I can confidently say that Johnny needs and deserves his own documentary series on gunmakers a la David Attenborough. Genuinely some of the most entertaining and interesting stuff I’ve seen in a while. Just absolutely lovely to put on to unwind at the end of the day.
I don’t understand how this video doesn’t have a million views. Excellent content, well edited, great videography, and on and on. Great job to everyone involved.
Hi, Your presentation is just: to fall on the ground!!! We can understand that these people are fabulous, but the heart you put in this narration brings a very remarkable note ! THANK YOU for giving these Artists the Honors they deserve !!!
Great video! I've been waiting for an opportunity to see RFM on film and am quite impressed with their business model. They truly blur the lines between 'bespoke' and 'custom' shotgun making. The Upland Gun Company is doing a great job of promoting these guns in the US. Delivering high quality, modern spec, affordable sxs to our market has helped renew interest in ownership. More than ever, I am questioning the differences between the terms 'bespoke' and 'custom'. My takeaway now is 'bespoke' truly only equates to 'brand or label' and 'overly expensive'. Thank you for taking us to such a wonderful place!
Dear Monsieur Jonny what a wonderful idea to join the Upland project company (that I follow also separately!) to présent and test this italian family gunmaking wonderful produits! I can't wait to see you rough shooting snipes and woodcocks in any UK or Irish bogs with your 28 ga Venus! What a show that Will be! Thanks for sharing all these Moments with us! Made my summer ! May Saint Hubert bless you all of your summer and this Season ! Boujou carolinien du Nord des USA donc !
Wow. Very nice to see “Old World” craftsmanship is still alive in a modern age of computers and lasers doing a lot of the work. Understood that the machined parts are outsourced, but the fit and finish is done by hand. Great stuff Jonnie, can’t wait to the finished gun.
I am currently in Email conversation with Jerry waiting for a TEAMS slot to discuss spec for my own 20 bore Venus S. This was solely based on this video which Johnny put over so well. What a great family business. Can’t wait.
A thoroughly enjoyable film you guys have come up with here. You could feel the love and dedication with the RFM team, no, family. Such a pleasure to see such craftsmanship on display making such beautiful guns. Thank yo JC and crew for showing me that these little gems of working environments still exist in an ever dystopian world of profit and greed. An utter delight and look forward to seeing your new gun. Clive
I have a 20 gauge field that I bought theough the Canadian dealer, basic SK field, fitted stock, 3" 20 gauge, grade 2 wood, 28" barrels, single selective trigger, orange recoil pad. My good god does it shoot; its taken game birds for me at over 60 yards and it upped my hit percentage and lethality greatly. I love that little gun dearly.
They've been on my radar for a few years now, but I had no idea what they were about. I'm legitimately impressed with what such a small concern can manufacture. And boy, was that sxs with the raised rib cool as hell!
What an absolute joy to watch. I could spend days there just watching the stock making. Somehow you’ve been able to communicate the atmosphere of the factory in your film, so bravo👏🏻and thank you for all your work and effort in doing so.
Wonderful tour!!! Today, companies compete for widgets based on volume production using CNC. No heart. No soul. Big lease payments. Little craftsmanship. Little taste. I enjoyed seeing this. These people, even though they out-source mechanicals, are makers!
I ride a 1990s Bimota motorcycle. A small Italian manufacturer (sadly went bust early 'noughties' and now part of Kawasaki!) that, like RFM put incredible detail and thought into their designs and fostered a real family spirit , whist competing against industry giants. . The RFM family's attitude is part of why (along with food, wine, culture and scenery) that I think I should have emigrated to Italy a decade ago! I guess from their whole gun prices that a custom stock from them wouldn't break the bank either? would be a great excuse for a trip to Italy!
Another awesome film, absolutely gorgeous guns. Great to see the ‘smaller’ manufacturers getting the spotlight.. And, oh my god, so much want for that .410 at 28:46 🤤 🤤 🤤 Will definitely be considering RFM for a spot (or 3) in my cabinet..
Great video, love the care the family put into making the guns and keeping the traditions alive and skills at affordable prices - interested to see your on gun review when it comes 😊
I’m excited to see how you like the finished product. The sxs 28ga has been on my radar for a while. Changing to 28ga and .410bore has changed everything for me. All my other guns rarely leave the safe now.
I have been thinking about getting one of their shotguns through UGC for a while now as my first custom and properly fitted gun for upland hunting. This might have just pushed me over the edge of making up my mind and to stop procrastinating. 🤣
Pretty cool concept. Each department is it's own profit center. Everything is Ala-Carte and you can go into as much detail as you want (for a price of course). You can easily take that $2400 gun into the stratosphere. It also seems, these aren't just employees, they are partners. Very tempted to take a trip to MN with my son, and get us both fitted
It has been quite a few decades since I last shot international trap while in Germany. I can tell you that we did not have a back drop that showed the birds so well nor orange birds. Our back drop in Fulda was woods and dark. Took a second to pick up the bird.
They probably do not have a huge marketing and management overhead. So the shotguns don't need to be ridiculously overpriced to feed the corporate leeches.
Those corporate leeches are lizard people just like you and me. They deserve our shekels and you just wouldn't understand what its like to fly private.
Fabulous video. Loved the art and craftsmanship of that family. Wow. If I ever get to visit Italy, I will have to make a visit. Superb video. Thank you.
I never heard of RFM. Thank you utube. The craftsmanship looks exquisite. I went to their website and followed the ordering form for a 20g Zeus and for approx $5500.00 you can end up with fantastic upland shotgun. However the question becomes will it fit?
You posted a video about a custom English built shotgun, it was my favorite until now. I've watched it 4 times now, each time mesmerized. I wonder if: I could supply my own blank, I could travel there for fitting and a tour... How long will you be waiting for your shotgun?
Great video. I'd like to see a detailed video of each craftsman showing what they do on the gun. How much filing and finishing do they perform on the barrels and actions for instance.
Thats some bloody spectacular craftsmanship, its refreshing to see smaller manufacturers getting the recognition and air time they deserve
Could spend a week in there just watching true craftsmen and women doing their thing
Just watched every second of this video. Absolutely amazing. I now want an RFM shotgun!
I can confidently say that Johnny needs and deserves his own documentary series on gunmakers a la David Attenborough. Genuinely some of the most entertaining and interesting stuff I’ve seen in a while. Just absolutely lovely to put on to unwind at the end of the day.
Glad to see you taking a look at Upland Gun Company and RFM!
I honestly think that this is your best film to date.
I don’t understand how this video doesn’t have a million views. Excellent content, well edited, great videography, and on and on. Great job to everyone involved.
Another fantastic story and what a great company. Proper affordable craftsmanship, which is so rare to see these days. Love it!
That is the best TGS episode that I have ever seen.......and I watched most of their shows!
What a great world we all could live in if there was more of this.
Hi,
Your presentation is just: to fall on the ground!!!

THANK YOU for giving these Artists the Honors they deserve !!!
you just showed me something I could HAVE NEVER FOUND!!! thank you!!! I now have an achieveable goal to get MY side by side!!! thank you so much!!!
I enjoyed this just as much as I enjoyed the Spanish video... And I loved the Spanish video. This was awesome!

The question isn't how can they hand make guns and sell them at the price, it's why is a Dt11, Perazzi, krieghoff in the 10s of thousands
Very good point!
True artisans creating masterpieces.

This is a spectacular operation to democratise some of the industry. Bravo. And great coverage/showcase as ever, Jonny.
I am currently in Email conversation with Jerry waiting for a TEAMS slot to discuss spec for my own 20 bore Venus S. This was solely based on this video which Johnny put over so well. What a great family business. Can’t wait.
WOW- I can hardly wait to see your finished 28 bore Jonny !!!!! What an excellent video sir !!!!!!!!!!!!.......... Thank you
Absolutely beautiful work. Stunning. What a manufacturer.
Bought a Rfm luxus sideplate 410 sbs in 2016, fantastic gun, my go to shotgun. Very well made and finished.

The woman at the end is quite brave wearing a McCleran shirt in Italy. LOL.
Mclaren*
And a Triumph motorcycle at 1:13 to boot!
Wish you released this as a members video a few days earlier than public playlists so I could get my order in before everyone else 😂😂
I’ve been looking forward to this film and it didn’t disappoint😮 really looking forward to seeing you Gun finished
The best one to date Jonnie, more like this please mate bravo 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏
Loved this one, nice to see you back on the quality, interesting and beautiful stories again, congratulations.
What an absolute joy to watch. I could spend days there just watching the stock making. Somehow you’ve been able to communicate the atmosphere of the factory in your film, so bravo👏🏻and thank you for all your work and effort in doing so.
Great Video Jonny, I do like the Factory tours very informative, The 410/28g looked fantastic.
This is one of my favorite episodes I have watched. Great story and well done.
I take my RFM into the field 40 days a year and I am not very gentle with it. This gun is awesome!
My most favorite channel video ever!Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful experience.
Fantastic video , wonderful company that produces lovely affordable guns 👍
Simply put. I need to commission one for myself. What a wonderful heirloom to pass down to my son one day.
I'm on a train home, I've just eaten dinner and I'm watching this. Life sure is sweet
Wow - just wow...
Superb…..thank you for sharing this with us. Bravo 👏👏
Magical Answer to my needs jonny I've been looking all over for 28 gauge side by side with fix bores. I'll give this company to go.
Great storytelling. I really want to buy one of these now.
Wonderful tour!!! Today, companies compete for widgets based on volume production using CNC. No heart. No soul. Big lease payments. Little craftsmanship. Little taste. I enjoyed seeing this. These people, even though they out-source mechanicals, are makers!
Another great factory video! Keep them coming!!
Love the look of the 410, I need another gun now 😊
Looking forward to seeing an update on the build.

OK I think I want to build one for Upland . With my dogs engraved pic. 🐕 😂😂. Awesome video.. Amazing .!!!
