Yup, I remember this at Earls Court in ‘94. Pre-show to build up the atmosphere, this was on the surround sound system with it circling around you. Absolutely fantastic.
The same bit is also on The Division Bell - it's used in "Cluster One" and a later extract of "Sum" in the transition between "Take It Back" and "Coming Back to Life". Hearing the piece in full on The Endless River was a real eye-opener.
I went to Yankee & Giants Stadium shows that summer..and totally remember this..(Nice analogy in description box, btw)....my group were all tripping hard & fkn loved this aspect of th show..amazing Q sound, and i do remember my cousin finding this hidden gem on th cassette...i had only bought th cd. Imagine our minds blown when we found this!!! And of course it just recalls that whole day ight...birds are hysterical!! Best show\band ever..always!! Thnx for this!! 🎸😎
Thanks for the kind words! Was hoping someone had also been there and remembered this rather than not even noticing it and chatting away. I remember sitting very still, trying to drown out all the annoying chatter around me and listen to what was going on. This was about a week before the Division Bell was released so I had no idea those sounds were the same as Cluster One. Like you said, great show from one of my fave bands of all time. Glad you enjoyed it!
I've often considered putting together a "complete" live version of The Divison Bell... using mostly Pulse as a source (plus Wearing the Inside Out from David's later gigs). This mash-up of Soundscape and Cluster One would make the perfect first track. (Since "Cluster One" was never played live.) In other words, up to the 15 minute mark (but with the proper original ending). By the way, there must be a lot of these soundscapes. I know a different but similar piece was used on the AMLOR tour, and even in the 60s and 70s the band had opening tapes. David again used one on his 2016 tour, I recognized a lot from this one, but I also heard bits of e.g. "Echoes" in it.
Indeed, it set the ambient mood pre-show on that '04 Tour. Every bit of this sound effect soundscape was a build up as we fans couldn't get enough before the lights went down....

Right around the 3:00 mark, the beginning ish part of “side 2, pt: Sum” from the endless river is going on... wild 🔥🙌🏼
I'm 66 going wild too
God bless you and your family in these times
