What a masterpiece of a game
Legendary .
It all started with Doom, but Goldeneye and then this was insane.
Always underrated when I see classic lists.
Yup.
Dude right?
The reloading in this game was the best I ever saw at the time. Something about it was so satisfying. Still has to be the best.
The sound effects help. Everything sounds rugged, beefy, and crisp
The revolver reload was straight ICONIC.
Using the Cam Spy to distract. Such a good idea. Although i usually just shot my enemies in the face
I have yet to do that successfully
It took me until this year (2024) to accidentally figure out I could do this with the cam spy. Changed everything.
I was such a nerd for this game, bought every games magazine i could find about it lol.
My brother tried getting it, but the store we went to was sold out so he bought the Game Book (I miss those!). I spent a few days going over it before he finally got the game. Then, we couldn't play beyond multiplayer because of we didn't have an Expansion Pak lol
The NPCs reactions. "Get Herrrr", "Why.... me?", and my favorite "Target sighted".
I have the enemies pain lines stitched in my mind in the order they come back to back. What a good childhood I had making them suffer lmao
Whoa! I never knew about that wall in Cassandra's office! 😳
Or that security guard area in Chicago!
I thought I knew the ins and outs of this game, every secret weapon, glitch, Easter egg, secret cheese, etc but I just learned like 3 or 4 new ones from this! Thanks!
Same - the crossbow wtf I had no idea man, it blew my mind.
Extraction magnum - 5 headshots without being seen - but yeah great video man, watched it all for you!
Yeah I did an other video to cover that one: ruclips.net/p/PLBmD3-WgwZ8KbdbapYdeNf5zGD4zCZFi_
The magnum in the 3rd mission: kill the guard behind the couch (4th guard) without being seen in the dark. To achieve it, kill the guards from the fartest point as you can.
You missed that bro. 😅 Great video! Love this game!
I already commented on the other video, but I am truly amazed by the secrets in Datadyne Extraction. Access to Cassandra's office? To access a grenade?? That's used to blow through a wall and retrieve a Dragon???
In 20 years, I never knew...unless these are new additions to the XBLA version. Either way, it's incredible!
Perfect Dark is really full of surprise! That's why I did this video.
It was made on a N64 emulator so everything you see here is in the N64 version.
@@DarkOcelot7 Ah, an Emulator, now it makes sense.
I knew the gunplay here looked too accurate to be the Xbox version, but I wasn't sure if it was just my memory or if N64 was really that good.
(I still say the N64 controller is one of the most accurate ever made, just not very durable. Perfect Dark on XBLA feels almost unplayable compared to the original.)
Of course I'm incredibly excited for the Reboot. So much of Perfect Dark would still be considered "Cutting Edge" to this day, if they can actually make a modern game with that level of flexibility, variety and interactivity, I'll happily keep playing for another 20 years.
Crap, after all these years I'm still running into stuff I never knew about. Thanks man.
Double Phoenix helps so much on last mission, special when you go for all weapons unlock cheat
I played this game inside & out for years & I didn’t know about all these hidden weapons.
Those where some magnificent headshots BTW.
Thank you. I realize I didn't write it in the description but I played with mouse and keyboard, it helps with the aiming and the headshots. I can't be that quick and precise with a N64 controller.
I thought there was a gun in the Carrington Institute gun range during the siege but maybe my memory serves me incorrectly. Regardless awesome job with this. So pumped for the new one coming out!
Your memory is good, there is indeed a weapon there, a RC-P120(the one that turn you invisible in secondary mode). This is one of the objective, you have to get that weapon in order to finish the mission, that's why I didn't considered it as a hidden weapon.
1:45 "Ahh... I'm dying..."
I gotta love how Trent just stands still without no reaction after begin disarmed
I love how when you get close to enemies with a pistol she holds it sideways like a gangsta lol
Dude love your vid thanks so much!
As an expert player, I knew every one of them, except the Double Phoenix in the Skedar level. Thanks for that one. Yeah the Phoenix in the second Area 51, that one is hard to get.
But nothing satisfies me more than taking the DY357-LX from Trent in terms of not using cheats for it. That gun is actually the original Golden Gun from the Man with the Golden Gun novel.
When you started play the game?
if you were an expert player the you would've known about the Double Phoenix. I knew about that on my first playthrough on Agent.
@@marbistacio Since original release.
@@the757general2 You expect every expert to be perfect?
@@LITTLE1994 there's a *perfect* joke here somewhere...
DataDyne Research - nice strat, this one was always a pain in the
There's more ammo for the Psychosis Gun on Maian SOS in the second lab with the Alien on the operating table
OMG!!! Im 31 years old and i played this game on my childhood during the 90's and i never new there where secret guns among the levels
This came out in 2000.
@@StillTheVoid Yeah i know, it was still part of my childhood because i was 10 years old in the 2000, when my parents gave me this game for christmas.
@@BpEmpire2001 best gift ever !
In the first level second stair case at the very bottom is a falcon 2 that I pick up for extra ammo
I think the grenade in the third mission actually had to do with being in the elevator while the lights are still off.
I never knew about the double CMP150, I remember I even tried blowing up that AC like thing lmao
Wow, I never knew of that area in Chicago where you got the second Falcon!
Yeah and they put some effort in it, I have the feeling the devs wanted to give it a purpose for an objective or something mandatory.
@@DarkOcelot7 you can also find a cheese there
That is ''ghost area'' search on youtube, very interesting
You are amazing !!!
the laptop gun was essential for completing defection on harder difficulties for me.
One thing missed. The elvis mission for area 51 once you get fully out of the autopsy lab, but just before you get to the containment lab, if you throw the dragon and have it blow up. Some random blue guard falls from the ceiling. Lol.
There's actually a Rocket Launcher hidden with NPC's that arent killable or interactable if you go BACK DOWNSTAIRS in DD Extraction. Noone ever goes back down there lol! But when you do, the lights are on and 1 of the rooms has them
Hope everyone is ready for the Perfect Dark remake we should be getting within the next year or two
Not sure about this but this one just hits his 23th anniversary yesterday (may 22th) !
a lot of these ive stumbled into without knowing the exact conditions, the airport level for example i was just simply knocking everyone out cause if they are all out cold BEFORE it gets attacked, none of them have to die, then id randomly get double magnums doing that, so i kept doing that... i never concluded it was all of the guys in blue attire that had to be knocked out specifically.
though that section in chigago stealth? never knew about that one in the slightest
3:46 I always thought that if you made a loud noise (gunshot) on the first floor, a guard would spawn.
11:25 Nice technique for this one ! Had a bug where the door opens by itself. To get this result, you have to shoot the gun of the guy guarding the door at 12:05. He will eventually drop his gun just in front of the door, allowing him to open the door regardless of the lock.
Happens to me a few time when I was I kid, still didn't remember that you have to knock down the first guy haha
Pelagic you don't need to knock anyone out you can still get the dual Falcon 2 by shooting the all
Wtf. I never knew about that hidden dragon room in mission 3
This comment has probably already been made, but I thought I'd reiterate:
For the very second hidden weapon, the laptop gun in the first level... you *dont* have to follow that guy so that he'll open the door. Simply open the door to the right of the locked door, look to your left and face the locked door, and then try opening. If you get the angle right, you'll open the locked door from (what the game thinks) is the inside of that small room, as the door cannot lock from the inside or you'd of course get stuck.
It's a very handy little trick that works on all difficulties, though, I'm not sure if the laptop gun is there in the lower difficulties.
Amazing video. I never understood the point of the proximity mines in AF1.. you have to give up all your equipment anyway. Are they retrieved on the plane in the next mission?
What graphics settings is this using? The game looks so crisp compared to when I played on 1964GEPD, even though the HUD looked better on that version. There are also less areas where you can see through the corners of the geometry on your version.
oh my god i didn't know about these hidden weapons
in DataDyne Central Extration when you kill 5 guards without alerting them, the fifth guard gives you a Magnum Pistol
U forgot to show Sniper Rifle location at Carrington Villa, it was inside a bathroom next to a Carrington soldier body
That proximity mine was not worth putting Jo through cancer treatment. 😭
Are you the Ocelot mentioned in some of the doom videos by Karl Jobst? Cool to see you here
Sorry, we are two different people. I know Karl Jobst RUclips channel, I guess the Ocelot you are talking about is a speedrunner.
@@DarkOcelot7 Okay, yeah, I remember hearing the name a couple of times, he had a history in doom and I saw you had a bunch of wolfenstein videos too and that's the spiritual prequel kind of.
This is cool video though and I love Perfect Dark. One tip, I heard that if you make a description on your youtube page you're more likely to get recommended. I think many Goldeneye/PD fans are interested in something like this
i personally just threw a grenade to blow up the mines. i didn't even know there was a safe path to the rocket launcher lol
One thing I wish in this game that kind of bothered me is I wish more guards in more levels could throw grenades just like they could in Goldeneye. You only have area 51 where they can throw grenades. The other thing, is you often had areas wasted. Chicago you had that area inside one of the buildings with the double falcon 2 scope. Another area was area 51 where you pick up the Phoenix. Maybe picking up Elvis gun could have been a side objective. Other annoying thing is how can perfect dark have a falcon 2 silencer or a scope but you can't combine the two together? Last but not least the final level of skedar, if you use the rounds from the grenade launcher too soon even if you pick up the Phoenix, you still fail the mission. Last bit not least in Carrington institute how did the skedar take hostages when they were wearing datadyne clothing. Another goofy thing, how did most of the guards not have alarms they could trigger or call out ahead to the next guard? If you were detected, you'd have guard after guard showing up. Overall it was a good game there lived up to it's time, but looking back I did have a handful of issues with it.
What about the K7 in dD Research?
dataDyne Central - Extraction
-DY357 Magnum That video is no longer up
It's my fault, I put a wrong link. It is fix now.
So we just going to ignore at 6:52 that the G5 robot just shot a civilian and you took the blame for it ?
I couldn't get the double Phenix
Hey dope video. Word of advice... you can put the timestamps without any wording in front of them. YT will add chapters to your video that we can click on. Game changer. Try it out!! Maybe shorten what is written just after the timestamp. Like this.. when you have a hyphen between times it knows that is the duration of that chapter.
0:00-1:11 begin (this will be the name of that chapter)
more detailed description
1:11-2:22 next chapter...
next detailed description
ect.
Thanks for making this!
Thank you very much for the advice! I'll try that when I get some time.
@@DarkOcelot7 smashed that like button and subscribe button!!
Done ! Thanks again.
Are you playing on an emulator? The graphics are way too good to be on console
2:17
I couldn't find the n bomb is it a certain difficulty or something
The N-Bomb in the G5 Building mission won't appear in Agent difficulty. You also must put the remote mine on the upper exit door during the previous mission. In other words: play Chicago mission on Special or Perfect Agent difficulty, put the remote mine on the exit on the top of the emergency stairs, finish the mission, play through the next mission(G5 Building), the N-Bomb should be there.
@@DarkOcelot7 thx
How do you do to play at more than 24 fps?
