Simplified character designs in anime/manga are to allow artists to have an easier time getting the character into action. Goku in his orange gi is a lot easier to draw and animate than say Mecha Frieza with the little mechanical details. Rick and Morty are already simple designs, all that's left is to get them into more hectic action or looking more clean. This just makes them even worse, like they were in a fever dream with all the jagged outlines and jarring movement.
Idk why they didn't do something Similar to the South Park episode "good times with weapons" where in the anime sequences the character designs got remixed to fit a more anime style aesthetic.
@@darkzerosoul0150 Wow you translated my Japanese (I already commented on this in the previous video but it got taken down and so I did a “Creative” way to comment on it!)

It's still a lemon and it's not going to save a dead ip running on fumes and an odometer well past it's capacity. Marvel, dc, transformers, ninja turtles, just reeks of desperation
Not only this is pointless and the animation looks really weird, but I'm so freaking confused. I don't even understand what's going as it keeps on jumping all over the place. This is a scream desperation on getting the fans back and try to distract them from all the controversy.

I've watched the earlier Rick & Morty: The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara. It was enjoyable, although I was disappointed that the yokai were just tacked on at the climax.
As a Rick and Morty fan I can tell you that I don't like the anime! It's basically just Rick and Morty STILL with a different art style! The WHOLE point of an anime is it being in Japanese! The first "episode" is so confusing!
I thought that as an anime it would have at least tried to emphasize different parts, like the weird emotional core, or more cool battle scenes that emphasize a battle as opposed to a complete control of the battle that Rick or the Sanchezes does - after all, Rick and Morty is multiversal, so there is a universe where their character arcs follow manga/anima logic and they look anime. But it very literally is Rick and Morty in a different art style, which is a gimmick that would be done in original Rick and Morty.
4:39 I don't care _when_ it is, I care _what_ it is, and it is *boring af.* Episode 1 let me know that I will not waste 3 hours watching the rest of the 9.
I agree with how different it is; not carrying the humor the series is known for can be jarring. I still like it for now, but I don't love it. There is something that attracts me with its aesthetics and how it's surreal yet calmer. The mystery it sets up in the first episode also entices me, not since I'm a super fan but more so for something different while hoping to judge the series as a whole. So I'm going to watch it till the end.
In my language the gun ownership, or at least not as frontally as in the english dub (they say something like "no one will take up arms to defend themselve, revolts were always nipped in the bud, ...). The toilet joke was the only one there but I think the show is trying to be more of a mood than a joke-filled show, I'll try episode 2 and hope for the best or let it rest. Also the first girl that blow up the insect ship is basically a Summer from another timeline.
Peak Rickamania ended sometime between the end of the second to last season and Roiland being fired for being a creep, even if the criminal charges against him were dropped. That’s strike 1, missing the optimal spinoff window. Strike 2 was, no one wanted an anime for the Adult Swim Stoner Series. It’d be like making a Tom Goes to the Mayor anime. How does this make anything funnier? It doesn’t, and considering main Rick is running out of gas and the writers appear more and more tired every season, it just feels like it’s exacerbating the problem. Strike 3 being that even with all that, the end result was awful, content to go through the motions without adding anything.
Guess I will type this again the video had been blocked: This show could probably compete with Star Wars Acolyte for Worst Show of 2024. Even the Suicide Squad Isekai was done better than this.
There are certain things that should stay in their lane cause they are not ready to be handle a certain way and im sorry to say rick and morty is one of those things because for anime to follow an adult swim/TBS/ Animation Drama can only end like a gag in said Animation in order for these shows to work in anime format the must follow the guide line of an anime format less they want confuse not just their fanbase but anime enthusiasts as well
And the funny thing is that there is an obvious emotional core Rick and Morty can follow to make it like an anime. Rick and Morty, with it focus on deconstructing tropes, some cool battle sequences, and intentional juvenile humor, would fit under battle shounen. Sometime in battle shounen, there is a mentor character who teaches the protagonist with unknown to the protagonist to get them under control, and usually knows far more because of experience. Rick Sanchez comes off like the ultimate deconstruction of a mentor character in battle shounen. The funniest thing is that by the events of the show, Morty did not need to unlock his true potential. Just being subjected to the random acts of the world brings out all of his more assertive and more controlling sides, and in the first five seasons Rick is one of those issues. Rick also says that Morty has “Morty waves” that cancel out Rick waves, which is basically bullshit. Furthermore, the mentor is usually correct because of experience exposing him to whatever. Rick is correct in how the world works because he literally made it so that the corner of the multiverse that he works in runs by his cynical, nihilistic logic. Furthermore, he made it that way because he hates himself for ruining his life. Rick’s healing, for some reason, is the central goal these days, and would therefore be an interesting take on battle shounen; that it is not necessarily the journey of the random person with powers they have to control for some reason, but rather of the incorrect mentor trying to fix his life because he never fixed it. And it was squandered, like basically everything related to Rick and Morty. In terms of manga/anime tropes altogether, Rick may the the protagonist version of Gendo Ikari or something.
Honestly I dropped the show after season 2. Hearing about pickle Rick & such was enough to tell me I'm done. This anime came & I was thinking why this? Easy pass yet again.
I hated Rick & Morty cuz last year's season barely made me laugh at all. I'll guarantee Rick & Morty the anime will be on my least favorite anime list if I ever see re-runs of it
I feel like my biggest turn off from even wanting to check this out was the art style. I fell out of rick and morty after season 4 (even though I actually liked 4) and than season 5 i checked a few episodes out but to me it just felt like the whole show was falling on itself and gave off a vibe that this is a show that actively hates itself and its fans. Seasons 1 and 2 worked alot cuz it kinda played on this idea of its a serialized twisted version of doc and marty from the back to the future series which i loved but now its just so cynical and bitter. I watched one of the new episodes a few months ago when I was staying at a hotel channel surfing and it was just mediocre and felt like it was trying to hard. When I heard the anime was becoming a thing I legit asked myself who wanted this. Who wants this. It looked awful, the premise seemed awful and hearing alot of people say it is awful kinda validates that. Like why does this exist. I’ll admit the little rick and morty anime crow short thing they did awhile back was cool but did it warrent an anime. No. I feel like rick and morty is just stuck in a never ending loop of becoming everything it makes fun of while hating itself for doing that
