I aced your quiz Dr. Barbie! I remembered way back in your earlier videos on herbal management for estrogen you mentioned licorice root contains estrogen and helps prevent cancer and it made an impression on me.

Not me, Dr. T. Yes, all of that estrogen-is-the-devil had been imprinted on my brain, but on hearing the evidence, I realized the folly and have scoffed at such notions ever since. I didn't revert back to that way of thinking. I applaud you for teaching us all that you have. I'm not an MD, but I was able to apprehend the argument because you made it accessible. You have my sincere thanks.

You cannot know with certainty about any vitamin, mineral, or supplement. This is because the entire industry is entirely unregulated. And they do not conduct studies. So it's always an unknown.

Yikes I just turned 60 and I’ve been on HRT combi patch estrogen and progesterone for over 6 months now and my breast started growing and hurting so I went to have a mammogram to make sure I don’t have breast cancer thankfully I don’t now but I’m worried about getting it 😮 I tried weaning myself off the patch but omg my hot flashes are the worst 😢 I started menopause at age 50 so I’ve been going thru it for 10 years now 😮When is this ever going to end ? I don’t know what to do I don’t want to get breast cancer 😮

I can help you with all of this in a consultation, my dear.
This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.

My maternal grandmother had, I believe, a tumor in her 70's (back in the 90's) and had a mastectomy and radiation. I have dense breasts and had a biopsy but was negative for a growth, maybe a cyst. I'm 52 and will be 1 yr period-free in June. When I asked about HRT, MY doctor is proposing medicine to further DECREASE estrogen to lower my chance of breast cancer since I'm high-risk! Dr's are so all over the place with recommendations. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for this vitally important information dear dr. T. ❤️ And regarding to this matter would You pls share your thoughts about Pueraria mirifica ? I saw a lot about it on internet , but would love to hear from you . Thx in advance .

Pueraria Mirifica is a plant that grows in Thailand and Myanmar. In those countries, people use it to promote youthfulness and for rejuvenation. It has no specific benefit whatsoever for menopause, and its use for youthfulness and rejuvenation has never been proven. Mostly, it dates back to the 13th Century. Many herbal supplements make claims about Pueraria Mirifica that are not reliable or tested.

Once I started taking HRT, I began hearing women (whose doctor said they had breast cancer) and were told to stop taking HRT. Didn’t think about it affecting me as I was happy to not have the debilitating hot flashes.
I knit my sweaters, shawls, socks and more with wool and could not wear them because of the hot flashes.
I have learned (from attending Menopause University) that I was preventing three silent diseases as well.
Sadly, I did not remember about the licorice root…must be because I don’t do herbs except in cooking. Lol
Looking forward to the big 5-0 video in the unit on breast cancer. 💕

Hi Dr. Barbie, I’m new at all this HRT stuff. My provider just started me on HRT but I haven’t started it yet. Last week I went for my mammogram and was talking with the technician and she told me that she had breast cancer and upon my questions…does it run in your family? Her: No. Me: Did they say how you got it? Her: I was told it was tested and was caused by estrogen. My sister said she wouldn’t go on HRT b/c she has heard too many women getting breast cancer from it like her neighbor. Like I said I’m still learning about menopause but when I hear first hand stories like this and then starting HRT I’m not going to lie it scares me and I second guess myself in taking it. I want to take it not only for the menopausal symptoms but b/c heart disease, osteoporosis and dementia run in my family. Thanks for all you do & your content.

If you get this education (and especially if you have a consultation with me), you will not have to react to anything. You'll know the whole story and the whole truth. And you'll be empowered to make decisions for yourself.
