I liked how they redeemed Isabela, making her have more depth than she initially appeared, plus her elation over no longer having to be the perfect "Golden Child."
Yeah, when happen the song What else I can do?, all of us realized that Isabella was much more than a golden girl, that was just an appearance, I loved seeing how she gets rid of that and in the end, finally she is herself
The tale of the Beast's redemption is absolutely beautiful. He and Belle develope so much chemistry over the course of the movie, and thanks to her, breaks the curse just in time to dave his life. Sometimes, love conquerors all.
Imagine a future film in the Zooptoia franchise, Tails from Zooptoia or sometjing else giving Bellwether a tragic backstory behind why she became a villain and hated predators to begin with it maybe had to do with her being bullied by predators in her childhood for her species and for having dwarfism and a shy disorder. Bellwether is just a vengeful and embittered kind of villain.

I love that Jumbaa has become a sort of Uncle Figure to Lilo and, from what I remember, does care for her, Nani, Stitch, and Pleakly, even if he’s not always open to showing it. Also, I like to imagine that, after her redemption, Anastasia loves to visit and check up on Cinderella when both have free time.
Maybe Anastasia became her lady royal / lady in waiting or maybe a special title so that she can visit anytime she wants. That’s something I’d see Cinderella doing
Best Disney and Pixar redemption arcs: Lightning McQueen in Cars (2006) Beast/Prince Adam in Beauty and the Beast (1991) Flynn Rider and Rapunzel in Tangled (2010) Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps in Zootopia (2016) Maui in Moana (2016) Mike in Monsters’ Inc. Loved the redemption arc they gave Lightning McQueen! He could have won the race, but instead he helped a fellow car who was about to retire finish his final race. It was a touching moment.
Lighting McQueen's redeemption arc is great and so is Nick Wilde's in Zooptoia (2016). Though Nick was honestly less of a jerk than Lightning originally was.
Best Examples of Disney and Pixar redemption arcs: Amos Shale and Copper and Chief’s in The Fox and the Hound and Dixie and Cash’s in The Fox and the Hound 2. Mowgli (Despite being more of a misbehaving child in a worse condition than Pinocchio than anti-hero.) and Bagheera and King Louie offscreen in The Jungle Book. Rabbit in the Winnie the Pooh franchise, also good as gold, same for Pete’s and Donald Duck’s in the Mickey Mouse franchise. Beast/Prince Adam and Fife in Beauty and the Beast, good as gold. Wreck-It-Ralph and Princess Vanellope and Sergeant Calhoun (Wreck-It-Ralph franchise depending on your point of view.) Princess Atta in A Bug’s Life and Mike, Sulley and Tylor in the Monsters’ Inc. franchise, also good as gold. Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson and Mirage in Cars and The Incredibles are also good as gold. Marlin and King Triton’s in Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid, also good as gold. Flynn Rider in Tangled, also good as gold. Jasper and Horce’s in 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch’s London Adventure. Maui in Moana, also good as gold. Hiro in Big Hero 6 is also good as gold. Joy in Inside Out is also good as gold. Nick Wilde, Chief Bogo and Judy Hopps in Zootopia are also good as gold. Gabby Gabby’s in Toy Story 4, and Ken’s in Toy Story 3 depending on your point of view. The anti-heroes of Raya and the Last Dragon, Hector, Miguel Isabella and Miguel’s family and matriarch in Coco and Enchanto, am I leaving any important ones out?
GREAT TOP! I like how Disney redeemed these characters throughout their movie or in sequels gave them another chance: Isabella Madrigal (I loved seeing how she gets rid of her appearance of golden girl, from there is one of my favs characters), Anastasia (I loved his redemption in Cinderella III, she just wanted someone to love her for being herself, she amends things and even when she said she didn't deserve it, the king told her that everyone deserves true love), Iago (He wasn't that bad, in the sequel he only followed Jafar's orders for fear, but later he released them and even sacrificed himself to defeat him) , Tinker Bell, Eugene, Dr. Jumba (Even in the sequel, I loved how he tried to save Stitch by building that machine). and Gabby Gabby (although at first she seemed a villain, in reality she only wanted the love of a child and she got it in the end)
Watch Mojo should make one for Universal Pictures animated characters same for 20th Century Fox animated characters and include Shrek and Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise, Alex from Madagascar (2005), (And maybe also Marty, Melman and Gloria because they can have their flaws too.), Manny, Diego, Peaches and Ethan from the Ice Age franchise and Jewel, Eduardo and Roberto from the Rio franchise, Sour Kangaroo and the WhoVille Council from Horton Hears a Who! (2008), Branch from the Trolls franchise and RJ from Over the Hedge (2006) and Rocket from Chicken Run (2000) and the two con artists from The Road to El Dorado (2000) and Zhen from Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024), Dru and Megamind and The Bad Guys from Descipable Me (2010), the 2010 film with the same name same for 2022 film and Porsha Crystal, Judith, Suki Lane and Mike from the Sing franchise.

Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home Ego the Living Planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Bad examples of twist villains in non-Pixar and Disney movies: Guy Gene in Turbo and Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
I absolutely loved Lilo and Stitch when I was a little kid watching this Disney movie. Its also very nice to see how Jumba's redemption arc was placed out of Stitch's persuasion to save Lilo. ☺️❤
Dave Seville and Samantha (Live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks movies not cartoons.), Jewel (Rio 2), Eduardo (Rio 2), Manny (Ice Age: Continental Drift and Collision Course), Beast (Belle’s Magical World), The live-action The Cat in the Hat, King Julien (Penguins of Madagascar), Gene (Wreck-It-Ralph), Conrad and Sally, Wreck-It-Ralph and Poppy (Ralph Breaks the Internet, Simba, Kiara and Kion (The Lion Guard), Trolls World Tour), Peaches (Ice Age: Continental Drift and Collision Course) and Mavis (Hotel Transylvania 2 and Hotel Tyranslviana 4, same for Johnny in the fourth movie.) plus Chancellor Neighsay, all bad examples of jerks with hearts of gold, more like jerks with hearts of jerk and anti-heroes, Miles, Ian and Zoe (Alvin and the Chipmunks), Mr. Brown (Paddington), Rabbit (Winnie the Pooh), Snowbell and Mrs. Little (Stuart Little), Amos Shale, Aunt Sarah, Cruella De Vil, Jasper and Horace, and Edgar (The Fox and the Hound, 101 Dalamatins and The Aristocats), Mike, Judith and Suki Lane (Sing 2), (Not counting Porsha Crystal and Meena.), Chief Bogo and Mayor Lionheart (Zooptoia not counting Nick Wilde or even Judy Hopps or Gideon Gray or Bellwether), J.J. Johnson, Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson (Cars), Carl Fredrickson (Up), King Triton, Beast, Timon, Simba, Petey and Chief and Mr. Krupp (Dog Man and Captain UnderPants) (The Lion King), Man in Yellow Cat/Ted Shackleford (Curious George (2006) depending on your point of view.), The Grinch, Fish from The Cat in the Hat, Guy am I, Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krabs, Gloria, Clover, And Marlene (Madagascar franchise) Stanley Pines, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Cera and Topsy from The Land Before Time franchise, Officer Dibble, Ranger Smith and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Batman and Lucy in The Lego Movie franchise, Top Cat and Yogi Bear, (Depending on your point of view.) Gallus, Smolder, Branch (Trolls), Garble, Starlight, Tempest Shadow, Ember, Queen Novo, Trixie, (Green Eggs and Ham), Once-Ler and his family and Shrek, Lord Farquaad, Captain Gutt, and Manny outside of Continental Drift and Collision Course and Mike Wasakoki and Maui and Flynn all good examples of jerks with hearts of gold and anti-heroes.
I love how much you see Jumba’s empathy emerge when he sees just how scared and desperate Nani is. Even just the way Pleakley is trying to play by the rules and Jumba kinda pushes him aside to show a little more compassion. It’s such a switch. Makes me wonder if he had/has a sister himself. 😭
Nick Wilde and Maui also have good character developments/redeemption arcs in Zooptoia (2016) and Moana (2016) they started off as stubborn selfish pessmistic jerks before becoming selfless and loyal and caring people who care about Judy Hopps and Moana.
Flynn Rider, Kuzco, and Lightning McQueen are my favourite jerks who got redeemed! Major props to their actors, too; Zachary Levi, David Spade, and Owen Wilson! You guys and legends! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
People love a good redemption story and Disney has plenty of these. My personal fav other than Kuzco’s is Anastasia Tremaine’s. During the events of the two sequels we got to see she’s just like any other person looking for love. She followed her own heart and renounced her past self. No long was she in the shadow of her cold hearted mother.
Next: WatchMojo Top Ten Blue Sky Studios and Fox Animation jerks who redeemed: Manny, Diego, Shira, Scrat and Peaches in the Ice Age franchise. Jewel, Roberto and Eduardo in the Rio franchise. Reggie in Free Birds. Sour Kangaroo in Horton Hears a Who! Lucy in The Peanuts Movie. Others I forgot to mention.
It’s not a competition they all have their own unique charm stop being toxic Modern Disney does it in just as great of a way They all have their own unique charm i’m sorry society has conditioned you to be miserable and cynical towards wholesome and heartwarming comfort media Seems really cute to me Sorry society has conditioned you to be such a bitter and jaded soul over something so wholesome That’s your loss Have a nice day .
What about Nick Wilde after he tricked and lied to Judy Hopps for getting him that Jumbo Pop and all before he was forced to help her find Mr. Otterton and then stood up for her when Chief Bogo asked for her badge back and then explained his tragic childhood to her?
The Return of Jafar might be a bad sequel but Iago’s redemption is the best part in the movie. He did feel guilty for not telling the truth about Jafar’s presence but he came around killing his master. Rest In Peace, Gilbert Gottfried
Finally! Somebody else who appreciates just how brilliant Lightning’s arc is. Cars is a very underrated movie and I’m glad you’re giving it the credit it deserves. Seeing McQueen go from a selfish, egotistical asshole to a kind, humble gentleman is so satisfying and believable! KACHOW!!! 🏎️⚡️
Next: WatchMojo Top Ten Sony Pictures Animation jerks who redeemed: Boog in Open Season. Tank in Surf’s Up 2: Wave Mania. Dracula and Mavis and Johnny plus Ericka and Abraham Van Helsing in the Hotel Transylvania franchise. Gene Meh and Hi-Five in The Emoji Movie. Prowler/Uncle Aaron in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Bret and Barb in the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs films. Zeta and Leonardo in The Angry Birds Movie franchise. Others I forgot to mention.
Gabby Gabby isn’t exactly a jerk either but rather a sympathetic person. She might be a doll and have creepy henchmen but all she wanted was to be with a kid
Not in my opinion. I really tried to like him but just can’t like womanizers that want a crown. 😅 some old habits don’t just change over night. Not very realistic.
You forgot that Sully was a jerk at the beginning of Monsters University, Yes that movie is a prequel but I think it still counts because his redemption arc was beautiful.
I would add Basil from The Great Mouse Detective. He does start off as a bit selfish due to his prickly, arrogant and self-centered ignoring Olivia and Dawson and only thrilled of solving the case that really matters to him, which is why Olivia Flaversham comes to ask for his help and he almost dismisse her immediately. At the thing that causes him to lose sleep is not the idea of other mice being in danger, but the thought of not truimphing in the great mystery that he has tried for so long to solve, and the only reason he actually ends up chossing to help Olivia is because she ends up being connected to this great mystery that he wants to sovle. However, without even realizing it, him teaming up with Dawson and Miss Flaversham is exactly that he needs to overcome his flaws, since the first thing Dawson did is when he meets Olivia in a boot was feeling sorry for what happened to her and offered to help her find her Father because he cared. Which is exactly the kind of thing that Basil is lacking, Basil only starts to notice these flaws that he has due to the fact that those around him don't have the same problems that he has. Such as when after Olivia got captured by Fidget, he sees Dawson feeling sad about it and he comes to realize that perhaps he isn't thinking about this the right way, but even then, he still struggles to focus on her more than Ratigan's plan which almost ends terribly for him. Over the course of his adventure, he comes to appreciate Dawson and Flaversham to the point that in the finale, he actually does care more about saving Olivia then stopping Ratigan. He grows as a person to which is why he wants Dawson to work with him in the future, because he knows that if he goes back to being on his own, he may have lose sight of what is truly important once again and start to become overly obsessed with his Mysterious. But with Dawson by his side, he can prevent him from going astray and keep him on the right path and together, they can become an Unstoppable Duo.
That doesn’t surprise me at all. Kuzco is selfish even when he turned into a llama. After knowing the truth from Yzma, he went back to Pacha and change his mind about Kuzcotopia
Another Disney character who got redemption is Dimitri from Anastasia, he started as a greedy jerk who wanted nothing but money, but after his relationship with Anastasia, he realised that money is not everything.
In my mind, one character that deserves to be on this list has to be King Triton (even as an honorable mention). Especially since he redeems himself not only by saving Ariel's life with his own, but he also comes around to accepting Eric and giving his daughter legs for her to be with him.
Love the character development of Eugene and Anastasia and lighting McQueen!!to see how they went from jerky then ended up changing for the better!!! Also love Adam/The Beast and Kenai must look to new perspectives to better themselves and everyone they meet!!!
Kuzco has literally the ultimate jerk redemption arc, but it seems that Disney is afraid nowdays to create unlikeable characters that could get redeemed
I'm amazed you didn't have Tramp from Lady and the Tramp on there. He caused Lady so much anxiety over the arrival of a new baby, got her in trouble and put in the pound, where his womanizing ways were revealed to her. But eventually he realizes that nothing else matters but his love for Lady. When the baby is in danger from a looming rat and Lady is unable to help, Tramp puts his freedom in jeopardy to save the baby he previously would have had no regard for. His redemption is rewarded with him being adopted Lady and her family.
I wouldn’t call Ralph a jerk. He was just a bad guy that wanted a medal. He was full of himself but it didn’t hurt to befriend a video game princess Vanellope
I knew right from the start that number one was gonna be either the beast or kuzco. I’m also glad that Kenai at least made it to the honorable mentions; aside from learning that bears are not the heartless creatures Kenai believed they were, but he also learns why love is a precious totem to have. Also it’s a nice detail that he starts off as the youngest brother, and then becomes the oldest brother in the end choosing to be there for Koda the same way Sitka was there for him and Denahi.
By the time Belle arrives, Beast was in that spell for 10 years, and he had until his 21st birthday to change back. That means he was only 11 when the Enchantress arrived!
Good Examples of Jerks with Hearts of Gold: Mr. Brown (Paddington) Snowbell and Mrs. Little (Stuart Little) Shrek (Shrek franchise) Garfield (The Garfield franchise, except in the live-action movies and direct to video trilogy.) Cera and Mr. Threehorn (The Land Before Time franchise, depending on your point of view.) Manny (Ice Age franchise, except in the fourth and fifth movies.) Peaches (Ice Age franchise, fourth and fifth movies depending on your point of view.) Jewel (Rio only) Chief Bogo and Mayor Lionheart (Zooptoia franchise) Twilight Sparkle, Gallus, Ember and Grandpa Gruff in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Wreck-It-Ralph Squidward Tentacles, Plankton and Mr. Krabs (SpongeBob SquarePants expect in the eighth and ninth seasons) Suki Lane, Judith and Mike (Sing) Dru and Megamind (Despicable Me and Megamind) Gloria and Clover (Madagascar franchise) Dracula (Hotel Transylvania franchise) Carl Fredrickson (Up)
Bad examples of Jerks with Hearts of Gold and more like Jerks with Hearts of Jerk: Reggie (Free Birds) Gene (The Emoji Movie and Wreck-It-Ralph) Jewel, Eduardo and Roberto (Rio 2) Dave Seville (Live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks movies) Chancellor Neighsay (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) Manny (Fourth and fifth Ice Age movies only) Wreck-It-Ralph (Ralph Breaks the Internet) Garfield (Live-action Garfield movies and direct to video trilogy.) Jon and Nermal (The Garfield Show)
I don't know that I consider Isabella "redeemed". I don't think she was all that bad to begin with; she just appeared that way to Mirabell's perspective. I always saw it as Mirabell finally realizing there was a lot more to her sister than she'd always assumed. And Ralph (at least in the first movie) was just looking for a little respect from the people in his game.
@@lilac3266 That seemed like a pretty normal sibling relationship. But that's my point, Isabella wasn't really the one who changed all that much. All she really did was loosen her restraints a little. Mirabel was the one that recognized that she'd never really understood her sister. That's way bigger.
@@darkkey19 well they both misunderstood each other. Mirabel thought her sisters life was perfect with no problems but isabela was secretly unhappy and isabela realized that her sister never had bad intentions she just wanted to help out
I was so disappointed that Lotso in Toy Story 3 never got a redemption arc and instead chose to leave Woody and his friends to die in the furnace although they get eventually saved by the three aliens.
OK, so the beast may have been a bit of a jerk, but first of all, as kids, we were told not to open the door for strangers. That's literally what got him cursed. He was an 11-year-old kid that didn't open the door to a for boating woman. Second of all, where does the enchantress get off cursing, not only the prince, who is a child, but people, including a little kid and a puppy that had nothing to do with it?
Here are some possible reasons: 1) In the absence of the Prince's parents, his servants had sole charge of him. Thus they could have occasionally said "No" when he misbehaved...but apparently they didn't. 2) As they had to take care of the Beast, humans might have been tempted to lock him up like a zoo animal. As household objects, they could *only* function as servants, with no power over the Beast. 3) In his beastly form, the Prince would (and did) continue to grow and age. On the other hand, the servants, as utensils and as furniture, were immune to aging, which helps explain why it was that Chip looked and acted about eight years old when he was restored to human form, even though the spell lasted about ten years. (No, Mrs. Potts did not give birth to him while she was a teapot, lol) Therefore, when the spell was broken, the servants had not lost any years of their human lives and could just pick up where they left off. Mind you, the above reasons are all speculation on my part, but I've had a lot of time to think them out, since the time I first saw *BatB*: in November 1991, upon its original theatrical release. I've seen it about a dozen times since then and it is still probably my favorite pre-Pixar Disney. Only *Frozen* and *Frozen 2* have come close to toppling *Beast* from its throne in my heart.
I was surprised that Beast wasn’t number one and couldn’t figure out who would be number one 😂 Then number one came on and I was like “Oh yeah! That makes sense!”
Okay first off Isabella wasn’t a jerk, she was just a tad bit sassy towards Mirabel, sisters are like that and Mirabel wasn’t the nicest to Isabella either Abuela is the one who should be on the list since her putting pressure on her family is what cause the miracle to fade
she was a jerk to mirabel and mirabel was a jerk back. The feelings were entirely mutual but the movie is from mirabels perspective so until she has that realization that her sister has also been struggling the audience share the same views as her
Even in the sequel Return to Neverland. Tinker Bell didn’t even like Wendy’s daughter Jane. Eventually, she was bought back to life as Jane started to believe in fairies and Tink forgives her
My favorite redeemed jerk is Lightning McQueen, because of his incredible performance on The King after Chick Hicks violently crashed him on the last lap of the Los Angeles tie breaker race.
Max Goof is a good example as well because he had a toxic, one-sided relationship with his father in the sequel, An Extremely Goofy Movie. Throughout most of the film, he was a selfish and arrogant young man who foolishly believed that going to college meant that he didn’t have to put up with Goofy’s silliness anymore. But it isn’t until the climax of the film where he has a change of heart towards his father as he finally learns that just because he’s an adult starting a new life doesn’t necessarily mean that he shouldn’t stay connected with his family. He needs to learn how to understand his father’s perspective in life and that it’s okay to accept his quirks even if he is a little goofy.
They should make a movie of him as an adult and married with kids. He has trouble bonding with his kids and he goes to his dad for help. Just a thought.
Max Goof was a jerk in the goofy movies particularly the sequel. He should’ve been on this list. He just didn’t knew how fortunate to have his father in his life despite his imperfections and wanting to be a part of his life.
I'm so glad to see Emperor Cuzco at Number 1. While he starts out as such an entitled and ruthless snob, he was still entertaining, and ends up becoming quite a likeable character, in the end.
How can fame go to his headlights when he doesn’t have any? They are just stickers. As Lightning McQueen himself said it best in the film, “racecars don’t need headlights, because the track is always lit“
Iago's redemption in The Return Of Jafar isn't something to take lightly. That's why when I watched House Of Mouse as a kid, it frustrated me to see Iago on Jafar's shoulder.
The kindest thing that Lightning McQueen did was during the final race in California instead of winning the piston cup for himself he gave it up and he kindly pushed the king to the finish line
He got a realization that he’s a jerk to Mei plus character development in mere seconds when Mei tackled him in the party, unexpected instant redemption
@@gerardgarcia8501 Good point. However, you might think that Tyler would have been deathly afraid of the Panda after that incident, as Sid became afraid of toys in "Toy Story" when Woody told him to, "Play nice."
@@gerardgarcia8501 I think Tyler's redemption was somewhat forced on him when Mei-Mei noticed him at the concert and they welcomed him into the "sisterhood" even though he was unwilling at first.
@@thomaslevy2119 I thought his redemption was him apologizing to mei and realizing he was a jerk and Mei attacking him with her scratching his cheek was his karma(still too much though)
Kenai's toxicity literally got people killed. He was far worse than a jerk. His redemption saved so many more lives. Deserved to place on this list and place high.
Nice to see you again Ms Mojo , and it was a Nice top as well. I wish you a happy thursday and i hope i see you soon for more. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia.
I feel like anyone from zootopia would be good for this list considering all the prejudices that happen in the movie. Chief Bogo treated Judy terribly just because she’s a rabbit and purposely set her up on her first case to fail, but after a confrontation with Nick and Judy proving herself, he became more willing to accept others. Nick Wilde started off as a con artist and had a low opinion of Judy and even tried to impede her investigation. He also only agreed to help Judy after she blackmailed him with him admitting he committed tax evasion. He later realizes how badly she’s treated by the police force and stands up for her and genuinely starts to help her and even revealed his tragic past. Even Judy Hopps who had her own minor prejudice towards foxes and even carried repellent around even after she and Nick became friends while also blackmailing him into helping her. At the end she fixes her mistakes and starts treating all animals as equals and abandons her prejudice against foxes
Love Flynn sooo much. Not sure if I want to be him or I want to marry him. I am a tomboy so my love for Tinkerbell always shocks me. I even own half her movies in Italian. Random and weird, I know. Also, I really need to watch Brother Beat and Emperor's Ne Groove.
I think that Kuzco is the number 1 Disney jerk that got redemption but I’m not sure if Ralph can be Considered a Jefk maybe more in the sequel than the first one.
I always wanted to know... If the Enchantress from Beauty and the Beast punished the Beast that harshly for being unloving... What did she REWARD those who showed her caring and compassion? Like, did she shower them with gifts or just leave them be? Head-scratcher for sure...🤨
This is what I'd do if I stole the Zodiac Stone from the Vicious 6. Me: So I guess you guys have everything under control, right? Belle Bottom: Yes, you get out now. Me: Ok, fine! But even if you needed my help, I wouldn't be able to help you anyway. Belle Bottom: Why not? Because you're a tubby, little punk? Me: No, it's because...5:05 Belle Bottom: What? (Looks at where the Zodiac Stone's holding place, notices it's gone and GASPS) He took the stone.

I liked how they redeemed Isabela, making her have more depth than she initially appeared, plus her elation over no longer having to be the perfect "Golden Child."
Yeah, when happen the song What else I can do?, all of us realized that Isabella was much more than a golden girl, that was just an appearance, I loved seeing how she gets rid of that and in the end, finally she is herself
she reminds mea lot of Elsa
Turns out, she didn't even want to marry Mariano. She was just doing it for the family.
It was a good addition😉
Me too! I have 2 sisters (and brothers) and they're my favorite people in the world
The tale of the Beast's redemption is absolutely beautiful. He and Belle develope so much chemistry over the course of the movie, and thanks to her, breaks the curse just in time to dave his life. Sometimes, love conquerors all.
And this is why beauty and the beast is my most favourite Disney film
"dave" his life?
Typos are silly!

And sometimes Jumba serves as the Voice of Reason to Lilo and Stitch.
Maybe Anastasia became her lady royal / lady in waiting or maybe a special title so that she can visit anytime she wants. That’s something I’d see Cinderella doing

Having at least one redeemable character in movies is a classic trope played out by Disney and Pixar, It never fails.
They wouldn't be Disney movies if they didn't have such characters.
👍👍👍👍👍
Most of us like watching movies with only jerks in it, no good people at all
Honestly, I didn't even notice about that trope being included in a Disney movie. That's intriguing 🤔
so the Huntsman started it all???

- Charles Xavier
Loved the redemption arc they gave Lightning McQueen! He could have won the race, but instead he helped a fellow car who was about to retire finish his final race. It was a touching moment.
Lighting McQueen's redeemption arc is great and so is Nick Wilde's in Zooptoia (2016). Though Nick was honestly less of a jerk than Lightning originally was.
Best Examples of Disney and Pixar redemption arcs:
Amos Shale and Copper and Chief’s in The Fox and the Hound and Dixie and Cash’s in The Fox and the Hound 2.
Wreck-It-Ralph and Princess Vanellope and Sergeant Calhoun (Wreck-It-Ralph franchise depending on your point of view.)
Princess Atta in A Bug’s Life and Mike, Sulley and Tylor in the Monsters’ Inc. franchise, also good as gold.
The anti-heroes of Raya and the Last Dragon,
Hector, Miguel Isabella and Miguel’s family and matriarch in Coco and Enchanto, am I leaving any important ones out?
Oh and who can forget the hyenas like Janja and jackals like Rerei and Dogo and Konvo and Timon in The Lion King franchise?
And that’s why I love him

Guy Gene in Turbo and Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
I absolutely loved Lilo and Stitch when I was a little kid watching this Disney movie. Its also very nice to see how Jumba's redemption arc was placed out of Stitch's persuasion to save Lilo. ☺️❤

Why not include Nick Wilde, I guess he is not a true anti-hero right?
At first I disliked Isabela cause she was “the golden child”, but at the end I could relate to her a lot more than I realized.
Flynn's character development is really good. He went from a selfish jerk to a man who slowly cares about Rapunzel.
How was he selfish exactly?

Finding redemption is a beautiful thing and CLASSIC Disney did it better than Modern Disney
There are good redemption stories in modern Disney like Wreck It Ralph, Tangled, and Zootopia
It’s not a competition they all have their own unique charm stop being toxic
Modern Disney does it in just as great of a way
They all have their own unique charm

What about Nick Wilde after he tricked and lied to Judy Hopps for getting him that Jumbo Pop and all before he was forced to help her find Mr. Otterton and then stood up for her when Chief Bogo asked for her badge back and then explained his tragic childhood to her?
oh yeah, he was missing from the list

The Return of Jafar might be a bad sequel but Iago’s redemption is the best part in the movie. He did feel guilty for not telling the truth about Jafar’s presence but he came around killing his master.
Rest In Peace, Gilbert Gottfried
Finally! Somebody else who appreciates just how brilliant Lightning’s arc is. Cars is a very underrated movie and I’m glad you’re giving it the credit it deserves. Seeing McQueen go from a selfish, egotistical asshole to a kind, humble gentleman is so satisfying and believable!

Bret and Barb in the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs films.

I think "exhaust pipe hole" would be a more suitable phrase in the Cars world.
Gabby Gabby isn’t exactly a jerk either but rather a sympathetic person. She might be a doll and have creepy henchmen but all she wanted was to be with a kid
5:37 The moment I saw Eugene cut Rapunzel's hair, I got scared, especially every time it came up, but after a while, I overcame it.
Despite being a criminal, Eugene Fitzherbert was somewhat of a likable jerk
Not in my opinion. I really tried to like him but just can’t like womanizers that want a crown. 😅 some old habits don’t just change over night. Not very realistic.
@@Shastasnow bruh what how was he a womanizer and he never knew rapunzel was a princess
he wasn’t even a jerk though lol
hell yeah
@Joanna, if you watch Disney Movies for the realism, you must be frequently disappointed
You forgot that Sully was a jerk at the beginning of Monsters University, Yes that movie is a prequel but I think it still counts because his redemption arc was beautiful.
I figured McQueen would make it on this list, he's always a necessity for redeemed Disney jerks.
When people grow to care for someone, it can help them see how to become a better person.
And the Beast/Prince Adam is an excellent example of that.
Merida should be on the list because she had a toxic relationship with her mother.
That is a good point.
To be fair would u blame her 😂
I would add Basil from The Great Mouse Detective.
I wasn't expecting Lightning to be on this list.

12:26 How Is Ralph a jerk?! He’s a victim of neglect who just wants to be recognized
As an honorable mention I’d throw in Big Baby from Toy Story 3.
Good one!
And the rest of the minions except lotso.
Another Disney character who got redemption is Dimitri from Anastasia, he started as a greedy jerk who wanted nothing but money, but after his relationship with Anastasia, he realised that money is not everything.
That's not a Disney movie.
@@vetarlittorf1807 well Disney does own 20 century fox
@@waluigifantoychicaac358 So? Disney still didn't make it.
@@vetarlittorf1807 That's right, Don Bluth did.
yeah, he was missing from the list, he has a great redemption
In my mind, one character that deserves to be on this list has to be King Triton (even as an honorable mention). Especially since he redeems himself not only by saving Ariel's life with his own, but he also comes around to accepting Eric and giving his daughter legs for her to be with him.
I never even thought of Triton. Great suggestion!
As a former (but still sassy) criminal, this guy here is a sucker for character redemptions.😉😊💜
Love the character development of Eugene and Anastasia and lighting McQueen!!to see how they went from jerky then ended up changing for the better!!! Also love Adam/The Beast and Kenai must look to new perspectives to better themselves and everyone they meet!!!
Kuzco has literally the ultimate jerk redemption arc, but it seems that Disney is afraid nowdays to create unlikeable characters that could get redeemed
define nowadays because they definitely did that in the last 2 years
I'm amazed you didn't have Tramp from Lady and the Tramp on there.
I like MEET THE ROBINSONS, CARS, and the honorable mention of WRECK-IT RALPH. I also love ENCANTO, MOANA, and the honorable mention of TOY STORY 4.
Finally some Anastasia appreciation
I bet they got that idea from the 1998 movie Ever After, where Jacqueline turns against her mother to help Danielle.
So happy to see Anastasia, Kuzco and the Beast on the list.
Lightning’s redemption arc was one of the best ones i’ve seen, the way he goes from a total jerk to someone who values sportsmanship is touching.
By the time Belle arrives, Beast was in that spell for 10 years, and he had until his 21st birthday to change back. That means he was only 11 when the Enchantress arrived!
A grown woman upset a young child said no to a stranger than tried to apologize when she get very mad Lmao

Fun Fact: Drizella was supposed to be the stepsister to redeem herself in Cinderella 3
b-but how???
out of the 2 she's the most mean + violent and usually starts the conflict (after being egged on by Tremaine)
WHAT?! One, that’s crazy and two, I like Anastasia better
I agree.
the entire movie is from mirabels perspective and it’s obvious from the beginning isabela and mirabels strained relationship was mutual
Mirabel thought her sisters life was perfect with no problems but isabela was secretly unhappy and isabela realized that her sister never had bad intentions she just wanted to help out
I like what they did for Anastasia. At first I did hate her but I like her character development
I was so disappointed that Lotso in Toy Story 3 never got a redemption arc and instead chose to leave Woody and his friends to die in the furnace although they get eventually saved by the three aliens.
What he did to the toys was unforgivable
How come Prince Naveen not on this list, along w/ Hiro Hamada?
Can we replace him with Flynn? 😂
@@Shastasnow Naveen or Hiro?
Iago's redemption is why I love him, he's my favorite Disney villain sidekick ever since I saw him when I was little.
It’s pretty fitting that Maui stole the Heart of Te Fiti, as he certainly stole all our hearts.
Here are some possible reasons:
1) In the absence of the Prince's parents, his servants had sole charge of him.
Watching these characters felt like they got a good redemption arc none of them actually turned out to be really bad guys in the end
KUZCO hasn’t changed; he’s still a jerk. After what Kenai did to Koda’s mother…well needless to say that he learned a valuable lesson.

Isabella wasn’t a jerk, she was just a tad bit sassy towards Mirabel, sisters are like that and Mirabel wasn’t the nicest to Isabella either
Abuela is the one who should be on the list since her putting pressure on her family is what cause the miracle to fade
Actually she was a jerk
No she was a jerk
she was a jerk to mirabel and mirabel was a jerk back.

I knew Kuzco would make it at number one.
Iago's redemption in The Return Of Jafar isn't something to take lightly. That's why when I watched House Of Mouse as a kid, it frustrated me to see Iago on Jafar's shoulder.
Mama Imelda - "Coco" (2017)
I loved Coco.
@@marthagilbert3459 so do I
@@marthagilbert3459 As do I.
I love movie characters who can redeemed themselfes!
The kindest thing that Lightning McQueen did was during the final race in California instead of winning the piston cup for himself he gave it up and he kindly pushed the king to the finish line
Kuzco definitely deserves to be at the number one spot.
You forgot to mention Tyler from "Turning Red." He went from the bully who teased Mei-Mei to a member of her friend squad. Quite a turn-around!
@@thomaslevy2119
Thank god Ming stopped Mei before Tyler got 100% scarred
@@gerardgarcia8501 I think Tyler's redemption was somewhat forced on him when Mei-Mei noticed him at the concert and they welcomed him into the "sisterhood" even though he was unwilling at first.
@@thomaslevy2119
I thought his redemption was him apologizing to mei and realizing he was a jerk and Mei attacking him with her scratching his cheek was his karma(still too much though)
Kenai's toxicity literally got people killed. He was far worse than a jerk. His redemption saved so many more lives. Deserved to place on this list and place high.
Hey who doesn’t like a good redemption arc am I right?
I do like these jerk, turned nice person story arcs. There are so many of these characters in animation.
@@marthagilbert3459 They should really do Top 10 Best Redemption Arcs in Cartoons!
Nice to see you again Ms Mojo , and it was a Nice top as well. I wish you a happy thursday and i hope i see you soon for more. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia.
Grumpy from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,
Long John Silver from Treasure Planet
and Kerchak from Tarzan.
Glad you added Jumba! now he is Uncle Jumba
thanks
You were right to pick kuzco as number one
I recognize all of these Disney and Pixar redeemed characters
I think that Kuzco is the number 1 Disney jerk that got redemption but I’m not sure if Ralph can be Considered a Jefk maybe more in the sequel than the first one.
To be fair Ralph had no choice since u really couldn’t leave who u are in games
I knew Kuzco was gonna be number one.
So obvious but you can’t help but see who made the list
Beast, Goob, and Kenai weren't jerks. They were just broken, like Megamind.
Eugene deserves to be higher. In the top 3. Along with Maui and Beast.
I always wanted to know... If the Enchantress from Beauty and the Beast punished the Beast that harshly for being unloving... What did she REWARD those who showed her caring and compassion? Like, did she shower them with gifts or just leave them be? Head-scratcher for sure...🤨
You mean 625. Jumba didn’t give his creations a name
Belle has Stockholm syndrome, of course she fell in love with her capture
14:13 maybe I would be good for the voice of Kuzco if they ever made a live action remake
Me: No, it's because...5:05
Belle Bottom: What? (Looks at where the Zodiac Stone's holding place, notices it's gone and GASPS) He took the stone.
Very Funny!
@KSAM428 Yeah, I mean, can you imagine how it would be if that scene was like this?
When kuzco turned into a Llama he learns respect and humility
I love Flynn Rider AKA Eugene Fitzherbert like a brother.
Flynn Rider is basically a Han Solo character.
