One of my favorite things about Pucci is that he believes that what he’s trying to accomplish is a good thing. The ends justify the means, and it really shows just how dedicated he is and how far he’s willing to go to achieve it. I like to think that reasoning is also how he got so close to winning in the end
If you think about it, most of the stuff we nowadays take pride at were done through sacrifices. Nations were born through the deaths of thousands, plenty of inventions came from military origin...
personally i love pucci because of how well whitesnake represents him, he is someone who claims to be holy yet is a complete liar and doesn't even know that himself, sentient stands are created when the user conceals part of their true nature and whitesnake is the most expressive and angry stand in the series, pucci kills, he steals, he lies, he has an extreme ego, feeling that he has to punish jolyne for getting in his way yet says "i did not attain this ability to dispose of you." even though punishment is the role of the christian god. he also claims to not desire power yet he even thinks that cmoon already makes him invincible despite invincibility not being his goal, when dio first met the guy he found an adult book when he is supposed to be a priest, all in all pucci is so interesting because he is such a walking contradiction
@@DeiManThe1 not really since the goal was for everyone to know every important action in their life before it happened, emporio stopped that so pucci lost
Pucci is a rare example of a purely villainous character who has a lot of character development while staying evil. Which is something I really like about him. Being an active villain who's growing constantly with well thought out plans.
You work think time stop is the godlike power but time acceleration seems to be the truly godlike power. Honestly time control in general is op. Kronos is op
I guess it was needed. White snake could have been beaten by jolyne without much trouble. Even c Moon was beatable. It was only when he got made in heaven that he finally became unstoppable. And even then he almost died.
@@Dalauan_Sparrow there was that one instance where jolyne threw a knife at him from underwater, and got his eye. Had he just been a little slower, that would've been his death. That's part of the beauty of stand battles. You can be much more powerful than your opponent and still lose if you get caught sleeping. Makes the fights interesting.
I personally think Pucci was deceptively selfless. Sure his goal sounds noble but in the end he was a man that couldn't come to peace with his own trauma and sought to create a world where he can be free from it, imposing his desire on all of humanity. And his care for others is dubious considering how he treats others throughout the story. In the end his goal was ultimately selfish in nature but wore the veil of altruism, not unlike Valentine in part 7.
THIS!! He CLAIMS it's all just about the good of humanity or whatever, but in reality it's actually bc he can't cope with the responsibility over what happened to his sister and his own trauma from all of that!!
Yeah I hate pucci and funny valentine and the fact they try to cover up and/or honestly believe their evil goals, actions, motives, methods and etc as being good and or moral in anyway when they are just ranging from pure evil to just straight up wrong and horrifyingly evil. Which is the point as far as I can tell the fact that they are irredeemable, horrible and selfish cowards who try to run from the consequences of their actions and gain power at the cost of others, they are villains through and through and you are supposed to hate them look at them as people to not be like or at least I do. You can like them as villains and characters and how they affect the stories but you shouldn’t like or respect them as people. Sorry for the rant I just don’t like and get offended when people call them any type of good or selfless when they are not like that in any way at all, I just find people who say and or believe that horrible characters like them are good as completely wrong and beyond unbelievably stupid. Ty for your opinion it helps remind me that there are good people in the world who can recognize when someone or something is wrong and evil 🥰
It's kind of ironic that Pucci is fated to win in Cape Canaveral, but because he has Made in Heaven in the reset universe, he has become unaffected by fate, which makes him stand above everyone in the new universe, but it also makes his fate of defeating the heroes dissapear and leading that to his death.
My favorite thing about villains like Pucci, Dr.Doom, and Fire Emblem's Edelgard, came straight from Weather Report. "The worst kind of evil is one that doesn't know it is evil." These are Villains who are so headstrong in their beliefs that think they they must be the heroic goodguy for stopping the bloodlines/system that caused them so much suffering and that the world they are making will justify any actions that could be seen as evil or bad.
Pride is generally considered the deadliest sin for a reason. A person who is prideful enough will be able to justify anything they do in their mind. Pucci being a holy man who falls to such a sin on the encouragement of a man turned monster who’s stand’s design invokes a song about Satan being cast out of heaven (Holy Diver) is some of Araki’s best writing.
I love Pucci and how he came to be defeated, I do agree with most people's interpretation of the fate of the Joestars Vs. DIO being part of it, but I also like to think of all the previous actions of will taken by the heroes changed fate in their favor, with Jojo villains, it is always about fear and courage, fear of the sun, fear of the Joestars, fear of being discovered, fear of fate, and how it always seems the universe rewards those who can get past these fears. In this case, Emporio was bestowed the means, the chance and his own knowledge and will to defeat Pucci in the end, truly poetic.
The thumbnail alone is so damn clean and one of your best, I think, plus Pucci taking Dio's will and inspiration like how you'd see on the hero's side but instead it's the villain's side is pretty cool.
Pucci is the first jojo villain I actually hated. Not that I hated his character, but he genuinely made me upset. Araki wrote the man so well, and for that I give him credit.
Jolyne is my favorite Jojo, but I will say that I am perfectly fine with her performance in the final arc of Stone Ocean, for three reasons: 1. She had a very satisfying fight with Pucci when he had C-Moon 2. She basically won by playing the long term game which fits thematically with the part. 3. Jolyne's death is a beautiful wrap around to show how she truly had the spirit of her ancestor, Jonathon Joestar. Part 6 whether intentional or not, had a great theme of "passing the torch" with DIO and Jotaro passing it on to Pucci and Jolyne to carry out their will between the Heaven Plan even if Pucci is using it for his own means and for Jolyne to fight evil like Jotaro once Pucci defeated them. It feels like a curse when the Brando Legacy is against the Joestars since whenever any part has DIO's influence at the forefront: Part 1 having the George and Jonathon be killed as a result of Dio's actions, Holly slowly dying due to the forceful stand awakening that affected the bloodline, and in Part 6 with what happened to Jotaro and Jolyne, even worse that Jotaro is not there for her because he is fighting the evil DIO left behind. Part 2 even explored the curse of DIO with Jonathon's son being killed by one of his zombies and a big worry that Speedwagon had for Joseph of falling into the Joestar curse. Now where I'm going with this is that Jolyne is wrapped up in the Joestar curse due to how she, like Pucci, was put into a conflict that lasted generations, and I think with what Jolyne did with Emporio is a great way to break the cycle since she put someone in that was foreign to the Joestar and Dio conflict. Jolyne is the one who made sure Emporio is the one to finally enforce justice onto Pucci through giving him the Weather Report disc and making sure to save his life even at the cost of her own like how Jonathon made sure that Erina and his family had a future at the end of Part 1. As a result, Emporio broke the cycle because of what was paved for him by Jolyne and by extension, Weather Report to vanquish the evil that is Pucci. As a result, a new universe is born and the Part 6 cast can live happy lives without the influence of Pucci that brought them together through their bad fates, and Jolyne became Irene, someone who won't be wrapped in the Joestar's continuous battle against evil. Sorry if I rambled a lot, its just Part 6 is one of my favorite Jojo parts and I really love the dynamic between Jolyne and Pucci along with the ending being my favorite one in the series.
Nah bro, you took my thoughts about part 6 exactly and pur it beautifully. I find it hard to believe that it's on of the more devisive parts of Jojo, and I like that in a way, a Jojo lost instead of prevailing in the end (I know Johnathan dies at the end of P1, but let have this)
@@insanenero2922 The anime handled it better than the manga, since in the manga a lot of the stand abilities were confusing such as Dragon's Dream which was the worst manga fight. As for the anime, well Netflix didn't help with having a botched batch release and awkward animation in the first 12 episodes like with Lang Rangler. But the ending of Stone Ocean was conveyed beautifully in both manga and animation, even if people misunderstand the ending because of Parts 7-9 being in a completely different universe.
Pucci being killed by what amounts to the two main cast members he brought a lifetime misery of unto in pursuit of his goals is still the most poetic villain defeat in the series. Kira and Valentine are still probably the greatest in the series overall but it can’t be understated that Pucci is a solid 3rd place behind those two.
Say whatever you want about Jojo villains but they are Fricking unique >Metrosexual British Vampire that can stop time >Godlike Aztec bodybuilders >David Bowie with an explosive personality and a hand fetish >Mafia Boss with Multiple Personalities >metrosexual Priest with a very SUS bromance with the Metrosexual British Vampire >The President of AMERICA!!!
Stone Ocean is great but it gets really complex, philosophical and metaphysical and in ways that have direct impact on the writing of the part so that more esoteric side of it is probably why people might not like it. It can be rather challenging, at least about as much as a battle shounen manga can reasonably be. If someone's confused about something in Jojo I'd recommend checking out Hamon Beat's videos, he's a massive Jojo fan and does a lot to clarify questions and misconceptions that many people have about some of the weirder parts of the franchise. Pucci's placement as a villain is not even so much as "he wants something good for others," personally I interpret his desire to attain "Heaven" is tied to his own inability to accept fate. He couldn't get over the tragedies in his past, and refused to find a manner of closure, and instead he was focused on finding some way to cope with it and that resulted in his seeking "Heaven." He can speak about how he wants it to be for other people and it plays into some of his actions but given it's displayed numerous times that Pucci really doesn't have a sense of altruism and only really cares about himself and DIO that he isn't being genuine with what his core want is. The use of Emporio is something that massively plays into the thematic elements of fate within Jojo as a whole but especially in Stone Ocean. The concept of psychic links has been a thing in Jojo since at least part 3 (can't remember if the first one established was the distress signal Jonathan's body sent out or if there might have been one mentioned before that) and it's shown that after merging with the Green Baby that Pucci gained a psychic link with the Joestars as represented by him and Weather getting the star birthmark and that Pucci can "sense" the Joestars. Jolyne leaves it to Emporio because he lacks that psychic link - he's someone who is not connected inexorably by fate to the Joestar/Dio conflict. And to further this, it's when Pucci is decoupled from fate due to Made in Heaven that causes Emporio to be able to manipulate Pucci into placing Weather's Disc into him - literally Pucci's attempt to alter fate is what caused his defeat.
I don’t mind Emporio winning in the end because that moment for me perfectly encapsulates what is to me the theme of part 6 and why Puccis worldview is wrong. Pucci seems to believe we have little control over fate but the ending as well as the actions of characters like jolyne shows that’s incorrect we are the arbiters of fate and we decide our own destiny, ultimately pucci is defeated not necessarily even by emporio but by his own choices that crafted his own fate proving that it isn’t an invisible force that decides our destiny but ourselves and our choices.
I like that emporio’s the one that “wins”, it shows that the main character doesn’t always have to be the victor, it’s so predictable. We all remember the gasp we made when Jolyne died.
I really love how part 6 ended with the death of the joestars. I rarely see stories where they execute a good carthatic ending where the main cast actually gets defeated and yet araki pulled it off so well. Having accompanied the joestar's adventure for 6 parts and ending it here feels like a great conclusion to their epic saga. And to be realistic, the power struggle between made in heaven and jolyne is just too much and letting her win would feel like an ass pull. Letting weather report defeat pucci is a great way to not only end the story on a positive note but also give a conclusion to their brotherly conflict. I also adore the bittersweet ending of the reincarnated cast where they forgot about all the struggle in the previous universe but can finally live in peace. This is the greatest ending to a story or even saga if ive ever seen one
Pucci being retconned from reality could very well be Pucci’s punishment for altering reality, given JoJo’s heavy Cristian symbolism & Pucci’s position as a priest opens this up to interpretation.
Next You'll Say! This was a pretty good video although you forgot to mention one factor with Joylne, she carried out Jonathan's words of fighting into a battle knowing you'll lose alongside forgetting the fact that Empiro carried out the wishes of all the comrades he met when getting weather report but other than that, really good video covering a Jojo villain
"save the Pillar Men for last, at least the animated JoJo videos for my villain analysis" Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe one off episode villains soon then :P Also funnily enough, the boiling water as a disc wasn't taking an aspect like Pucci did with eyesight or Hallelujah music, but an actual random stand he had collected alongside all the other unseen ones hidden in that tire near Foo Fighters' original home.
Pucci is one of my favorite villains ever, I think he’s very nuanced, and I think the story does a good job of humanizing him more than previous JoJo villains (who were wonderful, but comically evil) while not trying to make him TOO sympathetic. I think most of the things that happened to him in his past were out of his control, and even though DIO manipulated him down a path of evil, everything from there was definitely in his control. He coped with his memories and trauma in all the wrong ways, by essentially avoiding actually processing the pain he went through, which led to his entire plan of being able to foresee the future, and to not feel any pain or worry from it. I think it serves as a really interesting parallel to characters like Jolyne, FF and Ermes who actually reflect on their troubled pasts to become better people and seek moral justice. accepting it as a part of themselves, instead of trying to avoid it.
Honestly if Pucci made better decisions and found a unique way to give this information to his brother without breaking his vows, I could definitely see him continuing his duty as a priest but would still have regrets never meeting DIO again.🤔🐱
I honestly think that even if he was to tell Perla and Weather, they wouldn't believe it and just assume that he came up with that excuse because he was against the relationship. And what proof would he have to show it? Weather's mother would most likely refuse to tell it.
From being friends with a preacher if the reason is for the betterment of the people involved and is against the law you can tell the relevant parties. "Sometimes it does more harm with an open hand than a closed fist".
Always liked how Emporio getting the win over the Main Villain feels like a homage to how Hayato nearly bested Kira in Part 4. If only Hayato had a Stand….
Pucci is the farthest thing from selfless. His entire point is that he’s a control freak who craves certainty. His stands are all focused on this obsession over control. White Snake can manipulate people down to taking their soul. C-Moon has control over the fundamental force of gravity. Made in Heaven can remake the universe itself to Pucci’s specification. Dio catches on to this immediately when he notes Pucci is reading a book about a man who abandons the priesthood and retires to a quiet life in the country. That’s Pucci’s game plan. His ultimate goal is to enslave the world to certainty so he never has to worry again. His comeuppance comes from the one force he could never control, his brother. Ultimately he is taught the lesson that God/Fate favors those who walk the path of Justice boldly, not those who cower in certainty.
My favorite misconception regarding Pucci is his idea for the goal of Made in Heaven. He believes that MIH can help humanity by helping them come to terms with their own fate. Which people confuse with Part 6 Dio, thinking that he wants to do it for the same reason, when he really just wants to reset the universe.
@@kielpogi8062 basically, at the end of the day he wanted to rule the world and what better to prevent people from even trying to overthrow him than by showing their predestined fate, failure in this case.
Funny Valentine is a joke who sits on his ass for 2/3 of the part, killsteals his way into the plot, and plays keep away with his stand in a way that would make Diavolo blush
@@emblemblade9245 not really he played things behind the scenes and he's a fucking president of the US I don't think he could go anywhere with out it being a big deal
@@pokemon22322most of his behind the scenes stuff was offscreen and had very little impact overall, or handled by his supervisors. And I don’t necessarily dislike villains who are only active at the end in general, but a big deal is made of Valentine’s resolve to get the corpse, put up against the resolve of the other characters, but the whole thing falls flat to me when he just killsteals or gets uncharacteristically lucky (since Fate isn’t as relevant in the SBRverse) to get the corpse. His actions don’t live up to the stated characterization for me, and he doesn’t do much to show things like Pucci’s growth, Kira’s villain protagonism, or Dio’s unbreakable dark bond with the history of the protagonists.
To me Emporio winning wasn’t much of a blow because he was framed at least in the anime as the second most important character. he’s the deuteragonist. Him “winning through the power of friendship and that gun he found” felt fitting, even more so since the gun is one pucci dropped.
Dio constructing Achieve Heaven plan just to made himself a king of the world and then there's Pucci, a pastor that only wants a good thing for people ironically made the world even worse by sacrificing a lot of human life, contradicting with his believe and even erasing a whole bloodline just for his boyfriend to have a happy life. Even before that he even made a sin by planning to take his own brother's life. He believed he do it for everyone, acting like a God who can control everything, but he actually only do it for himself, only for his boyfriend.
Pucci's plan is basically the equivalent of buying a book and skipping all the way to the final chapter without reading the middle. A world of spoilers, a world without the element of surprise. How would you feel if you knew exactly how many steps you would take before you get run over by a car? And you have no way of stopping it because fate can not be changed. At least, that's how Pucci feels.
jo jo is famous for having to just accept what ever comes up no matter if its like tasting horse shit to figure out which direction someone went or using a sword names pluck to kill zombie vampires in 19th century england, it is a lot like One Piece in that sense of just rolling with the punches
Kars ultimately also succeeded in his goal, and he IS still alive; just give him a few billion years till he find another planet Bro is going to terraform himself a new world
Actually with Kars, I think it was explained that he drifted in space for so long that his mind/conciseness died due to basically being inactive for so long.
You can really see Araki improving his writing, culminating in Pucchi. Just such a great villain! He also felt so scary when i read the manga, he was truly a thread. Man i love Stone Ocean and Pucchi Edited typo
Pucci is kinda in the realm of MCU's Thanos where they believe their actions are selfless and for the better of the universe but actually a somewhat selfish motive of wanting to dictate what is right for everyone else,
That, and halving the world's population only takes us back to the 1970s number-wise and it doesn't solve the demographic crisis (ie, population pyramid) in the _slightest._
3:48 Think it's worth noting that the time manipulation is an evolution of the gravity manipulation. It works similarly to "Superman goes back in time by spinning the earth backwards" logic, though it's rooted in Einstein's concept of relativity and instead of spinning the earth backwards to reverse time, it spins the earth forwards to accelerate time. Superman likewise didn't actually spin the Earth backwards, he traveled faster than light in accordance with special relativity so from his perspective, it was going backwards.
seeing pucci backstory i found him evil because his masterplan is making people accept their destiny and it feels like he just don’t want to feel guilty for causing his sister death
It's not exactly accepting because characters in JoJo are fated to their end, it's more so that he's giving them precognition abilities against their will, for some a boon and others a fate worse than death due to how people may react to knowing their future.

@@frostbite_1244Kars would probably not take the news that he truly is stuck in space forever rather well.
1:06 Does _anyone_ count Santana? LOL Honestly I was surprised when If the Empeor Had a TTS Device (RIP) introduced Santodes. He was a dreadnought (meaning he thankfully couldn't take his armor off) who was in fact not a member of the Fabulous Custodes but he did share their shared personality traits (including his dismay for not being able to take his armor off).
Next you’ll say… something about the pillar men soon… hopefully! In all seriousness, this was a great video, and it’s given me a much greater appreciation of Pucci as both a character & a villain. Maybe if he’d never met Dio or found another way to reveal the truth about Weather being his brother, he could’ve lived a happier life.
Knowing your fate doesnt prevent you from performing the actions. If pearla and weather knew they were related they wouldnt not act on that fates design, they would simply be aware of their own fate. Because to act against fate would change it and thus negate it. And in jojo fate is just that powerful.
I like Pucci as a villain, his design, not so much(i greatly preffer another villains for that, like Dio himself, or "Fugo", even tho his fully on murderer and traitor plot got removed entirely from the story), but my favorite part is his brilliant improving as his role on his plan got more and more serious and closer to and end, and i think it's shame (but also a strong point of his character) that he as a religious person doesn't trully understand people and what moves them, what motivates us, what makes wanna live. He thought to himself, "i had a horrible fate, so maybe, knowing about all of it, would have made me feel peace with myself, instead of hunting me, so i will give peace to humanity", when in actuality, is that same uncertainty and random factor of life what makes us THRIVE ❤ Because we can always have something to desire, to wish, to root for, to influence. Without all of that, life would feel meaningfull and miserable. My initial thought when i read his plan on the screen was, "Damn, then what about people that will die young? They will live knowing their life meant nothing in the grand scheme of things, bc they will die young, prematurely, before developing any skill, or exploring their full potential, so they might give up entirely, because… There is no point if there won't be any difference bc of their existence in the end, not even for their close ones." And as someone who felt like almost doing the unaliving myself at 15, before even being remotely good at art(i started to draw again at 13 y.o.), this kinda thought really makes me feel sad and awakens compassion in me. My life would not have been the same if i knew what was going to happen, i would have probably gave up on life real soon, before even coming to this age(25), and it would have been horrible for my family and my loved ones. That's why Pucci's plan is flawled and selfish from the start. His short-sight view of things and life was his ultimate demise, and that's why it's such a good villain. He improves and does his best thorought the story, but he's not perfect either.
Think a lot of issues with Pucci and how the community sees him is the pace of the Part 6 anime. Wouldn't call it rushed but some points are brought up and then you forget them later. They are not given time to be a slowly engrave in your mind. Unless you go back and rewatch his conversations with Dio some things that are mentioned in passing might slip by when they become important later in the story. And we all know more people watch the anime rather than read the manga. A second viewing helps a lot. Also felt the traslations (both dub and subtitles) had some weird choices with certain words. At least for the Spanish sub version I watched. For real even after he completes Made in Heaven I couldn't fully grasp the idea of heaven Pucci had 😂
Pucci is definitely my second or third favourite villain in Jojo (it changes depending on if I view part one Dio and part three DIO as different characters or if I think Pucci is a better villain than part one Dio) but he’s definitely my most hated person in all of Jojo. Not because he’s a bad character far from it it’s mainly because of his actions throughout part six. As Weather said the worst type of evil is the type to not know that it is and boy Pucci fits that description perfectly. Like trying to impose on everyone that everyone would be better if they knew they’re own fates yet I don’t think that’s what he wants. Like right before the beat down from Weather Report he begs Emporio for to stop even though his death is clearly imminent from the oxygen poisoning and Weather Report’s fist crushing his skull he can’t accept to die there even though he wants everyone to accept their fates but he can’t accept his own which just makes that beat down all the more satisfying Also I would argue that Pucci’s defeat was a team effort from Jolyne, Weather and Emporio, I mean here are three people who have all had their lives ruined (sending Jolyne to prison, taking away Weather’s memories and not explaining why he went after him, and killing Emporio’s mum and his friends he made in prison) and all aided to his death like Weather giving his life to get the Stone Ocean group his stand, Jolyne buying time for Emporio to escape sacrificing herself in the process and Emporio inserting the Weather’s stand to finally defeat Pucci all together makes for the most satisfying villain defeats in all of Jojo Also another reason why I my most hated person in Jojo is because his killed Jolyne my favourite Jojo So TL;DR Pucci got everything coming to him and that’s why he’s an amazing villain Also good video Kamen good job in finding how Stone Free and Pucci’s stands are foils to one another
He's also been voiced by Joji Nakata (Fate/Stay Night: Kirei Kotomine) in th JoJo game Eyes of Heaven. While he's voice in the anime by Tomokazu Seki (Fate/Stay Night: Gilgamesh), who tempted the priest Kirei).
ngl one thing I always found intresting about Jolyne and Pucci was also how it came to their deaths. Jolyne knew she would die to Pucci since she was slowing the dolphin down and she accepted her fate to buy Emporio the time he needed to escape with weathers without any regrets. At the same time, Pucci at deaths door constantly refused to die and accept his fate since he was so close to his goal showing an underrated opposition that isn't really talked about often.
A good way to compare Puuci's actions is to that of Madara Uchiha. While not a 1-1 ratio, both men had somewhat tragic lives ordained by fate that sought to force the world into a state of stagnation. In Jojo's while Pucci's goal could be seen as Noble, Fate is a tangible force akin to gravity. It's something Dio in that century came to realize. Knowing ones fate can be nice but when your unable to change it, it becomes stagnant as you have no free will then. Madara took a similar path by forcing the infinite Tsukiyomi onto the world, giving everyone their ideal dream life. Ignoring all the Ototsuki crap, the main difference between Puuci and Madara though comes down to the end result. At least with Puuci and the Heavenly plan, while free will was all but extinguished, the illusion still remained whereas with Madara, it all was an illusion, it was only the illusion
ah, pucci, my goat next you'll say: My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
I appreciated how ACTIVE Pucci was in the plot from start to finish. We, ironically, haven't really had that since Part 1 Dio. Can't wait for 2030 when we get SBR :,)
I always liked that Emporio defeated the villian, since a major part of Stone Ocean’s theme is legacy. Emprio at that point carride tge kegacy of all his friends, yes he defeated the priest with Weather Report’s stand, but it was Joylene who got him that far.
pucci was the best caracther from part 6. he was the most complexed caracther from this part. if he stoped his brother to cimted incest, he would be a good person.
So... early on in the video... you mentioned that Whitesnake's disks could hold things like "eyesight and boiling water" ... I dont know if you knew this or not... but just in case you didnt, the disk didnt hold the memory of boiling water... it held a stand whose ability was causing water to boil... Great video btw... had to stop halfway through but I came back since I really enjoy how you go about breaking down a character or idea.
I always enjoyed the Irony of his use of his stand Pucci always had White Snake to do his dirty deeds (he he), not just to keep his identity unknown but arguably because he likely would view it as "someone else" committing his sins With C-Moon, I haven't given it much thought, though maybe it could be representing how he views himself as the center of the universe, something that isn't a godly point of view, though I could be wrong Finally, Made in Heaven is a literal White Horseman of the Apocalypse and he quite literally plays God. I always found the amount of details Araki puts in his characters incredible because it's like solving a 5D maze, thus I can always find something else with it
This may seem callous, but I feel the reason part 6 is underatted\divisive is because you have to think with part 6. This does not mean its a lot to grasp or extremely complicated but you have to pay attention. I remember before the anime the sheer amount of people calling things plotholes or "arakai forgot" moments when in reality it was due to lack of reading whats in front of you that happened. The fanbase was not used to it. I for one love part 6 in its entirely because of the themes and stories, while keeping the identity of jojo.
One of my biggest, and possibly only problem with Pucci's backstory is that the people he hired were racist, so much so that they went all out against Weather and the sister just because they were loosely related to black people. But, if they were THAT racist, why didn't they go after Pucci, an actual black man showing up at their doorstep? Why did they never go after him? Like I'm not saying i would have wanted them to dispatch of the main villain just because of his skin color, racism and that Klan in particular are bad for so many obvious reasons, but it just doesn't make much sense to me that such an element would be included in the story and yet that they would never target the most obious target in their perspectives.
@@darioalejandrosirventgarci743 1. Pucci was a priest. I think even they wouldn't go as far as attacking a priest. 2. Pucci isn't really black. He is of Sicilian descent and they have darker skin
Pucci was such a good villain once Araki finished drawing and writing Stone Ocean he literally ran out of ideas because he thought he reached his peak in terms of writing

Nations were born through the deaths of thousands, plenty of inventions came from military origin...
personally i love pucci because of how well whitesnake represents him, he is someone who claims to be holy yet is a complete liar and doesn't even know that himself, sentient stands are created when the user conceals part of their true nature and whitesnake is the most expressive and angry stand in the series, pucci kills, he steals, he lies, he has an extreme ego, feeling that he has to punish jolyne for getting in his way yet says "i did not attain this ability to dispose of you." even though punishment is the role of the christian god. he also claims to not desire power yet he even thinks that cmoon already makes him invincible despite invincibility not being his goal, when dio first met the guy he found an adult book when he is supposed to be a priest, all in all pucci is so interesting because he is such a walking contradiction
but he did win in the end since the universe got reset
@@DeiManThe1 not really since the goal was for everyone to know every important action in their life before it happened, emporio stopped that so pucci lost
@@_thecrosswaygood comment but did you just call whitesnake the angriest stand when king crimson exists?
Pucci is a rare example of a purely villainous character who has a lot of character development while staying evil. Which is something I really like about him. Being an active villain who's growing constantly with well thought out plans.
What makes this interesting for me is how Jolyne undergoes a character arc of her own throughout part 6.
what about kira who used bites to dust twice before getting crushed by an ambulance
@abhinavdattayeah, I though Kira’s skill with stands developed a lot throughout part 4

Pucci is a very solid villain... sometimes a bit too ass-pully, but him being active in the plot was such a refreshing take on Jojo villains...
fr, pucci is always fighting the gang instead of fighting like once at the end
I guess it was needed. White snake could have been beaten by jolyne without much trouble. Even c Moon was beatable. It was only when he got made in heaven that he finally became unstoppable. And even then he almost died.
@@rishabhanand4973 when he got made in heaven the fight between him and everyone else wasnt close until he insta lost at the end to emporio
All of pucci’s evolutions made sense where are the asspulls lol
I personally think Pucci was deceptively selfless. Sure his goal sounds noble but in the end he was a man that couldn't come to peace with his own trauma and sought to create a world where he can be free from it, imposing his desire on all of humanity. And his care for others is dubious considering how he treats others throughout the story. In the end his goal was ultimately selfish in nature but wore the veil of altruism, not unlike Valentine in part 7.
Is that not deceptively sel _fish?_
i'm guessing what OP meant is that you'd mistake Pucci's actions as being "selfless" when in fact on closer examination its "selfish"
Yea he's pretty Shellfish hehe(allergy)
I was under the impression that Pucci being a priest was a visual pun.
DIO means God.
And God's servant is a priest.
Bit I both
Pucci has long been my favourite Jojo villain. From his character design to his stand I just love him as a character.
Next you'll say..."Pucci in his sorrow and pain failed to perceive that the plan he called 'heaven' was being whispered to him by a demon"
Oh man that quote is cold 🥶
Pucci in his sorrow and pain failed to perceive that the plan he called 'heaven' was being whispered to him by a demon
...ah shit-
Pucci's Heaven plan where humanity knows exactly what's gonna happen and that it's just gonna loop all over again is just gonna result in nihilism.
My favorite thing about villains like Pucci, Dr.Doom, and Fire Emblem's Edelgard, came straight from Weather Report. "The worst kind of evil is one that doesn't know it is evil."
These are Villains who are so headstrong in their beliefs that think they they must be the heroic goodguy for stopping the bloodlines/system that caused them so much suffering and that the world they are making will justify any actions that could be seen as evil or bad.
And my retort to Weather Report would be: "Had you met DIO or Cioccolata, you wouldn't be so harsh on Pucci"
I freakin love dr.doom thank u for mentioning him!
Pucci literally said that to Thunder Mcqueen
Jolyne is my favorite Jojo, but I will say that I am perfectly fine with her performance in the final arc of Stone Ocean, for three reasons:
1. She had a very satisfying fight with Pucci when he had C-Moon
Jonathon 😂

Same! Kira and Valentine are my other favorites.

When I talk to Dio AI, I even fell for his charm and ideas of Happiness. And that is scary.
How can people dislike him?
Also his whole goal turns into people knowing their fate yet being unable to change it which is counter to him doing it so people could avoid tragedy
Pucci being retconned from reality could very well be Pucci’s punishment for altering reality, given JoJo’s heavy Cristian symbolism & Pucci’s position as a priest opens this up to interpretation.
Pucci arguably would have been a way more popular villain if it wasn’t for the stupid batch releases for the anime
Most definitely
Part 6 will always be cursed to be the most hated sadly. From being skipped to the horrible batches
it's my favourite @@Commander-peepers

This was a pretty good video although you forgot to mention one factor with Joylne, she carried out Jonathan's words of fighting into a battle knowing you'll lose alongside forgetting the fact that Empiro carried out the wishes of all the comrades he met when getting weather report but other than that, really good video covering a Jojo villain
Whitesnake is outright one of the best villain stands in JoJo honestly
It's _terrifying,_ no cap.
And it's because Pucci uses it *correctly.*
"save the Pillar Men for last, at least the animated JoJo videos for my villain analysis"
Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe one off episode villains soon then :P
Also funnily enough, the boiling water as a disc wasn't taking an aspect like Pucci did with eyesight or Hallelujah music, but an actual random stand he had collected alongside all the other unseen ones hidden in that tire near Foo Fighters' original home.
Pucci is such an underrated villain
JoJo villains in general are top their, in my opinion
Ultimately he is taught the lesson that God/Fate favors those who walk the path of Justice boldly, not those who cower in certainty.
... Yes, I know. I'm saying HE sees himself as selfless.
I LOVE PUCCI and I'm so glad to see another analysis of him!!

This isn't a video for funny valentine lol
@@pokemon22322 okay true

Man i love Stone Ocean and Pucchi
Edited typo
A great video as always.
Keep the gold work up
seeing pucci backstory i found him evil because his masterplan is making people accept their destiny and it feels like he just don’t want to feel guilty for causing his sister death

Next you’ll say… something about the pillar men soon… hopefully!
In all seriousness, this was a great video, and it’s given me a much greater appreciation of Pucci as both a character & a villain. Maybe if he’d never met Dio or found another way to reveal the truth about Weather being his brother, he could’ve lived a happier life.
i literally just finished reading part 6 today, what perfect timing !!
Knowing your fate doesnt prevent you from performing the actions. If pearla and weather knew they were related they wouldnt not act on that fates design, they would simply be aware of their own fate. Because to act against fate would change it and thus negate it. And in jojo fate is just that powerful.
I am still of the opinion u can switch the joestar of part 5 & 6 and their dynamic would still work with the villains heck maybe even better
This is why Pucci is my favourite villain!
He thought to himself, "i had a horrible fate, so maybe, knowing about all of it, would have made me feel peace with myself, instead of hunting me, so i will give peace to humanity", when in actuality, is that same uncertainty and random factor of life what makes us THRIVE ❤
Because we can always have something to desire, to wish, to root for, to influence.
Without all of that, life would feel meaningfull and miserable.
My initial thought when i read his plan on the screen was,
"Damn, then what about people that will die young? They will live knowing their life meant nothing in the grand scheme of things, bc they will die young, prematurely, before developing any skill, or exploring their full potential, so they might give up entirely, because… There is no point if there won't be any difference bc of their existence in the end, not even for their close ones."
And as someone who felt like almost doing the unaliving myself at 15, before even being remotely good at art(i started to draw again at 13 y.o.), this kinda thought really makes me feel sad and awakens compassion in me.
One of the best antagonist I ever seen by far
Next you'll say, "the worst part of part six was how loose they were playing with concept of the stands!"
Like right before the beat down from Weather Report he begs Emporio for to stop even though his death is clearly imminent from the oxygen poisoning and Weather Report’s fist crushing his skull he can’t accept to die there even though he wants everyone to accept their fates but he can’t accept his own which just makes that beat down all the more satisfying
Also I would argue that Pucci’s defeat was a team effort from Jolyne, Weather and Emporio, I mean here are three people who have all had their lives ruined (sending Jolyne to prison, taking away Weather’s memories and not explaining why he went after him, and killing Emporio’s mum and his friends he made in prison) and all aided to his death like Weather giving his life to get the Stone Ocean group his stand, Jolyne buying time for Emporio to escape sacrificing herself in the process and Emporio inserting the Weather’s stand to finally defeat Pucci all together makes for the most satisfying villain defeats in all of Jojo
Also another reason why I my most hated person in Jojo is because his killed Jolyne my favourite Jojo
So TL;DR Pucci got everything coming to him and that’s why he’s an amazing villain
Also good video Kamen good job in finding how Stone Free and Pucci’s stands are foils to one another
15:59 - 17:36 This ending was so satisfying
"Next you'll say..."
I'll always find funny that the Japanese VA for Pucci also voiced Daru in Steins;Gate
That and his VA voiced Werehog Sonic in Sonic Unleashed
The old ASB va for pucci is both neco arc chaos and alucard in hellsing ultimate
I can't wait to see the pillar men, I liked them so much I used them as a bit of inspiration for some villains in a Dragon Ball campaign
HELL YEAH FINALLY PUCCI APPRECIATION
Next you'll say MangaKamen doesn't disappoint
Next you'll say: "The time has come. Awaken my masters"
Ay yi, _yi yi yi yi yiiiiii~_
mezametamae waga arujitachi yo
21:28 THE GREATER GOOD IS COMING TO YOU FROM MY BOLTER, ALIEN!
6:18 the woman: I am already DED...
YES HE MADE THE PUCCI VIDEO
ah, pucci, my goat
next you'll say: My name is Yoshikage Kira.
I should actually get around to finishing part 6.
Next you say "the video of the pillar men are going to have to be hold for later"
pucci was the best caracther from part 6. he was the most complexed caracther from this part. if he stoped his brother to cimted incest, he would be a good person.
So... early on in the video... you mentioned that Whitesnake's disks could hold things like "eyesight and boiling water" ... I dont know if you knew this or not... but just in case you didnt, the disk didnt hold the memory of boiling water... it held a stand whose ability was causing water to boil...
Great video btw... had to stop halfway through but I came back since I really enjoy how you go about breaking down a character or idea.
I always enjoyed the Irony of his use of his stand
Pucci always had White Snake to do his dirty deeds (he he), not just to keep his identity unknown but arguably because he likely would view it as "someone else" committing his sins
With C-Moon, I haven't given it much thought, though maybe it could be representing how he views himself as the center of the universe, something that isn't a godly point of view, though I could be wrong
Finally, Made in Heaven is a literal White Horseman of the Apocalypse and he quite literally plays God.
I always found the amount of details Araki puts in his characters incredible because it's like solving a 5D maze, thus I can always find something else with it
Next thing you'll say is, "wow, we hit that goal fast"
Next you’ll say…
“The Pillar Men theme was peak!”
Pucci just won, no other way to out it
Next you’ll say….”Hey Risotto Nero and La Squadra Esecuzioni are really well designed villains and deserve their own video”
@@darioalejandrosirventgarci743
1. Pucci was a priest. I think even they wouldn't go as far as attacking a priest.
2. Pucci isn't really black. He is of Sicilian descent and they have darker skin
@@lisboahPucci is mixed
Pucci was such a good villain once Araki finished drawing and writing Stone Ocean he literally ran out of ideas because he thought he reached his peak in terms of writing
NEXT YOU’LL SAY…”Great video Kamen, really did Pucci justice! Can’t wait for the Pillar Men video”
Great video Kamen, really did Pucci justice! Can’t wait for the Pillar Men video…HUH!?
Next you'll say "I was already planning to do the Pillar Men video next"
I dropped jojo at part 8, now i wanna retake it
