Before I watch this I swear to god, The Road To Eldorado & The Emperor’s New Groove better be on here & Tarzan too
@@melaniewright7748 a pinned comment doesn't count
How could you forget The Jungle Book? That was a generational movie!
It may not be completely animated, but “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” deserves a special mention.
100% deserves being mention
Because it's a mixed between real and animation it isnt called an animated movie, it falls into a different category.
@@Ryanthusar I agree, but it still needs to be recognized somehow because at the time it rejuvenated the animation industry.
@@Ryanthusardoes the same go for the SpongeBob movie

When my oldest son was four years old, I took him to see An American Tail. He enjoyed it so much that he cried when it ended, he said he didn't want it to end. I bought the soundtrack a few weeks later and we sat at home and listened to it. When it ended, he looked at me and said, "Mommy, I want to hear the part where I cried!" Oh, how my heart melted into a puddle on the floor!! I had to tell him that his cries weren't on the soundtrack, but he could listen to the record again, so we did.
‘Inside Out’ turned out to be a very good almost 10 years ago.
This year’s sequel officially made over 1.3 billion worldwide.
Actually inside out 2 has made over 1.6 billion dollars worldwide
@@daniellewis4154 Can it top the Lion King?

Can you do top 100 greatest animated movie villains of all time?
Good Idea 💡
Maleficent and Megatron had better be on that list.
Lotso is on the top 20 for sure since he was on the top 100 movie villains of all time
TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and Nimona making it over The Boy & The Heron and Across The Spider-Verse is crazy to me. But props for coming up with a top 100!
The boy and the heron was top tier. Should have been somewhere on the list near howls moving castle
@@jacobbarber1332 agreed. I thought TMNT and Nimona were good but not on the level of those two.
@@jacobbarber1332 I just looked at their top 10 animated films of 2023 list and Spiderverse was 1, Heron 2, TMNT 3, and Nimona 4…
I think spider-verse was left off since it was a part 2
@@Oskir_Schlickarsson That shouldn't matter. I'm pretty sure other sequels made the list.
Treasure planet not being on this list is a crime
I read this thinking you were talking about Atlantis The Lost Empire.
I wouldn’t say it’s a crime, I mean aside from the very creative world the story isn’t all that special
Honorable mentions:
"The Super Mario Bros Movie"
"Sausage Party"
"Cars"
"The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie"
"The Lorax"
No but how was cars not mentioned????, anyways im not watching the whole list but was Madagascar films or ice age on the list
@@EmanuelAdenuga "Cars" was not mentioned mostly because of the only thing that the movie does right is it's merchandising and the importance of the main character. Most, if not all of the other movies have better story, side characters, technicality, animation, and/or much more things compared of Lightning McQueen's debut. Side note, all of the movies from "Madagascar" or "Ice age" series were not mentioned for (probably) the same reasons, but the list is generally created from WatchMojo's team, so it's their decision what movies put in which order.
and ... Anomalisa, My Life as a Courgette, Isle of Dogs, Flee, Soul, The Boy and The Heron and The Secret of Kells
Super mario bros is so flat
@@Chubbytoad12 I’m talking about the 2023 film.
343: Probably not going to be mentioned but I will, The Last Unicorn. When it comes to 80’s movies, this one isn’t mentioned all the time. Although it’s a beautiful movie
Guillermo del Toro once said, "Animation is Cinema."
Tell me Disney didn't buy this top ... land before the time and Akira didn't make It the top 5 ?! C'MON !!!!!
I’ve waited so long for this!
Howl's Moving Castle: one of my niece's simplest tattoos is one of my favorites because of its deep and double meaning.
She grew up in an emotionally and verbally abusive environment (that we were unaware of) and spent every single weekend and school break at my parents house. She would watch this movie with my mom _every single night_ along with a bowl of my mom's homemade sweet popcorn.
As an adult when she finally freed herself and was able to move out and be on her own, she got a tattoo to symbolize her "moving house" and changing her life:
The spell that Howl draws on the floor of the castle in chalk on moving day.
I've always thought that was particularly creative and poignant in a sad yet beautiful way.
Watership Down. Fantastic Planet, Porco Rosso, The Wind Rises, when the wind blows and waking life deserved a mention
Surprised Anomalisa didn't make it on! Definitely deserves it above a few entries
End of Eva, Mononoke, wall-e and perfect blue outside the top 10 is kinda crazy
Wall-e is the only one that should be there, don’t know why end of evangelisis is even in top 70 should be top 90, while mononoke is top 20 alongside totoro
LOVE your 100 lists guys! Thanks For this 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Shrek 2 deserves to be in the top 5. It's unironically a masterpiece
No way
Yep
South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut

Y'all have no idea how happy I am to see Spider-Verse as high as it was. Long Live Spider-Verse! 🕷️
Watership Down, The Wind and the Willows, Disney’s The Black Caudron and The Fox and the Hound, Don Bluth’s All Dogs Go To Heaven, and Hanna-Barbera’s Charlotte’s Web are some of my favorites.
What about Watership Down, Heavy Metal, Titan A.E., A Mouse and His Child.
"The Lion King", "Toy Story" and "Shrek" are the GOATS!
Shrek is mid.
Shrek is love, Shrek is life
@@megamoviez yeah that vid is what pushed it over the edge for me. Shrek is mid at best.
The Lion King took most of its visuals 1:1 from „Kimba, the White Lion“. So it is a cheap rip off and doesn‘t deserve the 3rd place here.
Hey Folks Toy Story and The Lion King are Both Good , in my opinion Shrek is an Mess and Lousy Franchise and is Secretly Racist because they Put Eddie Murphy as some annoying and talking donkey in this crappy franchise, they should never do that.
The Secret of Nimh is STILL one of my faves to this day....
And Toothless was the first 'dragon' that made me wish they were real... :o)
How dare you don't include the 1986 Transformers movie!! It's a titan among animated films!! Forget its original backlash and hatred, it's a revolutionary feature with an awesome soundtrack and amazing story!!
Where's The Tale Of The Princess Kaguya? I understand Spirited Away at #1, but Kaguya deserves a spot in the top 3

Don Bluth has his own magical places,
Studio Ghibli has his storytelling to life through action and love,
Warner Bros gave us adventures,
Pixar opened their doors to different worlds,
Nickelodeon showed us the world of heart and action,
DreamWorks took us into their world,
Blue Sky gave us a big franchise in new worlds,
Sony Animation opened their world in a new unique way,
LAIKA opened our eyes, and
Illumination has us in laughter
Kung Fu Panda 2 deserves a spot here. Even if it's 100th. The emotional maturity and action of that movie stayed with me

I’m sorry not even a mention for Anastasia? It grossed more than some Disney movies and spawned a well received Broadway show
When Are You Gonna Do A Top 100 Disney Movies of All Time? I Mean last Year was their 100th Anniversary
Good Idea 💡
One of my friends was a really big fan of the 2005 blue sky studios film Robots. It told a great story from beginning to end, had very unique world-building, and is one of blue sky's most underrated films. It featured the like of talents such as Robin Williams, and featured a great story about co-existing the old reliable with the new and hi-tech marvels.
I can’t believe Cats Don’t Dance is on this list! Made my day
How is A Bugs Life not on the list at all. That has one of the greatest story to stand up agaisnt a dictator and fight for freedom. Why is it that the movie is basically being forgotten and many kids and teens have never heard of it.
@@POPINCONEJO88 I feel like a Bug’s Life and Antz cancelled each other prob
It’s pretty mid
WHERE IS RANGO?!
Totally agree, a top ten maybe not, but a top 100!
I think the first half was a bit too slow but it got better overtime
They can easily replace that TMNT movie over it
thank you
To me The Lion King will always be the #1 greatest animated movie of all time. And Batman:Under The Red Hood is the greatest Batman animated film of all time
Shocked to see Encanto above Frozen and Tangled, Coco being above Up is just wrong. Up is easily top 10. Peter Pan is also really low. Did love to see Nightmare Before Christmas and Fantasia as high as they were.
Perfect blue and its such a beautifull day are the best ones i've ever seen
Spirited Away will always be the best
The 2023 italian movie Robot Dreams deserves to be on a list like this. It was sadly overlooked despite actually being academy award nominated for best animated picture. It is an amazing movie that is first and foremost a slice of life story about an anthropomorphic dog and his robot friend with surprisingly accurate portrayal of social situations that a young single person trying to expand their social circle might find themselves in. However it is ultimately thematically a story about letting go of the past, and it shows this message in part due to (and I know this might sound insane but the movie pulls it of with utmost taste and empathy) symbolism referencing the 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attack. You really have to see the movie to get an ideo of how unique and amazing it is.
The fact that I knew what they were gonna put at #1 twelve minutes into the video is WILD. 😏
@@ProfessorMetalhead1 I knew before I clicked on the video 😂
I might have missed them but "Dumbo" and "The Jungle Book" were not mentioned
I’ve got some Honorable Mentions:
• Ice Age
• The Fox and The Hound
• The Bad Guys
• Megamind
• All Dogs Go to Heaven
• Cars
• Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs
• Trolls
And
• The LEGO Batman Movie
Trolls....seriously?
Yes seriously, I just can’t stop watching it just like I can’t stop the feeling!
@@tigerclaw8775 Compared to the others it's quite pathetic.
If that’s true how do you explain the sequels, I’m sure they’ll take you to a better place.
@@tigerclaw8775 What does this mean to me, sequels on films like Trolls are made only and exclusively for money, they are not films that aim to be anything other than a banal and mediocre film. Especially the 2 which is quite useless. And again, compared to other films it is pathetic, even with the other sequels
Howl’s Moving Castle blew my mind in theaters when I was 5 years old. I love everything about this movie. It’s also my mom’s favorite
Happy feet being above emperors new groove is criminal. Actually, happy feet being above anything is criminal 💀
It missed “ The Aristocats” and the “ Jungle book”, those are super good films! Made me laugh and cry.
Honourable mention:
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
Rango
Madagascar 3
The Lego Batman Movie
A Bugs Life
The Boy and the Heron
Across Spiderverse
Cloudy with a chance of Meatball
And Hotel Transylvania
My favorite animated movie is Shrek, Ratatouille, The LEGO Movie, Meet the Robinsons, The Incredibles, The Simpsons Movie, WALL-E, Aladdin, Fantasia, Spiderman Spider Verse, The Mitchells vs The Machines, etc
Decent list overall, but I personally think Howl’s Moving Castle should’ve been at least in the top 30. Hell, I’d rank it higher than Totoro, Kiki, and even Grave of the Fireflies.
Beauty and the Beast personally is my favorite. Can't wait to see where it ranks
19:46 YOOO this my ALL TIME FAVORITE Disney MOVIE im so surprised it’s even on this list 😮
How is it surprising? It was a huge hit and critical success. I’m pretty sure it was the highest grossing animated film that year.
@@cinematictheatrics it’s good but I don’t think it’s like Toy Story good
Only one I was hoping would sneak in that didn’t is Book of life, loved that one!
Spirited away is simply inexplicable, a true journey that makes you feel emotions that you wont ever understand.
I was very happy to see it on the top spot, that's where it's supposed to be! The best animation film of all times (so far).
@@sylviegagne1287 I totally agree!
51:00 my favorite
Perfect blue and its such a beautifull day are the best i've ever seen
I was not expecting Spirited Away to be the greatest movie of all time
I guess it’s because it made history for anime
Well the film is fantastic. So glad to see an anime story make the impact this one has done.
Shrek not being into the top 10 is criminal
There are 21 animated films I know for a fact are better than Shrek
(Gasps) I love The Hunchback of Notre Dame! I seriously don’t care that it’s called underrated. It’s a movie of great musical numbers, great characters and the storyline of hope
For me Lion King first spirited away second and akira third.
Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse are awesome
in my case, i would also count other worthy and unique ones, besides that recently has been super mario movie in my list, this are my following:
Cats Dont Dance, Animal Farm, Prince of Egypt, Brave Little Toaster, Secret of Nimh, Anastasia, Shrek, Enrique Gato’s Capture The Flag, Chicken Run, Dark Crystal (since puppetry counts as part of the medium), and nonother than Iron Giant
"Spirited Away (2001)": Great Choice! A masterpiece! 🙏
Indeed.
I don’t know if I could actually make a list of my favorite animated movies but I know a few that are definitely on my list. Cinderella, Snow White, Anastasia, Thumbelina, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Robin Hood, The Prince of Egypt…
No. 15, This movie even earned a sequel in the form of a book too, called: "Long Live the Pumpkin Queen" too 🎃👑
PLease Tell me You remembered about Transformers the movie 1986
No 5️⃣ I didn't think Sony Animation Studios would make a film this great here but I'm glad it did by then during it's release in theaters and not only was I still blown away by the sequel too but I'm also real excited for part 2 of it there too 🕷️🕸️🖤❤️
Watership Down is one of my favorites. And from Disney I’m more fond of Great Mouse Detective and Robin Hood than others on this list. Also love Transformers The Movie, even if ultimately it’s just a long toy commercial
The Lion King will always be my favorite animated movie of all time, a true masterpiece.
Unpopular opinion but EXTREMELY overrated movie
@@ethancooley3470Why do you find it overrated
One of my all time faves
@@Jollyjose251 I’ve just never been able to connect to it and I thought that the story with the massive time jump just seemed to ruin the arc of it all
I might not agree with the numbering, but I agree with the picks.
@@AriaSerif I mostly agreed with a lot of the numbering but I can think of at least 25 films I would have swapped a lot of these out with instead
25:18 this movie is the example why humans are better than AI
2 honorable mentions: Watership Down, Heavy Metal 1981
Literally this genre of film making has no limits. Anything an artist can think of can be made into an animated film.
All cartoons so dope and so many memory and i watch this all cartoons but my favorite >❤❤❤
Not even a mention of Wizards - that was shown at my high school, even.
Aw, Anastasia isn’t here 😞
I would recommend two of the Czech surrealist Jan Svankmajer's films, Alice and Faust. Also the film by the Quay Brothers The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes.
The Emperor's new Groove will always be one of my favorite Disney movies. Having a slow Brock Sampson in it probably helped 😂.

I'm disappointed by the absence of ANOMALISA, but it's a great list nonetheless 😁
I love Mask of the Phantasm.
It is bigger and better in every way, and has an incredible story.
Who else clicked just to find out what mojos number 1 pick is
I find the lack of Megamind, Ice Age and Rango disturbing. Happy Feet instead? Really?
