And BOY has that ever stuck with the entire audience. Like, just about any superhero with a cape or capes are mentioned nowadays, the comment section is a whole bunch of people quoting Edna.
Heck. I remember when I was a little boy, I was at a superhero themed birthday party, i forgot who it was for, but while we wore masks and stuff, I was the only one who didn’t wear a cape.
There's a fan theory that when Syndrome started out his revenge plan, he went to Edna to have her make him a super suit, & since she missed those days she probably was alright with making him a suit, but she included the cape because she sensed he wanted it for bad reasons & thought it could backfire on him like it did for other Supers.
Either that or he demanded one and she went "fine" but knew he'd use it for evil which is why she didn't push her No Capes rule on him like she did for Bob
I noticed that quite a few years ago--but then I would imagine I'm quite a bit older than you, lol. Another object used in foreshadowing in that movie is the clock. Notice in the scene of Cinderella's early morning activities (in which she sings "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes"), when she calls the city clock "Old killjoy!" and tells her animal friends, "Even *he* [meaning the clock] orders me around!" Then, later on, as the hired carriage arrives at Cinderella's house, we see the clock again, signifying to Cinderella that she won't be able to go to the ball (she doesn't know the mice and birds have been making other plans). Finally, at the ball, we see the clock again when it begins to strike midnight (once again, it is "ordering her around").
Another hint to Ernesto's true nature is that in the old film that Miguel watches at the beginning, he's only seen playing the guitar in a close up, presumably a double's hands.
I remember when I first watched Coco, and Miguel introduces himself as Ernesto’s great-great grandson, and Ernesto’s like, “I have a great-great-grandson?” I immediately knew something was up considering Imelda’s real husband had left her and her child. If you left your family and never came back (cuz you died), naturally youd think the family would have grown bigger over the years so that you could have grandchildren.
There's fan theory that the old woman at the beginning of the film is Anton Ego's mother. The old woman wore pink like Anton's mother in his flashback, & she clearly had experience in cooking, hence how Remy was able to learn from her cookbooks. Also, it's believed that given the flashback we get from Anton's childhood, he's so critical of other cooks because no one in his mind will ever be better than his mother. So, when Anton eats Remy's food, it reminds him of his mother who's probably too old to cook anymore, & it brings an additional meaning of the phrase "just like mom used to make."
Another thing about "Love is an Open Door" is that Hans is regularly behind Anna in whatever they're doing (singing, dancing, climbing to the roof, etc), he looks genuinely shocked when Anna says "Sandwiches", and just in general the whole song doesn't sound right, like Anna and Hans are singing two different songs. Also, there's the song's placement in the movie, being in this first half of the movie, when most Disney love songs happen near the 2/3 mark, a few minutes before the climax.
Makes total sense. "Fixer Upper" which is an attentive love song about Anna and Kristoff is placed near the 2/3 mark. This song lures the audience to believe in those two since Anna spent more time with Kristoff and Hans. That can lead them to believe that Hans might be too good to be true. That's what happened at my first watch. Still, that betrayal hurts.
It's incredible how Disney makes use of the foreshadowing.. But I haven't notice in the Lion King, that at the same time Mufasa said the sun will set on my kingdom, his later death happens also in the sundown 😢
I also thought that Kocoum's death in Pocahontas was also foreshadowed when John Smith taught Thomas to "keep both eyes open when you shoot." Thomas used that very piece of advice when he shot Kocoum to save John.
I love Edna mode she’s my favourite from the incredibles, I actually thought she designed syndrome to have a cape to be his down fall just a theory tho
I thought that 'Love is an Open Door' was going to lead to the fact that he closes the door so she can't call for help or escape once it's clear that he doesn't love her.
"Love is an open door" catched me since the first watch, Prince Hans Seemed so good to be true. Have a happy saturday afternoon, Emily. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
If I were you guys, I'd replace Hans being the villain the entire time (a crappy twist one at that) with Jim Hawkins' solar-surfing skills in Treasure Planet. We see him riding on his solar-surfer at the beginning of the movie and near the end, when he and the crew are trying to escape while Treasure Planet's self-destructing, they realize that they don't have very much time left to avoid getting destroyed by the explosion. Jim sees the portal and that gives him an idea. The only way they can survive is by going through the portal and return to the Montressor Spaceport in one piece. Only he can use the holographic navigator to activate the button that leads to the spaceport. When a large chunk of debris lands on the ship, he gets another idea. Have John Silver use the debris to quickly make a solar-surfer out of it (minus the solar sail) so that Jim can be able to reach the portal in time. At the very last second, he succeeds just as the whole titular planet blows up right behind everyone and they all arrive back at the spaceport safe and sound. But as usual, you excluded the underrated masterpiece from this list in favor of that wretched and overrated Frozen. 🙄
To add to the Wreck-It Ralph entry on the list, Turbo abandoned his game as an attempt to be the star of the other game. He, for the most part, achieved that as King Candy as the ruler of Sugar Rush, dethroning Vanellope. Also, Sugar Rush is a racing game, much like the game Turbo was originally from.
Another thing that the Queen foreshadowed herself "She's be buried alive" she ends up getting "Buried alive" by the boulder that crushes her at the end.
4:30: Not only that, but during this part of the number, you can literally see Bruno creeping by hunched over on the second floor balcony behind them. Not only that, but after the part at where you cut the clip short, you can see him right in between the two looking down at them grooving with the rhythm. It's almost like Disney WANTED us to know he'd been inside the house all along. Or they were so confident that it was such a great segment that somebody said "Hey, I'll bet we could even put him right there in the scene and they still wouldn't know he was inside the house all along." 16:30: The most telling thing of all is nothing that you mentioned. It's that King Candy knows who Ralph is, and knows what it means when someone has "gone Turbo", in contrast to the other new video game character, Sergeant Calhoun, who needed to be told these things. What this reveals is that King Candy has been in the arcade longer than Sugar Rush.
in the original novel Esmeralda wasn't sentenced to burning but hanging (since her witchcraft crime also included attempted murder of Phoebus), and in the end Esmeralda died; at the charnel house people discovered a pair of skeletons: a deformed one (presumed Quaismodo) hugging another (presumed Esmeralda, Quasimodo having sought her corpse from the gallows), and when they tried to separate the couple Quasimodo's skeleton crumbled to dust since you mentioned animal transformation stories...in Greek myth Thebes was depicted as the center of most of the transformation stories and it's very telling for Disney's "Hercules": in the original myth, his "biological" mortal family & Megara were associated with the royal family of Thebes, and the film's city plotline was set in Thebes tragically StratoGale was only a teenager when she died
Here's a question on the monster inc....who created the steel door thats in Napal? I mean they make the doors to match the human world's but what building was in the mountains for them to make a steel door up in the mountains?
That’s an interesting question. Maybe it’s not supposed to match anything and it’s just used to transport banished monsters? Cuz when Boo opens her door on the human world side it reveals the inside of her closet. But the steel door doesn’t open into anything when Sully reopens it. It’s just the frame like the deactivated doors in the door vault. Hmmm 🤔
The fact clone wars was targeted at kids is insane sometimes, the umbara arc alone is insane, a rouge jedi commander sends his troops on suicide missions, the clones mutiny with their own suicide mission and then after a friendly fire incident there’s the execution on screen
Those are some excellent moments of foreshadowing in Disney movies. Did you know that Edna’s stance on not including a cape with a suit and Syndrome’s death was foreshadowed much earlier in the film? It’s in the scene near the start of the film when Mr Incredible tried to apprehend Bomb Voyage at the bank and Buddy was interfering with the arrest. As Buddy was about to leave, Bomb Voyage placed a bomb on his cape and this caused Mr Incredible to grab onto Buddy’s cape to get the bomb off as he flies away. Which in turn allowed Bomb Voyage to escape. This moment not only foreshadows Buddy’s eventual demise, but also the mere fact that capes are a big hinderance to superheroes because if Mr Incredible didn’t notice that there was a bomb on Buddy’s cape, he would have died and if Buddy didn’t wear a cape in that moment, Bomb Voyage wouldn’t have placed a bomb on him.
One hint that’s really good in my opinion is Incredible’s 2 when Evelyn’s comment of her and Winston’s parents would’ve been safer in the safe room. Another excellent use of foreshadowing in Zootopia is Belleweather telling Judy “Us little guys have to stick together.” and Judy replies with “like glue” hinting at the formers motives.
I can't believe I just recently realized that Toy Story 3's opening scene is one big foreshadowing to the incinerator scene. This is why I love rewatches.
I don't know if this counts but in Mulan - I'll make a man out of you: "Did they send me daughters(Mulan) when I asked...for sons.(Her father)" Later: "Your not fitted for...the rage of war. So pack up go home your through... How could I...make a man...out of you..."(She's a literal woman) I think it was a bit foreshadowed how He will find out.
My favorite is Zootopia's foreshadowing & The Lion King when Mufasa said "The great kings of the past will be there to guide you." to little Simba and how the Pride Lands will sunset on Mufasa's time as ruler and will sunrise with Simba as the new king.
A good portion of my childhood had been in the kitchen, helping my mom with cooking/baking. Not only did that spark my love for the culinary arts, but those were some of the most precious memories. So “A Mother’s Love” hits deep.
@@kkdeeartist2474 I disagree. I was disappointed in Encanto. Raya & the Last Dragon, Onward, Strange World, and ESPECIALLY Turning Red I liked much more.
I thought for Toy Story 2 and 3, she was going to mention Woody's nightmare in Toy Story 2 when he's worried he'll get thrown in a trash can cause his arm is ripped with creepy toy limbs. And how that foreshadows in Toy Story 3, when Andy puts the toys in a trash bag and Andy's Mom mistakenly takes them out to the curb for the garbage and then the mentioned landfill scene. So I was surprised when she mentioned Stinky Pete's quote instead.
I feel like Facilier's reaction to nearly losing the pendant also foreshadows how he'd be defeated; If it breaks, he'll basically die. And that's exactly what happens; Tiana breaks it and he's gone. I'm feeling like I could also be overthinking it, but Ray's Evangeline (spelling's probably way off here) could even hint at his own fate; When he mentions the star, 2 characters mention it not being a firefly, but when Ray passes, he's up in the sky with it like it was destined to be - and heck, the other fireflies (and characters) even celebrated after they saw him up there.
I had guessed that Hector was really Miguel's grandfather pretty early on in Coco, but I actually never suspected that Ernesto killed him and stole his songs until the film reached that scene. It was a great plot twist.
Hans' gloves could also be a foreshadowing. Towards the beginning of the film, Elsa is given gloves to keep her powers hidden and avoid them suddenly being exposed. Hans also wears gloves, giving the hint that he is hiding something.
The furnace scene from Toy Story 3 was really emotional for me and my sister. We grew up watching the first two Toy Story movies. We went and see the third movie in theaters with one of my nieces. When that scene came on both me and my sister were bawling. Then my niece was asking why was we crying. She had never seen the first two movies. But boy did me and my sister cried like little babies when we watched that.
Yeah. When "Toy Story 3" was released in theaters, my siblings and I saw it with our cousins and aunts, and when they ended up in the furnace, my mom and aunts were crying. I was shocked and worried about what would happen to the toys in that scene, but I didn't understand why it made them cry. Of course, I too was internally panicking, "What's gonna happen now?! Somebody's gotta do something!" And my mom cried when Andy gives the toys to Bonnie.
No capes is still iconic to this day as despite its dark connotations the way Edna says the iconic phrase is just so funny but when I saw The Incredibles for the first time I did not think about the scene again after it took place and now I wish Edna was there to do the told you so dance
Love the list except for #2. Andy didn't forget the toys, he outgrew them and was going to put them in the attic, but his mom mistook the trash bag of toys as trash and took it out.
There was another piece of foreshadowing that Bruno didn't leave the Madrigal household by Dolores in "Encanto" during the song "We Don't Talk About Bruno." When she sings to Mirabel about hearing the rats, if you look on the second floor, you'll see Bruno walking along and then bopping his head to Dolores's singing. Stinky Pete telling the toys in "Toy Story 2" that they would be rotting in a landfill was not the only piece of foreshadowing he made for "Toy Story 3." In "Toy Story 2," Stinky Pete told Woody that he wouldn't be able to stop Andy from growing up and asked Woody if he believed that Andy would take him with him to college, and in "Toy Story 3," Andy grows up and he almost takes Woody with him to college, but Woody decides to remain with his friends instead.
Stinky Pete was right unfortunately, in toy story 4 Woody's a forgotten toy, would've been better off on display and Bonnie is gonna grow up one day too, where are the toys gonna wind up then?
11:13 I didn't think of this one as a foreshadowing moment. 11:33 This one on the other hand. Well, the trailers I saw of this movie before it came out and/or when it just came out didn't really tell me much about the events to expect in this movie other than the common family, in this case, mother-daughter troubles. So I didn't see any of the foreshadowing moments the when my family and I first watched it. But the second time around... Yeah.
I wonder if there'd be anything in the Toy Story franchise foreshadowing Stinky Pete the Prospector warning Woody, Jessie and Bullseye that they'd end up spending a lifetime on a dime store shelf watching every other toy be sold, which happened to him for example. Not he cares about that happening to others, only that he didn't want it to happen to HIM again. Nothing about toys spending a lifetime on a dime store shelf could possible fit Toy Story 3 or the rest of the franchise from the third film on, right?
People look at me strange when I say I never saw lion king (I’m 30 so old enough for the original and new version) I saw the cartoon based on the pig and the meerkat but that was it

"He will bring balance to the Force." (STAR WARS Episode I The Phantom Menace) That seems to come true in STAR WARS Episode VI Return of the Jedi when Darth Vader who was once a boy named Anakin Skywalker whom it was said by Qui-Gon Jinn would bring balance to the Force destroys the Emperor thus ending the galactic empire's reign of terror for good.
Also in frozen when they was little she made a snowman and Anna started playing with it saying “hi I’m Olaf and I love warm hugs” later on in the movie when she goes to look for her her Sven and kristoff bumps into..you guessed it Olaf saying for badom what Anna said/during part of your world she says I wanna see them dancing and strolling on the street later on she gets feet and wounds up dancing with Eric and strolling on the streets/rapunzels baby mobile had a white horse, chameleon and a duck resembling the snuggly duckling, pascal and Maximus
nah fam, remember in the original planet of the apes in the cave scene with the doll? and the fact that it is earth but time traveled? Now remember the scene in the rise of the planet of the apes where the space ship says is lost in space? Now remember in the most recent movie the kingdom of the planet of the apes where the same cave is and the doll? and the fact that in the telescope they see something? and the signal they contacted at the end? what if they saw a spaceship the same one from the original movie and the one that got lost in the rise of the apes movie and thats the one they are contacting? “NO CAPES!” is a very true statement!

Your videos curb the wicked storm👌
I personally see Turbo’s backstory as major foreshadowing
Brave one of the best Disney movies of all the time
Love the list except for #2.
The only foreshadowing that occurred to me was Stinky Pete's foreshadowing from Toy Story 2.
Stinky Pete was right unfortunately, in toy story 4 Woody's a forgotten toy, would've been better off on display and Bonnie is gonna grow up one day too, where are the toys gonna wind up then?
6:15 - 6:26 I think I missed that. Wow!
several of these scenes made me teary-eyed, and not because i was slicing an onion while watching this video.
Fun fact: gaston was suppost to say 'time to die' instead of 'belle is mine' as hes fighting the beast
Yup
That makes sense. But then, for a true monster like Gaston, one sentence leads to another, making them almost synonymous.
The script change was obviously last minute as his mouth synchs to the original line.
No uses of foreshadowing for "Big Hero 6" though?
11:13 I didn't think of this one as a foreshadowing moment.
11:33 This one on the other hand. Well, the trailers I saw of this movie before it came out and/or when it just came out didn't really tell me much about the events to expect in this movie other than the common family, in this case, mother-daughter troubles. So I didn't see any of the foreshadowing moments the when my family and I first watched it. But the second time around... Yeah.

Yes, Edna Is in the thumbnail
I wonder if there'd be anything in the Toy Story franchise foreshadowing Stinky Pete the Prospector warning Woody, Jessie and Bullseye that they'd end up spending a lifetime on a dime store shelf watching every other toy be sold, which happened to him for example. Not he cares about that happening to others, only that he didn't want it to happen to HIM again. Nothing about toys spending a lifetime on a dime store shelf could possible fit Toy Story 3 or the rest of the franchise from the third film on, right?
People look at me strange when I say I never saw lion king (I’m 30 so old enough for the original and new version) I saw the cartoon based on the pig and the meerkat but that was it
The Lion King is the best animated Disney movie ever, imo. Give it a shot, you won't be sorry!
@@sarammauricio the shock on everyone’s faces tho is so hilarious “you never saw lion king you didn’t cry when *whatever it was that happened* “ I’m like “no my child hood cartoon was an animated film called Heavy metal” when they see that they’re also shocked at what I was watching I can’t win 😂😂😂😂😂
18:01 NO CAPES
Edna is more pretty accurate foreshadowing I love it a
Well what do you expect Disney state the obvious while making it very sneaky
I liked it
You can see Bruno in the background
nah fam, remember in the original planet of the apes in the cave scene with the doll? and the fact that it is earth but time traveled? Now remember the scene in the rise of the planet of the apes where the space ship says is lost in space? Now remember in the most recent movie the kingdom of the planet of the apes where the same cave is and the doll? and the fact that in the telescope they see something? and the signal they contacted at the end? what if they saw a spaceship the same one from the original movie and the one that got lost in the rise of the apes movie and thats the one they are contacting? WAY MORE BETTER FORSHADOWING and I figured that out myself without watching any videos
I’m sorry but what does foreshadowing mean
What in the word are yall talking about?! Call them out if they're being racists! Don't cop bail for them!!!!
😮😢
😏👍
Disney? Harrumph.
How kind of you to spare the time from your doubtless packed schedule to impart that priceless insight!
@@ellynmacgregor8210 yeah, right, baby.:)
When are you going to stop using Pixar movies in these lists? You're wasting space.
Ummmm excuse you? Pixar is Disney, ergo it counts
@@csquared84 Pixar is not Disney. Disney may OWN Pixar, but Pixar makes their own movies.
@@vetarlittorf1807 They’re still distributed by Disney so it counts
@@csquared84 So? That doesn't make them Disney movies.
This just shows Disney (plus Pixar) are waaay better films than Dreamworks and Universal trash! 😂😂😂😂
Just because they foreshadow? Dreamworks is a great contender and sometimes better in quality of animation.
