George is a great ambassador for the sport. He's also extremely generous and kind. Top man. Respect, George and Kate.
I could listen to Mr Digweed all day long when it comes to gun skill .
Very informative
not that ive seen my hips for years . 😁🤣🤣🤣🤣 great video
Wow. A lesson money can’t buy? What a legend he is!
Great to listen to George Digweed instruct. JC face 15:57 brilliant! Another fantastic TGS production 👊 and 2024 has only just begun 👍
I could listen to this man for days, what an education.
Thanks George, lesson learned and much appreciated. Not interested in the red dot, but your stance and body line tips set me on the right path.
Great video as always. George is one of the nicest people in the sport. Every time I have met him, he always stops to say hello and has a smile. Top Man.
Johhny, that was the best detailed video you have made in a very long time. detail was understandable and precise. dialogue was very understandable and detailed to the point being made. The why and when and how was direct and to the point. any one cant gain and improve listening to this video. well done
Pure liquid gold, thanks George + Johnny !
George is a very astute teacher. Great guest, well done. 👍
Another fantastic video, thank you. Great to see George on your show.
Brilliant input from George, and Johnny as well TOP PEOPLE
Another fantastic video Jonny and He is a legend 💥
Great video Johnny. I’ve learned a lot in this video. Glad to see you are shooting a semi.
GREAT ADVICE FROM A LIVING LEGEND
Mr. Digweed is a master of his sport. Excellent instructions, and things that I need to continually keep in mind and practice.
After 40 years of shotgunning , I was out last week for some farm pigeon pest control. Like riding a bike one can’t believe that you would get Rusty, or awkward.. what a frustrating outing.
Back to basics, and many of the things MR. Digweed coaches. Becoming a capable shotgunner requires thought and practice.
I will review this video several times, fix in my mind some of the main techniques, and then back to the silos.
The coach compares shooting to Tennis, and I would agree 100%. Golf,Archery,Billards anything really. Footwork and body placement anchors everything and then build from there.
Great video and expert advice of this fantastic coach !
I only shoot swing though, i find it’s the only way I can consistently hit. Only been shooting 4 months. I’m sure other methods will come apparent as my shooting progress. Brilliant as always.
That was a great video because I watched the first one last year….Good to see you use an auto today . But George is just a machine . Great job Johnny .
Fascinating, just listening to a master is always worth concentrating on.
I’ve had this idea to create a Sporting Clays match consisting entirely of different presentations of Rabbits. 😂😂😂.
I love it!
The knowledge is awesome from George get him on again, great explanation we can all learn from
Fantastic video. Great to listen to George
The greatest sportsman of our time with out doubt and a contender for the greatest sportsman of all time.
And a gentleman to boot.
A very excited AAR clearly. Look forward to meeting you there 🤞👍
Interesting devise and concept. Yes I would say this is for beginners to help with a consistent mount or shooters with eye dominance issues. That said I believe the more you practice and become a better clay shooter the less you want to interfere with you target focus.
I’ve always said lead pictures are like a game of join the dots having a red dot as your sight picture in my mind would give you
a 100% visual view of line and lead Georges words of wisdom on swing through make a lot of sense I always use to think maintained lead was the best method for me but i’m now using swing through with as much speed as I can put into a shot.
Superb as always keep up the great vids.....
Quality day out with the master of clay shooting 💥👌🏻
brilliant vid mt, hes the best of the best.
Would be keen to try one out as it something new.,
As for a master class in shooting it was great to learn as much as possible from this legend.
Great content as alway TGS 👍
ah finally I waited for this Jonny for a long time at last a lesson from the master
Epic, indeed. Thank you.
Great video for technics
JC another great content production, just shows you what you can do when you get the best coaching from a true World Champion who can win World titles over decades and decades, no one time wonder there.
Awesome video. Took a lot from what George said in terms of stance and the difference between maintained lead and swinging through...
14:49 The pause between " He touched me... In a way" and " that means I will never miss" I found absolutely frightening.
I played a few months with using a Holosun for American trap. Yes, you're employing an aiming point 😱, but at least it's at the same focal distance with the target. Unfortunately, the rest of the sight is a distraction in the foreground. I thought putting the sight as close as possible reduced the temptation to drop your focus back to it, but it's still there, and the less straight away the target was, the bigger the distraction was for me.
I am mixxed dominance, but personally I prefer the EasyHit to a dot on a shotgun. I'd probably like this Aimpoint on a pistol, though.
Fascinating stuff!
This was awesome!
i was a maintained shooter and won a bunch, but 3. years ago moved to swing through , sustained swing through and i have to admit scores are up , miss in front more than off line .. am a believer
Great video and advice.
I thought this was great all around for many different reasons. And I definitely understand GD's reasoning on the red dot. It's fundamentally a target focused aiming system as opposed to iron sights or scopes and so seems to mesh better with shotguns, especially as a learning and communication tool.
I'm impressed. George talks a lot of sense
looks like a great tool, i just enquired with the retailer and got this reply... The retail price for the Acro S-2 will be £750.00. WHAT!!!! ILL TAKE A HARD PASS ON THAT ONE.
Foot position is way more important than I've been giving attention to. I've been giving pointers to a couple of guy's that are just starting out trap shooting, and Ican say I haven't been looking too much at their feet. Going to have to include that.
No waffle, but focused on what's necessary. Excellent.
Aimpoint rules. It's still rewarding and important to be competent with iron sights, but its next level and is a refined tech development aid that changes the game. It enables pure focus on the target at its real distance and promotes good ergonomic posture and handling technique. Once you get used to using one, it's so intuitive. You look at the target, point your body, including the gun where your eyes are looking, and when you see the red dot, pull the trigger. It's faster, more consistent, and superbly reliable. They're expensive but uncomparible quality. If you do get the chance, then persevere and be prepared to change your approach in order to realise how to use it effectively. Revise the conventional relation of gun sights to taget and look at the target in the focal plaine of the target. Even slightly poor technique, imperfect mount, band cheek weald, imbalanced footing and body movement are forgivingly compensated to a degree by the way Aimpoint red dot sights intrinsicly work.
❤
Very interesting great , I shoot all methods mainly coming from behind getting the lead seems to work.👌👍
Stop listening to Florent was George’s other advice
I'm from the U.S and a trend of sub gauge is getting really popular. Is the 12 gauge still the best option for all application. Meaning hunting, clays, waterfowling? This will help alot?
Is there a way to mount flashlight or torch as you say onto double barrels SxS, O/U? What about slings?
I am left eye dominate and shot right handed sheet for twenty years. I was HARD to be consistent even with a fitted stock.
It's been a while since you made a decent video, great stuff 👍
…. Thanks?
Great load of info to digest here. Excellent. Can you see a use for it in a pigeon hide, where every shot is different?
Keep you eyes peeled for George and I trying exactly that
I was thinking about the original video the other day and wondered what was going to come of this product.
Ace instructive video...
Great video!
I found out from Doctor Colo that I am central eye dominant. I love the concept of this red dot, should I get it to help me?? I am currently shooting occluded on the left and it’s horrible. Looking forward to hearing your advice.
Great Day!
What a legend. I've had the mick taken for years for having a red dot on my shotgun. They can't gripe at me now! Go Mr. Digweed.
If you don't mind me asking, what shooting vest were you wearing? Very classy
I just dont get his foot posititioning, John's feet is placed as he would shoot to the right when we wants to shoot to the left. Meaning feet & hips one direction and the shot the opposite. He's twined up meaning he's swing will quickly drop and he's very likely to miss the shot below. Or am I missing something here?
When i hunt in the rain every weekend water on the lens, water on the glasses makes using the force a must
When shooting in the rain, it is advisable that you make use of our flip-up lens covers for the Acro S-2. These will help prevent water from getting onto the lens. Hope this helps!
@@AimpointChannel I have S1. Can I trade it?
George's gun is beautiful!
I have tried the vortex one and it magnifies and light soces extent for wildfowling lightning quick bird ID
👍👍👌now do as you are told. top man
If you need to use a cartridge with the primer out to check zero using a o/u how do you zero it in s/a?
In this case, you will have to remove the barrel on the s/a, and then do the same procedure. We also have instructional videos and guides for zeroing on our website and RUclips channel! Hope this helps.
great product but what will the CPSA have to say about it if its used in reg comps
It would be a no from the CPSA. Rule 2.30, no devices that give magnifying, light emitting or forward lead displacement properties.
Will this ever be available/compatible for use on a s/s?
Be good to see George on more videos top man what was the beretta auto you are using 👍
That's an a400 xtreme plus. Great guns he did a review on that gun as well
I wish you or George would please explain these named target types, crow
Roller
Flopper
Curler. I've been shooting for a while and I hear these names and don't know what the target is. I think I heard someone say a crow is like a teal that you shoot on the way down?
Look at the absolute mits on this guy. God bless his wife those fingers are bbbbrazy
Looks a nicely made product to improve the eye/barrel/target relationship and some great technique insight.
However, eye dominance is a multifactorial issue for which there is NO panacea.
Some shooters may experience positive effects from beads, full occlusion dots, side-ribs, spatial gratings or any of the other commercially available aids, whereas others may experience null or
negative results.
Any product which claims to have produced a single product that “cures” eye dominance issues doesn’t understand the subject matter.
Nicely explained there Ed
Good explanation, we fully agree with your opinion that some shooters will benefit, whereas others won't. We just recently watched your video with TGS and Ed Solomon, which was a very good and instructive video on this difficult topic. Looking forward to seeing more content with you!
@@AimpointChannel looking forward to seeing one of your products in the flesh 👍
Very interesting!
Would Ben Huswaite’s Eye Dominance Rail produce similar results?
Possibly and for a tenth of the price. Plus, you can use the Eye D Rail in registered competitions.
This seems to back up my theory, that we see the "sight picture" in various ways. This product is all well and good, if you can learn to replicate it, without it fitted. Without trying it or seeing exactly what you seewhen using it, it's hard to see if it's any different, to learning to use the bead.
Would love to know what you actually see when looking through the sight
Me too, I'm intrigued if it's just like a rifle's red dot sight@roygoodwin9096
Is there any reason I shouldn’t mount the red dot to the top of my receiver since I have a rail.
It's a matter of preference in terms of where you want to place the red dot sight on the barrel. If you have a picatinny rail on a semi-auto shotgun, you can use our other sights that are made for this type of rail.
That man is one legend. Johnny, did you enjoy your masterclass?
of course
👍🏻🇨🇦Question is next time I see you will you have the aim point on?
Makes you wonder how people have been shooting shotguns successfully for over 100 years without red dots .... the only time I could see a benefit for this is if someone is suing slugs out to distance
*shooting*
Exactly. It’s like pre-loaded ammunition, recoil pads, and even eye glasses. People did just fine before they were invented too
It dont get any better than Digweed
Practice makes perfect🎉
Great video!
👏 👏 👏
This is a training aid yes? i don't think this can be used on a reg comp? great Vid though!!!!
So I don't know how the contraption on the barrel works. You are not looking straight down the barrel unless the target is straight in front of you. If it is a 50 yard crosser your looking down the side of the gun as the gun swings out in front of the target. You can't keep your eye on the barrel and the target and give it lead. Can someone explain to me.
I'm guessing the Digweed swing through method works because there is no dwell time on the target. The eyes can only sharply focus for a brief time
Could you clarify what you mean by the last sentence?
@@edlyonssportsvision9197 Hi Ed. You're the doc but....I find It's difficult to maintain sharp focus with central vision for an extended period. Why riding targets rather than pulling the trigger when you see it clearest has dire consequences. Well explained in Anthony Matarese book (he's lives across the pond from ya'll)
Sell these to Cabelas in the US and Canada
Quick question, which semi auto were you using?
An A400 extreme plus
How can one reach TGS to give him a hint for a video about his Gunmount technique?
Through Instagram or members lives are good options
I could listen to Mr. Digweed read the ingredient list off a box of cornflakes.
On another note, what gun is he shooting (not George's beautiful Perazzi), a Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus with custom coating?
It’s last years green edition - very cool Gun
@@tgsoutdoors Thank you for the reply.
George's old videos on clay shooting advise are the best i have ever seen on teaching new to b grade level guys, anyone starting out should start there, explaina body and foot position in relation to hold/kill points so well and none of the technical labelling some other big name guys try to pass off
George is there to give it some credibility
And paid ???
Seems to me this leads to aiming the gun instead of pointing the gun. Also eliminates the advantage of peripheral vision. JMO😊
I mean, I love these videos... but I also love the profile pictures that come with the comments. You clearly have a bot following your site 😁
😂
Those girls don't appear to wear much tweed.
😆👍🏼
@@funkla65 😂👏🏻
Clearly hunt in a better climate
Is that a torch you mounted on the semi auto?
shot camera probably.
@@sherizaahd absolutely correct it's a ShotKam gen 4
@@davidbrown5367 can you then mount a torch/flashlight?
❤
Super video- wouldn't it be great to have George and Ed Solomons along for a day with you Jonny ( and Ant too !) ??!! Great info here. Thanks from Missouri, USA
I feel like a red dot will make you 'aim' where most of clay shooting is always said to be point and shoot.
I've tried a red dot just because i have it for other things and tried it on clay and just found it so distracting and interfering of my sight line etc.
👍
"maintained lead is get out in front and stop..." yup busted - and a shotkam is how I know that's what happens..
May be brilliant, but boy are they spendy! I can't imagine too many beginners could afford to drop between a 1/3rd and 1/2 their guns cost on a sight !
