@@-HYO- ask the church of vows turtle about radagon, he talks about the statue. Then you have to do the regression incantation near the message on the floor, if you do it too close to the statue it won't work.

Azur's Comet both times I fought him because if you get a little bit of distance he walks pretty slow in a straight line, and one shot him both times without taking any damage whatsoever. I didn't even optimize my mage for the cast, with gear to make it much, much stronger. I feel kinda bad, like I gipped myself out of the fight, but I'm a 137 meta level caster with 80 intelligence. It just seemed to make sense with my build. I dunno what other peoples experience has been like, but as a mage, and following this excellent guide, this game has been a breeze. I can't remember the last time I died in PvE. Thanks for this cowboy.
Yes, he wasn't too bad on my first playthrough I lucked out and beat him the first time as well. I was right around lv 128 in this fight with mimic ash spirit. I was just happy to be out of Leyndell finally! Such a huge legacy dungeon took a minute to complete. Keep crushing it!
Also little known tip. In addition to having Melina as a summoned NPC, you can additionally summon Dung Eater NPC if you played his side quest. That quest can be started in the Roundtable Hold once he appears in one of the backrooms.
That first duelist was worse than any enemy in this episode. Just hits like an absolute truck, can't stagger him even with a Colossal sword and he attacks pretty fast as well.
The reason why Morgott never calls Mogh a traitor is because, they were both casted aside by the family for being Omens. While, Morgott got degraded down to a mere attendant, Mogh (because of his full set of Omen horns) got thrown down into the sewers. The family did them both dirty, so Morgott is more sympathetic to Mogh (Notice how there isn't even a seat for Morgott, despite him being the only one still protecting the throne)
@Chris Ward I don't know why Morgott would despise Mohg, though. They were born thrown aside by the family, just for being Omens. But, maybe Mohg relinquished his family title, so that's the reason why Morgott doesn't mention him?
"You didn't think he was memorable? The second time, no." I'm working on this fight for the first time, on a level 25 character and solo, and it's definitely memorable! BTW, your walkthroughs are great. I used them for Ringed City years ago. Thanks!
For anyone who sees this, after casting the Law of Regression incantation in front of the statue, a new message from the game appears on the floor a few steps beyond the point you casted it. That message clarifies and confirms the implied meaning of the statute changing.
@@smokesession469 Weirdly enough, it's one, if not the only, incantation in the game that exclusively requires int, but you still need a seal to cast it instead of a staff. If you're trying to cast it with a seal, check if you meet the requirements to use the seal. Most of them have a somewhat high faith requirement.
Perhaps the reason cowboy finds all these boss fights so easy is because he is using summons...I found it more satisfying not using summons and relying on my dodge rolling and ash of war Storm Blade. Either way, cowboy does some of the best walkthroughs and allows players to Get Good on the boss fights! Thank you cowboy!
58 vids in series and my first comment: I get the NEED to put weapons in chest, speeds up swaps during combat w/o sacrificing load. But the other junk? I kinda like seeing how much Cowboy's series has helped me find!
Cowboy called it with the Guardian Swordspear. This thing is fucking great. Those quick sweeping R1s. Love it. Plus you can scale it to your strong suit.
After this boss fight you can go back to Stormveil/Godrick the Grafteds grace and proceed Nepheli's and Kenneths quest, getting an Ancient Dragon Smithing stone. If Gostoc is still alive you can buy another one off of him for 20k.
I love it when Cowboy tells us “this guy should be easy, you can just shred through them”, and then I die like 5 times trying to beat the guy lol. Jk this walkthrough is a lifesaver, Cowboy, thank you!
Dual wielding is the way to go. I’ve been using the bloodhound with the dismounter in my left hand for most of this playthrough and it’s been shredding everything.
My arcane char (and me) is cackling with glee when seeing the bloodhound and Morgott's being dual-wielded. Been using Marais' Executioner Greatsword then the Bloody Helice. Time for new toys!
it’s cool coming back to this after time has passed, because you call some stuff spot on. like the dueling arenas for coliseums or the hammer you can throw that i think came with the DLC. I haven’t gotten the hammers so i can’t say for sure yet but I have heard about them
Not directly elden related. But thank you so much for helping me through the souls games. Just finished sekiro. Not my cup of tea but I did it with your guidance. Thanks man. 💯
I dont know if Morgotts Cursed Sword is really worth it. From the options we would have access to by now (both following are drops and need to be farmend however) probably the Dismounter or the Omen Cleaver are better picks. Since the Cursed Sword even at +10 scales only with D (strength) and B (dex). It also scales D with arcane but for that to have any impact arcane has to be higher than the 17 which the weapon requires. Both aforementioned weapons also can be infused and the ash of war can be changed so they probably offer more utillity overall. Only downside is that they are reinforced by regular smithing stones and Fromsoftware did a piss poor job in giving the player reasonable amounts of those before you get the bell bearings to buy them.
Have to agree with you - my biggest complaint about the game so far is how difficult it is to obtain standard smithing stones. Really hurts a player's ability to test and get a feel for the huge variety of weapons in the game.
The biggest benefit to MCS is that its weapon art is one of the few ways to consistently stunlock Malenia when you and the Mimic gang up on her. The amount of damage you'll be dealing will ensure the only dangerous part of the fight is the very beginning and the start of Phase 2. If you're feeling hungry for some cheese, there's some good-ass cheese right there.
@@ultimaIXultima Everytime I think about trying a new weapon or meta I don't get very far before I remember that at this point in the game it's practically pointless without it being levelled - and there's never enough stones to do that, or if there is it's only effective in areas you've already cleared and are way ahead of.
The erdtree in the capital is pretty good for farming the guardians for their weapon, but I think the forked road in outside Dragonbarrow Cave leading up to that erdtree is probably better. There's about 15 or so enemies, and there's much, much less chance a drop will fall off the side prevent you from getting it. I actually died trying to pick up a drop on the tree that was sliding like a dummy lol
I’m gonna be honest, don’t use a summon for Morgott. He’s a really fun boss and if you use a summon he will literally only attack the summon and you can just ventilate him. Would highly recommend trying him 1v1 until you win or just say “fuck it”
Well, I couldn't kill him with my +9 Meteoric Katana, just not able to hit enough, but I did get him down to about 20% health once. Lost around 5 or 6 times. I put on my Great Stars Hammer +23 with Lion's Claw & Cold and beat him down 1st try, though I was down to a sliver of life. Thanks, that made it much more fun.
Guardian Swordspear: Dragonbarrow Fork grace in Caelid. Head towards minor erdtree & there's 15 guardians (some pop out of ground). There's a bench/path above them with about 15 more guardians. Jump up before getting to erdtree for the 2nd group.
The Minor Erdtree Church is the best location. The Guardians don't hit like they do in Caelid, and they're all surrounding the perimeter of the Church. Just use Torrent and you'll breeze through farming runs.
So a couple of sugestions for anyone watching this. I'm with a Faith build and my main weapon is a Claymore. If you play with a two-handed sword or spead, I highly recommend the Giant Hunt AoW. This thing devastates human-size and even bigger targets. It does huge damage, knocks them off their feet and you can hit them again with it while their getting up. Also, if you're using the Great Stars hammer, I highly recommend the Wild Strikes AoW. Its much better than Golden Land and some of the other's Cowboy has been using.
You can actually summon Melina for Morgott she’s really agile and I think she provides heals and buffs too when you’re low. Pretty cool to see her fight when u ask me
I did notice that for the late zones they got really stingy with allowing you to use ashes, same with a few fights not having stakes and we having to do the good o' runs to the boss. Design inconsistency? Or clashing with philosophy/gameplay feel? I guess we will never know.
@@galaxyorion8725 for castle sol I found that sneaking by the entryway to the elevator was the perfect run as the ghosts wouldn't ping me, it's jank but it beats having one of those knights warping into the arena
Ez gargoyle tip: night rider glaive plus spectral Lance Ashley of war and about 3 blue flasks. Just stand around the staircase going down. He can only hit you with his scream from there. If he hops to you run back to the tunnel with the grace
If you have trouble with the spell like I did, go offline and reload the game, then make sure you are about 2 stone lengths after the stairs and cast it looking at the statue
@@playa4life17 Be sure you're casting the incantation with a seal, not a staff. Even though it requires INT, it's actually not a spell, it's an incantation.
That's why I didn't want to use the summons, and I suggest the same for others. If you want to use them, it's 100% fine, but you won't get to see how good a boss fight can be this way. Morgott was an amazing dance solo. The only main one that wasn't enjoyable is beast man, but his 2nd phase is great. It's a trade off is all, it's not a big deal... or shouldn't be anyways. Solo is very frustrating til a boss clicks, many attempts. Going with help, takes away the "luster" of most boss fights. From gives us a choice in literally everything, and each has pros and cons. No one is "right" or "wrong", just very different. But yeah, Morgott was a lot of fun trying to figure out an opening. Only took 3 tries, but definitely memorable. Anyways, I'm impressed how succinct you got the capital done cowboy. Even on a 2nd run, that place is confusing... kudos on what must've been a tough job
Idk if this is bugged now or patched but after casting law of regression in front of the statue it didn’t change. Maybe I did something during my play through that caused this but I couldn’t get it to change
Really confused as to why you went up the tree then down the tree... 🤔. path you were on goes directly to the stairs lmao. Just felt the need for a bit of parkour I guess lmao
@FightinCowboy....mate been watching your play through forever. I was on new game +7...only to realise on the dlc I am getting smashed. Anyway, started watching again on an entire new game. Quote of the series so far "f*** your throne" lol keep up the good work!
Cool fact: after defeating morgott you can see him on the ground, and you can actually have a conversation with him until he eventually dies. Just a small cool thing
Again, not extremely important, but after you kill Morgott, you can talk to him a couple times for just a little bit more dialogue. Not game changing, but it's there anyway.
Can someone explain to me why 1:57 he makes us go up and down the tree when there is literally nothing stopping you from just going underneath the roots to get to those same stairs?
As of 6/8/2023 when I'm watching/playing this, at 4:55 that door now opens! I've walked in but had to comment here before proceeding. Sorry if this has already been commented (I looked through, there's a lot here)

He don`t deserve to live, sure I missed out on buying an ancient dragon smithing stone from him. There is plenty of them for free anyway!
I love it, he did the regression thing with the statue!
@@Nedk82 I never found this in my playthrough and saw on a yt lore video and I was like wow this is crazy
I do it but it does not work sadly ,nothing happens:(
@@Nedk82 oh..thank you, going to try it asap.
@@-HYO- ask the church of vows turtle about radagon, he talks about the statue. Then you have to do the regression incantation near the message on the floor, if you do it too close to the statue it won't work.
@@AlexStrabala this i tried going right up to it, didn't work, double checked a wiki just to make sure it wasn't bugged and yep, says to do it from the message and it worked.
No clue if you need to talk to turtle pope but it's good to cover all your bases.
Cowboys humor was alive and well in this episode. Great job and I appreciated the comedy.
4:48 bro predicted Nightreign 💀
Bro is the best souls walkthrough maker for a reason
That first duelist was worse than any enemy in this episode. Just hits like an absolute truck, can't stagger him even with a Colossal sword and he attacks pretty fast as well.
Today i ran up that first branch of the erdtree all by myself no guide. I think im getting the hang of it now.
The reason why Morgott never calls Mogh a traitor is because, they were both casted aside by the family for being Omens. While, Morgott got degraded down to a mere attendant, Mogh (because of his full set of Omen horns) got thrown down into the sewers. The family did them both dirty, so Morgott is more sympathetic to Mogh
(Notice how there isn't even a seat for Morgott, despite him being the only one still protecting the throne)

@Chris Ward I don't know why Morgott would despise Mohg, though. They were born thrown aside by the family, just for being Omens. But, maybe Mohg relinquished his family title, so that's the reason why Morgott doesn't mention him?
@@htay6042 Yes. The lore is irrelevant to the walkthrough. But, this is the comment section. We can talk about whatever we want

I’m stuck on this part
@@Fraanksworld What happened? Maybe I can help!
@@MidazMX level 85 intelligence and i cant cast that spell?
He's helping those of us who really suck at dodging, rolling and then timing it well to not get wrecked for 4 hours trying to beat one boss.
If Gostoc is still alive you can buy another one off of him for 20k.
they still say the same thing
Not gonna lie...."fuck ya throne" got me.
I love it when Cowboy tells us “this guy should be easy, you can just shred through them”, and then I die like 5 times trying to beat the guy lol. Jk this walkthrough is a lifesaver, Cowboy, thank you!
"How does it feel to die by somebody wearing your armor"!? FB haha! hecka funny dude!
@4:25 Cowboy must have a crystal ball 🤣
Dual wielding is the way to go. I’ve been using the bloodhound with the dismounter in my left hand for most of this playthrough and it’s been shredding everything.
My arcane char (and me) is cackling with glee when seeing the bloodhound and Morgott's being dual-wielded.
Been using Marais' Executioner Greatsword then the Bloody Helice. Time for new toys!
Lion's claw on a strike weapon, trivializes Gargoyles
"Ha Ha...! I've stolen your thingy" Too Funny. Really good content Cowboy.
it’s cool coming back to this after time has passed, because you call some stuff spot on. like the dueling arenas for coliseums or the hammer you can throw that i think came with the DLC. I haven’t gotten the hammers so i can’t say for sure yet but I have heard about them
Not directly elden related. But thank you so much for helping me through the souls games. Just finished sekiro. Not my cup of tea but I did it with your guidance. Thanks man. 💯

9:45 If you go to the gazebo thing to the right here instead of the left there's 4 or 6 Holy Grease on a corpse.
That Bolt of Gransax is fantastic. That one I used Somber Stones to upgrade up to 9.
After you fight Morgott and rest you will find him as a husk of his former self behind the throne, he has a little bit of dialog but nothing special.
I’m gonna be honest, don’t use a summon for Morgott. He’s a really fun boss and if you use a summon he will literally only attack the summon and you can just ventilate him. Would highly recommend trying him 1v1 until you win or just say “fuck it”
Yeah, I popped Tiche and it was like I wasn't even in the room. Skipping a summons for NG+ for sure, I have no idea what his mechanics even are!
I'm gonna try it.
Thanks, that made it much more fun.
literally used comet Azur and one shot him by accident. couldn't help but see the first boss's health bar in a souls game deplete so rapidly LMAO
Got a 2nd guardian spear AND a full bloom outfit running through this place my first time. The spears seem so fun with that moveset
Guardian Swordspear: Dragonbarrow Fork grace in Caelid. Head towards minor erdtree & there's 15 guardians (some pop out of ground). There's a bench/path above them with about 15 more guardians. Jump up before getting to erdtree for the 2nd group.
Thanks, got a couple to pop up from Caelid location.
The Minor Erdtree Church is the best location. The Guardians don't hit like they do in Caelid, and they're all surrounding the perimeter of the Church. Just use Torrent and you'll breeze through farming runs.
Love your videos, and your commentary is so relatable as well. Big fan of yours!
I like Great Stars Hammer with Lion's Claw & Cold for (123) Frost buildup & (50) Blood loss, It hits like a truck.
@Demonic Vomit they get pretty bad by endgame for some, like castle sol is pretty awful
@@galaxyorion8725 for castle sol I found that sneaking by the entryway to the elevator was the perfect run as the ghosts wouldn't ping me, it's jank but it beats having one of those knights warping into the arena
"Everybody but Mohg he calls traitors." How quaint, so Mohg IS under a bewitching spell. How fascinating and in-depth this lore is.

If you have trouble with the spell like I did, go offline and reload the game, then make sure you are about 2 stone lengths after the stairs and cast it looking at the statue

@@Sheila_Chu I didn't notice that either; the skill we use for this part is a spell called law of regression. How is that connected to the sword?
So I'm already on my third play through but watching these I realized how much I missed lol

Theres more dialogue if you speak too Morgot after defeating him as he lay weathered and dieing - it has quite a lot of lore for what it is.
