Ya know Al my here’s a little fun fact…. About me and possibly why my boat is what it is…I grew with a dad who was obsessive compulsive neat freak and to be honest abusive. Everything had to be in its place and then some…. We clashed like most father/sons and then some so to be honest I think a big part of why it’s like that is because how I grew up and hated the way my dad had everything facing a certain direction etc…not making excuses because I’d actually prefer to be more organized and less clutter but that’s me at this point and I do actually appreciate the comment! I wish I had a great relationship with my dad but I feared him as a kid and to be honest was happy when my mom divorced him.
No one said being a dad was easy but I definitely made Dam sure I didn’t make those mistakes with my kids!
Spawning kings will eat a fluke on a long shank jig right at your feet from shore if you get it in front of them right. Lots of fun sightfishing the piers and rocks that way. Lot of time they’ll act disinterested but you have to keep it in front of them to piss them off and they will annihilate it out of nowhere. Tight lines 🎣
This trick works best if they’re following cranks and sticks and spoons but won’t commit.

Debating the piscifun reels, looking what size is best for 20-28 inch lake trout? I also go for stocked trout and want something somewhat universal for my second rod
I’d suggest the 2000 series it will be fine that’s what I use for similar fish. Good luck
