I’d be a little worried about flooding there. Curbs are low and remember there are no sewage drains or run offs. People need to be aware of that and do your research.
Nice catch, but for the price they don´t offer much I guess. I bought a house for 100,000 in Queretaro in a very decent area, beautiful location, nice houses, gated community with shopping center, basketball court and dog playground. All for 100,000 us dollar.
For a smaller, two-bedroom unit, that's actually an excellent price! Wish the US could get their act together and stop with the rampant rental increases! Some areas are seeing as much as 110% increases for just one bedroom units! It's insane!
There one million retired us and Canadians mostly in aji Jalisco. Since the pandemic unofficially around five hundred thousand young Americans mostly in Mexico City. Then in smaller numbers Europeans. So don’t talk what you don’t know.
I wish they would too! I can't afford regular housing so I'm fixing up a shed to house and living in it unfinished. My husband lost his farm manager job when owner sold the farm and our house was included so we were jobless and homeless! So now here I am in my 60s back in the workforce trying to pay it off
It was good enough for whatever you need to do in a sink. Remember, the higher the pressure, the shorter the lifespan of your appliances and of course, the higher the water bill.
I purchased an 840 square-foot condo in Tampa for 100k versus a 200k condo. IIf the goal is just to keep a roof over your head versus living in your car, you'd be amazed at how small of a space you really need. It also keeps you from buying a bunch of extra crap you don't need to fill the space. We need more small housing like this. I have a single female friend who thought she was too good to live in my non fancy place. She turned down my suggestion in 2020, when I bought my place, to consider buying the place above me for 65k. Perfect starter at 550 sq ft. That place she rejected goes for 175k now versus the 65k she could have bought it for 3 years ago 😂. My place sells at about 200k. And she's stuck paying 1800 month rent for a 1 br apartment the same size as my 840 square ft condo 😂😂😂😂😂. Never turn down a place because it's small. Be blessed and thankful. Today I am completely debt free.
Very nice unit and great find Cartess! If it fits, that dining room set would be nice in the place said to be a “study “. That would create a larger living room space.
I see a few overstuffed barstools and/or a large double purpose dining-coffee table. Move it up when you want to eat? Down when you finish your tacos al carbon.
Thanks@@MoveAbroadandThrive ; and even if all four chairs don't fit, since it's likely only two people, they could slide that table in the corner of that "study" space and use just two chairs and the other two could be part of their living room set. I look forward to a return visit by you once Mr. Raul and his wife get settled in together.
Thanks for sharing these homes! I've been kind of depressed at all of the expat RUclipsrs that show rent prices in Mexico in luxury gated places that some of us can't afford, even in Mexico! Thank you for keeping it real!❤
I'm an international brat as well! We moved every 2 -4 years. I got so accustomed to that, and now I feel the need to move after 25 years in Virginia...go back to my traveling roots.
$350 a month may not sound like much but anybody thinking of moving there needs to think a little bigger if its for retirenment. He literally just said it was closer to $300 a month and in less than a year bumped up to $350, in just a few MONTHS!. That means if you retire with say 1k monthly income coming in, in a few years time you may find yourself paying $500 a month and find yourself needing extra income. Which you won't have an option for in a foreign country. Things to think about. For people to actively work remotely its pure gold but I suspect those are few. Mexican econ will just improve so count on your dollar stretching less real quick.
Great point! Ideally, the best way to keep those payments from bouncing all over the place is to buy... I hope to be buying in another year or two myself. These fluctuations make my nerves bad lol
@@MoveAbroadandThrive I'm planning to go an extra step, by buying the actual land and building myself. Its much cheaper to build than to buy whats already built. If you buy land thats not even zoned yet you can get it pretty cheap. I'm looking at 25-40k for land to easily build 2 houses on. I figure about 60k to build a decent 3bd house that is custom built. Whats crazy is i see built houses sold to americans for american like prices. If you are buying a house for 400k+ in Mexico you might as well just move to Utah, Texas, wyoming etc. Food expenses are not that different anymore between Mex and USA. USA meal average $17? Mex I feel I spent average $12?
@cuetlaxochitl I don't know those kinds of details but I hear people do it. Also make sure you learn the language and be ready to adopt the way of life. Mexicans are starting to get angry about Americans raising prices, putting everything in english and complaining about mexican customs.

Would be nice to know how close it is to the town center. I know it’s not finished yet and it’ll look better when the yards are filled out but it looks so desolate with no trees or anything. Is this a desert community? I’d like to know more about this. Regarding the kitchen I think the kitchen sink needs to be bigger and have more cabinets. Would be good if you showed the town center because it looks very depressing and isolated. However, it’s a very good price for something brand new.
Trees attract pests and bees and squirrels and insects. This looks like a much easier upkeep and way less pests and rodents around. Much easier for those of us who don’t want to slave over our lawns and just want to relax and enjoy life.
In my view, an increasing number of Americans will consider relocating to regions like Latin America and Southeast Asia due to their affordability. As American corporations and investors increasingly dominate the housing market, it may become challenging for the middle class to afford homes at average national prices. Inflation is killing middle America especially with rising interest rates.

Los Heroes is almost in Merida, and you can see the streets and houses on Google Maps if you look. Straight line distance from Low Heroes to Centro de Merida is like five and half miles. If there is flooding do they have any houses on stilts or multi-story apartments. The thing I would be looking for is are there areas where a lot of Americans live where they speak English and there is more security?
Where in Merida are these places? Lovely!!! Are there shops - walkable??? 💞 Cartess! This would suit me just fine $$ How much $ for deposits? To get moved in?Pets allowed???
@@MoveAbroadandThrive thank you. I've seen really nice affordable homes, but they required 1st mo rent and 2 different deposits + one month for the notary. Guess it is different for every place /landlord?
Yes. Many will require double deposit if you don't have an 'aval' (which is essentially someone who will co-sign for you (they must own property free and clear). Without this 'aval', you'll typically pay 2 deposits for security (plus 1 month of rent) and they'll typically require a lawyer's fee for contract/legal paperwork (can usually equal 1/2 or 1-full month of rent. You can usually negotiate this if it seems too high. If they want to rent the place out, they'll work it out in many cases.
I wish I could sell my husband on moving to Mexico in a few years, his cousin in her early 30's lives in Cancun but works in the US loves it, I slid in a brief casual conversation, he mentioned the Cartels, he absolutely thinks we would be in danger, but last night we heard gunshots a block away while we were in bed.🤔
Wow, this is very very nice. Will you be sharing this information in more details like the prices to buy the 2 bedroom and or 3 bedroom and the contact information?
This reminds me of a movie I watched where all the homes looked the same real close together and when they tried to go out they were going in circles there was no way out so they started digging and still there was no way out
Great video! Thank you for sharing this information. The housing market is completely out of control here in the US, rent is too high, and buying a home for many is no longer an option due to the high purchase price. I'd love to get a little place like this versus paying thousands in rent at my apartment.
What do you do outin the middle of no where...how close is hospital? Howlong a driveis it for the poilce to come when you call. Also how much is water and electricity.
Brand new hospital in that city (within 5 minutes)... Police stations throughout. Cost for electricity/water is dependent upon how much you use (water typically won't be more than $7 every TWO months), and many landlords include that in the rent since it's so cheap.
I can only imagine once all of those units are rented, it's going to feel overcrowded... I wouldn't want to live there, but it's fine for those who find it suitable...
So for around $1,000 usd per month (after your rent deposit fees) you can live a humble yet comfortable life in these homes, covering your rent, utilities, water, laundry service and groceries for one or two people. Then you pay additional for furnishings, your health insurance, and any other things that you want. You also have to have extra money in case the American dollar gets weaker and the peso gets stronger. Write your budget down.
Do like we did in the 60 when they started the same thing called red lining we all moved back home with mom and after about 6 months they ask for lower rent we just went to the store and bought what we needed not what we want and food prices came down in the recession before and after
But you have to prove you have an income monthly of over $2,700 a month, you also have to prove for the prior 6 months that you had a certain amount in your checking account, and you have to continue to be able to prove that you are making that kind of money, there are stipulations to anywhere you would like to relocate, and they are getting stricter by the day, and you also have to prove that you make more money, the only way you would be able to do this, is if you could work from home and work anywhere you choose, I wouldn't even be able to prove this if I was retired and getting social security because it wouldn't be enough. It's no longer cheaper to move out of the United States. Everybody is poor now even in the United States, even your social security check would not allow you to live here
If you don’t qualify financially you can still come for six months, fly out of country for a week and come back for 6 more months again. Book plain tickets in advance. The electricity and water bill is so low. Still cheaper than the states.
I wish you would show a map so we can see proximity to Centro or distance for beach route. Thanks for this. Keep up the good work. Well I just see you mentioned all I was talking about. Still would like to see it on the map.
Nice! Just big enough for one person. I would ditch the kitchen table for couch room. Just use T.V. trays or something. What is this area near? No W/D? Square footage?🎉 They need to budget for exchange rate to make their rent go higher.
Yes... That number is accurate. No association fees. Foreigners will have to pay $500 USD properties tax fee (similar). Once u become a citizen, that fee goes away.
@@MoveAbroadandThriveDamn it's so unfair how the Mexican gov't treats Americans but a Mexican can come to the US and get free everything on our tax dollars, something needs to be done about this as more Americans especially retires are making Mexico their home! We need more reciprocal laws, imagine how a Mexican would feel if their taxes were increased to fund Americans coming to their country! Great podcast, just became a subscriber!
When the US companies leave China for Mexico, I'm certain a lot of US Citizens are going to be moving down here. It seems the cost of living is much cheaper down there, because everything in the US is expensive AF.
Whew ... can be a little tough with 2100 as income requirements increase each year... I'd suggest speaking with an immigration attorney as you might qualify for some special visa options if you've been here before.
The truth is, which no one really wishes to discuss, it's not enough foreigners here to cause all of that. The fastest and biggest growing demographic of folks flooding into Merida are Mexicans from other States in Mexico. Many coming with more money and resources. I live in an upscale neighborhood and learned 'foreigners' make up less than 1% of the folks in this neighborhood. And I'm sure when you look at the number of foreigners in the neighborhood profiled in this video, it'll be WAY under 1/2% ... So it ain't due to foreigners from other countries or US Citizens. But the folks in the US say the same thing. They'll blame 'immigrants' for taking all of the jobs ... It's a false narrative.

CARTESS, Can people BUY these properties??? You mentioned the LANDLORD...so this lady MUST OWN the unit. IF They are NEW, do you know ABOUT what they MIGHT run??? (2BR)
Think It twice.....Todo mundo va a ampliar y pintar su casa del estilo y color que se les antoje.Van a poner un expendio de cerveza en la esquina y una ferretería enseguida. This Is MEXICO.
@@SergioLopez-iz6tw No different than any other part of Merida from what I can tell.

Qhat's the cost of one in $USD?
Thank you for sharing! Where are these apartments? 😀
Los Heroes ... it's a bit out, but not too far.
They're houses, very small.
@@L.Spencer They have very large houses (and mansions) all over the city as well. There's a place for every budget
Washer/dryer hook ups?
Out back. Many homes in Mexico will have hook-ups outside of the house. The option to add a 'covered area' out back was not chosen.
EWH, this is Perfect! It has to wait for me to get there! You said it sir! Im one with a very low income. Thank you for videotaping and talking it up! (Where will heavy rains go with flat land and no street drains? )
LOL I was excited too until I found how much you need to live in Mexico. To get a visa you have to have so much a month income and so much in their Mexican bank. It's more than I get with SS! I make the amount for savings, but not monthly. So, Sure! I can afford $350!
That is a good deal indeed. I am in Sydney Australia and I am paying $1440 per month on a studio apartment. I am counting the days until I can move to Mex.
wow 😯
You'll love the sweet, very polite people.
Mexico is so "laid back." Slow down the pace of life. No more rushing to and fro like it is in the USA cities. Sit and wait for service most times. Take your time & smell the roses!
Thank you for being mindful about the panning, we get such good views of what you're showing us! 🤗
Im from Aus to. I went to Mexico last year for a couple of months and I loved it. Id move there but need an income
@bullantoffroad I am from Oz as well, Queensland. Planing to use my super to live, until such time that I can claim pension. Don't want to work till pension age, and by then not being able to dance, climb stairs, do the horizontal with the ladies etc. Couple of yrs more and I will pack up. I already got my PR card, so all its good.
The magic of Mérida. I assume they’ll have a car out there, but it’s a sweet deal and there are so many things in that area.
they wont but they wanted to be farther out. They could get by without a vehicle
I believed that the spot you said was for a study, which should be for the dining room.
Good idea
Saludos, cómo se puede obtener más información.

Thanks!
Youre welcome. email me your name so i can add ya
Where in Merida are these places? Lovely!!! Are there shops - walkable???
💞 Cartess! This would suit me just fine $$ How much $ for deposits? To get moved in?Pets allowed???
He only need to pay first month rent, one deposit and about $200 contract fee I believe (i got too many numbers running in my head)
@@MoveAbroadandThrive thank you for clarifying.
I' posted the agent's info in the members area: www.moveabroadandthrive.com/news-feed/
@@MoveAbroadandThrive okay perfect will take a look thanks and how is the family doing?
Does Merida or progreso have bazaars? (Thrift stores in us)good place to buy furniture?
Yes.
I just can't believe this. Your a god send.
Keep showing light.
Gracias.
where is this located ?
How is mail received in a place like this? Is there a central mail box per street or delivered to each unit?
This reminds me of a movie I watched where all the homes looked the same real close together and when they tried to go out they were going in circles there was no way out so they started digging and still there was no way out
😂😢😂
@@theoracle6881 I couldn't live there looks like a cult village
Cartess, you are the best, thank you for all the great videos!
Very Nice. Im looking for a 4 bedroom.
You and me both! i want 4 bedrooms this time around
How far away is the beach and the bars ?
Hi, hope all is well. Im not clear on what city you are referring too. Do you mind replying the answer?
Thx
Wow, thank you for sharing this. It helps to know Mexico is very affordable.
It's beautiful but where do you even put a sofa? I guess you put the dining set in the "study"?
Great video! Thank you for sharing this information. The housing market is completely out of control here in the US, rent is too high, and buying a home for many is no longer an option due to the high purchase price. I'd love to get a little place like this versus paying thousands in rent at my apartment.
How much will be cash for one of this units and where are this located?
What do you do outin the middle of no where...how close is hospital? Howlong a driveis it for the poilce to come when you call. Also how much is water and electricity.
Brand new hospital in that city (within 5 minutes)... Police stations throughout. Cost for electricity/water is dependent upon how much you use (water typically won't be more than $7 every TWO months), and many landlords include that in the rent since it's so cheap.
@@MoveAbroadandThrive wow..what are the social ammenities?
I can only imagine once all of those units are rented, it's going to feel overcrowded... I wouldn't want to live there, but it's fine for those who find it suitable...
👍👍👍
I was thinking the same thing!
Does it have an HOA?
Hmmm, chirp, chirp. No response.
Write your budget down.
u can find some already furnished
Way less than $1000
You still, gotta meet visa requirements and prove x amount of income
Here I come!!
I read that nonatives cannot buy a home if it's less than 50 miles from a beach. Merida is 22 miles from the ocean.
Great suggestion! I will do that in future videos. Thanks for your input.
Are there any more left? It looks very nice
Thanks for showing this beautiful home.
Our pleasure!
The water pressure was not good at all.🤦🏽
Those are great houses - look similar to housing conditions where i live in brazil - wonder if there are any Tacos around.
Very nice size apartment. More than enough for me.
Siii
Very nice! Keep them coming.
More to come!
The units look kinda familiar. You sure those aren't housing projects?
Does 6000 pesos include electricity?
No. Sepárate
Nice! Just big enough for one person. I would ditch the kitchen table for couch room. Just use T.V. trays or something. What is this area near? No W/D? Square footage?🎉
They need to budget for exchange rate to make their rent go higher.
Absolutely.
I see more than enough space for two people. There are two bedrooms.
you mentioned i can buy one for 50,000 or 55,000 is that accurate and assoc fees
However the long - very long - summers are brutally hot and humid. Like a steam bath.
What part of Mexico and do they have rental options for maybe 3 months out of the year?
The least gonna be 6 months. Most want 12 months
Hello my friend, nice place indeed. What state in Mexico is this place at ?

Yucatan (look into the city of Merida)

how does one apply for one of these units?
I wonder if the internet is a wifi ? I cant work on a wifi i need more power to plug in.
I like this and need to know more of this place .Talk to me but the water pressure was terrible. I am interested so let's talk .
When the US companies leave China for Mexico, I'm certain a lot of US Citizens are going to be moving down here. It seems the cost of living is much cheaper down there, because everything in the US is expensive AF.
Mr. Ross what are the Visa requirements options for though that retired with 2,100 dollars monthly.🌄🦍❤️
Not enough unless you have money in reserves.Pandma,Nicaragua,Colombia,Argentina,Costa Rica have way lower income requirements for retirement visas.
Whew ... can be a little tough with 2100 as income requirements increase each year... I'd suggest speaking with an immigration attorney as you might qualify for some special visa options if you've been here before.
Is this unit available for December 2024?
Looking for long term rental
Thx
I don't know.
Very cute & cozy with the little patio
BROTHER, what brought you to Mexico?
Whats the internet like over there..who's the provider?...great content
i believe all of the providers are there. TotalPlay, Telmex, etc
Where is the washer and dryer…is there a gym near by
What is average electric bill? With it being hot most of the time
This is beautiful. I’m glad they were able to live their dream. Is this community in the north?
Yes. Northeast. About 15-20 minutes to Altabrisa in Merida
What is the thing in front of the house?
Where is this located
Where in Mexico
Gentrification has hit hard us in Mexico. Now pushing out people that could afford these houses. Just wow
@@terridi1776Good for you 🎉🎉
Do they have larger apartments for rent? Thank you
Yes
I need something like this in Costa Rica.
Property name please???

is this true for 350.00 a month i live in the united states and we cant get this for a house
Once they grass, plant trees and flowers that would definitely be a nice place to live for 350
