  • How will you know when menopause comes a knockin'? Would you believe that there are 22 signs and symptoms of menopause? Do you know what they are? Would you recognize them as menopause if they happened to you? Most women are woefully unprepared for menopause and mistake their symptoms of menopause for a medical problem. You might be experiencing one right now that you’ve mistaken for something else. This video might be just what you need.

      Menopause is THE most neglected topic on earth. Women are in denial about it, and nobody talks about it. That's what I'm trying to change.
      There has never been anything like the education I'm providing, so women don't even know they need it. And they are not very diligent about making time for it. I am the only person on planet Earth providing an education that is understandable for lay persons. And I love every minute of it.
      But, it will take time for this to catch on and become popular. (It's not like all the cosmetic channels that have millions of viewers.)
      Thank you so much for recognizing the value of my work. My dream is to improve the futures of women forever.

      Watch them in order, and I guarantee you'll understand everything. It sounds to me like you're peri-menopausal and your hormones are out of whack. And that's exactly what's typical for peri-menopause. If you're not opposed to taking some form of hormonal therapy, the birth control pill, patch, or vaginal ring will straighten things out more immediately than anything else.
      If you do nothing, you'll probably continue to have irregular bleeding for months before your periods start to space out.

    I read that these might also be symptoms: dry eyes, itchy skin, heart palpitations, racing thoughts, cold feet. I didn't know it was happening because I've had insomnia most of my life. I just thought it was stress. But lately the insomnia has gotten much worse even though my life is good and I've developed many of the symptoms you listed plus the ones I mentioned. I was so confused. I already eat a whole food vegan diet, do yoga and walk everyday, etc, but it wasn't enough to compensate for the loss of estrogen. So glad I found you! Thanks to you I just started eating a lot more soy and using estrogen & progesterone creams. I'm hopeful I can start sleeping well.

I started pharmaceutical bhrt despite the fact that my mum died of BC age 50 and when I was just 12. It's already helping me live life again. I don't think I can go without it now even though I found out recently that my mum had a hysterectomy also which I didn't know about as I wasn't told because I was so young when it all happened and since no one had mentioned it I only just found out. Not sure if it was linked to her BC, but It was at the same time as her single mastectomy. What a life!!!! x

    Fantastic videos thank you! I get all those symptoms plus more...how about heart palpatations and indigestion? Is this common?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 лет назад +1

      Laura,
      Heart palpitations are very common, usually in association with hot flashes.
      Indigestion is worrisome. Why? Because you need to have it evaluated. Here's why:
      the biggest riskier menopausal women is heart attack. 1 out of ever 2 women dies from a heart attack. That's a statistic most women don't know. The other big important thing for all women to know is that the symptoms of heart attack are completely different for men and women.
      Men have a crushing chest pain with radiation to their left arm.
      Women don't.
      Women have jaw pain, neck pain, bask pain between the shoulder blades, or INDIGESTION. Some women have no pain. Most women do not even use the word "pain" to describe what they feel when they[re having a heart attack. They use the words, "pressure," "tightening,"ache."
      So that's why I want you to get your indigestion checked. Unfortunately, most women would be more worried about the palpitations and less worried about the indigestion. It's the opposite. Please see your doctor NOW.

      I'm so glad you're her, Valencia. Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know.
      Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know.
      I respond to all comments here on RUclips daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!)
      And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time.

    I'm 49 right now heading to 50 by August a year from now when I researching about menopause even though I don't have it any symptoms yet I was just trying to get ahead and knowing about it and be prepared. But I can't find anyone that make sense to me. Until one day I Google vitamin for heading to menopause so I don't feel it or may say didn't happen and that's the only time your video came out and the way you explain to each vitamins the function cause or effects it attacks me so I went to all your videos from the beginning and take notes. I love it easy to understand I order your book I print the material. I have a sizeable group of Filipino community here in Scottsdale two months from now I'm going to held a menopause party at my place. We just renovated the place we live up by the mountain internet is bad so I ordered large TV and satellite wifi by help of your video I can play the RUclips on it. I keep having an AHA moment after another watching your videoes. The mood swings set in...It is a bit emotional to get to know myself all over again. This autumn will be different for sure👏🏻. The last year I have been having trouble to get to the toilet in time when I have to pee, and it seems like I have to pee all the time. Can this be related to my post menopause? I do drink a lot of tea, but I have never had this problem before. I am talking about your channel to a lot of women in my life, and they are just as excited as me. Soon there will be a "Menopause Barbie" fanclub here in Norway 😊. The fans of Justin Bieber call themselves the beliebers. What should we be named? Thank you 💛.

      Isn't it a relief to know that what you've been experiencing is understandable?
      And speaking of relief, your question about having trouble getting to the toilet in time is absolutely a part of menopause. It falls into the category of "Urinary incontinence" in the list of symptoms of menopause. I'll be giving you a few tutorials on that (much later on). In the book, it's chapter 23. Your tea drinking is not the problem all by itself. It has to do with a variety of things.
      Thank you so much for spreading the word about Menopause Barbie. I think we should all call ourselves "Menopause Barbies!"

    Hi Dr Barbie! My main symptom is nausea...24/7. It was the same when I was pregnant. At first I didn’t realise it was perimenopause, but after a year and a half of terrible suffering, I came upon a forum on the internet where it was being discussed. I was so relieved as my GP had finally convinced me I was nauseous from stress and depression! I found myself a good Naturapath and he prescribed me some bio identical progesterone cream and the nausea is mainly a thing of the past. The other symptom, which was actually the first of my symptoms to begin (age 37), is waking up suddenly with extreme, intense nausea of the food poisoning variety, a racing heart and feeling warm. This would last up to an hour and then subside. These episodes started once or twice a month and became more frequent until I was sometimes having two a night. These also stopped now that I’m using the progesterone. Please could you give me your take on this? I would really appreciate it xxx

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 лет назад +1

      Peri-menopause is due to low progesterone. That's why progesterone is helping you ... now.
      Peri-menopause is the transition (video 10).
      Once you move into post-menopause, you'll have low estrogen, and the progesterone will make your symptoms worse. At post-menopause, you need estrogen replacement. You'll need to still take progesterone with the estrogen if you have your uterus. But if you take progesterone all by itself, you'll continue to have all the symptoms (21 of the 22 in the list) that are due to estrogen deficiency.

    • @alexboorman5775
      @alexboorman5775 6 лет назад

      Menopause Taylor thanks so much for your reply. I understand why low progesterone causes the morning sickness type nausea but why does it cause those extreme nighttime episodes? They seem completely different and they started about 3 or 4 years before the other nausea!I'm going to continue watching all your videos in order and I'll ask any more questions if I need to. It is super to have such a comprehensive source of information on menopause, you're doing an amazing job. Thanks again.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 лет назад

      It's because no hormone works in a vacuum. You possibly started having some hormonal fluctuations that caused the nausea first, and the warm episodes as a consequence of the nausea.
      Alternatively, you could actually have a "bug" that causes the nausea. I hope you ruled out infectious diseases and parasites before attributing this pattern of nausea at night to peri-menopause. It's not a common complaint during peri-menopause.

    • @alexboorman5775
      @alexboorman5775 6 лет назад

      Menopause Taylor thank you. Yes, I ruled out infectious diseases and parasites and even had an abdominal ultrasound. It's definitely hormonal as it has stopped since using the progesterone cream.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 лет назад +1

      I'm glad you pinpointed the problem. The rapidly-rising progesterone levels in early pregnancy are what cause nausea and vomiting then. So, maybe it has the same effect on you now.

    Dr. Taylor,
    I hate to bother you again, but I had a question on the "periods with a personality change". I am 45 and my periods the last year have been changing and instead of becoming further apart they are increasing in length. They are lasting 10-14 days and seem to be two weeks on, two weeks off. A day or two days of heavy flow and the rest of the time it is just light spotting. Is this a part of peri-menopause or could it be something I need to check into with my ob-gyn? I wasn't dealing with this when I saw her earlier this year.
    Thank you so much for your very informative and fun tutorials, such a blessing.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 лет назад

      Your questions are never a bother. And your question is a very good one. In general, we expect your periods to be lighter OR heavier, shorter OR longer, as well as skipping some periods. But, as with everything, there are limits to what is "normal." If your periods are longer than 7 days, or more than 2 days longer than your normal periods, you should have them evaluated. It will give you peace of mind to do so. I think you should see your ob/gyn again just for this.
      Eventually, I'll be giving you some dedicated tutorials on just periods, but they won't air for a while. In the meantime, you'll have this evaluation behind you and won't have to worry.

    This is so informative thank you! I am 45 and experiencing a few symptoms of Perimenopause (irritability, forgetfulness, very occasional hot flashes, some hair loss) . I also have ADHD and have heard Menopause and peri menopause can cause ADHD symptoms to flare up! I am looking to manage my ADHD with meds and also considering starting HRT. My Doctor is suggesting a Mirena IUD and an estrogen patch. I just worry if I'm too young to start? Maybe I should wait a few years until my symptoms get worse?

      Anxiety is a symptom of estrogen deficiency.
