It is finally time to make our way to the Capital with all the south content completed. While the enemies here won't be terribly hard if you've been following along the guide the bosses can still be quite challenging. This episode we focus on tackling a lot of the upper portion of the capital city. While there isn't any incredibility important loot this episode there is quite a lot to do here and it's good to fully clear out the capital as we'll lose access to it later.
@@Crusader-777 if you find yourself getting destroyed I have some tips you should and shouldn't listen to. 1 Intel scaling sword? No get rid of it. It's so much cheaper to just buff the weapon with magic or ice. I prefer a high stagger weapon like lordsworns greatsword, but if the weapon is a sword and has a built in status modifier that's better against bosses. 2. ashes of war are pointless. Unless the ash of war is going to help you live or get your spell out it will just cancel your weapon buff... however endure raises your defense and poise, to my knowledge doesn't disrupt the buff. 3 the talisman that raises defenses at full hp mixed with an endure is almost 100 percent damage negation. 4 armor is great but poise is better and that talisman plus endure pretty much has your back. I just wish I could find a high poise low armor, weight set. 5 also you can kill that weird gatekeeper from godricks castle for the second best parry shield however I've been liking having a sword that can double as a shield.

I call this game "Epic." The scale is amazing. It's very difficult to tell someone how "Epic" this game is. 10/10 for sure. I wish it had a quest log. It doesn't need to tell me where to go, I need it to refresh my memory of what I'm looking for. But still, amazing

@@thatboydingus3353eh, I don't even follow the story. You can just go and do whatever you want. The way I personally play is to fully complete a region before moving onto the next. Makes it easier to know what you've done and what you need to do. It's also good to know you're not missing anything.
I have to say that I have noticed so many people comment how the wish the guides didn't talk. I beg to differ and in your case Sir it is most welcome and often profitable. Even when you may not do something you make a comment giving another avenue. Case in point, around 23:36 you mention running by the big Envoy and killing him to get his weapon, even you didn't I veered off course, cranked up my discovery to 283 and got. Very cool weapon, I even went and got the Envoy crown which I think is 15% more damage on the weapon. The charm I already had but I feel as you do, I don't like sacrificing defense to gain some attack, makes no sense. I really appreciate your presentation methods, thanks so much cowpuncher!!
Just popped my platinum trophy in 1 play through thanks to this man..118 hours of pure enjoyment and yes it was my first deep dive into any souls game and I felt great finished at level 143 and got all 42 trophies, absolutely banger of a time!

I was constantly in awe in the capital. It's HUGE. Never expected that it will dwarf stormveil for example. It's like 5 stormveils together. It's how Anor Londo could have been with more budget and experience.
And Irithyll. Actually, Leyndell is probably the equivalent to DS3's Irithyll; around about the same point relatively in terms of progression in the game, big skill check with the area boss (Pontiff), and opens up to end game.
It's too much of a maze for my taste. The first part is very confusing. I guess for future playthroughs I'd just bee line through it because most items aren't important.
It's so heartwarming to see cowboy's own growth during this playthrough. at the start he was struggling with parrying crucible knights and by now he's become a parry god

I'm not even through the area yet and the royal capital is by far my favorite locale in any Souls game. It's gorgeous, it's big, it has enemy variety and it invokes a sense of nostalgia for me.
I love the blood fang. The weapon art is amazing. About 70 hrs in my first playthrough. And i just realized once you start the combo. Itlf you hold your heavy attack after you do your first move. You go invisible and lunge forward for huge damage.
@@finneserrr so, when you do you reg attack with the sword, once that attack goes through. Immediately hit your button for your ash of war, as long as you have fp you do that secondary lil lunge attack with the sword.
"Give the Crucible knight the old Dookey Dookey", he says.... just go in and take care of him, you know the drill...... I got the drill, he drilled it up my back door. I think that means he gave me the old Dookey Dookey. Hate the Crucibles. 2nd try, he got the "Old Dookey Dookey".
@18:20 you actually can get the legendary armament then and there by jumping onto the structure where the tip of the spear is lodged into from on top of the gazebo and doing jumping until you can climb up
I just got it too, thanks for the comment. Took me a min. But you can stand on the pointy decorative tip and do the jump trick , jump and hold sprint, then jump to the ledge just under and to the right of the giant spear. Took me a few tries of running back up. Clear all the enemies on the path for an easy time Requires 40 dex, so not a big deal if you are not going to use it. You can grab it easier later
been watching u since my first try at dark souls games, now i dont end up watching them as much because im a lot better than i used to be when i started lol but god damn man you taught me to check every corner, every cliff for a secret. Thank you my man
Each time he would go back into that room I was thinking ok this time he is going to grab it but it just didnt happen.... Maybe I'm too nosey because I break everything in every room, look over every ledge and attack every wall and yes it takes a while but I have found some awesome loot and secret passages by doing this.
I like to 100% my souls games and I always watch your videos after clearing an area to see what I missed. It's amazing that I found my way around in the capital with so many interconnected alleys and found everything you did! On the other hand I missed the entirety of Caelid Tower in the previous video!
Never been big into gaming until i started playing elden ring about 6 months ago on my buddys console. I went out and bought my own and in love with this game.
The capital was surprisingly easy to loot and just go through in general. Like there isnt a lot of missable/hidden areas. as long as u actually look around and explore u should fond most of the stuff. I already went through the capital and am now watching the walkthrough for it and i got 95% of the stuff here.

Hahah same here, this is my first time playing this type of game, like ever, snd when I first started to play I was so lost and almost returned the game. But I decided to give it one more day and to watch some RUclips videos. That same day CB dropped the first episode of the walk through and I’ve been following step by step ever since. I will play it, let cowboy go untill he gets to a point where he won’t get attacked if he stands there for a minute, I pause the video then follow right along and then when I reach where he is I play the video and repeat. It sucks when I’ve run out of video for the day though snd at that point I just kind of run around goofing off killing things. Going back and killing stuff I had a hard time killing esrlier in the game, or I go try to find secret stuff CB missed which I’ve only found like 1 or 2 things. The biggest being the secret room in the cuckoo church in Raya Lucaria. There is an entire sun room area hidden behind a secret wall that we missed in the walk through. With coffins and some rune arcs. It also opens the church up a lot and let’s s bunch of light in Lol.
Also, I have been waiting on us to get to the Capitol for a good week now cause once we get through there is a whole new area for me to run around and discover shit in cause I’ve been over every inch of the southern areas. I won’t fight any bosses or pick up any loots nor do I go into any dungeons or anything, I save that for my time with cowboy haha but I will Venture ahead in the open world area snd just kill cool new respawn enemies or I’ll pick an area and try to kill everything in it after we have gone through it. Like I’ll take Liurnia and try snd go around with out hitting a grace and kill everything so if you run around there will be no enemies what so ever and it’s just you by yourself with the occasional merchant. I haven’t been able to do that yet I’m Caelid though lol

Also because of there not being anything I care to watch on tv so I just run around this game goofing off waiting on CB to drop the next video I have leveled up past him and he still kills everything much easier than I do. Haha. I’m new to these games but yea, I’m quite a few levels above CB’s character for thee videos just cause of all my running around exploring.
@Brandon Smythe same here, I cheated a little and went snd got the lord of blood area earlier than we did and used the bird off the cliff farm after doing the ball thing a bunch as well and I’m not level 172. Now I will beat the boss in half the time it takes CB and almost all the bosses up to this point since I leveled up last CB has been fun but pretty easy. HOWEVER, the seed beast in the bottom of that ghost cave yesterday has kicked my ass time and time again. I still haven’t been able to beat it. For some reason it’s already spawned when I go through the mist and is ready to attack. Before I can even get through the mist and start swinging or doing anything it’s already attacking me snd kills me. I believe out of 8 tries i was about to get out of the mist snd move 2 times. Both times I rolled away and called my mimic and before the mimic could even form the damn thing killed it then me. It acts WAY different than the one in CB video. It’s almost like it’s spazzed out like those 4 armed soldiers do when you hit them and they don’t die and just start swinging wildly everywhere. I think it’s glitched on me. Super frustrating to say the least, that’s for sure. Lol I seriously haven’t been able to get one swing or one spell cast before dying and that’s even if I pop a rune arc, pop my physik to give me the bubble of protection snd out on a heavy shield and armor. Still 2 shots and I’m poof. I’m my vigor is 50 and 55 with the rune arc.
Doing a second play through with cowboy to get the achievements for Xbox. Cowboy has helped me fall in love with fromsoft games over the last idk how many years. Thanks for helping me git gud 🤠

I’m not sure if you get this in the next episode but you’ve missed a rune 12 as I recall on the rooftop in min 26:55 like after you grab the black bow jump further ahead to the next building and walk to the very edge by the tree you’ll find a hidden loot🙏🏻🤍
0:24 to the left of these doors (he blends in with darkness) you may have Boc the seamstress here. IF he is here just use the "you're beautiful" voice and then interact with him. Do NOT give him a larval tear he will become a lifeless human at rannallas feet. Tell him he's beautiful and let him call you Lord and this NPC won't get a bad ending
They are also really easy to cheese, just jump up onto the shacks that the spawn in and rot then. This does take away the fun tho so do whatever you want
@@derektutton7250 At the time about 60 int and about 22 dex (Note Dex will only have an effect if the Katana itself makes contact with the enemy. I.E Dex does not effect Transient Moonlight). Later in the game the Stargazer's heirloom and the Shard of Alexander can help with this. By "Most" enemies I'm meaning the regular joes, not bosses and special enemies.
An interesting note here is that how little Dex effects Transient Moonlight. I did some testing in the Academy of Raya Lucaria on the Abductor Virgin after the debate parlor. Base damage on Transient Moonlight 1052. Damage with Prothesis wearer's heirloom (boosting DEX): 1052. Damage with Stargazer's heirloom: 1073. The reason I point this out is that for the Moonveil boosting dex ONLY boosts the contact damage of the Katana, not the weapon skill. If you only care about weapon skill damage keep boosting INT
For anyone wondering if you rest at the grace Melina will have a discussion with you and you can finish Boc's questline by giving him the larval tear (he dies) or use the Pratting Pate "Your Beautiful" and he will want to live on.

Not sure if it was luck or not but the knight at 25:30 dropped his whole armour set for me. Just thought I would let y’all know in case it is something that has been missed
I got lucky getting each of those bubble horns the first time I fought one of the small marshmallow dudes and the big one, just happened to drop the first time. Rng gods were feeling generous that day
I used the area where you first encounter the marshmallow dudes to gain some levels and once I was ready to progress further into the area I had close to 40 of those horns and a dozen or so long horns . I'll keep one of each then sell the rest. But on Dark Souls 3 I started keeping the weapons and store them in my chest and I have about 87+ Lothric Knight Swords so its no secret my level grinding sweet spot was Lothric Castle because the knights would sometimes drop embers as well as titanite chunks and of course the sword. Alot of people think that it is hard to obtain certain items due to the low drop rate but to me it's not a big deal to kill the same enemy over and over until it drops the item because I'm old and I grew up on games like Dragon Warrior for the NES and sometimes you had to farm forever it seems to get an item due to the drop rate being so low so I'm well accustomed to grinding and it gets boring at times but at least while you are farming you are getting experience and other items you can sell for money
That first gargoyle guy gives me 3998 souls every time I kill him and the page's to level to 91 so far. I fought them and then ran to the grace... rinse/repeat... Thanks for the great video!!
Man i know its way late but if you eat that golden chicken foot and have the gold beetle talisman that gargoyle will give you a little over 6000+ I did the same thing you talking about for almost an entire night playing just stacking my runes to level up and accumulated over 40 of those bubble horns from the marshmallow dudes in the process
Not sure if someone already posted this, but if you run past where cowboy fought the Erdtree Avatar a little way (heading away from the entrance to the grace) you will be able to summon your spirit if you're having trouble. Then you can just rest at the grace to replenish everything and he won't respawn if you kill him.
@@knight_flyer1199 that’s what I did my first play through. Then the second time I came from a different direction than Cowboy took us and I was able to summon. Think he took us through a shortcut
If you're seeing this and have not played through Leyndell yet, save this video for later. Don't cheat yourself out of the awesome experience and awe of discovering everything there is to on your own. Leyndell as a whole (upper & lower) is a masterpiece of FromSoftware and should be explored to its fullest. That's coming from a 40 year old who's been playing RPGs since Dragon Warrior in 1988.

This playthrough is a thousand times easier than my first lol. I went everywhere i shouldn't have went first. Haven't bounced off an area or boss yet when I spent hours of attrition against bosses and enemies in my blind playthrough.

Honestly cannot believe how trivial you made this area. I naturally came here after Liurnia, found Altus tricky but not terrible, would have been around level 60. I got my ass handed to me so much in the capital first time round, it was the first time since probably Margit that I felt properly roadblocked. I still get that sense of dread whenever I'm back there and I think that the Leyndell theme might be the most fitting music for a zone in the whole game, beautiful yet filled with hopelessness. It perfectly translates that feeling that something here has gone very, very wrong
Not that its super important but where the black bow is at 26:55 if you hop over to the roofs just south there is a rune 10 or 12 I think? I can't remember the number now
At 4:01 and again at 4:27, note there is a chest that contains a perfume bottle that you ran by twice. It's hidden behind a chair in a somewhat dark part of the room.
Been waiting for this video, great content. Yes, the black bow is disappointing. One of my favorite weapons from souls games, increased range plus S-scaling, it has none of it now.
Never played other soils games… the black bow is my favorite bow as is but S scaling ?! That’s nuts. In addition to barrage it’s the only long bow that gets a quick fire shot after landing from a jump (like a short bow ) . It’s a very good blend of short and long bows. Great for status effects. If only want one bow I’d recommend this one.
You can reach the legendary weapon by jumping to the rooftop below it and then jumping across to where you drop down at. I managed to grab it that way just yesterday while testing to see if I could jump that way or if I had to get down from the top.
Minute 18:18, that's the location of the Bolt of Gransax, which is one of the best long-range weapons in the game, and you can actually get it right from that spot! Just jump atop the gazebo and then jump onto the wall's edge. It could take you a few tries, but it works.

The imp @24:56 screams to others for help and has a hard time swinging the weapon he’s using. I’ve never heard an imp make a sound, but this one does! For anyone following this, hold up a shield and don’t kill him. It’s pretty cool to experience.

Mages! Dark Moon Greatsword makes this so much easier but beware you may wish to free the Dung Eater from the sewers and make him drink the potion Seluvis gives you to get his Spirit Ashes before you give the Knife from Noskella to Ranni.
22:15 Finally some progress on crucible knights, had him on his knees several times begging me no to run him thru with the Fang. Car Revenge on Brass shield - same frames as small shield.
18:01 you can make the jump to the Bolt of Gransax and jump up the huge bolt to get it. Not hard at all. Jump to the gazebo roof. It makes it easier if you get a light load so get naked. Jump to the impact point and then up the bolt.
Found it funny when he said dont deviate from the path after i ran through the capital and beat all the bosses up to the the mountain tops of the giants just so i could get rivers of blood

Playing as a level 154 mage and struggling so hard still in the capital. I might use a larval tear, respec, use a strength build for the capital, then use another to revert back to my mage. I'm desperate lol
What weapons are you using? And how are your points distributed? As I’m playing a mage as well and didn’t find the capital harder then for example upper Caelid or Volcano mansion. Using Moonveil +10, Wing of Astel +9 and Carion regal scepter +9. 48 vigor 12 strength 18 Dexterity 30 Mind 10 Endurance 70 Intelligence 7 Faith 9 Arcane +5 intelligence charm Cast speed charm And sorcery potency charm The only enemies I struggle with are the bell bearing hunters, revenants and especially the rune bears!! Those are an absolute nightmare in my eyes. Use rooftops to your advantage to cast spells from area’s they can’t reach you. Large glinstone shard and Loretta’s greatbow are your biggest friends. Even on ground this way you can get some easy damage in before they reach you in melee zone. Big knights with heavy shield use the R2 skill from moonveil. Bait them out to launch an attack. Dodge roll back once, then immediately use the moonveil skill. As they won’t have their shield in front of them. 2 attacks this way should kill a knight. Hopes this helps
@@bartschamp4144 I think part of my issue is I haven't found any somber stones above level 6, so I am using a moonveil level 6. It's mostly the knights I have trouble with. I can't stagger them and get overwhelmed. Stats are Vigor 40 Mind 40 Endurance 18 Strength 17 Dexterity 18 Int 75 Faith 24 Arcane 9 It's weird. I can absolutely melt a crucible knight with Comet Azur, but struggle with the lightning spear knights. Also struggling with abductors.
@@johnnyoutlaw6534 Yeah that’s your problem right there. Most weapon damage comes from upgrading your weapons. And not so much from stats. Go watch episode 38. And follow that episode step by step. Inside lake rot you can find a somber smithing stone 7, 8 and 9. All you have to do is walk around there and fight 1 single enemy to get them. An alabaster lord (The big purple guys) Beside that take 10 points out of Mind and Faith and put them in Vigor. From capital on wards sitting on 40 vigor becomes kinda low. I’m working myself to 60 vigor aswell.
Nice guide. I would be helpful if you post your level and stats along with main loadout items so people can get an idea if they're ready to take on this area.
it took me around an hour and a half with the silver scarab, silver foot and the arcane mimic tear mask (to boost arcane/discovery) in order to get that long bubble horn for my faith build. it's hands down the most fun weapon in the game and it shreds!

Officially hate the sewers in the capital with a passion. Absolute nightmare with more crotch rocket goblins everywhere. I will hang fire and let the expert show me da way as punching my screen is definitely not an option..

Amazing how doable the capital is when you have the right weapons and level. I tackled it a lot earlier than this, with no big weapon to stun the knights, and it was a struggle. Fun, though. Except for the crucible twit. Trivial once you can parry? Yes. Still exceptionally boring to fight? Heck yes.
Do you remember which video was it in that she came for cowboy but not for you? Someone mentioned in comments what to do to trigger her but I can't find that video unless I rewatch all videos (and that's too painful)
If you can one shot the perfumers then this section is much, much easier. Those guys overwhelm you fast if you can't. I think I did this a bit too early in my play through (I still have lots to do in the previous areas).
Most beautiful area of the game so far Imo. The night stars in sof/nok are cool and all but we've seen that before in with lothric/boreal. Leyndell looks completely different from the castles we've seen before. I prefer the roman/greece feel instead of the euro gothic feel.
That part right before you started the rooftop area hoping to get the envoys long horn I actually got it while I was following along in your guide... had a quick laugh, hopped on the interwebs, and realized how broken the weapon is and how lucky I am to get it. Currently looking up OP builds for this weapon. So excited :D. Hope you got it soon after cowboy!
22:30 Yo, this horned spear guy fucked my shit up every single time I tried to fight him. Every. Single. Time. I tried to parry him and I swear to god I hit it at the right time, but he didn’t get knocked down. I’m currently in Leyndell and I’m near where he’s at. I’m never going to fight him again until I get better gear, cus my bloodhound fang and lordsworn’s straight sword+9 isn’t working.

@@thatboydingus3353eh, I don't even follow the story. You can just go and do whatever you want. The way I personally play is to fully complete a region before moving onto the next. Makes it easier to know what you've done and what you need to do. It's also good to know you're not missing anything.

I have to say that I have noticed so many people comment how the wish the guides didn't talk. I beg to differ and in your case Sir it is most welcome and often profitable. Even when you may not do something you make a comment giving another avenue. Case in point, around 23:36 you mention running by the big Envoy and killing him to get his weapon, even you didn't I veered off course, cranked up my discovery to 283 and got. Very cool weapon, I even went and got the Envoy crown which I think is 15% more damage on the weapon. The charm I already had but I feel as you do, I don't like sacrificing defense to gain some attack, makes no sense. I really appreciate your presentation methods, thanks so much cowpuncher!!
Just popped my platinum trophy in 1 play through thanks to this man..118 hours of pure enjoyment and yes it was my first deep dive into any souls game and I felt great finished at level 143 and got all 42 trophies, absolutely banger of a time!

I was constantly in awe in the capital. It's HUGE. Never expected that it will dwarf stormveil for example. It's like 5 stormveils together.
It's how Anor Londo could have been with more budget and experience.

Actually, Leyndell is probably the equivalent to DS3's Irithyll; around about the same point relatively in terms of progression in the game, big skill check with the area boss (Pontiff), and opens up to end game.
It's too much of a maze for my taste. The first part is very confusing. I guess for future playthroughs I'd just bee line through it because most items aren't important.

I'm not even through the area yet and the royal capital is by far my favorite locale in any Souls game. It's gorgeous, it's big, it has enemy variety and it invokes a sense of nostalgia for me.
I love the blood fang. The weapon art is amazing. About 70 hrs in my first playthrough. And i just realized once you start the combo. Itlf you hold your heavy attack after you do your first move. You go invisible and lunge forward for huge damage.

@18:20 you actually can get the legendary armament then and there by jumping onto the structure where the tip of the spear is lodged into from on top of the gazebo and doing jumping until you can climb up

But you can stand on the pointy decorative tip and do the jump trick , jump and hold sprint, then jump to the ledge just under and to the right of the giant spear. Took me a few tries of running back up. Clear all the enemies on the path for an easy time
Requires 40 dex, so not a big deal if you are not going to use it. You can grab it easier later
been watching u since my first try at dark souls games, now i dont end up watching them as much because im a lot better than i used to be when i started lol but god damn man you taught me to check every corner, every cliff for a secret. Thank you my man

You missed a chest in the room above the ladder you climbed like 8 times starting at 4:01. It’s only a perfumer bottle though.
Each time he would go back into that room I was thinking ok this time he is going to grab it but it just didnt happen....
Maybe I'm too nosey because I break everything in every room, look over every ledge and attack every wall and yes it takes a while but I have found some awesome loot and secret passages by doing this.

I like to 100% my souls games and I always watch your videos after clearing an area to see what I missed. It's amazing that I found my way around in the capital with so many interconnected alleys and found everything you did! On the other hand I missed the entirety of Caelid Tower in the previous video!

Never been big into gaming until i started playing elden ring about 6 months ago on my buddys console. I went out and bought my own and in love with this game.
The capital was surprisingly easy to loot and just go through in general. Like there isnt a lot of missable/hidden areas. as long as u actually look around and explore u should fond most of the stuff. I already went through the capital and am now watching the walkthrough for it and i got 95% of the stuff here.

Hahah same here, this is my first time playing this type of game, like ever, snd when I first started to play I was so lost and almost returned the game. But I decided to give it one more day and to watch some RUclips videos. That same day CB dropped the first episode of the walk through and I’ve been following step by step ever since. I will play it, let cowboy go untill he gets to a point where he won’t get attacked if he stands there for a minute, I pause the video then follow right along and then when I reach where he is I play the video and repeat. It sucks when I’ve run out of video for the day though snd at that point I just kind of run around goofing off killing things. Going back and killing stuff I had a hard time killing esrlier in the game, or I go try to find secret stuff CB missed which I’ve only found like 1 or 2 things. The biggest being the secret room in the cuckoo church in Raya Lucaria. There is an entire sun room area hidden behind a secret wall that we missed in the walk through. With coffins and some rune arcs. It also opens the church up a lot and let’s s bunch of light in Lol.
Also, I have been waiting on us to get to the Capitol for a good week now cause once we get through there is a whole new area for me to run around and discover shit in cause I’ve been over every inch of the southern areas. I won’t fight any bosses or pick up any loots nor do I go into any dungeons or anything, I save that for my time with cowboy haha but I will Venture ahead in the open world area snd just kill cool new respawn enemies or I’ll pick an area and try to kill everything in it after we have gone through it. Like I’ll take Liurnia and try snd go around with out hitting a grace and kill everything so if you run around there will be no enemies what so ever and it’s just you by yourself with the occasional merchant. I haven’t been able to do that yet I’m Caelid though lol

Also because of there not being anything I care to watch on tv so I just run around this game goofing off waiting on CB to drop the next video I have leveled up past him and he still kills everything much easier than I do. Haha. I’m new to these games but yea, I’m quite a few levels above CB’s character for thee videos just cause of all my running around exploring.
@Brandon Smythe same here, I cheated a little and went snd got the lord of blood area earlier than we did and used the bird off the cliff farm after doing the ball thing a bunch as well and I’m not level 172. Now I will beat the boss in half the time it takes CB and almost all the bosses up to this point since I leveled up last CB has been fun but pretty easy. HOWEVER, the seed beast in the bottom of that ghost cave yesterday has kicked my ass time and time again. I still haven’t been able to beat it. For some reason it’s already spawned when I go through the mist and is ready to attack. Before I can even get through the mist and start swinging or doing anything it’s already attacking me snd kills me. I believe out of 8 tries i was about to get out of the mist snd move 2 times. Both times I rolled away and called my mimic and before the mimic could even form the damn thing killed it then me. It acts WAY different than the one in CB video. It’s almost like it’s spazzed out like those 4 armed soldiers do when you hit them and they don’t die and just start swinging wildly everywhere. I think it’s glitched on me. Super frustrating to say the least, that’s for sure. Lol I seriously haven’t been able to get one swing or one spell cast before dying and that’s even if I pop a rune arc, pop my physik to give me the bubble of protection snd out on a heavy shield and armor. Still 2 shots and I’m poof. I’m my vigor is 50 and 55 with the rune arc.
Doing a second play through with cowboy to get the achievements for Xbox. Cowboy has helped me fall in love with fromsoft games over the last idk how many years. Thanks for helping me git gud 🤠

I’m not sure if you get this in the next episode but you’ve missed a rune 12 as I recall on the rooftop in min 26:55 like after you grab the black bow jump further ahead to the next building and walk to the very edge by the tree you’ll find a hidden loot🙏🏻🤍
3:23 behind there is a chest containing perfume bottle I believe, it is on one of those rooms with a lot of plants growing throw the floors and walls.

Do NOT give him a larval tear he will become a lifeless human at rannallas feet. Tell him he's beautiful and let him call you Lord and this NPC won't get a bad ending
for anyone struggling with the bell bearing hunters, they are also infinitely parry-able like the crucible knights
They are also really easy to cheese, just jump up onto the shacks that the spawn in and rot then. This does take away the fun tho so do whatever you want

@@derektutton7250 At the time about 60 int and about 22 dex (Note Dex will only have an effect if the Katana itself makes contact with the enemy. I.E Dex does not effect Transient Moonlight). Later in the game the Stargazer's heirloom and the Shard of Alexander can help with this. By "Most" enemies I'm meaning the regular joes, not bosses and special enemies.
An interesting note here is that how little Dex effects Transient Moonlight. I did some testing in the Academy of Raya Lucaria on the Abductor Virgin after the debate parlor. Base damage on Transient Moonlight 1052. Damage with Prothesis wearer's heirloom (boosting DEX): 1052. Damage with Stargazer's heirloom: 1073. The reason I point this out is that for the Moonveil boosting dex ONLY boosts the contact damage of the Katana, not the weapon skill. If you only care about weapon skill damage keep boosting INT
Death poker be op against big health bars. Does such a rapid dot and frostbite
Same with the Fallingstar Beast Jaw. Super cheap ranged weapon art too. Anything it doesn’t one-shot, it staggers in a couple casts.
For anyone wondering if you rest at the grace Melina will have a discussion with you and you can finish Boc's questline by giving him the larval tear (he dies) or use the Pratting Pate "Your Beautiful" and he will want to live on.

Not sure if it was luck or not but the knight at 25:30 dropped his whole armour set for me. Just thought I would let y’all know in case it is something that has been missed
I got lucky getting each of those bubble horns the first time I fought one of the small marshmallow dudes and the big one, just happened to drop the first time. Rng gods were feeling generous that day

I used the area where you first encounter the marshmallow dudes to gain some levels and once I was ready to progress further into the area I had close to 40 of those horns and a dozen or so long horns . I'll keep one of each then sell the rest.
But on Dark Souls 3 I started keeping the weapons and store them in my chest and I have about 87+ Lothric Knight Swords so its no secret my level grinding sweet spot was Lothric Castle because the knights would sometimes drop embers as well as titanite chunks and of course the sword.
Alot of people think that it is hard to obtain certain items due to the low drop rate but to me it's not a big deal to kill the same enemy over and over until it drops the item because I'm old and I grew up on games like Dragon Warrior for the NES and sometimes you had to farm forever it seems to get an item due to the drop rate being so low so I'm well accustomed to grinding and it gets boring at times but at least while you are farming you are getting experience and other items you can sell for money

That first gargoyle guy gives me 3998 souls every time I kill him and the page's to level to 91 so far. I fought them and then ran to the grace... rinse/repeat... Thanks for the great video!!
Man i know its way late but if you eat that golden chicken foot and have the gold beetle talisman that gargoyle will give you a little over 6000+ I did the same thing you talking about for almost an entire night playing just stacking my runes to level up and accumulated over 40 of those bubble horns from the marshmallow dudes in the process
Not sure if someone already posted this, but if you run past where cowboy fought the Erdtree Avatar a little way (heading away from the entrance to the grace) you will be able to summon your spirit if you're having trouble. Then you can just rest at the grace to replenish everything and he won't respawn if you kill him.
Wish I knew that sooner. Ended up cheesing him from the doorway to the grace bc he wont fit and got stuck. Hit him with range spells and bow.
@@knight_flyer1199 that’s what I did my first play through. Then the second time I came from a different direction than Cowboy took us and I was able to summon. Think he took us through a shortcut

If you're seeing this and have not played through Leyndell yet, save this video for later. Don't cheat yourself out of the awesome experience and awe of discovering everything there is to on your own. Leyndell as a whole (upper & lower) is a masterpiece of FromSoftware and should be explored to its fullest. That's coming from a 40 year old who's been playing RPGs since Dragon Warrior in 1988.

This playthrough is a thousand times easier than my first lol. I went everywhere i shouldn't have went first. Haven't bounced off an area or boss yet when I spent hours of attrition against bosses and enemies in my blind playthrough.

Honestly cannot believe how trivial you made this area. I naturally came here after Liurnia, found Altus tricky but not terrible, would have been around level 60. I got my ass handed to me so much in the capital first time round, it was the first time since probably Margit that I felt properly roadblocked. I still get that sense of dread whenever I'm back there and I think that the Leyndell theme might be the most fitting music for a zone in the whole game, beautiful yet filled with hopelessness. It perfectly translates that feeling that something here has gone very, very wrong

Been waiting for this video, great content. Yes, the black bow is disappointing. One of my favorite weapons from souls games, increased range plus S-scaling, it has none of it now.
Never played other soils games… the black bow is my favorite bow as is but S scaling ?! That’s nuts. In addition to barrage it’s the only long bow that gets a quick fire shot after landing from a jump (like a short bow ) . It’s a very good blend of short and long bows. Great for status effects. If only want one bow I’d recommend this one.

You can reach the legendary weapon by jumping to the rooftop below it and then jumping across to where you drop down at. I managed to grab it that way just yesterday while testing to see if I could jump that way or if I had to get down from the top.
Tried this with light load, jumped onto the corner and then towards the middle where the legendary is. This works, nice hint

Minute 18:18, that's the location of the Bolt of Gransax, which is one of the best long-range weapons in the game, and you can actually get it right from that spot! Just jump atop the gazebo and then jump onto the wall's edge. It could take you a few tries, but it works.

The imp @24:56 screams to others for help and has a hard time swinging the weapon he’s using. I’ve never heard an imp make a sound, but this one does! For anyone following this, hold up a shield and don’t kill him. It’s pretty cool to experience.

22:15 Finally some progress on crucible knights, had him on his knees several times begging me no to run him thru with the Fang. Car Revenge on Brass shield - same frames as small shield.

Came to find the second Grace, stayed because you're kicking straight ass.
18:01 you can make the jump to the Bolt of Gransax and jump up the huge bolt to get it. Not hard at all.
Jump to the gazebo roof. It makes it easier if you get a light load so get naked. Jump to the impact point and then up the bolt.

There is a rune on the of the roof a couple of buildings down from where he got the black bow. It's on the back side of a roof slope.
Found it funny when he said dont deviate from the path after i ran through the capital and beat all the bosses up to the the mountain tops of the giants just so i could get rivers of blood

Playing as a level 154 mage and struggling so hard still in the capital. I might use a larval tear, respec, use a strength build for the capital, then use another to revert back to my mage. I'm desperate lol
What weapons are you using? And how are your points distributed? As I’m playing a mage as well and didn’t find the capital harder then for example upper Caelid or Volcano mansion.
Using Moonveil +10, Wing of Astel +9 and Carion regal scepter +9.
48 vigor
12 strength
18 Dexterity
30 Mind
10 Endurance
70 Intelligence
7 Faith
9 Arcane
+5 intelligence charm
Cast speed charm
And sorcery potency charm
The only enemies I struggle with are the bell bearing hunters, revenants and especially the rune bears!! Those are an absolute nightmare in my eyes.
Use rooftops to your advantage to cast spells from area’s they can’t reach you. Large glinstone shard and Loretta’s greatbow are your biggest friends.
Even on ground this way you can get some easy damage in before they reach you in melee zone.
Big knights with heavy shield use the R2 skill from moonveil. Bait them out to launch an attack. Dodge roll back once, then immediately use the moonveil skill. As they won’t have their shield in front of them. 2 attacks this way should kill a knight.

@@bartschamp4144 I think part of my issue is I haven't found any somber stones above level 6, so I am using a moonveil level 6.
It's mostly the knights I have trouble with. I can't stagger them and get overwhelmed.

It's weird. I can absolutely melt a crucible knight with Comet Azur, but struggle with the lightning spear knights. Also struggling with abductors.
@@johnnyoutlaw6534 Yeah that’s your problem right there. Most weapon damage comes from upgrading your weapons. And not so much from stats. Go watch episode 38. And follow that episode step by step. Inside lake rot you can find a somber smithing stone 7, 8 and 9. All you have to do is walk around there and fight 1 single enemy to get them. An alabaster lord (The big purple guys)
Beside that take 10 points out of Mind and Faith and put them in Vigor. From capital on wards sitting on 40 vigor becomes kinda low. I’m working myself to 60 vigor aswell.

it took me around an hour and a half with the silver scarab, silver foot and the arcane mimic tear mask (to boost arcane/discovery) in order to get that long bubble horn for my faith build. it's hands down the most fun weapon in the game and it shreds!
There’s three horns too, the medium is the best for the big bosses tbh but I’m not looking forward to farming it at all.

Amazing how doable the capital is when you have the right weapons and level. I tackled it a lot earlier than this, with no big weapon to stun the knights, and it was a struggle. Fun, though. Except for the crucible twit. Trivial once you can parry? Yes. Still exceptionally boring to fight? Heck yes.

If you can one shot the perfumers then this section is much, much easier. Those guys overwhelm you fast if you can't. I think I did this a bit too early in my play through (I still have lots to do in the previous areas).

Most beautiful area of the game so far Imo.
The night stars in sof/nok are cool and all but we've seen that before in with lothric/boreal. Leyndell looks completely different from the castles we've seen before. I prefer the roman/greece feel instead of the euro gothic feel.
That part right before you started the rooftop area hoping to get the envoys long horn I actually got it while I was following along in your guide... had a quick laugh, hopped on the interwebs, and realized how broken the weapon is and how lucky I am to get it. Currently looking up OP builds for this weapon. So excited :D. Hope you got it soon after cowboy!
Tried that jump at 14:56 several times and can't make to the key item edit: i was able to use the winged scythe to make the jump.
Funny thing is that when I first killed the giant white ball person at start of the capital I got her Horne first try

22:30 Yo, this horned spear guy fucked my shit up every single time I tried to fight him. Every. Single. Time. I tried to parry him and I swear to god I hit it at the right time, but he didn’t get knocked down. I’m currently in Leyndell and I’m near where he’s at. I’m never going to fight him again until I get better gear, cus my bloodhound fang and lordsworn’s straight sword+9 isn’t working.

The big envoys weapon is one of the hardest weapons to drop in the game apparently.
I got one while simply doing run backs to my runes.😂
