      It’s nobody’s business what someone keeps size wise. With that being said just shoving those fish down the hole after they’ve been on the ice for that long will 100% stress the fish out enough that their survival chances are very slim. This is not the correct way to practice catch and release or the correct way to teach younger generations of fisherman.

    Normally love your videos and passion for the outdoors but really disappointed in the fish handling in this one. 😔 Doesn’t matter how warm it is, there’s no reason to let fish lay in the ice and snow like that and then release them . If you’re going to release them, do it. If you’re going to keep them, that’s great! Just don’t pile them up to make a video or catch more and lower the chance of recovery for the fish. Nothing is worth that. The fish deserve better.

    Sobi,I have enjoy almost every video you’ve ever posted,but this was complete bullshit. Prime example of people(especially the RUclips warriors) care way to much about a picture for social media rather than just enjoying the experience. The amount of time I see RUclipsrs keep fish out of the water is unreal and who knows how long before a release behind the scenes before they cut the video to it swimming away. They might’ve not all died but the few that looked froze are likely gonna die soon after release. Such a waste especially that those are mainly females with good genetics. Should’ve kept what you needed/wanted for meat and if you want pics of the tanks keep ‘em alive in a bucket of ice cold water while you keep catching. You’ve been so good about setting examples of fish care/selective harvest to your audience but this was down right disgraceful.

People need to chill out goes to show 90% of your fan base are hypocrites, sobi. I think it's fine all was released on a shallow lake on a warm day no eyes are frozen no fins frozen. People complain about morals but yet brings buckets home. They are just mad they didn't get a good bite like you did sobi, don't need to apologize. I think Uncut angling is the reason guys think releasing crappies “spooks the school” when he put out that 16” crappie video that got a million views..If seeing their buddy get yanked out of sight doesn’t spook em why would releasing them… Do people think they go back and warn their buddies. Fish are dumb and very tough. I think the fish laying there for that long is a bad look but most likely swam away fine and will bite again. Just my opinion🤷‍♂️

      @@samsquanchoutdoors.6271Aaron’s new videos about crappie barotrauma are something to look into. Not saying they are perfect but do take note of how crappies swim. They don’t swim vertical they swim horizontal so sending a crappie back down doesn’t spook the school because they don’t rocket down the middle of it. They just swim off to the side and zig zag their way back down. They likely swim more horizontal the deeper they are caught from but I still think that principle stands even in shallow water

    • @samsquanchoutdoors.6271
      @samsquanchoutdoors.6271 10 месяцев назад

      @@Dr.EmmettBrown. So I tested the releasing fish spooking the school yesterday. I was fishing in shallow clear water and would have 2-3 blue gills swim in I would catch one and as my fishing partner was about to catch one on Livescope I’d release mine n sure enough it would spook the gil about to bite and it would dart off. Then we hit a deep 24ft hole,pretty clear lake, for crappies and were catching and releasing for an hour and had no effect on the school. So maybe in shallow water have a bucket ready I dunno

    • @Dr.EmmettBrown.
      @Dr.EmmettBrown. 10 месяцев назад

      @@samsquanchoutdoors.6271that’s good to know. And the thing is, it’s purely on the fishes mood. Some days they spook and others they don’t. Shallower water would make some sense for the potential to spook fish. If anything just have another hole drilled like 5 feet away and release it away from your school. I’m sure this whole topic is wildly over talked about and is probably so much simpler than we make it out to be. I think the over arching point of the whole thing, if you’re gonna harvest the fish, do so, and if you’re not, just release it. Fun that you made your own experiment out of it. Wow, not cool. Do you really think releasing them will spook the school or shut them down?

      I have yet to see this myth be proven. Fish don’t swim straight down they swim sideways. When you send a crappie down it doesn’t rocket down to the middle of the school. So way more often than not they do not spook the schools

    I'm not going to be too critical about the releasing process because it was such an amazing experience for me as a viewer. I'm sure the fish were fine?😢
    You worked hard and tag teamed the same hole 🕳 for an amazing time, 😆 🤣
