  • Have you ever thought about how breast cancer compares to prostate cancer? I know it sounds like an odd comparison. But it’s one that is very interesting, and quite infuriating. In this video, I’ll walk you through all the factors of comparison between the two, and you can draw your own conclusion about the similarities and differences between them.

    There are a lot of people on social media lately talking about menopause as experts but to me you are the original OG, you are still my favorite and although I never pass up the opportunity to be menopause informed I have found you to be the most clear and thorough.

      Thank you so much for this. I'm an educator, not a marketer. Most of what you'll find is marketing, but that just confuses you because each marketer is telling you only part of the story or lying to get you to buy their product.
      You deserve the whole truth and the whole story. And all the decisions should be yours. You can count on me for that.

    This makes me so angry. I've watched my mom go through "treatment " for breast cancer for 8 years now. She's still on aromatase inhibitors. But now she's had bladder cancer too. I'll certainly deal with any breast cancer that may be discovered in me far differently from what my mom did and accepted. I hate seeing her struggle on and on - the aftereffects of everything done and taken are serious. I'm grateful that this knowledge will make my choices and life easier, but I'm angry for my beloved mother.
    A lot of the fear of breast cancer is because of the brutal "treatments".

      I love knowing that this education will help you tremendously. And I hate knowing that the reason you know I'm telling you the truth is because your mom has suffered so horribly.

    Great comparison and chart!
    I would like to see all donations, for breast cancer, stop.
    I doubt the doctors work on treatments will not end for either breast cancer or prostate cancer.
    Looking forward to the guest, in your next video. 💕

      If only the dollars went toward a focus on cause rather than treatment, women would be much better off. But focusing on cause does not make money. Focusing on treatment does.

    Thank you for this video. The scaremongering is terrible for women in relation to their breasts and what can go wrong, and HRT. I have to have a 3D mammogram and ultrasound every year in order for my GP to grant me a script for HRT (patches). The recent ultrasound discovered a suspicious lump in both breasts and I’ve been pressured to do a biopsy (which I refused) and an MRI with contrast (I agreed to the MRI without contrast but not with the contrast as I believe there is evidence mounting the contrast can stay in our brains and bones). I’ve decided to wait and see…I’ll have another ultrasound in October and go from there. Meanwhile my GP won’t give me another HRT script and both the GP and breast specialist are implying there could be something sinister going on in one or both breasts and I am allowing this to hang over my head. They are concerned because of the shape and colour of the ultrasound images and that they are 1cm from the nipple duct. The fear it causes is terrible but I am determined to do my visualization to have these lumps disappear. I won’t let my life be ruled by fear. I’m also cutting my patches in half and still using them twice a week to get more out of my HRT stock as it will run out soon. Both the GP and breast specialist want me to stop using HRT immediately as they say it could feed the lumps if they are estrogen or progesterone dependent. Anyway thanks so much for this video. It has helped me feel even more confident with my current decision to watch and wait.

    Brilliant analysis. I have only one question: WHY?

  • @evayeorgiou8976
    @evayeorgiou8976 Месяц назад +2

    I am thinking, maybe there is so much fear about breast cancer mainly because of the treatment!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  Месяц назад +1

      Well, most women never even know they have breast cancer until it's diagnosed. So the fear doesn't emanate from the disease itself.
      The treatment, however, causes all sorts of misery ...during and thereafter.

    Greetings Dr. Barbie, enlightening lecture again today!
    One fact we do know is more research in men's health than women's health. There are more $$$$$$ soent on men's research, but much less on women. How much on prostate cancer, i dunno....
    Men get Nomember, aka Movember for prostate cancer. No runs, fundraising, runs for the cure for prostate cancer either

    Curious - What about differences in methods of detection for breast cancer vs. prostate cancer?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  Месяц назад +2

      Detection of prostate cancer is by feeling the prostate and taking biopsies. There are radiologic ways of detecting it, but they are not used routinely.
      For breast cancer, there are 8 different screening tests.

    Also, prostate cancer is said to be caused by excessive drinking, but never have heard of breast cancer being associated with alcohol ? Thank you Dr🫶🏽

    • @cm1906
      @cm1906 Месяц назад +1

      Alcohol consumption is indeed a risk factor for breast cancer. Check out video # 377.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  Месяц назад +4

      Alcohol greatly increases your risk of breast cancer. It's on the list of risk factor for breast cancer. But most women don't want to acknowledge it as a huge risk factor or give up their alcohol. This is especially true because menopause causes cravings for alcohol.
