    I bought a black '08 ESV three years ago with 93k miles fully loaded awd in excellent condition. It now has 115k and I have had the computer upgraded for the 6.2 motor it was stock with 403 hp and now it has an extra 50 or 60 hp , new shift points for the transmisiion , no governor, timing set up for 91 octane. I love my Escalade.. oh I paid $13k

      I have a 2010 but lifter gave up on me. But it has 221k.
      I live in San Francisco have soo many trips to Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Ángeles and Tijuana amazing highway cruiser. I’m going to drop 5k for the rebuild and some upgrades cam and new tuning. Afm and dod delete too.

      @@juliobello4561 --- If you like the truck then put a new motor in it.
      About two months ago I put new pads and rotors on all four corners. I bought AC Delco Super Duty set up for towing and extra weight. Parts cost around $500.00total. I had those installed by my mechanic because I didn't have time. Then a couple weeks later I felt the trans slip going into 2nd gear and 3rd gear so I checked the fluid and it smelled a little burnt and I know it needed service, almost 130k and never done since I bought it at 90k. On my wac to my mechanic shop I lost power leaving a red light like limp mode and I pulled into a gas station, got gas and waited about 5 minutes and it ran fine to the shop. The trans service was $400 gor total flush and filter, etc...and it lost power while mechanic was test driving it. It turned out to be the fuel pump. $800.00 just for the new pump and sending unit from Cadillac, I'm not putting aftermatket in because it is in the tank ajd the tank has to be dropped and drained to get the new unit swapped in place. So I ended up spending $700.00 for brake pads and rotors and labor, and $1800.00 for trans service and new fuel pump and sending unit and tank flush all within a couple weeks.
      But it's a great truck, I love driving it. I have four payments left and its paid off. Runs fantastic. Two weeks ago had a job in Lancaster, almost 2 hour drive with a 3k foot elevation change and temperature change from 66° down to 40° with some rain and it ran great doing 85 or 90 most of the way loaded with tools and material. I'm talking both back rows seats folded and loaded with tools, wire, 4-6-8 foot ladders, full electrical service truck.

      @juliobello4561 The '07, '08 and the '09 didn't had AFM so no lifter issues. Almost all owners use some kind of electronic gadget to get rid of it. Or delete it all together after a lifter failure.

    • @13_13k
      @13_13k 29 дней назад

      @@shelbyng8703--- you are correct. I specifically was shopping for an '08 for that reason. My '06 Dodge Magnum R/T Hemi has the 5.7 l that shuts down part of the valve train for "better fuel economy" and their system fails also like GMs.
      Another reason the '08 Escalade is one of the best years is the L92 all aluminum engine. It allows for easy upgrades for more power without having to do a lot of work on the motor.

    In need of a full size SUV. When shopping between the 2007-2014 Chevy Tahoe LTZ, GMC Yukon Denali or Cadillac Escalade is there really a difference in durability/performance??? Prices are starting to come down and shockingly I’ve noticed I can find an Escalade easier than I can a Tahoe or Yukon in better condition and less mileage. Kinda worried since most are over 100K mileage and not enough close by which means I have to travel out of state to buy…Suggestions??? Thanks!!!

    I just bought a pearl white 2013 Cadillac EXT with 141,700 miles or 228,000 km on it for $11,000 even Canadian or $8,169.68 U.S. One owner a 74 yr old man and it is absolutely perfect. I sold my Dodge Nitro for $4,000 Cnd or $2,970.69 U.S. so actually bought the truck for $5,198.99 U.S. or $7,000 Cnd. I think he gave me a really great deal. Problem is my Nitro was $780.00 Cnd a yr for insurance and the EXT is $2230.00 Cnd a yr. So will make up for it on insurance costs. I guess it's still on the high theft list.

      It's an absolutely atrocious idea. The hybrids suck to start with, it's got a weak 6.0. The battery packs are expensive, heavy and bound to be complete garbage. 300k on a gm means it's a lawn ornament. I have 2 of this style escalades, both with under 200k. Both on have severe quality issues. Pay no more than 3k, as it's realistically a parts truck
