Just switch from S23U to the 16 Pro and I still wonder why. Iphones are supposed to be user-friendly but one of the most basic gesture that any users would use, which is back gesture, is extremely inconsistent on iOS. With android or Samsung, you get a dedicated back button on the navigation bar at the bottom, or you can swipe from both the left and right side inwards in order to back, it just works regardless apps. But on iphones, some apps do allow swiping from the left, some force you to swipe down, some locate the back button at the top, some on the top right others on the top left.
I tried switching to Android from iPhone recently and it didn't go well. Android is fine and the Samsung Galaxy Ultra is a nice phone, but there were far too many sacrifices for the few extra benefits. You can't go wrong either way. Choose the one that works best for your lifestyle and for the people in your life.
I have both and it's not that big a deal. Most people use the same small collection of apps over and over. You adapt without thinking about it. I get that Android owners like to think it's a big deal, but in the real world, phone in hand, it's not. Should it be more consistent? Probably. Is it the end of the world or a deal breaker? No.

@duncanamc I feel the same way. The review is so biased that I couldn’t even finish the whole video. It’s also somewhat inconsistent, making comparisons that feel unrelatable and unreasonable, which made me think it's more about getting views than providing a fair review. For example, have you ever focused solely on a Samsung watch and experienced it failing to sync your workout progress on your samsung phone? Or using soley Huawei phone paired with the watch and it failed to sync? If not, how can you suddenly bring in Huawei or other brands just to complain about their syncing issues? Yet, when comparing the Apple Watch, you only consider its sync with an iPhone, and you call that fair? I’ve watched reviews from other tech RUclipsrs like Mrwhostheboss, MKBHD, and others. They always provide honest and straightforward information, which is why they’re my favorite tech reviewers. They don’t show bias or make derogatory comments just for views or attention, but I can’t say the same here. I understand the reviewer’s enthusiasm for Apple, but generalizing that and directly comparing it with Android, then claiming that Apple is far better, feels like an unreasonable comparison. It seems like it's more for views than to genuinely guide people in making informed decisions if they want to buy something. That said, in terms of functionality, customization, and, to a large extent, usability, Samsung has an edge over Apple. Same exact reason why apple customer base is called sheeple cause everyone is using the same device. Most of my friends are still using iPhone 11 and they even skipped this year, because it’s still holding strong for them. I was frustrated with Apple that they didn’t bring the basic stuff they lacked, but it is actually coming slowly. Like the ability to use NFC payments without Apple Pay because it’s not available in my country.

Thanks for another great video. I have been an Android user for 10 years and, working in a Google environment in education, there is really no alternative as certain free apps are just not available on iOS. Having said all of that, if cost was not an issue for a semi-retired teacher, I would gladly have borne the discomfort in order to be in the Apple ecosystem. I simply could not, and cannot, afford everything Apple.

I’ve just moved from S24 ultra to the iPhone 16 pro max. So far it’s exiting things like RUclips videos, a back Botton and viewing notifications when I swipe down and not being able to get rid of them on the pull down that is getting me..

There are *way* to many sacrifices, from siri to sideloading to constant lag and glitches to general slowness of the OS. i can't do basic things like download RUclips videos for longer than 30 days or text friends over RCS. It's ridiculous.
I do love iPod and everything but apple except for their iPhone, but I have to keep using it as my secondary phone for continuity, as of phone I do prefer Samsung ones indeed
Having had this exact dilemma (for me the biggest pull in iOS is iCloud sync and backup, I know Google photos / drive exists but just not the same) I decided to just carry an iPhone and a Pixel. Best of both worlds. That is until I started a job that had a corporate issued phone. So now I have 3 phones. I may need help. Lol.

Tonight I activated my iphone after several years of Samsung, all the way back to the 'ol S2. My gripes so far are: No fingerprint unlock, you can't choose to have more apps per screen if you wish, no google search bar, and the camera is far sub to Samsung.
In the Philippines, when you open the box, and you change your mind, there's like I think 5% charge that you need to pay just to return the phone that you bought 5 seconds ago.
I've been using iphone for 5 years (since 2020) and I miss android so much that I bought the s24 the other day to try it out again. I am getting used to the fingerprint scanner instead of faceID but I love how responsive it is and I don't have to lift my phone to my face everything time to unlock it. iPhone is a smoother experience when it comes to the OS but functionally, Android works way better. I love the back button and the navigation gesture options. And Gemini is pretty amazing. I might have to sell my apple products in the future lol
I switched to Google Pixel a year ago, currently have a Pixel 9 pro XL, you can do everything you mentioned with Google echo system plus the software echo system from Google. Google services are very popular than Apple (Search, RUclips, maps, docs, keep notes Gmail, ... etc) and with Google integrating Gemini to all its products, make it unmatched. Now, on my phone I can open Google assistant (Gemini) and any questions about documents I have on Google drive or ask it to summarize a video on RUclips and many more. Plus Google AI features in Pixel phones is a way ahead of Apple. For me Google echo system is more complete than Apple. Apple provide only hardware echo system.
I’m a simultaneous iPhone 15 Pro/Galaxy S23 Ultra user. I love them both. I love the Apple ecosystem the most, but I also love the S23 Ultra and the Galaxy Ring. I love my Apple Watch Ultra 2, and I like my Galaxy Watch 6 classic. My MacBook Pro is awesome. My Samsung Galaxy Book 360 Pro is meh. My iPad is awesome. I haven’t splurged on a Galaxy Tab, primarily because I expect I’ll be disappointed with a poor experience of Android apps on a tablet. So, Apple wins for me, but I continue to learn more about the Galaxy ecosystem over time!
Something about the iPhone that keeps me coming back for more. I ventured to the other side but the best android flagship just doesn't have that personal feel like the iPhone. It was like using someone elses device if that makes any sense
I've a Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel buds Pro 2, pixel watch and Pixel tablet all using with the Google TV Streamer connected into my Google WiFi smart home with Nest devices. Im really interested in hearing about this "amazing" Apple Ecosystem that does less than what i can do.
For me, it's not just the ecosystem I have with my own devices, but the integration and ecosystem with everyone else's device. If I have an Android and want to share files with another Android user, I have to ask which model? Do they have this particular app downloaded? The account setup? For example, the Apple contact sharing. That was rolled out, and it just worked. For everyone. If Samsung did that, it would only work with other Samsung phones. Too many models/companies, each with their own mini ecosystem which leads to more hassle for me as a user.
Not being able to move apps to where I want them used to drive me spare. I'll maybe look at iPhone again next upgrade now that we can (somewhat) do it. Cheers for the video.
Ive used android for 15 years, switched to a iPhone 16 pro Max couple weeks ago. What I miss is messenger bubbles, the Android keyboard (Numbers on top, comma and punctuation with the spacebar, GIF built into the emoji board, and I could either write english or my mother tongue norwegian without switching to the English keyboard), I miss the rolling screenshot function, and text editing. Go back and Edit text is way easier on android than on iPhone, Even with the «hold spacebar» function. Over all they Are pretty similar, yet not.
Oh and another one, the insane plethora of «how do I go back», on Android you can just swipe back from anywhere, in Apple apps its whatever any developer found funny to add 😂
So Pete the big question for you is…… what’s your main device you have toyed with Android and lived with Apple gun to head and had to pick one what would it be? And why?
I still didn’t quite understand why you went back to IPhone again. 3 weeks ago you were talking about Android. What are YOUR reasons to switch? I know the benefits but your reasons specifically Btw you can’t access Apple Inteligence right? EU restrictions don’t allow it yet :/
This has nothing about which phone I’m using. I’m still using both phones. Just pointing out the differences for those interested in trying an iPhone 😀
Personally most disadvantages people are getting switching away from iphone is because they already invested too much to apple products, if you're brand agnostic like me, you won't even have that problem.
My $200 Android has 90hz & long lasting battery. I wanna to switch to iPhone but i have to ask myself. Is the battery more important than screen refresh rate? Or vice versa? If refresh rate is important, I'll pick iPhone 16pro. But if battery matters, then I have to pick iPhone 16
Even though it’s free, the waiting lists are crazy long. Lots of people are waiting months, if not years for treatment. Thus taking out a private policy!
I like how the main disadvantage of Android is the sheer amount of options! Bad thing, option, yes... by the way, switching again to Android next week?
Apple in the US is more like a monopoly and yes, it's consistent and has a reliable ecosystem because people are accustomed to it due to its restrictions (like iMessages and the lack of compatibility with android or other OS). This in turn creates a problem where Apple dictates how we should use the device, what price we should pay and what we can do with the device. Android on the other hand doesn't have restrictions and has a plethora of options. If one isn't suited for you, there'll obviously be another company that's offering you a better deal. You don't have to spend as much as you would spend on an iPhone and still get all the camera and performance on android. You can use any variety of devices and all of them would work together ( a different headphone paired with a windows laptop, different smartwatch and a different tv) and everything would still work according to your need. But yes, that means both of the choices above are catered towards to different categories of people. And it's all about one's subjective preference whether to pick an option where you don't need to control everything yourself and is just handed to you, so you'd have to pay more and follow any rules/restrictions they impose. And the other group, where you have all the freedom, don't have to worry about breaking your bank, repairable but you have to set things up instead of the company setting it up.
Just wanted to share, that you can make iPhone smoother by reducing the animations under accessibility settings. As a visually impaird former iPhone user (now a Galaxy user on an S23+), I should know. If only Magback would support more than just the Ultra line of Samsung phones... But at least they're cheaper than the iPhone ones.. Do I get an S24 Ultra in Purple when the S25 Ultra comes out? Or the more compact S24? Not sure! I'm debating. At least my S23+ in Purple is paid off... Mind ya I don't mind the plus phone... I'm one of those who types with one finger on the screen so...
here in Canada the 16pro max 256gb is 1,749$ plus 261$ for taxe = 2,010 $ for a phone my gosh that is a lot of money . Where do people get that amount of money to buy this? credit card , be rich or save money two years to buy a phone like me .great video
LETS JUST BE HONEST.. switching to iPhone bcoz we all live in social media.. and the content we post is very well optimized with Apple products.. its like a monopoly thing or somethin
I own an iPhone and Google Pixel. Post photos and videos on both . Both are exactly the same, no loss in quality etc. Maybe social media is equally optimized on Google Pixel devices
There is literally zero reasons to switch back from Android, but you just can't help it and you are trying to find sense and explanation, but there really isn't one. I've been in your shoes. Every single iPhone from first one until 15 Pro Max. But switched to Android (mainly S24U and Pixel 9 Pro XL) and I am not going back. But hey, each to their own. 😊
idk, iPhones are for the severely impressionable and financially irresponsible imo. That or the people who just want a phone that's accessible and don't care about how much they spend - as long as they can get all their apps and they work well. Android is cool but they never seems to be able to deliver a well-rounded product like Apple seems to do. The problem with having 'Android' running on hundreds of differently made products with their own customisations along the way is that it seems more intimidating to approach even if the hardware or software is better.
Whenever seeing reviews and they talk about only being able to customize their Home Screen so much on iPhone, I always wonder if this is because of the accessibility features that Apple offers for its products. Of course, most don't need them and probably don't even have a clue of them existing let alone how to use them, but for the people that do, it's instrumental. Example - I've seen some of my friends that are vision impaired use the grid of the icons to navigate and know where their apps are. So I don't knock the grid system at all because I know the usability is made for more than just me.
iOS remains stable in the long run but it is definetly behind android in terms of everyday functionality. Apple is like Japan of mobile phones. Always one step forward and two steps back!! They will give you features like airdrop but won't give you the option to access location settings from control centre. I just don't understand these silly restrictions.
I'm not happy as I've switched from a samsung to an iphone. How do i get the apps that i paid a subscription for to transfer to apple from Google play. why is the iphone refusing to change the apple ID email from an email address i haven't used in 15 years!?
well i didnt switch, i own both top end ones. only because Apple store has the best content creator stuff, NDI options, a hole bunch, and camera/video stuff. my first time back, since iphone 4 i think, been a long time. but i have had a ipad pro, most of the time, also.
@@PeteMatheson yeh not as much ndi, on the playstore, or other advanced apps. also, yes, they can be behind on features, also. App developers make more $$ with apple.
I have exclusively used androids for about 15 years and I finally bit the bullet and bought an iPhone 11 a few weeks ago. Amazing cameras, all my android friends keep asking me to take videos / photos with my iPhone because apple looks way better, keep in mind this phone was released like 4 years ago and most of them are sporting phones like a Pixel 8 Pro and a S24 Ultra Never returning to android
These tech reviewers are all the same. Use apple products religiously. Puts a switch to android video out to draw in android viewers. Says they're switching back when its time to return or sell the review unit. Like. Clockwork.
i think a pixel/windows ecosystem is better than just an Apple system. Pixel phone plus tablet is snappier and far more flexible. i much prefer the operating system. Apple have fallen behind with AI. I think Samsung is on a par with Apple now. They also make washing machines!
Apple products are less innovative, yet unnecessary expensive, and the software, IOS in particular, comes around like being build for children or teens instead of educated adults.

Seeing these videos, I am wondering why is this channel so underrated? Great info all around, fanrastic production quality, odd.
Thanks so much!
These things take time 🙂
In the Philippines, when you open the box, and you change your mind, there's like I think 5% charge that you need to pay just to return the phone that you bought 5 seconds ago.
Very sensible video. Reasonable and utilitarian points.
Thank you!
And kinda curious why the switch back and forth, any ways I still love my iPhone 13 😌
Everytime I switch from a Galaxy S20 Ultra series to the latest iPhone Pro Max, I get bored after a while and switch back.
For me.... idk... even thought I can make my samsung phones animation speed faster or slower; there's something in my iPhone that feels like magic ✨️
Not being able to move apps to where I want them used to drive me spare. I'll maybe look at iPhone again next upgrade now that we can (somewhat) do it. Cheers for the video.
I'm a Windows desktop user, I don't think the iPhone will work right with my pc.
you can transfer files from pc/mac to usb drive then plug that drive into, phone ipad. but you can get files off your network also.
Oh for sure! But not as convenient as basically using the phone as an external SSD
@@PeteMatheson yeh, i know, but better than nothing. i mentioned networking, but in a different comment, it works PC to ipad/iphone i use.
Oh and I forgot the floating video function, and Split screen. I miss that too.
I know the benefits but your reasons specifically
Btw you can’t access Apple Inteligence right?
Question from an American. I thought you guys had universal healthcare. Why do you need health insurance?
Even though it’s free, the waiting lists are crazy long. Lots of people are waiting months, if not years for treatment. Thus taking out a private policy!
@ that makes sense. Thanks for the reply!
Bro according to you.
Which is more suitable for long term 5 to 6 yrs … ( smoother animation or faster ?
Luv from India 🇮🇳
Genuinely, either can be great. It just depends on what you prefer!
Many android phones coming with 7yr of updates now which helps
@ Thanx buddy ✌🏻
Enjoy your iPhone with Apple Intelligence (or the absence of it), we Android users are already on the cloud and flying with Gemini.
here in Canada the 16pro max 256gb is 1,749$ plus 261$ for taxe = 2,010 $ for a phone my gosh that is a lot of money . Where do people get that amount of money to buy this? credit card , be rich or save money two years to buy a phone like me .great video
In terms of features and the newest technology in phones every Android phone no matter the price is like an iPhone in 2035 😂
Fair review ❤
Thank you!
your argument is to just switch every smart device in my home to Apple just because i want to switch to iPhone
In the US, Apple Card is their number one tool to lock in in my opinion.
We should call Apple's ecosystem an ecotrap. Seriously. And I am not even being negative here.
I tried the Apple ecosystem, but I couldn't see myself fully utilizing it, even though I'm aware of all its features.
Love this video ❤
Thank you!
We've lost another one.... 😔
Jk its aight
"Balanced as all things should be." -Thanos
😂 I’m on both!
@PeteMatheson wait that's actually better 😆 btw are you still gonna make videos abt both iPhones and Android stuff plzz 🙏
9:00 for this pay thing, Indians get an exception thanks to UPI
I respect your decision but I don’t think I will be ever able to switch to Android. Apple is just the best!
Both are great! Each to their own 😀
I just switched from Android from over 12 year to iPhone. I will not be changing back. It just works better in my opinion
😊
Try honor 200 or vivo x200 pro , u will love it
Have the 200 Pro! On the V3 now 😀
idk, iPhones are for the severely impressionable and financially irresponsible imo.
So basically, no phone is perfect and everyone can buy whatever phone they wish 😆
@PeteMatheson pretty much!
If you had to chose s23 or iPhone 13 mini. ? Just curious
I always get disappointed when you make this version of these videos lol
Just gotta balance the scales 😬
@PeteMatheson just messin 😅 you do a great job keeping things even, man!
Very biased. Apple AI does what Samsung AI does but worse. So, to say it's more useful makes no sense.
iOS remains stable in the long run but it is definetly behind android in terms of everyday functionality. Apple is like Japan of mobile phones. Always one step forward and two steps back!! They will give you features like airdrop but won't give you the option to access location settings from control centre. I just don't understand these silly restrictions.
Keep your sanity- don't do it- stay with Android.
I'm not happy as I've switched from a samsung to an iphone. How do i get the apps that i paid a subscription for to transfer to apple from Google play. why is the iphone refusing to change the apple ID email from an email address i haven't used in 15 years!?
Enjoy lol.
well i didnt switch, i own both top end ones. only because Apple store has the best content creator stuff, NDI options, a hole bunch, and camera/video stuff. my first time back, since iphone 4 i think, been a long time. but i have had a ipad pro, most of the time, also.
Nice! Welcome back 🙂 Guessing most of those tools aren’t available or not as good from the play store?
@@PeteMatheson yeh not as much ndi, on the playstore, or other advanced apps. also, yes, they can be behind on features, also. App developers make more $$ with apple.
iPhone 13 will be better than my 13 Pro
Nice video :) Although this did the opposite for me. This made me decide to stay with my android :)
Switching from the Samsung a21s to my first iphone ever the iphone13 in a couple days
I have exclusively used androids for about 15 years and I finally bit the bullet and bought an iPhone 11 a few weeks ago. Amazing cameras, all my android friends keep asking me to take videos / photos with my iPhone because apple looks way better, keep in mind this phone was released like 4 years ago and most of them are sporting phones like a Pixel 8 Pro and a S24 Ultra
Never returning to android
You should try low budget android for better conclusion. You should use redmi phones or any 100$ smartphone but not samsung.
Using a nothing phone right now!
Not low low budget but still not Samsung £1k+!
@ well i suggest you try redmi note series or infinix phones.
What did you pay for dance monkey integration?😅
One million dollars! 👌🏼
These tech reviewers are all the same. Use apple products religiously. Puts a switch to android video out to draw in android viewers. Says they're switching back when its time to return or sell the review unit.
Like. Clockwork.
So you going back to iPhone or staying on the wild side?? Lol
I’ll forever be in both camps!
@PeteMatheson Yes I think it's mandatory to have both at this point
Samsung has a better ecosystem than Apple in my opinion
i think a pixel/windows ecosystem is better than just an Apple system. Pixel phone plus tablet is snappier and far more flexible. i much prefer the operating system. Apple have fallen behind with AI. I think Samsung is on a par with Apple now. They also make washing machines!
6:36 why did he yeet the raccoon 🦝?
Just get an iphone if u have money & dont want to think much😊
Do Americans know that other message apps exist??
I tried to go to the pixel 9 pro XL I returned it 3 days later. iPhone is just better
I'm a new iPhone daily user after Android for 12 years. Yeah, I'm not going back to Android
@@njpme it’s just hard to give the other a chance if you’ve been with one for so long. Pixel is a great phone just for me iPhone is better IMO
Apple products are less innovative, yet unnecessary expensive, and the software, IOS in particular, comes around like being build for children or teens instead of educated adults.
I have both even though the 16 is my main device. I am part of apples ecosystem and enjoy them.
Cool video,man!
Can you pls pin me?:)
pause.
“If you’re bored of using an Android, go for an iPhone.” That’s exactly the reason I switched from Android to iPhone 2 years ago. And never looked back lol.
For the sake of all manufactures, every human should have one phone, the latest iPhone. Right?
Assalamu alaikum hope you are well I am from Bangladesh I want to buy new iPhone iPhone 13 or 13 pro
2:33 why is it grman?
