Apple is going to support RCS by this fall... took them long enough. Now Android users will be able to see typing notifications, react to messages, video txt quality being good, etc. It makes the switch from Android to Apple less tempting for me now
I had an S9 and loved it. Now I got a 12. I only got it to track my mother with dementia. She’s not driving anymore. I’ll be getting an S24 or Pixel 8 soon. By by boring iPhone.
Thanks for letting us know this. In other words, we won't be seeing messages like "liked XXXX message", right? And I prefer google voice texting to doing it on any phone, because I can type up messages on my laptop 😁
Me too. I left Apple because of the cable. No matter where you bought one from, they would always fail - unless it was an Apple cable. They lost my custom to Samsung for 13 years because of that decision. Now I have the 15 pro max with USB-C so I don't need to buy an extortionately priced Apple cable ever again.
I really very appreciate that you are making your videos without background music 🫡🫡 The music is really annoying on others. Many thanks for the useful "real" videos you are making 🌹❤️
I have only seen a few of your videos, but I have appreciated your content so far. And I enjoy that they haven’t had any music in the background for the videos I’ve seen. Very much appreciated!! Thank you!! ❤
I went from a iPhone 12 Mini to a 14 Pro and I was almost shocked by the increase in weight between the two devices. I didn’t care a lot about additional battery life because I’m almost always near a power source, I keep a MagSafe 10,000 battery pack in my carry bag. I do love having a 3X camera though, that has come in handy for me a few times and sometimes the weight comes in handy when you’re wearing heavy winter clothes. Sometimes it was hard to find my 12 Mini in my winter clothes
As an android user, who has a MacBook, I want to get an iPhone to save time sending myself files. This video is amazing with the fact that you covered everything that I had been wanting answers for, so thank you. :)
Also android (S22+) and Macbook user. There is an android app called File Manager + that is amazing and powerful. I can easily connect my Android S22+ to my MBP, my NAS and even any Windows computer on my home network. I can easily navigate the file structures locally or on the other device in either direction and its very fast. If you are still on android, give it a try. It works great as a free app but I paid the fee as I wanted to support the developer.
I got an iPhone 13 Pro 5 months ago and the switch has been hard. no back button and on my Samsung I could screenshot whole pages, can't do that now on the iPhone but overall it gets easier to navigate daily@@maaz2505
What do you think about how the notifications are presented? I feel like when I switched to iPhone the notifications were a jumbled mess compared to Android. When I switched back to Android it was like a breath of fresh air. 😂
Yes and no. I would love a hybrid between how android and iOS does notifications. I like the Notification Center iOS has but they aren’t as well organized as android.
I wonder if its a setting? Maybe try going back to certain channel's you really want notifications from and unsubscribe and resubscribe? I use iPhone XS Max, an older iPhone and always get my youtube notifications whether its a live or a comment. Good luck, hope you get it working.@@dogcrazy25
I do think Apple design is better and with the restrictive hardware/software controls they have, they can make improvements that is not as easy on Android. The entire eco system is interesting, but two major drawbacks for me are 1) application limitations on laptops and desktops and 2) the cost of the devices are higher for equivalent specs with almost no upgradability. To each their own. What works for one may not work for another.
I was so tempted to go with a Samsung this year and then I watched videos with several content creators where every Samsung they had started having their batteries blow up even though the phones were powered down and in temperature-controlled space and none of the other brands in that space had the same problem. One content creator said that it was literally every phone over a few years old. One had it happen with a two-year-old barely used phone. Unless you are someone who changes phones yearly, that knocks Samsung off my list.
Yes, totally agree. For the same budget I would definitely choose iPhone. However, for lower budget I would not choose used iPhone 11 over a cheaper new Samsung A54.
For some reasons happened to three phones that weren't used for a long time and the batteries weren't charged for a while. For the last 4 years I've been using Samsung and you picking an iPhone is a mistake... i have an iPhone 6stho.. it does the same job as the 15.. same os feel, same restrictive usability nothing different at all. So yea that's that :d
@@denislavdimov2347 That isn't true. There is a huge difference between the IPhone 6 and the 15. Particularly if you go Pro Max which most people do nowadays.
AirDrop was my biggest reason to switch. And, I still have the iPhone X because I’ve been waiting for USB-C. I’m finally excited about upgrading my iPhone to the 15. Yay!!! 😂😂😂
Dude same. Usb c all day, baby. That's what I've been waiting for to switch from android. Love Samsung but it's boring and I have an m1 macbook air now.
I agree with the notification system. I was so used to just swiping down anywhere on android to see a list of notifications. I had to train my brain to recognize that notifications are an entirely different Notification Center on the phone.
@@Gemini_Connect ah see I put my mother and family on android because I’m the one who has to explain it to them and it’s what I use. Plus I don’t see how they would justify $1000 price tags when the $250 Motorola whatever it called has been adequate. Hell I have a v30 I would still use if i could get a new soc and camera.
My friend has iPhone said never uses it either I thought that’s why ppl got it. Mind you I don’t use video on Samsung either. One ui 7 will be so so good. I can’t leave now….
FaceTime audio! Same as phone calls, but for free when I call my family abroad (not operator-based), and higher quality. (Plus FaceTime has some sharing functionalities, but that’s more specific.)
Came from galaxy phones , last phones was S9 . I tried iPhone 13 for a year . I used iPads for years still do. Hated the iPhone . Customization sucks . Too many restrictions with ui . I guess face Id. Rocks. Finally went back to Android. S23 + is now my new daily . No more complains . I do miss face Id .

Great video. Long time Android user here. When Apple gives the iPhone a back button and gets rid of that (IMO) intrusive dynamic island I may consider switching over.
Re: carplay split screen, just press the bottom left 'apps' button, then press it again for split screen. It'll switch to your map on one side, then media and next direction on the other.
Notifications on Android are like the iMessage of the iPhone. They really need to just completely overhaul the notification center on iOS and more importantly make custom gestures a thing. On Android, swiping down anywhere on my home screen opens my notification drawer, and I can swipe notifications left or right to dismiss them or easily clear all. The best part is the notifications don't disappear. On iOS if you don't pay attention to app badges you'll miss notifications all the time.
Good point. iOS baffles me. Navigation, notifications, keyboard, notifications center, seem like easy things to change to make a better user experience. Especially on a big phone. Why make users reach to top of screen unnecessarily?
@@hhhmmmmmmmm iphone has a dedicated gesture to one handed mode, if you don't like big phones then pro max just isn't the option, i mean i'm about to switch to the iphone 13 pro because the pro max is just overkill, unnecessary, uncomfortable to use one handed, so i just don't buy it, but if you do happen to buy one just swipe down near the bottom bar and it will just turn on one handed mode
@@NFYT thanks. I know about one-handed mode. It is convenient Android is just more user friendly for a big phone. Swiping down from mid screen brings the full control center. Other things as well. I wasn’t really clear.
@@hhhmmmmmmmm yea ig what you mean tho dw just pointing that if someone doesn’t know and struggles using iphone one handed, imo despite the fact that it doesn’t really have those universal back gestures tbh iphone has been really comfortable to use so far! People often says that is “hard” to get adapted to the gestures or how the app works but tbh even when i’m using it one handed is just that responsive and just muscle memory most of the time once you get the feel of it most ppl love it and thats why most ppl that gets an iphone refuses to go back to android, but when you change straight away then it CAN be difficult to get used to it just not that much 🙏
The main reason is I went to IOS was the watch. That alone is enough to switch. Not to mention all the social aspects (workout challenges, iMessage, tablet etc…) that IOS brings.
Yeah, and the watches are going to get better. They are working on glucose monitoring and other things that cause me to pause. I also love that my phone will call for emergency services if I fall or am in a crash and the satellite SOS gives me such comfort.
After being Android dev with Android devices for my whole life, I finally got fed up and switched to iPhone. There are a minor few very annoying things about iPhone and those are the typing experience on iPhone is bad, there notifications are difficult, selecting things are bit manual.
That’s interesting that ur a android dev. It just drive u nuts, how stubborn Apple is with their os. Why make navigation n notifications more difficult? It just be an easy fix? That alone is why many android user won’t switch. Keyboard also. My main gripe, especially on a big phone is that android makes it much more user friendly. But I always go back to iOS.
The thing I hate the most with apple is lack of options and the stupid eSIM in the USA I use my SIM card much easier to switch phones I have 3 android phones I switch on and eSIM is a pain
HI Gemine, thank you for the vídeo. It's Just amazing! I've been searching about moving from Android tô Apple for about 3 months and your vídeo is just what I needed!!!!
Great video! I'm in the same boat as you. My whole family except my mom has an iPhone. I love my Samsung, but it's not as easy to communicate and do certain things. I also miss Apple wallet. It's much better than Google.
I am pleased to have encountered this video. I have been a long-time user of Android devices; however, I am now earnestly considering transitioning from my Samsung S10+ to an iPhone 15 Pro Max. While a high-quality camera is of great importance to me, one of the compelling factors for my interest lies in Apple's fitness ecosystem and (hopefully) USB-C. Additionally, I intend to acquire the latest Apple Watch to complement my new phone. Presently, the only Apple products I possess are an older iPad Mini 4 and the recently released iPad Mini 6.
Same. I have a Samsung galaxy s9 plus for six yrs now. And lately the iPhone and their airpods and watch has been catching my eyes lately. My birthday is on September right when the new iPhone 15 comes out. So I too will switch to pro max
I did the switch one year ago and I had always the best Samsung possible. The only thing I regret now is that I did the switch not earlier. As soon you swap to iPhone and iWatch you will understand how nice Apples Eco-System is. Everything works perfectly! And once you have Airdrop, iMessage and Co. you won’t go back 😊
I recently made the switch it's not worth it. At least for me customization is really important and iPhones are so limited but SO limited when it comes to that. I find it funny when you look up how to personalize iPhone home screen is basically add widgets and change the wallpaper. Another aspect I don't like about iPhone is that there is no back button or easy gesture. The system goes more smoothly than my older phone but also my android phone costed me $300. I also miss the quick charge, even though I have more problems with the battery life for now, I have seen that many Iphone 14s eventually get battery life problems. So in my opinion is not worth to switch but if you going to be a slave of their ecosystem, then you should probably get it.
@@MemoryOfDeath001 Thanks for your input. I hear you on buying into there "walled garden". I use to customize my android a lot, but not so much any more. I'm willing to give it a try (iPhone) and if I don't like it, I'll sell it and go back to android. No phone is perfect and this seems like the best time to finally try an iPhone out. I'm only looking at the iPhone 15 pro models.
I hope that when you need to switch back to Android, the experience is the same. Many years ago, when i switched from iOS to Andriod, iOS made it such a pain!
You can also buy the case with a magsafe ring for Android phones or even just the ring itself and stick it on the back of the device or your case of choice.
I have never had an iPhone and started with Blackberry moving to Samsung Galaxy. I currently have a Galaxy Fold 5 with a Latercase, Magsafe ring and Oh-Snap instead of a Pop Socket. Android phones feature more cutting edge tech that takes years before they surface on iPhone. The only advantage to using Apple is if you use proprietary apps in their ecosystem like iMessage or FaceTime.
Apple has been good to me for 10 Years, congratulations on the IPhone , enjoy, but I just want to know, why. Did you have a hard time with the Phone,or were you using Android to long and wanted to try something new?
It is so stupid iPhone just works I have both and they both just work so smooth so using that thinking is a dumb excuse cause you can’t think of anything else me I prefer android for flexibility now that’s a answer lol not it just works lol it just works
I have switched between them all and at the end of the day, time and ease of use are worth the Apple tax. Having everything just work and work quickly is worth it. Android people talk about how theoretically they can do this and that but they don't and can't because others in their ecosystem aren't set up to do it.
I'm happy with my S10, but it doesn't work with my DJI Mic, so I'm thinking of upgrading. I prefer Android for specific apps, but I'm torn. Is the S23 worth it? I saw some camera comparisons and often liked the S10's photos better.
Me too.. Getting to notifications is such a pain. My "really old" iphone I never had this issue. I do love the camera.. It's my primary camera now for most of my videos.
I'm exactly the same! I have just switched from a Samsung S10 to an iPhone 15. I did go for the regular iPhone 15 though ... not the pro... so I really hope it doesn't disapoint me 🙈
I’m was an Android user since 2010, starting with an HTC Magic, and ending with a Galaxy S23. I have used practically all Android Flavors from all major manufacturers. Three weeks ago I changed my Galaxy S23 to an iPhone 15, just by boredom, and my expert is pretty good overall. But I will tell you the most disrupting things I had encountered: - The lack of a Universal Back Button (All apps open new windows with a Back virtual button on the top left corner, but it’s not consistent, some windows has this button on the top right corner, you can close others by swiping down, and almost all apps let you swipe from the left edge to the right). - The Keyboard. It doesn’t have a Number row, and all the special characters are hidden under a “123” button on the bottom left corner, including the dot and the comma. This was the most painful change, It took me almost three weeks to get to the same typing speed I had on any android phone, but you get used to it. - There’s no advanced clipboard with history or something similar. - Selecting text and moving the cursor to edit works differently. - In general, iOS is slower than Android, and im not talking about performance, but productivity. All animations are pretty slow, and some apps only register inputs when the animation has ended. If you are a power user, sometimes you could feel like you’re outrunning the phone. - There’s no real multitasking, like dividing the screen or floating windows. Aside from that, all the experience is pretty enjoyable. I have encountered little to no bugs in any app on the iPhone. Comparing it to Android, there was never one day that I didn’t encountered one bug at least: From Chrome refusing to search or redirect to a Webpage until I closed the tab, to Facebook and other Social media apps playing audio of videos from other post in the background, UI elements broken because I use bigger fonts, among others. iOS feels more stable, it’s always ready to do any task without any kind of stutter, it just works, and all apps have a quality baseline that exceeds almost any app on Android. All apps feels, looks and works almost the same. Photos, Videos and Audios taken from any app has better quality overall, including Calls and Videocalls (WhatsApp and Messenger).
I’m kind of in the opposite boat right now, I’ve been using iOS for about 13 years and I’m considering a Samsung but there a lot of things about iOS I’m not sure I’m willing to walk away from, even though I know the Galaxy phones are considered top notch. Would you go back to Android from iPhone?
This was a great video, I found it pretty helpful! I'm switching to an iPhone 16 pro after being an android user for the past 15 years, and while I have a few concerns, it is the right move in the long term for me. I am just not anymore that kind of user that takes fully advantage of customization and APKs. Nowadays, I value more social interaction apps in my circle and a better video camera. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience, it'll useful when my time arrives to make the switch 👍🏽
wish me luck on my 3rd attempt on trying iphone. 1st was iphone se 2 back when it released, then i switch to 12 mini but lasted only 2 months. This time around, waiting for my 15 pro max delivery lol
I was an Android user I switched for the same reason, my family. But now that I’m a iPhone user I don’t THINK I’ll go back to Android yes. I do miss the customization of Android but I just feels like IPhone is more secured.
I just switched from s21 to iphone 15 same reason family chats. They said I can try it of 15 days. Do you think I'll like it? I want to give it a chance but I always swore I'd never switch
@@tylerh1930 I know you will bro! It’s going to take some getting used to but you can’t go wrong I have the iPhone 14 I bought it last year and I love it!🙂
The secure is a lie but if it makes you feel warm and cozy at nite then great stupid people that don’t know how to use tech is what makes things less secure
I'm a Samsung user, and I'm switching to the iPhone 15 Pro model. USB-C is a nice change. As for a watch I'm looking at the Garmin 7S Pro Solar Sapphire model.
I made the switch. I prefer Androids home layout and customization but the ads and lack of updates on fairly recent devices made me switch. I do like the build quality of the apple stuff and how seamless different devices work together. Airpods in particular are awesome.
Was an android person for years but when I had an iPad everything just followed and now I just can't go back. It's like what they say once you're accustomed to the apple ecosystem that everything is just seamless it's hard to make a decision to switch to android.
2 things of note, android has magsafe available. I'm not a fan because the charging speeds are painfully slow. Google's voice dictation is the best in the industry and it's not even close. I use it for texting 95% of the time. How is it possible you never used it on android?? Android has quick share or link to windows for transferring files.
I know it's kinda weird but i have both android and iphone and I really need to choose one because it's hard to use 2 phones but i cannot let go of either one 😅
Like you, my family is all on Apple. Facetime, messaging, and airdrop are the only three things I like about apple. I strongly dislike the interface, the weight, wouldn't use any iCloud or anything, and would miss my Google integrations as I'm a heavy user. This video was informative and I appreciate it but I'm not convinced.
Everything Google works on iPhone. It is Android (by Google) that gives the problems. But the Google services work normal, full integration, they just look nicer. No need for iCloud, iTunes or any of that if you do not like it but it helps A LOT.
There is usually something in android that does the same thing Apple does but more flexible they will play well with others unlike apple if you don’t have apple everything? Apple is like a spoiled child that say you will only play with me no one else but that’s big corporation thinking all money
@techierg1862 really? I use an android phone and Sony true wireless earbuds. My MacBook works fine with my earbuds. Would they work better with airpods? Maybe. The only thing that sucks with apple is the iphone uses aac and doesn't support the best audio from a lot of earbuds.
Thanks for balanced comment. I have been life long android user and have used iPhone 6, 6s and 8 in past for short times. Currently I have the money and want to buy 15 pro max or s24 ultra. The only thing is pushes me towards iPhone pro max is photos and video quality that is unmatched. But I can not compromise on so many features that android and especially Samsung OneUI provices. Here are several that are completely missing on iOS. So iOS is the pain point for me. - call recording (in my local property related work it is so much important) - notification management is so well on Android - changing ringtones; iOS might not allow me to put on my Godfather/GameOfThrones/HarryPotter theme music - switching files easily to Windows OS machines. Here in India apart from my software engineering world hardly anyone uses Macbooks and hence we need easy access to file transfer - multiple apps on split screen or in their windowed manner (this is a huge thing and I have lot of such utility in daily life) But I also want great video capturing and photo capturing that I craved since I was 12 Years old. So I'm super confused need someone's help haha
You stated many valid reasons why you should stick with Android. I'm in the same boat and as much as I'd love to try an iPhone there will be several limitations like transfering files between my phone and Windows PC. Compressing files into a zip file especially when needing to send an email with large files for work. Just a lot of window based programs there will be limitations with apple and apparently car play is a lot worse than android auto. And no notification bar. List goes on. If you already have a MacBook, iPad, etc it would be different but not being part of that ecosystem will be a hard transition I feel and a lot of sacrifices to accomodate it.
@@pbdivyesh Nice! Enjoy your new phone. I bought the S24 plus after trade in but I returned it and got the base S24 for it's compact size. The promo and trade in value was pretty awesome for customers who took advantage of it. I plan to by a DSLR camera also for when I travel. If you have any top camera recommends that would be great.
I've been thinking a lot on switching to Iphone. I currently have a Samsung S21+ and I have been an android user for 15 years. I got disappointed with my s21+ becuase of the freaded green line issue on the screen and I habe always been curious what having an Iphone feels like. In case I'll jump in and buy an Iphone 15 pro I still won't be able to let go of android since I'm knee deep in the android ecosystem 😅
Still enjoying it? I just recently bought a base 2020 m1 macbook air. It is the best laptop I've ever used. If I still was hardcore gaming lot, I wouldn't say that, but it's amazing. It has fully convinced me that iphone will be a quality experience. Plus there's the appeal of it interacting seamlessly with my laptop. I'm so used to android but I think it's starting to appeal to me.
This is no big deal in this day and age. I jump every other week between my Galaxy S23, Pixel 7 Pro and my beloved iPhone 13 mini (love this little phone) without skipping a beat on everything I use. I'll only buy another new iPhone if they bring back a new mini. If they don't then I'll keep my 13 mini forever and have a Pixel as a daily use main device.
Good video. There is a split screen in Apple Carplay. When you are on the home screen, click in the left bottom corner, and it will show you the map and the 2 last apps you have used.
Congratulations! I am happy if it fits you. Personally, I love the iPhone design, the curve is beautiful, and the video camera is also stunning. But what annoys me is the OS itself. call history is awful as the dialer phone, the typing experience also painful, same as the navigation through the phone, and the most crucial to me is no fingerprint unlock. Because I ride my motorbike very often and stop to check messages and phone calls, and the face id doesn't work with the helmet on. Again this is my preference.
Great video! Other things not to like: lack of flexibility in home screen icon placement, lack of a system-wide back button, and a truly inflexible standard keyboard. Of course, there are other compensating advantages, as you suggest. YMMV!
Yeah but these are subjective things. The system wide back button complaint is disingenuous as iOS does use swipe to go back on nearly everything it does. And the default keyboard is leagues above Gboard and all third party android keyboards. I understand the rigid icon placement complaint but I think it’s still subjective for most people.
@@ILoveGrilledCheese The default Apple keyboard is nowhere near as good as Gboard on Android. And the iOS 'back swipe' is hit or miss, nowhere as consistent as Android's gesture.
@@djross95 I'd have to say the best keyboard around is using Gboard on Pixel, but Apple has made improvements in the default keyboard over the years. I just wish 3rd party keyboards on iOS were viable alternatives to the default.

The iphone software knows if you are using an Apple charger or a non apple charger, that is why your iPhone charges slowly on a non apple charger. Apple dose this on purpose to try to get you to buy an apple charger.....FACT.
@@robertvogt1527 Stop spreading false information, this is simply not true. You can use a 20 -25 watt charger brick that isn't an Apple brick and it will still charge at 20 - 25 watts, in fact, most people do this rather than buying an Apple brick. Like me, my phone fast charges on a SAMSUNG charger ( I have an iPhone 15 Pro )
@@RealMrMizter it’s not the brick it’s the charging cord if it’s not a Apple certified Apple cord it will charge slower it’s in articles everywhere Apple is just trying to make money
@@techierg1862 Articles spit bs all the time, and my phone charges at full speed with an amazon basics USB C cord, so I’m pretty sure the slower charging was only with non Apple lightning cables. And charging speed has mostly to do with the brick now, most cables can hold a lot of watts. But yeah, my phone charges the same speed with a amazon basics USB C cable as it does with the Apple one that came with the phone
CarPlay does have split screen and if I am not mistaken had it before Android Auto. Matter of fact the latest Android Auto looks more like CarPlay than ever before. One feature I really love that is not available on Android Auto is the way my Garage Door opener automatically appears on the CarPlay screen when you get close to home so you do not have to search for an app like Android Auto.
This is such a genuine review! I switched to iPhone 15 PM and I'm having almost the same experience. However, 1 month in and I'm still very frustrated with the UI/UX and the notification center. And been having glitches and bugs with some apps, which according to iPhone users "never happen". In my country, iMessage, Facetime and Airdrop are not the norm so I don't think it was worth the switch. It's still a great phone, though, but I don't think iPhone will win me over.
FaceTime and iMessage is a thing or fad cause many convince themselves it is I can use anything but in the USA many make a big deal over communicating apps if you use iMessage or FaceTime your cool your part of the Apple fan club it’s basically a USA thing I’ve done fine with any communication apps they all have something to offer
Hello I have a question how to you erase objects on photos? My. Samsung S22+ have that option in the edit. I’m confused looks like I have to download apps to do this. Another down fall on this IPhone. Plus the albums are not in order they are all randomly put in.
With the recent changed, device local ai instead of off the device is crazy, rcs adoption, usbc. I'm actually excited and less nervous that I switched over. They are taking a lot of the android world in!Still waiting on my phone. ❤
Finally someone else talking about the same issues i saw with apple carplay. I really hope their new update to it coming in late 2023 makes it act more like android auto because then I might make the switch. AA is just so much more user friendly where apple carplay is so dated. It blew my mind when i couldnt pinch to zoom in on the map when my friends phone was plugged in.
Communicating with my daughter is my main reason for switching to iphone. As a tool, I like Android better but communicating with my daughter - and now my wife also has iphone -overshadows all other reasons for switching.
The new Samsung's don't have any headphone jacks at all. Even though they're on android they certainly aren't optimized for social media at all and the cameras settings are garbage as you have to download extra apps just to see all the settings within native app otherwise you're cropping in on the main sensor and you're not actually changing lenses at all. To many mishaps
Thank you, this was a great review. I've had my droid also for over 10yrs and also have a galaxy watch. Since I started my YT channel shortly after I got a MacBook and the process of transferring files from phone to the mac is very slow. Yes, I'm invested with that galaxy and not ready yet to make the switch, but don't mind researching.
I keep coming to the same conclusion unfortunately. I say unfortunately because I love the diversity of Android and having so many choices in camera optics, for example, or the rest. But in the end, I always go back to the iPhone for two reasons: first, iOS, which I find incredible to use. Also, because I am disabled, I need voice commands since it is much faster to speak than to write by hand, and much less tiring to talk to write rather than to write by hand. Unfortunately, I can never get voice commands to work on any Android phone except the Pixels. However, I found unfortunately for the pro in my case that the photo and video quality was not at all at the level of the iPhone, so I preferred to keep my 15 Pro Max, not to mention iOS, which for me is unbeatable in terms of pleasantness and consistency. I would love for the Pixel 9 Pro XL to surpass the iPhone in terms of camera; it would allow me to switch back to Android and have even better voice commands, but I find it hard to believe. Google certainly has the financial means to be on the same level as Apple, or even surpass them, but it seems that it's not in their objectives, or maybe it's too complicated for them, but I doubt it; they are surrounded by some of the best in the world on their teams. I feel that the 16 Pro Max will probably be a better phone in every way compared to the Pixel 9, and I find that a shame. It is a shame because monopoly is never good for consumers and the more diversity that matches the best standards, the better it is.
@@Gemini_Connect Regrettably, I'm unable to afford the 15pro currently, having bought the 14pro just three months ago. In hindsight, I should have waited until October. I believe it's wiser to stay with the 14pro until the release of the 16pro next October, which I anticipate will be similar to the 15pro but with additional features. Regarding the camera's still photo quality, I'm dissatisfied as it doesn't justify its cost. What is your opinion about this? However, I appreciate the video quality.
I'm trying the other way round, trying Samsung S24 ultra from iphone 13 pro, I've been using for 8 months, I still love using iphone, I think UX wise iphone is really good, and i take a lot of videos, samsung is kind of laggy or "not smooth", I'm comparing a 2020 iphone 13 with a 2024 s24 ultra, that's crazy, I still don't understand why many people say samsung is good (i know their photo camera is good, their customization is good) but what else is more important than User Experience...
HONESTLY! i switched from a OnePlus 8t to a Z Flip 4 and god have i not enjoyed it. The Samsung is both slower and less smooth, i actually don't understand how the world's biggest smartphone manufacturer has such mediocre quality...
@@rxshivamgamer8135 that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I have a snapdragon 8+ gen 1, 8gb ram. I'm aware of the tradeoffs that you make when getting a foldable, but at the end of the day the software experience is the issue. I have a friend with an s24 and has the same struggles, and my 8t despite being years older still destroys the Samsung in terms of speed, fluidity & bugginess
@@Polyeith Take it easy, dude-relax! I agree that Oxygen OS is fluid and better than One UI, but it's primarily the animations of Oxygen OS that make the difference. That doesn't mean One UI is bad. I don't understand why you're experiencing such poor performance; maybe it's a defective product. I’ve had the OnePlus 12, Vivo X100, and now I have the S24 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max. I love One UI for its functionality, and I loved Oxygen OS for its animations and fluidity. It was definitely smoother, but that doesn't mean One UI is bad or laggy. Maybe you received a defective product, as I'm speculating.
Okay. 1. Data transition is easy. Is this really a point you can highlight because the other way around it's just as easy or even easier to switch to a new android phone. 2. Magsafe. Magsafe is on android devices as well so ...? Nice highlight for apple lol? 3. Design. This comes really down to personal preference. And good job adding critique at the end of this one but not even highlighting this or adding it to the points you like with android. 4. I don't know what you were doing on your android phone, but you can use dictation just as good on android, but tbh I never ever heard someone say that Siri is good or better then ANY other voice assistant lol. And after that you blame that you're so used to the Android ecosystem. You are not even informing yourself on new things but you had to when switching to Apple. Good job. You just said yourself that it's your fault for not using features on android, because you did even know they where there. And yeah you're right, it's good to break up habits, but you can do it just as good when not switching to an Apple device or even another Android phone. 5. FaceTime. I don't know if it just me all my group of friends, but have you ever here of WhatsApp? It actually has a FaceTime pardon. And I never had a friend with an apple device that said: I want to send you photos and videos and call you via FaceTime so Bad but I can do it because you're using Android. 6. Air drop. Yes, I actually think it is you. Because you can do just as well with Google photos or a Google Drive or nearby share or airdroid or use one of hundreds different apps in the Play Store that can do this. 7. Yes the iPhone camera is pretty good. But on Android phones there are just as good cameras. But if you compare an 5 year old Phone to a new phone of course, the new Phone is better right? Especially that the last years of Smartphone development leans heavily on cameras. And if you would've informed you just a little bit, you would know that "triple camera system" has the same meaning as "2000 Watt speakers". It's just marketing .So what's even the point.. 8. This is again personal preference. Android phones can feel just as Premium as iPhones, especially the phones with a matt Glass back plate. But i guess you didn't even new because you just did not inform yourself about things that you like and don't like on your phone or in general about phones. 1. USB c is on the iPhone15 now as well so the critique is partly unjustified. But because when you bought yours it wasn't, so its allright. Just all the older phones that sell just under the initial retail price are having this problem. 2. I've gotta say that I heard more people spoke more positive about apple car play than the other way around, but I've also heard, when you use wireless car play the battery drains insane quick, not so on android. Conclusion: Cool for you that you've switched and are happy and there's nothing wrong with it. But what is wrong, is your uninformed opinion. So many things you're saying and declaring as things you like on apple. You NEEDED to change all your habits and thus you needed to inform yourself about iOS and new apps. As a result you found so many things that you like, but you probably could've liked them just as well on android if you would've known they exist. You're more or less selling the iPhone for features that have been on android for ever and that's wrong. Please inform yourself properly when making informative videos. Otherwise you're just misleading other uninformed people as well. I was hoping for good reasons to switch to Apple because I want to understand the other side, and what's keeping people to stick so harshly to Apple and pay the premium prices.
My main reason for switching was FaceTime - yes, I use WhatsApp, but literally NONE of my friends and family do. They’re all on iPhone. I’m fully aware that I could’ve switched my habits to the latest Android model, but I wanted an entire OS change instead. Now on the iPhone 15 and very happy with it. But in a few years, I can see myself going back to Android just to change it up again.
I've been using dictation on Android for like 4 or 5 years now. And never had an iPhone. I actually started to dictate after I saw it in a movie, when a woman dictated to iPhone while she was driving a car. Since then I do this all the time on my Samsung. But I sometimes think of switching to iPhone. But I'm not going to buy any other devices within Apple ecosystem, so I don't know if there is any reason to switch.
Nice video. Thanks! One thing I don't like about iPhones (I already tried 2 times to like the iPhone) - the way how some of the apps look. For example iMessage. The UI is... dated? UX is nothing close to Samsung Messages. In Samsung Messages I have minor improvements which do not bloat the UI, but help a lot for example I can scroll my big SMS list having the date preview. It's a very convenient feature. And it's especially annoying that I can't change the default text application on iPhone (on Android I was using Signal as default, but then Signal dropped SMS support so I switched to Samsung Messages). PS. You can't migrate Signal database from Android to iPhone too - yet another issue. Grr....
14:30 Android has also had gestures built in for quite a long time. Unfortunately, phones like Samsung kept the button system enabled by default. This babied many users and made gestures very difficult to adapt to. Samsung had built-in gestures since Android 9 released in 2018, but they were not turned on by default.
Great video! I, too, have been always been an Android user. Since buying a G1 16 years ago I've been a rabid Android fanboy. I've annually bought the latest-greatest Android phone and enjoyed their superior tech and cutting edge software... until last night. Last night, disgusted with Google's pro-tyranny politics and especially with my Samsung Zfold's unblockable spam, I ordered an iPhone.
Very good video. I did the change over also after many years with Android. Have 15 Pro. And got watch 9. Highly recommend this watch. Even tells me when I am hearing more than 90 decibels of sound. Important for your hearing health. Love the form factor of phone. Android insists on having a big brick.
I watched your first video on this subject and sure. Dictation seem to be the thing you overlooked on android. To me switching makes sense for you as a Mac user. Airdrop and continuity with Universal Clipboard will draw you in deeper into the ecosystem and bring more value to both your Mac and your new iPhone together. Saying that there even is an android ecosystem is just wrong. It’s a puzzle of services. Being able to start a message or email on your phone and just continue on your Mac or copy/paste anything over is almost magic. A tip for the odd android friend or colleague. FaceTime links are a thing now. So you can send a FaceTime link in an appointment or sms that work on both android and windows!
Well that is just plain wrong. Have you tried the later versions of the my phone app on windows? Cut paste messages copy text and pictures move files easy with Edge platform independent. Is it good? Yes. Is it better than the Android integration? No. Does it suck? Also no. But it still doesn’t constitute an ecosystem
@@techierg1862 well not really. They make devices and yes they try to integrate them well. But it’s not a true ecosystem. They don’t control software and hardware since phones and tablets run Android and their PC s run Windows. Sure there is the phone companion windows app and Microsoft and Samsung are in partnership making devices working together easier. But it will never be as seamless or effortless for the user to actually use and never as efficient in terms of software or power.
I've been contemplating going over to apple again to try it out again and since most of my family uses iPhone it makes contacting much easier but, I use Windows PC and won't change from there to Mac or anything like it. I'm also intrigued by the vision pro. But I am afraid to lose so many ease of use features that Android phones have like a clipboard for my keyboard and my keyboard just remembering email addresses, and code addresses that I've typed in before. Also things like google key board and its ability to translate what ever i type in English to Spanish.
How do people live without split screen? Im switching from Samsung Ultra to a Pixel this go round im excited and dreading it. I know its gonna be a little bit of a downgrade.
First! I’ve been lightly considering switching to android for one reason. Game emulation. Right now I carry my iPhone and a separate android based retro gaming handheld right now. I was thinking it may be easier to just get an s23 ultra with a controller and just use the Samsung for everything. I’m pretty invested in the Apple ecosystem so it’s unlikely that I’ll do that. It would be nice though.
I am going to be getting a iPhone 15 Pro Max, coming from a Samsung s20 Note Ultra. I noticed that a few of the cons that you listed are now fixed! Such as the weight, and the charging cable! I am hoping to have a great experience when I switch, as I have an iPad and Airpods aswell.
@@theblindsharpshooterI'm looking to get an iPhone because I've been so impressed by this macboom air m1 base model that my brother handed down to me. It is serious quality in power efficiency, build quality, and usability. I'm hoping iPhone feels just as premium. My s22 ultra has given me so many problems. Just poor battery life, Bluetooth connectivity issues and all this other stuff that I've never had with a Samsung phone before. So now I'm thinking iPhone??? Maybe....??
@@hobosnake1 I had a Note 20U with no issues. I made the jump to iPhone and have started selling my google accessories and converting them to apple products. There are some things iPhone doesn’t do as good as android and vice verse but overall I’m enjoying apple just fine
@@theblindsharpshooter There are some things to get use to, but overall I am enjoying the iPhone experience a lot better, it seems to be smoother, apps work better, and the cameras are pretty nice and have cool features as well. Also the battery on my 15 Pro Max is actually insane to me, I can get two days out of it without having to charge it. (compared to my s20 Note Ultra would last maybe one day with light use)
Nice video. Butt I have a question. When you talked about carplay/Android auto are you sure you didn't mean the reverse? I was an Android user for 13 years. I now have the 14pro max. And one of the things that bugged me about Android was Android auto. No matter which phone I had it was always hit or miss. Very glitchy. And as far as I know split screen had been available on carplay fort years now. My wife switched to an iphone from Android when the 13 came out and she was easily able to split screen carplay.
Your S10 also had all those cameras modes, and more, but it's doesn't look like you explored them much I think it's because of the design: the iPhone camera app is quite easy to find modes etc whereas on Android you often need to go into the settings menu and it changes depending on what camera mode you are using. And so many people are unaware of all the modes and features on their Android phone
The problem comes from you needing to customize every little facet of your phone when I got iPhone I set volume, brightness to auto and change my ringtone
I'm thinking of upgrading my Note10 plus to an iphone 15PM. I've been nervous about transition from Android to Iphone so thank you for making this video 😊
Customisation is not my mail concern. In fact, it's not a concern at all. T9 dialer, native call recording, file transfer to windows over cable, connecting to Android, TWS, or other accessories over BT, and other flaws of iOS are what my concern and why I am being a bit hesitant to switch to iPhone.
I'd be tempted to go back to iPhone if they weren't so unrepairable and anti right to repair. Plus I want my next phone to have a headphone jack and expandable storage again.
@@computersales or you can literally just grab something and break chunks of them also android screen replacements are noticeably more expensive than iPhone screen replacements. iPhone are generally easier to repair
Carplay is like the tip of the iceberg. I mean, iOS is pretty much like that, dated all the way. When you are in iOS you might think otherwise because you don't know any better. All features exist in Android but they are just more modern, better and advanced.
I watched your other video, so I understand the variation in video from iPhone and Android made it necessary for you to switch. My last iPhone was the 7 and I'm currently loving the S24 Ultra, but I also received the 16 Pro Max 2 days ago and I'm really trying to give it all the benefit of the doubt, and although I agree there are some improvements to iOS since the iPhone 7, I see iOS is still mostly the same, and nowhere near as amazing as One UI/Android 14.
Filmic Pro transitioned to subscription on all platforms. Doesn't matter for iphone users though as the free blackmagic camera app rules and can pretty much replace it
Apple is going to support RCS by this fall... took them long enough.
@@NorthlanderMNiphone is so boring and ive been an apple fan boy for years!! Im getting the google pixel fold soon very soon

I just got my first IPhone which is the 15 Pro Max and this video helped.. what really got me over the edge was the switch to USB-C.
I’m soooo happy to have USB-C finally!
I got a iPhone 15 Pro and that was the thing that tipped me over too was USB-C I’m really loving it so far
Same here!

The music is really annoying on others.

Soon as I hear background noise, I'm gone
Iphone is so frustrating for me
I got an iPhone 13 Pro 5 months ago and the switch has been hard. no back button and on my Samsung I could screenshot whole pages, can't do that now on the iPhone but overall it gets easier to navigate daily@@maaz2505

What do you think about how the notifications are presented? I feel like when I switched to iPhone the notifications were a jumbled mess compared to Android. When I switched back to Android it was like a breath of fresh air. 😂
Notifications on iPhones are still a mess compared to Android.
Awwww you sound hurt that she’s enjoying the iPhone so much
Yes and no. I would love a hybrid between how android and iOS does notifications. I like the Notification Center iOS has but they aren’t as well organized as android.
Hate notifications on iPhone. I use RUclips 75% of the time and miss my notifications

Androids version of airdrop is nearby share and if you have a samsung quickshare is samsungs version of airdrop

Quick share is better than airdrop
I agree with the notification system. I was so used to just swiping down anywhere on android to see a list of notifications. I had to train my brain to recognize that notifications are an entirely different Notification Center on the phone.
But I don’t get it, I can also swipe down on literally any screen on my iPhone or iPad to see my notifications…
Meanwhile I had an iphone for 4 years and never touched facetime. I don't want to to see you. That's historically why I have a phone
Fair enough. I mainly use it with close family and friends who live far away.
@@Gemini_Connect ah see I put my mother and family on android because I’m the one who has to explain it to them and it’s what I use. Great video. Long time Android user here. When Apple gives the iPhone a back button and gets rid of that (IMO) intrusive dynamic island I may consider switching over.
They JUST implemented the island with the iPhone 14 pro series, I doubt they'll get rid of that any time soon.
That's a feature not a bug. They want you to always be looking at your black mirror.

I'm a current Samsung user, and I'm switching to an iPhone 15 Pro Model, and the watch. The USB-C is a nice change.

Same here. IOS just works so well.
I have a IPhone 12 Pro, but I am thinking about the Galaxy S24 ultra.
Why did you switch?
The DOJ should use this video for evidence in their case against Apple.
I'm happy with my S10, but it doesn't work with my DJI Mic, so I'm thinking of upgrading. I prefer Android for specific apps, but I'm torn. Is the S23 worth it? I saw some camera comparisons and often liked the S10's photos better.

But I will tell you the most disrupting things I had encountered:
- The lack of a Universal Back Button (All apps open new windows with a Back virtual button on the top left corner, but it’s not consistent, some windows has this button on the top right corner, you can close others by swiping down, and almost all apps let you swipe from the left edge to the right).
Let's say 16 years, Android was released commercially in 2008, couple months after the release of the first iPhone.
I just recently made the switch from iPhone to android. Its taking some time to get used to but Im really liking it so far!
Actually CarPlay does have split screen, always had it.
Good luck I wish kept iOS 16 don’t like 17
I was an Android user I switched for the same reason, my family. But now that I’m a iPhone user I don’t THINK I’ll go back to Android yes. I do miss the customization of Android but I just feels like IPhone is more secured.
100%
meh. It isn't , though :)
Uodate
Keep up the good work - always enjoy your presentations and even get educated...
I know it's kinda weird but i have both android and iphone and I really need to choose one because it's hard to use 2 phones but i cannot let go of either one 😅
i have the same problem but not with phones but between my wife and my Girlfriend
@@chrisspainPretty sure there's no avoiding the app store. Also no split screen in 2023 is insane.
What's app and nearby share does the samething
- call recording (in my local property related work it is so much important)
- notification management is so well on Android
- changing ringtones; iOS might not allow me to put on my Godfather/GameOfThrones/HarryPotter theme music
- switching files easily to Windows OS machines. Here in India apart from my software engineering world hardly anyone uses Macbooks and hence we need easy access to file transfer
- multiple apps on split screen or in their windowed manner (this is a huge thing and I have lot of such utility in daily life)
But I also want great video capturing and photo capturing that I craved since I was 12 Years old.
@@alb.4089 yes this is what irks me the most!!!
@@alb.4089 agreed! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I did buy a s24 ultra and yes in near future might go for a MIRORLESS DSLR camera
I'm also bothered by the green lines on my Samsung S22 now. What phone have you switched to?
Congratulations!!!! LOL! Welcome to the Apple family!!
Same here-I recently switched from my Note 10+ to iPhone 15 Pro Max. So far, I like the experience. ❤
I might have missed it but would you do it again? Have you thought of switching back to Android? Great points made...thank you
Good video. There is a split screen in Apple Carplay. When you are on the home screen, click in the left bottom corner, and it will show you the map and the 2 last apps you have used.
I have both in my pocket for work. I much prefer my Galaxy Ultra. But they each have benefits.
@@justinbprice Agree 100%!!
Im considering switching for the iphone15 since itll have a usbc so i can still use all my existing chargers. Thenonly down side is i noticed the samsung wireless chargers, charge iphones more slowly /: and i have 3 of them around my house!
If you care about 120hz get the 15 Pro and not the 15
The iphone software knows if you are using an Apple charger or a non apple charger, that is why your iPhone charges slowly on a non apple charger.
Currently I have the regular S23. Should I go with the 15 pro, or should I stick with my S23?
Totally depends on your preference, but I would go iPhone 15 Pro.
@Gemini_Connect I saw some reviews and the only bad aspect about it, is the battery. It seems it could have been wayyyy better :/
Best video I've seen yet. You answered all the questions I had
everything you mentioned is available on android and people just don't know it. I'll stick to my back button, headphone jack and microsd card slot
On an S21+ at the moment, can confirm, no headphone jack.
Sadly the micro SD slot has been taken away. Samsung no longer carries on their phones. Except on their mid range phones.
Since when can you send someone a photo with original quality on Android?

Thank you, this was a great review. I've had my droid also for over 10yrs and also have a galaxy watch. Since I started my YT channel shortly after I got a MacBook and the process of transferring files from phone to the mac is very slow. Yes, I'm invested with that galaxy and not ready yet to make the switch, but don't mind researching.
Hi Gemini, did you manage to transfer Whatsapp data to iPhone too with Move to IOS app?
You will be able to view more than one app on apple car play. I normally have Waze open along with my music and calendar
I am using the iPhone 14 Pro, and I agree that it is quite heavy. I also dislike the lightning cable that comes with it.
I gotta say, iPhone 15 is a huge improvement. It’s way lighter and now has USB-C!
You sure galaxy s24 ultra 'lags'? I don't think that's the case.
HONESTLY! i switched from a OnePlus 8t to a Z Flip 4 and god have i not enjoyed it. The Samsung is both slower and less smooth, i actually don't understand how the world's biggest smartphone manufacturer has such mediocre quality...
@@Polyeith Try the Galaxy S24 Ultra; phones like the Z Fold aren't truly smartphones.

Ohhhh haven't regret a minute buying S23 Ultra!
Both are great options. There is a social pressure that iPhone has, but it depends on your friends and family if that matters.
S23 is a second rate phone.
@internationalplayboy8685 that's just a laughably stupid statement, and I'm an iPhone fanboy
Would you say the data transfer would go smoothly even for people without smugmug?
I’ve only done the data transfer with SmugMug, so it’s hard for me to say. But I’d hope it is smooth!
So you can send a FaceTime link in an appointment or sms that work on both android and windows!
iphone sucks for us pc users android works seamless with pc
Well that is just plain wrong. Have you tried the later versions of the my phone app on windows? Cut paste messages copy text and pictures move files easy with Edge platform independent. Is it good? Yes. Is it better than the Android integration? No. Does it suck? Also no. But it still doesn’t constitute an ecosystem
@@driver288 android has airdrop to call nearby share. Samsung and google have seamless abilities between their tablets watches and pc as well.
Samsung has a big ecosystem they make more products than apple and your devices work all well together
I just ordered my first iPhone. I got my son and I the 16 pro. I swore for years, I'd only buy android, but this one is too nice to pass up on.

The only reason I'm on this video is I'm considering the switch mainly due to Siri.. The VA doesn't miss a beat. It somehow it understands jibberish
Interesting. Most prefer Google assistant over Siri. However, Siri has gotten better lately. Suppose to be even better in iOS 17

How about a lightning to USBC adaptor which should be easier to carry around than a complete cable?

Just poor battery life, Bluetooth connectivity issues and all this other stuff that I've never had with a Samsung phone before. So now I'm thinking iPhone??? Maybe....??
@@hobosnake1 I had a Note 20U with no issues. I made the jump to iPhone and have started selling my google accessories and converting them to apple products. There are some things iPhone doesn’t do as good as android and vice verse but overall I’m enjoying apple just fine
I enjoy the 14pro chunk and lighting is nice tbh
Now Android auto also has it
Your S10 also had all those cameras modes, and more, but it's doesn't look like you explored them much
I think it's because of the design: the iPhone camera app is quite easy to find modes etc whereas on Android you often need to go into the settings menu and it changes depending on what camera mode you are using. And so many people are unaware of all the modes and features on their Android phone
The problem comes from you needing to customize every little facet of your phone when I got iPhone I set volume, brightness to auto and change my ringtone
I'm thinking of upgrading my Note10 plus to an iphone 15PM. I've been nervous about transition from Android to Iphone so thank you for making this video 😊
don't do it. just don't
Customisation is not my mail concern. In fact, it's not a concern at all. T9 dialer, native call recording, file transfer to windows over cable, connecting to Android, TWS, or other accessories over BT, and other flaws of iOS are what my concern and why I am being a bit hesitant to switch to iPhone.
good luck imma switch from iphone xr to 13 pro very excited 🙏🙏
makes sense to switch from iphone to Android cause that's taking 10 steps forward but why take 20 steps backward lmao
I'd be tempted to go back to iPhone if they weren't so unrepairable and anti right to repair. Plus I want my next phone to have a headphone jack and expandable storage again.
iPhones are really repairable wdym
@@dan-_-S no they aren't. The parts are firmware locked to the phone. Also need a fancy laser if you want to replace the back glass.
@@computersales or you can literally just grab something and break chunks of them also android screen replacements are noticeably more expensive than iPhone screen replacements. iPhone are generally easier to repair
@@dan-_-S lol sure. 🤡 Android is easier to repair because I can easily buy replacement parts and don't have to rent fancy tools to fix them.
Damn! We should get together and celebrate .Last i iPhone i had i phone 3G also
Carplay is like the tip of the iceberg. I mean, iOS is pretty much like that, dated all the way. When you are in iOS you might think otherwise because you don't know any better. All features exist in Android but they are just more modern, better and advanced.
Can we transfer the whole WhatsApp data including chat, media files including pictures, videos and voice notes from android to iPhone?
