    Ladies,
    I try to respond to each and every comment. I don't pick and choose, and I don't ignore anyone. But, sometimes, I get a message that says, "Comment failed to post." I tray again day after day, but continue to get the same failure to post message.
    Mrs Brown, you're one of the ones I can't respond to for this reason. So, I'm responding here:
    Test your FSH now. If you're peri-menopausal, it will be high.
    Then, if you have a period, start counting on the day you start bleeding, and re-check it on day 23. That way, you'll know you're on a rollercoaster, and you'll see it at it's high and at it's low.
    Josie "Josie02" Mc, I've had the same problem responding to you. Here's your answer:
    Try going to my website: MenopauseBarbie.ME
    (Note that it's .ME and not .com.)
    Scroll to just below my photo. You'll see four boxes. The second one is Menopause Barbie Worksheet. You'll find it there and you can print it out. I'll have my management team check the video ink.
    I hope you get these, and sorry for the delay. I don't understand some of these technological issues.

      Just had an ahah moment! Now I know why my doctor would not do blood test to check my hormone levels. I'm still on the pill and my FSL would fluctuate. Checked my FSL 2 years ago and it was above 30. I'm not willing to go off the pill, in fear of getting pregnant at 55, to get an accurate FSL reading. However, still feeling good in Ohio. Peace and love ❤️

    I’m learning so much. I went from one antidepressant to another and going to doctors think I had dreadful illnesses for years! I had menopause. I knew I was going through menopause but I didn’t know all my symptoms were for menopause and yet all this time my bones were getting thinner and thinner. In a year and a half I broke my back and then broke my hip both in falls. And I exercise which probably help in my recovery - terrifying. I literally for years and years thought life was over for me. Now I’m post menopausal. Gosh I suffered over the years. Thank you for taking the time to post these videos and caring for us. I have a feeling of power surges studying your videos and I talk to my sister and I have actual true knowledge thank you again. Geeze I actually thought of suicide but I didn’t because I didn’t want to hurt my family or be that kind of role model for my kids and the grands.

    Thank you Dr. Taylor for these videos. I am a 57 year old woman definitely caught in that sandwich stage of my life - taking care of elderly parents and launching kids. I stumbled into menopause at the age of 52 and have struggled with many of the side effects you mention here. At the age of 28 I had a stroke that initially left me with hemiplegia. Eventually,I recovered almost fully, but was left with some residual paralysis and weakness in left arm and hand. . To this day they cannot tell me what caused my CVA. I went on and had two normal full term pregnancies, giving birth to my kids. Because of my history my doctors would not prescribe to me HRT. And still will not. Boo! It has been very difficult. I aim learning so much from your videos and hoping I will find the tools to help me thru this next stage of my life. I am truly looking forward to these later years of growth. A little scared of course. You are an inspiration. Oh and btw, I love your unique style and you look particularly lovely in the colors you are wearing in this video. Many blessings and thanks again.

Sweat beads dripping off the tip of my nose, my face red & shiny. He said, "that's gotta suck!" Lol. I am looking into some plant biologists and apple cider vinegar to get some relief...we'll see what works for me (we're all different). For me, I started having lighter and lighter periods -- further apart too. I'm hoping December will come & go without another cycle. Gets get this over with 👍🏼

There will be as many alternative and complementary options as there are traditional medical ones.
      I love your brother's comment. At least he made a comment rather than ignoring your hot flash. And he understands that it's not pleasant. Be sure to tell him when you find something that works for your hot flashes. By the way, hot flashes will be tutorials 47, 48, and 49. If you want to see your options before then, get my book. I've watched in order. Trying to figure out where you're at in regards to menopause is basically impossible if you had a total hysterectomy (cervix & uterus, still have the ovaries & tubes) in your late thirties and are now in your late 40's (49 today and my present to myself is apparently menopause tutorials). Everything is based on menstrual cycles in the information you're giving. No mention is even made about those women who don't have that as a guide, but still have their ovaries and are trying to determine if they're still functional or not. Even when you're talking about the hormone level testing you reference the importance of where you're at in your cycle. OMG, this is so frustrating for those of us (and there are a A LOT) who DON'T HAVE PERIODS BUT STILL HAVE OVARIES!!! I have been to see my doctor and SHE told me when I asked about a test of my hormone levels that there wasn't one. I found that incredibly hard to believe (now I know that I can request a blood test for FSH levels.....thank you), so I've been reading and researching about menopause for months. There is basically no information for women like me. Maybe I haven't gotten far enough into these tutorials yet, but what I've seen so far doesn't give me a lot of hope. How can there be no information for a huge segment of the population who are wandering around with ovaries and no uteri? How are we supposed to determine where we're at in the menopausal process? If this is covered in a tutorial, could someone please direct me to it?

      Shannon,
      Video 11 was about the 22 symptoms of menopause. Absent periods is only one of them.
      I can help you with anything in a consultation if you'd like to schedule one. All you have to do is go to MenopauseTaylor.ME.
      But, why do you think things are different for women without a uterus. The only thing that's different is that you don't have your periods as one of the warning signs.
      I can help you so much and make it all sooooo easy in a consultation. And I can tailor everything specifically TO YOU.
      Here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
      The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
      So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).

      I have a friend who felt the same way you do. She was a yoga instructor with a law degree. And she was 36. I made her apply to medical school (after she'd been rejected twice). She just couldn't stop thinking about it. Now, she's finishing her residency in Internal Medicine, and she absolutely loves it. She says she found what she was looking for in life. And in the process, she found herself.

    Hi Barbie, what if you feeling depressed, do you need to be on an antidepressant?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  8 лет назад

      Not necessarily. Your depression could be due to low estrogen levels.
      If depression is only one of many other symptoms of menopause, it's probably due to inadequate estrogen.
      If depression is your only symptom, it's more likely true depression that requires an antidepressant or psychotherapy.

  • @glynisr8016

    Hi Barbie, I got my blood tests back and yes I'm in post menopausal but it also talks about hypothalamic pituitary dysfunction. This is getting so complicated. Please helps. Thanks Glynis

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  8 лет назад

      It is complicated, Phyllis. You see, that feedback loop between FSH and estrogen is a bit more complicated than I explained in the video. I simplified it because it's all you need to know to understand menopause. But if you weren't menopausal and had those same lab values at a young age, it might mean something different. In other words, if you were only 25 and you had a high FSH, you would have a condition called "Hypothalamic Pituitary Dysfunction." Lab reports sometimes list all the possible diagnoses for the lab results. Sometimes, they ignore the actual patient or her particular circumstances. In your case, it's menopause, not Hypothalamic Pituitary Dysfunction.

    I just found your channel and I have been struggling for the last two years with symptoms you discussed in the previous video. Some I didn’t even realize were associated with menopause until I saw your video. My problem was that I had a total hysterectomy (now I know the correct definition) a few years ago and I didn’t have a period, just the symptoms. I went to the doctor and I kept asking is this what I’m going through. How do I know? I feel like I’m going crazy. I was just about to turn 47 at the time so I kept running into the whole “the average age of menopause is 51” line and that I was probably too young. My doc, who was a general practitioner, did run a lab and was like maybe you are, here take these anti anxiety meds and my weight just ballooned up. I got off those and finally got to gynecologist this year and just two weeks ago he pulled up the results of that lab that was run two years ago and my FSH was 43!!!! He said he wanted it to be over 40 but hearing you say it should be over 30, well, I’m just so angry. I’ve suffered horribly for the last two years. And like you mention in your video, my gut was telling me that this was menopause but everyone kept telling me I was too young. I’m 48 now and he finally started me on HRT. I found your channel and I’m going to educate myself so I can stop suffering. Thank you for doing this!! I wish I would’ve found you sooner!!

      Since you no longer have your uterus to tell you when your periods are at an end, you'll go by all the other symptoms of menopause to determine when you're peri-menopausal. And since you're not going to have disappearance of your periods for 12 months to tell you you're post-menopausal, you're just going to guess. It's fine to start taking something to manage your menopause when you have symptoms of menopause. And the good news is that, since you don't have your uterus, you'll be able to take just estrogen alone without combining it with progesterone if you wish.
      One thing I want to point out. You wrote "TSH." That stands for Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. The hormone that rises in menopause is FSH, which stands for Follicle Stimulating Hormone. You can get your FSH drawn if you want to, but you certainly don't have to. Remember, menopause is a normal, natural event. It's going to happen, no matter what. So you don't have to prove that it's occurring.

      I hope to meet you soon!

    Dear Barbie, just watched you & Angie H/F I’m getting confused,I have a L/ D,since childhood & my comprehension is not that great.( something to do with the upper right lobe).When you spoke of the dryness,it worried me as I use k y jelly ,its been a couple of years now & no sex (my husband is sick, so not missing it).I had cancer of the uterus in1982,& still have my uterus & I had broken heart syndrome in 2015,& always worried about having another serg. My grandmother passed with dementia,& now my mother has it. I wondering where I stand, as far as having & needing treatments, I’m trying to keep up my physical health, don’t take any perception medications. And yes I’m taking care of my elderly parents ( they live in an independent living facility) & also my husband who had a stroke & is now an epileptic ,with STM memory loss, we also live in a new city now so I don’t really have a new Dr yet. AHHHHHHHHH a past history of working in LTC has helped me a lot with there conditions. Can’t thank you enough for everything! I look forward to watching you in the evening.All the best Michelle 🌼🌺🌸🇬🇧🇨🇦M

      Michelle,
      Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know.
      Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know.
      I respond to all comments here on RUclips daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!)
      And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time.

    Hi
    I recently had the FSH Menopause test to get total clarification that my symptoms were menopause, my result level was 100, I'm 55 can I start taking my estrogen prescription or is it too late?
    My GP are very unhelpful.

    Ok, I'm 48, have an under active thyroid, was diagnosed with perimenopaus at 39. Recently I have been experiencing what I am wondering if its moving into the beginning of the end. Periods that are more like spotting. Then this weekend my period is more like usual. And have had several hot flashes today. Also night sweats! I know it is what is supposed to happen but can I say that it is actually starting?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 лет назад +1

      You've probably nailed it. What's happening with your hormones is this:
      While you were having odd periods, your progesterone was low, but your estrogen was still high.
      Now, you're starting to experience symptoms of low estrogen (hot flashes & night sweats). You're now moving from peri-menopause into post-menopause.
      During peri-menopause, progesterone can be the "fix."
      Once you're post-menopausal, estrogen is the "fix."

    Hi menopause barbie First I wanna say thank u for your videos you are heaven sent! I've watch many of them to be well informed before I talked to my gyno. The funny thing is she told me I wasn't in menopause because Im 46 yrs old I still have my regular periods well that very well maybe but I have many symptoms of menopause. I had my thyroid ck just to rule that out & its fine. When I told my gyno my symptoms she said it sounded like stress. 😔 & if I take hormones before I need them it could cause irregular bleeding. I love your videos & how you say WE know our bodies better then anybody DONOT settle for less! I know that I am in peri menopause & why is it we are commonly told your not old enough to worry about your hormones? Smh

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  8 лет назад +3

      Judy,
      The only opinion that really matters is your own. Please be sure to watch videos 22, 23, 32, 33, and 37 when they air. But in the meantime, you should know that it's fine to take either.
      "Bioidentical" means the hormones are identical to the molecules in your body. Some people believe that bioidentical hormones work better and have fewer side effects. But that's not true for all women.
      Here's the other thing (and your doctor may not even realize this): Many of the synthetic, pharmaceutical products are actually bioidentical! You see, one of the estrogens produced by your body is called "estradiol." And many of the creams, patches, vaginal rings, and gels for menopause consist of estradiol. By definition, they're bioidentical even though they're synthetic pharmaceutical products.
      I'll be teaching you so many things like this that you'll be amazed. It will help you get around a bunch of the issues that women face with their doctors.

      Theresa,
      Women who have no symptoms are not necessarily "lucky." Because you feel fine, you nevr learn about all the health risks associated with menopause. Please consider scheduling a consultation with me. I'll make sure you get the education you deserve.
      I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:

    Hi Barbie!!! I , ve been watching your videos since I discovered you...when looking for information about menopause as I am.a little confused.
    I am 47....only 47!!!!....never smoked a cigarrette in my entire life....first period at the age of 14....first children before being 30....no illnesses....practising moderate exercise. My mom's and aunt's menopause at 50....and me.....me!!!....no.periods for 10 months....and fsh 52!!!!!.....can't believe it....I am a teetotaller too....I feel it's not fair....and when I watch videos and reviews everybody says....«51»....for God sake I am 47....and my last period at 46....
    Aparr from the horrible feeling of getting old before it was due....I feel great....serene....peace of mind....only a few problems when trying to sleep at night....the rest....as I said....great!!!
    What should I do????
    is it common to enter menopsuse at 47 being no smoker....healrhy diet....etc????

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 лет назад +1

      The AVERAGE age of menopause is 51. But the average age of puberty is about 12, and yet we see 9 year olds beginning puberty. You can't predict when you'll enter puberty or menopause. And you shouldn't chastise yourself or feel like it's unfair. It is what it is. There are many women who become menopausal long before age 47. (I was 34!)
      So, you should do whatever you want to do to manage your menopause your way. And I'm here to help you. If you get my book and watch these videos in order, you'll know absolutely everything you need to know. I recommend my book because I have over 250 videos planned for you, and that's going to take a long time. But you'll need this information sooner and more quickly than that. And I'll be planning to give some seminars, too. So learn everything you can and know that you're doing what's best for you based on fact rather than on misconceptions.

    Dear Dr. Your video's and outline notes explain everything so clearly. And I'm from South Africa and found your article on your website very amusing about classification of black people here. I'm 43 and went off my birth control (Dianne 35) which I've used for a couple of years after experiencing adult acne. On Dianne I suffered with severe migraines. My period was very irregular after stopping use of Dianne 35, and one day I started getting hot flushes and night sweats. Tried herbal remedies which didn't work and went to see my GP. She tested FSH which was very high (90). So from your video's I gather that I'm perimenopausal. I'm not even sure how long as the Dianne might have been masking the symptoms. She put me on Estalis 50/140 patches which contains Estradiol and progestin. It worked like a charm for the night sweats and hot flushes, even the migraines disappeared, but I'm having my second period now on it which is now carrying on for 17 days?! I'm sure on your notes it said if you are peri menopausal you shouldn't be using continuous estrogen plus progesterone HRT? Is this correct? Should I be worried about the long period as it does mention on the pamphlet some irregular bleeding may occur and it can take a couple of months before there will be no bleeding at all? I also wanted to ask about testosterone. Can it be used to increase lack of libido together with HRT? Kind regards, Sanet

    Thank you. Thank you. I am going these videos one by one and for the last couple years my doctor would not believe me that I was having all these symptoms. She said I was too young 44 at the time and now 46. She finally allowed for the tests and sure enough I am in menopause. It was hard to tell because I had an IUD to prevent any more kids. So I really was not getting periods and my dr. Taught I was exaggerating the rest. Anyways I still have an iud and need to figure out my next step. So hard as I have no one my age going through it and don’t have a mom, grandma or aunt to help me. Well now I have you and maybe by the end will know what road to take. When you’re in Menopause and on an HRT tablet how do you test if that is the right tablet for you? I suspect that HRT products are made for the masses and might not be exactly what a specific body needs. My Gynae did not do a blood test to determine exactly what my body needed before putting me on a HRT tablet. My country has a few compounding pharmacies and I wonder if it isn’t better to find an individualised product that is exactly suited to my body?

    I was going thru menopause for 2 yrs. I had 8 symptoms and went from always knowing when I was ovulating to being convinced I wasn't. At 48 I delivered a very unexpected healthy baby girl. Pregnancy and delivery was uneventful. I know longer have any symptoms except headaches which could be anything. I obviously know now you can get pregnant until periods stop for a year. Mine had only stopped for several months at a time. I am now 50 shouldnt it be starting up again where it left off?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 лет назад +1

      It won't necessarily pick up where it left off. Anything can happen. You could have periods for a while or you could become menopausal right away. Only Mother Nature knows for sure.
      Just keep track of your periods and see when they start to space out and disappear. And look out for the symptoms of menopause.
      Congratulations on your healthy little girl!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  8 лет назад +1

      Ria,
      It's fine if your periods are 21 days apart. If they get any more frequent than that, get an evaluation. It could be something other than menopause.
      It's very possible that you're peri-menopausal with periods 21 days apart. Do you have any of the other symptoms of peri-menopause?
      You can certainly take something (hormones) to regulate your periods and alleviate your symptoms of menopause if you wish. Whether you prefer herbal, botanical, bioidentical, or synthetic hormones, you can take some form of estrogen and progesterone to smooth things out.

      Elizabeth,
      Every woman is different. But estrogen deficiency at menopause is no different than any other hormone deficiency. Neither the symptoms (nor the diseases that result from the hormone deficiency) just "go away."
      Please consider scheduling a consultation with me. I will school you on everything you need to know so that you are well equipped with all the information you need to make the rest of your life the best of your life.
      Here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. (But very shortly, I’ll have my own video platform embedded in my website.)

You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation.
In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to.
      I hope to meet you soon!

      And you don't have to prove anything to yourself or anybody with a lab test, anyway.

    I have been in menopause for 2 years and starting bleeding out of nowhere. My dr said my uterine lining is a 7 and put me on birth control as an experiment to see if I was truly in menopause. Still no bleeding but they want me to stay on it. Should I keep taking it? I’m confused

      I'm so proud of your daughter! And, of course, I'm very proud of you for sharing these videos with her. She'll learn things that will help her now and for the rest of her life. Good bonding, mom!
