Note - Ammo Conservation
At some point, between the end of July and start of August I got Ammo Conservation in the Foundry. It requires Muton Autopsy, and doubles the ammo capacity of all your guns. This is incredible for Heavies, as they only have three shots and rely almost entirely on Bullet Swarm. MECs also love it as their weapons have two shots and no backup pistol, and Assaults and Snipers also benefit a lot once they get their multi-shot abilities.
Q - Battlescape: Why on earth are you using regular SHIVs?
A - It was initially a money and alloy saving measure, as Alloy Shivs appeared prohibitively expensive back in June when I made my first purchases. That was a mistake, 10 HP is not enough for a coverless tank made to draw fire.

My favorite XCOM:EW content. Even the UFO squadwipe, while painful to watch was... entertaining in a way and shows you the true XCOM Experience

*CAPTAIN RICCI:* A brave sharpshooter contributed from the Italian army. Supported Colonel Sokolov until the very end, when they were killed by a Muton head on assault.
*CORPORAL HUGHES:* While he had not been in the XCOM armed response teams for nearly as long as the other two on this list, Charles was chosen for his experience in the SAS and was trusted with an experimental ‘Light Plasma Rifle’. He used it to great effect, managing to kill a sectoid manning a mech suit at point blank, protecting his team until the very end. He died to an alien grenade, which further detonated his Plasma Rifle. Blowing his right hand off post-mortem.
*COLONEL SOKOLOV:* One of the more decorated XCOM members outside of the command element, Sokolov had a distinguished career after taking out multiple mechanised sectoids and regular sectoids after the death of most of his team on an operation, which he escaped by the skin of his teeth with minimal support from Ricci. Not to mention his past with his home forces as a heavy weapons operative. He is presumed dead after he was incapacitated by multiple shots from a heavy floater following a broken leg by rock debris.
All of the dead were lost on the same operation, Fading Fear.
Gone but not forgotten

Sokolov could be part of the Long War lore as future hybrid experiments... Hope someday he can be properly avenged

Well, you lost a lot of the legends, showed your distain for SHIV lives and managed to use a squad of other OGs (and an undeservingly ranked major) to rinse a terror branch of the alien threat.

I have to say, this series is great to watch. Was looking for a playthrough that showed how to deal with some of the bullshit that I was struggling with on the hardest difficulties, but most of the playlist you find are from people with far more encyclopedic knowledge than I have. Watching the lows and highs of these videos encourages me to keep on pushing through the setbacks, rather than doing yet another gatecrasher

Yea, i was sitting with my friend trying to teach him XCOM, and then his grenade launcher missed into two of his own troops. He never played xcom again....
@@user-uy8ss3hg6g I finished the game around the time I made this comment. And I recently picked it back up again because I beat Xcom 2 WOTC, and saw EW on sale and got it. I'm really enjoying all the new stuff, and I recently missed my first rocket after (almost) 10 years of playing the game. It missed but still killed the main guy I wanted killed lol.
