headers for my’96 F150 5.8L (same exact header you would need) for $109.
BBK, JBA, as well as other brands make direct fit headers for our trucks as well. Price range and quality will vary, but I’ve always run the cheaper stuff.
I have an early Bronco (75) that I am going to put a set of GT40 P heads on. Will the GT40P specific headers fit in the Bronco? I have the stock Explorer cast iron manifold and was told they fit, no problem. I was hoping to find something that would have better flow than the stock manifolds. I do have a set of long tube headers for a Bronco, I don't know if they will work.
The cylinder heads don’t care what headers you put on them… They will fit the engine… As far as your smog and other secondary exhaust piping… I can’t be sure if they are compatible
@@encorempw I know any header will bolt up to the head. I'm trying to avoid all the spark plug problems. There isn't any smog and I know the exhaust will have to be modified to work with the headers. I have a set of long tube headers, Bronco specific> when bolted to the P heads it is impossible to put plugs in the drivers side.
I have a part of gtp headers and I can not find collectors for them any suggestions?
Only having part of them… I have no idea where you would begin finding a collector. I’m sorry… Maybe a local muffler shop !??
Will BBK 1510 work on GT40 and clear the spark plug?

What GT40P headers will fit a ‘62 Falcon?

@@encorempw It would be a 5.0 HO with GT40P heads in a ‘62 Ranchero. I currently have a 5.0 HO efi in it utilizing Hooker 289 falcon headers. Have a carbed HO fresh and ready to go but has the GT40P heads on it. The way your headers come straight out for a ways before they turn down may not fit that tight Falcon engine bay?

Of the ones shown here… They were listed to eBay & then sold. I have the regular motor sport headers remaining and other longtubes that would work on GT 40 p at this time.
Ford used stainless. They others went cheap.

351 headers are for a Ford lightning. No fox body ever came with a 351 not even the cobra R that you mentioned
