Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.

Close to a decade ago when I was getting into firearms, I messaged him asking about which surplus WW2 bolt action I should get.
Whether it was him, or his son managing the channel, the Hickock family took the time to write a detailed response about what they’d think is a great surplus WW2 bolter to get.
It’s genuine guys like Hickok and Ian from Forgotten Weapons that help destigmatize firearms for those of us that are passionate about their history, and inner workings.
I love this guy!
Your name is testrecord?. Interesting.
@@josephlongo877 Haha yes. Years ago I was working on some code for RUclips. I should change that name.
$3,200 plus $2.60 a round for ammo is outta my plinking range😂
That fugly thing costs that much!? Nah I'm good, I will stick with getting an AR10 🤣
😂 Same here.
Me too😂
For 3200$ You can buy 320 kilos of fresh deer meat. 😂
@@treesoul00 Hickok45 is using cheat codes. 😂
I have the mini fix in 300 BLK. I love it. Quietest rifle I have.
Suppressed firepower with the energy of a heavy bullet and ultrafast twist seems to be the raison d'être for this 8.6 round and this rifle.
that's why @forgottenweapons is using it, suppressed, as his hunting rifle.
Love my 8.6. Built the AR version myself for under 1500. 12 inch faxon, DPMS lower and upper, adjustable gas.
How much spin drift at 200 yards? 3-4"?
I honestly could not tell you this information.
@@EssPhour i have a 8 inch ar10 build, virtually no spin drift at 500+ yards. it has a 1 in 3 twist rate, its a laser.
hickok explains Q so so well "its interesting its nothing i would purchase its nothing you would" "troubles getting ammo" "kind of interesting" "got it forgot about it but here it is"
I logged onto youtube looking for a very specific video, saw a hikok upload, immediately clicked it, and now I can't remember what I originally logged on for
It's okay everyone I remember what it was: the video of alvin and the chipmunks singing the isis theme song (pretty sure it was deleted off youtube)

Hickok, that brake is likely on there with a high temperature thread locker called Rocksett. Soak the muzzle brake in water for about 30min. That should dissolve it enough to bust the brake off.
It’s not held on with anything it takes a socket to get it off
@@13bredlegextraordinaire Do you think he was trying to get it off with just his fingers? The poster is saying that in addition to being threaded on and tightened with a socket, that most muzzle devices are secured in place with Rocksett, a mild thread locker that holds up to high heat, since you wouldn’t use a crush washer on a suppressor host. Point being, if you don’t have a good way to lock the rifle into a vice, or don’t want to mar the rifle, getting a muzzle device off that has thread locker on it can be a bear.
just get the q silencer it’s a system
@@jimyeats idk what kind of guns you guys are getting I’ve never had that problem I have the fix in 308 and when you use the proper tools it’s not that hard
@@13bredlegextraordinaire You're right, usually it isn't. But anyone who has a large amount of rifles and suppressors will absolutely tell you they have encountered some muzzle devices that are a bear to get off. Luckily most are on standardized AR platforms where there are plenty of options for safely holding the frame or barrel to apply torque.
Let's take the example here with this gun. If this muzzle device was over tightened or a thread locker used, and it's a loaner gun from Budsgunshop and you don't want to disassemble it (since it's not yours) and you certainly don't want to mar the finish, then there is going to be limited ways to secure the frame safely. I don't know of a frame block, nor do I know of action rod that will work, and many folks don't have those. So you would need to either stick a mag in the gun and clamp the magazine, which isn't optimal, or you could clamp the frame or handrail, also not optimal.
Not to mention Hickok probably doesn't care that much. So he's not going to risk marring the gun to get the muzzle device off.
A ton of power in an ultra quiet package when suppressed . The innovation at least is pretty cool
Yeah, but what does this do that a 350 legend, 300 blk, etc. won't do? idk
@@bobanderson6656my understanding is that it’s a cartridge more capable of taking the really big game
@@bobanderson6656 kills water buffalo with one shot. the ballistics are in a different range completely.
Super smooth bolt action that made me fall in love with the fix rifle.
That has been my new grail piece. The specs and ability are so cool. 300 yards with subsonic ammo on a 16” barrel
I was lucky enough to fire one at range day. I feel like it will revolutionize the direction of ballistic designs
Thanks for posting and sharing.
Hickok does not miss
This is an aspirational gun for me! I love the ingenuity and craftsmanship, some day God willing
That's an unusual looking projectile launcher.
My 12" Fix in 8.6 Blk is on the way. So is my 16" Fix in 6 ARC. Cannot wait!
You’re gonna be the happiest person alive! I have a 12” 8.6 with a Porq Chop and it’s comical how quiet the thing is. Pure bliss to shoot. My 6 ARC mini is arriving tomorrow so I’m ecstatic! Haha
@@resinadao502 Already loving the Trash Panda on my 300 blk. Can't wait!
Among some of the most important things about that particular tool is that it is designed to work best with the same manufacturers silencers.
And I bet they would be willing to work with you get one installed . That is specific designed suppressors requiring tools to install..
i have an 8.6. And suppressed with subsonic ammo is a dream to shoot. Still a little gimmicky imo. But for something where i don’t have to always have on ear pro it’s really nice. A suppressor is mandatory tho. It’s the same concept as 300 blk. Unless you’re suppressing it, it’s kinda useless
I agree, good unbiased opinion!
I disagree on the 300BLK. My Sugar Weasel shoots really nice and once I get another safe, it will be my primary home defense gun. My Eotech lets me reach out to 100 yards which is far more than I'll ever need. Yeah, I hope to suppress it but I keep hoping SCOTUS destroys the NFA so I don't have to register the cans.
Beatiful looking rifle. Form + function.
The brake is probably rockset on. Soak it boiling water for a couple hours before trying to remove it. If that still doesnt work, you can get a plan b pattern mount for the Banish that will thread right onto the cherry bomb
I have one in 6.5 and it's one of my favorite rifles in my collection. Every time I've gone to the range with it people always come up and ask what the hell I'm shooting.
That is a bummer about the suppressor. Thanks for showing it off regardless! 8.6 is fascinating
The Fix SBR with a can is a special kind of shooting experience.
I have this in 308 and it’s probably close to my favorite firearm very well made and a great shooter
Definitely a niche weapon, it reminds me of some of rainier arms designs. God Bless the H45 family!
I buy a RIA TM 22 . Cool Stock though ..Toys for the wealthy not the working class . Nice video .
Love the idea of that being a multi caliber hunting/target rifle! 👍🏼
Yeah, Q’s real claim of fame QSert, it’s lighter and over twice as strong as MLOK. The threaded inserts are actually made of 17-4 heat treated stainless and each one has 900 pounds of pull before it will fail! Basically meaning you can mount lasers or you can mount anything that needs to retain a zero and it will retain a zero! If you notice the muzzle cherry bomb, it’s the same 17-4 heat treat SS. The Q honey badger is there true OG. I can’t wait to see their Boom Box. Apparently, Q’s Founder & CEO Kevin says that’s their Magnum Opus.
its supposed to be the ultimate bush gun for suppressed sub-sonic hunting. you wouldn't necessarily want this for plinking or competition shooting because its way to light. its meant to be hiked with, hauled into the mountains, or strapped to a ruck while marching through dense foliage
Sir...thnx for what you do, I look foreward to every video. You keep people informed on what's what with firearms! Again thanx!!
Q LLC makes some of the best stuff on the planet.
This is a renegade type of shoooters thats a special that made in the great countryside 😅
very surprised you don't have a Q Short Chop or Q Porq Chop suppressor for this video - shooting sub ammo with a can on a 86blk bolt gun is superb
Sounds like the Apple of guns. Did you try lefty loosey? On this gun maybe a parabolic motion with a galactic momentum wrench is needed? I think they sell one.
Pretty much, except Q is even douchier.
That's definitely an answer to something. I just have no idea what the question was.
That was a great safety on flinch. I flinch harder though.
Same here, I flinch like the round went off! Lol
Do a chapter 2 with a Porq Chop!
California Compliant & Legal AR-15 Hickok45
I got a mini fix in 300blk and it’s the best gun ever
Adopted many of the same adjustments as you could find on a Biathlon competition rifle (Anschutz) ...
Serious question. Would an AR platform like this be completely legal in CA? As it has an bolt instead. Does it still need those dumb fin grips and are all rifles with mags limited to 10?
It's a 16" bolt action, it's perfectly legal everywhere. And in California, 16" ARs with all features become legal with a Kali Key (turns your AR into a straight pull bolt action.
Getting my Hickok45 fix this morning.
Thanks for showing cartridges
thats a sweet piece of kit
but if the fix breaks can you fix the fix?
First time I've heard of this rifle or this caliber.
Sounds awesome even un suppressed!
Awesome video nice rifle thanks for sharing Hickok45
Had a 308 not long after they came out. Thing had a 40% ftf rate on Federal Gold Medal 168. Took the unified rounds and all fired in my ar-10. Q told me to use ammo with softer primers. If a gun won’t work on Federal ammo, it ain’t worth my time. Just glad I recovered $3000 from it used.
@hickok45 did you get the fix at the time of the free silencer promo?
Damn, you make that bullet into a JHP, it'll be an inch shorter. Even a tiny HP like a .22lr would probably make it 1/4 shorter.
Should do a SD 2.0
That will take out Elk or Bear. Nice rifle!
So will a standard 308 tho. It’s a very niche round. The rifle, a little overpriced for a bolt action and what you’re getting but it is a very nice rifle.
If you can make your shot placement. Subsonic loads have the same external ballistics as subsonic .22lr. Anything over 100m is a difficult shot.
If you can place the shot, it will. Subsonic loads have the same external ballistics as subsonic .22lr. Difficult to make a shot over 100m.
Great video and awesome rifle. Would you please do a review on a Webley Mk .IV 38 S&W . Keep up the great work
Not a hunter, shame. Most of our best fighting men have been raised to hunt.
I like innovation. Despite it not being in my wheelhouse, this is what drives innovation for us normies.
Tennessee flooded - explains the lack of videos lately! Also I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the Great Madrid Fault Line when the shit really hits the fan this year!
No "lack of videos" from us? You mean other video makers?
I came close to purchasing a Fix in 6.5 cm some years back. The feel of it is... well, not super comfortable. I bought a Christensen MPR instead. Still a pricey rifle, but more comfortable and it did cost less, allowing much nicer optics. Q seems to be very overpriced, in my opinion. But, hey, to each their own.
I thought they were calling this new round a 8.6 blackout, so an AR10 platform would be less expensive than a precision bolt rifle 😂
I like the 8.6 concept, but I’ll stick with my tried and true 308
Terrible Bc versus modern ammo
@@vikingdriftwhat
@@vikingdriftyeah but at least it will get down range of whatever you’re shooting at. I’m guessing this stuff drops off more than 300bo which is already awful past 300m
308 still has another 600m in it
Quite the punkin slinger
That’s awesome
Notbinto bolt-actions, but that is cool.
It drills holes ! Nice review . Ruger take note . Hornady ammo . Any one to make this happen for the masses .
Glad you dont hunt.. Which is why I like your channel.....unusual rifle .. Nice video
I'm too lazy to hunt; I get all my meat the easy way, as do most people; I pay others to do the dirty work so that I can just conveniently pick it up at the local market. :-)
I DO make sure I "conveniently" pick up plenty of good red meat, though, as it's the healthiest food one can eat.
I enjoy watching other people shoot it. Kevin says that hiring the best gun designers and engineers, to create a new rifle, takes money. They don't work for free.
Propane torch, the brake will come right off. I just took one off of my Fix in .308. I like the gun but mine doesn’t group at all. I kind of wish I would have bought a Sig Cross instead,,,
Well done
This is peak grandpa flex.
A suppressed platform with no suppressor… Sweet !
I would hate to be in combat with Hickok he always forgets to take a safety of
The same company created the Honey Badger rifle.
All the B.S. for suppressors just irritates me. Why can we not use these health and safety devices at our ranges or were-ever we go hunting? Even here in Canada they are totally prohibited. Clay
I don't know why people complain about expensive guns. There's enough cheap ones out there. I know because that's all I can afford lol
That’s a cool rifle right there
6.5 cm came from the 30 tc
I would have thought that u would have known more about the 8.6 or the fix before you did a show on it
Such a sick gun, just get it in another caliber like 308, so sick
My wife said I could buy one, but then she gets to go to Hawaii by herself. The Fix should arrive in two days.
Did they happen to mention estimated barrel life?
Why don't you use your RUclips merch shelf?
As long as it has a flip safety and skinny barrel shroud the tactical elitist RUclips beard product operators will buy it
👍 Nice Rifle 👍

@hickok45 Could you please do a Savage impulse review
Beautiful weapon i like it.
very cool
De-esser. For the video guy.
Don't they make bolt action conversions for ar15 for people living in Cali with their "assault weapons" ban?
240,000 RPM at 1000 fps at muzzle.
Nice gun
Expensive and unobtanium in toronto
your "Can we trust the news" vid is being suppressed, who would have guessed
Barrel life? 1-3 twist 500k rpm
wait until he sees how OP'ed supressors are on 8.6 rifles
Im not opposed to expensive firearms as long as you get what you pay for. And with Q i dont believe you do.
Boy i really like that!
Why am I thinking Ikea or a way back Erector Set.
After 7.6 Mil subscribers yeah i would to
Only $3300
