So idk about everyone else but this seems like a very niche hunting round. That being said why wasn’t this a 375 caliber on a 300 RCM/6.5 PRC case in a long action? I get that this “can” fit in a AR-10 but who the hell is going to rip off a few mags filled with machined solids?
the sound barrier has a known speed limit. After that your only variable is projectile weight. Extra case capacity doesn't get you anything if you can't fill it most of the way to ensure consistent velocity. Also, the intent behind 8.6 was to be the big brother to 300 BLK which means fitting it into AR-10s and short action rifles. Maybe they'll add a king kong .375 down the line, but they also settled on 8.6 for some BC reasons if my memory serves me correctly.
@@chrisoffutt8968 I saw the video where he said 338 for AR-10 function but that’s my point. No one is plinking with this in a semi auto. If hunting was the objective bigger is better when it comes to subs especially
