    • @MoveAbroadandThrive
      @MoveAbroadandThrive  3 месяца назад +34

      @@mhaas281 Rent is been driven up from other wealthy Mexicans flowing into this city from other States in Mexico. They're moving here for the safety factor here. Foreigners make up less than 1/2 a percent of the folks living here. And, the average American's social security check is $1,700/month (not much for them to come and live the high life). Everyone need a scapegoat and foreigners get the blame. But the overwhelming majority of folks flowing in are middle class and wealthy Mexicans from other parts of Mexico. I live in an upscale privada with over 400 houses (4 foreigners live here ... the other 396 are Mexican nationals). I assure you the prices didn't go up because of us.

Currently we travel to Mexico 🇲🇽 every chance we get. It’s the most beautiful place to visit. My wife loves the beach. 🏖️ we will at the very least live par time in Mexico. We are considering dual residency but still need to learn more about it. I am subscribing to your channel so I can learn more about these amazing places. It looked nice to me there was other people out. Cruise ships coming all the time would probably make the area too touristy and unaffordable. Like i love costa maya and Cozumel but I’m guessing it’s not affordable to live in any of those cruise ship towns and there’s probably no jobs available that don’t relate to the tourism industry. I think i would really need a good remote job to move there.

    If you retire there and want to keep your SS benefits you need to maintain dual citizenship. So you have to live in US a certain amount of months a year. If you want to move expecting to work and pay less for rent…jobs are few and far between and pay is way lower than US. There is a reason people from Mexico are jumping our border.

    • @MoveAbroadandThrive
      @MoveAbroadandThrive  2 месяца назад +9

      Living in Mexico doesn't mean you lose your US citizenship (that's false). And, to live in Mexico full-time or part-time does NOT require you to have Mexican citizenship. You don't have to live in the US at to get your social security income (false again). In fact, Mexico is one of those places where you can have your SS income deposited directly into a Mexican bank account. Yes, jobs are few and far between for foreigners in Mexico, but the vast majority of US Citizens do not come to Mexico to work. There are over 1 million US Citizens living in Mexico part-time and full-time. Vast majority do NOT have Mexican citizenship. THe following statement is directly from the SS website: "If you are a U.S. citizen, you may receive your Social Security payments outside the U.S. as long as you are eligible for them." Here's a publication from the SS gov website: www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10137.pdf
      People have been living here for 5 and 7 years and have not stepped back on US soil and continue to receive their payments from SS ... It's important people get credible advice before listening to random people on the Internet.

      For $550 it’s not at all dated. That’s $2500 in my little Florida beach town. With mildewed furniture. Lol.

      @@Mexicobeanpole Agreed. I saw others that was worse and they're charging $2000 USD 2 blocks up the street. I'll take the dated for $550 'Alex' jejeje ... I just care about and want the beach :)

      Hurricanes are the least of your worries. You should be more worried about the crimes against Americans (kidnappings, robberies, and outright murder). Just two days ago, 1 American and 2 of his friends were shot in the head, execution style, just for their truck. It's been all over the news. Google "Surfers killed in Mexico". Attacks against Americans are COMMON in Mexico.

      Girl bye....Americans will live in a closet in America paying 3500 but calling something dated to live in paradise.

      Varies on how much you consume. I've seen folks pay only about $50-$75 USD every 2 months, and I've seen others spend as much as $400 USD every 2 months.
