As a retired Canadian, living under the liberal/socialist/marxist JustInflation Trudeau tax nightmare, think twice before coming to Canada. If you decide to relocate here your most likely going to declare bankruptcy, unfortunately the social assistance being not enough to exist on makes living conditions horrendous, however tent cities are popular now with immigrants. Overpriced homes, groceries and overtaxation is now a new liberal sport, fun game , where government goons get paid handsomely while taxing you into bankruptcy. So yes come to Canada and explore the frozen countryside, heating and electricity costs so much that you’re going to have fun deciding who gets your merger paycheque, the overpriced rent payments, the overpriced housing, groceries, healthcare, gas, heating and of course high tax’s on everything. But many immigrants find the government hand outs, food banks and accommodations under bridges favourable.

The Sask Party is offering graduates of Saskatchewan universities tax incentives not to move away to another province (or country) after graduating, which tells you that maybe there's a reason people want to leave the place. I live in Saskatoon (born and raised), and I can confirm our winters are brutal (regular -30C days, occasional -40C days, and even sometimes a -50C day or two each winter). Lots of snowfall too, so lots of shoveling. Poor city planning has led to lots of urban sprawl with narrow roads, which means it could literally take days for the city to free your car from the snow after a blizzard. The drastic temperature differences between seasons also take a toll on our roads, which causes nonstop road closures in the summer to patch them up, and the patch-ups are sometimes cheaply done (e.g., gravel thrown in a pothole) to save money. Low population means there's not much to do, which means more boredom, which means more crime.
Still, it's a very affordable place to live in Canada, even despite our insane housing market now (which hasn't affected Saskatchewan too much), and for the most part it's a friendly community. It's a great place to start a family or immigrate to if you don't have much money.

This video caught my attention because the idea of countries paying people to live there is really intriguing, especially as I plan for retirement. However, I have some questions that I’d love to explore further. What are the specific incentives these countries offer, and are they open to retirees, or mainly targeted at younger people or remote workers? How does the cost of living and quality of life compare to the U.S., and what kind of healthcare and social services can retirees expect? It’d be great to understand the long-term benefits and any potential challenges of moving to these places.

Her surgeon asked me why she’d not come in earlier for treatment - I said that she did, and the hospital (Burnaby General) sent her home - you know what he said?… “oh”… that was it, that’s ALL he said… she was 65 - many doctors/ surgeons/hospital staff are paid 3 times LESS than in any other western country, they also come from 3rd world countries and are not properly schooled/trained

FYI: All of Canada has free medical care, not just Saskatchewan! The federal government has also created a program to encourage new immigrants to move to Northern Canada as we are trying to populate our Northern Regions. Immigrants can choose this program now, which comes with many benefits. In the future they are talking about forcing new immigrants to go there as a condition to live in Canada, but not yet.
Northern Canada is breathtakingly beautiful, is vast, and needs a great deal of people to build its infrastructure to accommodate population growth. It's like building a practically new country when you think about it. It already has governments set up just like any other place in Canada. We just need people to built it up. Roads, housing, airports, businesses, everything. There would be work for every person at every skill level because there is so much to do. I think it's quite exciting. I kind of wish I was young enough to contribute something to this growth, and even though I am already Canadian, I would consider moving there just for the adventure and to be a part of the development. Plus, as the climate warms, so does the weather in Northern Canada. Meaning this will be more tolerable for people who are a little weary of the cold. But I'm not talking about living right beside the Arctic Circle. I mean further inland near places like Yellowknife and spreading out anywhere North of that. So much opportunity here.
Also, we are building up our Military presence in our Northern and Arctic waterways, because the ice is melting around the Arctic and this allows the Russians to get closer to us. There will likely be a new Military Base or two constructed and that will also require a lot of infrastructure around them. So, if you want to more North and build it up practically from scratch with full support and endless opportunities, go to the Canadian Government website and have a look.

I'd like to point out that the decrease in European populations is by design. Add to that the current climate in Europe is heading towards martial law imposed by the EU and the 3rd World invasion of European countries, Europe is probably one of the worst choices to move in to. Taiwan isn't a safe bet either because of the constant threat of Chinese invasion. That leaves Chile and the island off of Madagascar. Both of them want you to bring a business with you.

I lived in California for over thirty five years
and now live in Texas. I can tell you that the
same retail jobs pay $1 5k to $20k more in
CA. I also found that services here in TX are
more than in CA. Restaurants are more
expensive in TX in my experience as well.
Property taxes supplement the state having
no state tax. Homes that cost $600k four
years ago are $950k to $1 M in the North
Dallas area. So, unless you move to rural
areas, the cost of homes has changed in the

It sounds like an incredible opportunity, especially for anyone considering a change of pace or remote work abroad. I’d love to know more about the requirements-are these incentives mainly for certain professions, or are they open to retirees as well? Also, what’s the cost of living like in these places? As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, there was no country that paid individuals to live there for free on a large scale. However, some countries and regions have offered various incentives and programs to attract residents, particularly in sparsely populated areas or to boost their economies. These incentives might include tax breaks, grants, or subsidies, but they usually come with certain requirements or conditions, such as starting a business, investing in the local economy, or moving to a specific region.
Please note that the situation can change, and new initiatives may have been introduced in various countries since my last update. I recommend checking with the latest sources or the official websites of countries that interest you for any updated information on residency or relocation incentives they may be offering.

I currently live in Saskatoon,l (moved in 2020), and I have to say, Sask has a charm to it!
It’s a great little city, if you can handle cold winters! The people are some of the kindest I’ve met in Canada, and the cost of living is some of the cheapest in the country.
It’s also a short flight out to major cities in Canada, so if you really miss the big cities, you can fly out to Vancouver or Toronto, or even drive out to Calgary!
I would highly recommend moving to Sask - especially one of the bigger cities, for an easier transition. Then you could consider an even smaller town if you fancy 😂

Think about what you said about Taiwan. First, you must have a teaching certificate and an ESL certificate. Not to hard to get. But then they'll pay you $2,000/month. You can make $6,000/month doing the same thing in the US and Taipei is not significantly cheaper to live in.

But in US the requirements to teach ESL are probably more strict since it's an English speaking country so they have more choices of candidates.

Speaking as a Canadian, I would not encourage moving to Canada. Canada is currently broken and unaffordable thanks to the incompetent and corrupt Liberal/NDP Govt. I'm watching this video to explore options of leaving Canada. PS we do not have free Medical Care, it's tax payer funded.
