This episode we make our way to Mohg, another trophy boss, and also grab the +1 version of the Erdtree favor, while making our way down for some additional nice Frenzy loot. I wouldn't suggest interacting with the fingers at this time, but it's worthwhile making it down those jumps to grab the grace now!
I bought the game like a week after release and put 10 hours in, then completely mangled my main hand. Broke it in multiple places and it’s basically useless now, not sure how long it’ll be till I can play again.. so videos like yours are keeping me from going crazy. Thank you, I mean it.
A trick to destroying those tents, without having to deal with the enemies destroying them for you is; crouch and walk up against the tents as close as you can get, as if you're trying to walk under them, then quit the game and start it again, and when your character loads they will be standing, but because you were kind of under the tent, it will destroy the tent for you.
After 40 min of jumping and rolling I finally made it. I accidentally hit the button to read a message and it “praise the nimble sort!” And I was like, yeah man that’s a good message. I go to praise the message, hit the back jump button and fall all the way down. I was like Nooooooooo
@@Azrael-pc1dzwayyyy too much. Especially conveniently at ledges lol it’s like I get extra nerves about vlosing a message and oops 😅. Pretty sure a few are on purpose
Love these walkthroughs but I couldn’t help myself when cowboy finally died multiple times in a row, in my head all I could think of was that quote “even a god king can bleed” 😂
i just wanna note how full circle this has come for me, i found your channel through your dark souls remastered guide because i couldnt navigate the depths. and now here i am in the depths again listining to the true master. thank you for helping me experience these games.
If the rolling isn’t working for the platforming part…it wasn’t for me, turning around and just tapping dodge to do a back step is more consistent in its travel distance so that may help anyone who hasn’t gotten through this platforming nightmare yet. I mean, c’mon, even hollow knight gave us a double jump.
For any Mage builds struggling like I was with the "Big Revenant" , I was reminded that "Great heal" incantation (14 Faith) will deal 50% of their health per cast, if you can get one cast AS it is spawning in, it staggers, allowing you time to cast the 2nd one, which does the trick. Not really a cheese persay...but maybe a way to help you get passed it.
another tip for anyone having trouble Craft warming stones drop them and stand in them when safe they heal you and allow you to save your flasks, also if you use the bewitching branch on the omens they become charmed and you can kill them without them attacking you at all,in the section where cowboy had to fight 3 omen they usually don't come down the ladder so you can kill tje first one, sneak behind the left omen at the statue use the bewitching branch and it'll start killing its friend for you and then you can finish him off without any danger
It’s easy to do these drops. Instead of looking down to the drop from the regular camera angle…turn it to face your character then aim it down. It’s easier to see if you’re lineup with the drops
a tip for the section with the merchants; if you get the grace at the bottom of the pit and have completed or you're on the correct part of Hyetta's questline, the area at the bottom becomes a "sanctuary" zone, which means you can't die, which means you can fall down from the top and not take a single point of damage. honestly, i'm not even sure you need to do anything hyetta or flame of frenzy related, from the looks of your video, it seems like it turns into a sanctuary zone the moment you break the bottom floor. in other words; if you wanna do this stress free, focus on getting to the bottom first, then warp back to mohg's grace and carry on from there.
Yep, I fell off one of the jumps, the one in the corner. I crashed through the floor and ended up at the grace. I then had endless times to try and get the loot on the lower levels and never died and lost my souls or rune arc from falling. Great idea if you know how to screw up the right way.
This by far is cowboys 🤠 greatest video ever I've beat the game 6 times on my 7th playthrough now and this is my favorite video it's so funny 😁 sorry cowboy it's so funny 😅fast forward to around 24:00 grab popcorn and be ready for a hell of a show
Love ya cowboy. Actually laughed a lot in this one. And I love that you do this all in one take and don't edit out the mistakes. We appreciate you brother🤗
I skipped a few days after making it through this but overlooked the fingerprint shield. I went back to get it and was confused as to why I was not dying when I missed and fell to the bottom. Thanks for pointing this out. A few minutes after I made this comment, I went back and jumped from the top and did not loose any health, much less die!!!
For anyone else still struggling with the jumps/drops in frenzied flame, equip Vykes war spear and use the weapon art. The spacing is perfect, its almost like we're supposed to use it as its a frenzied flame weapon and we're heading for the three fingers.
For the frenzied flame area, if you go down ams break the stone floor first before getting the loot. You don't have to worry about falling to your death anymore. You survive the fall always
He does sometimes spoil things though so for stuff like that I just check wiki, but I'm almost done this game and his videos are more entertaining then reading wiki
I assume others noticed this but I just wanted to point out how cool it is that the ambient environmental music actually goes along with the song the merchants are playing
Miquella's Needle is relevant if you're trying to get another ending but also get the frenzy seal. Allows you to talk to Grape Lady, then cancel out the frenzy after if you want that seal earlier.
Another awesome tip for rainbow stones…. If you drop them off a ledge…. If they stay intact you won’t die from the drop….atleast all the times I checked. If it breaks your either going to die or take a ton of damage but I’d assume you’d just die and not risk it. Upvote so people see this tip…. I use it all the time.
There's a whole questline involving the first merchant you meet, Kale, and he is searching for the Great Caravan. It's a pretty cool story. Someone decoded it in the game files and uploaded it to RUclips; it's worth searching for and watching.
If you're following Cowboy fairly closely and have a +10 Bloodhound fang and 45/45 Str/Dex I have noticed an almost foolproof way to deal with the fatties. Start with a Jump attack, immediatly follow up with a weapons art, (L2 then R2) that seems to stagger them every time and the following R1 should finish them off. Works for me anyway.
As cowboy says, "not exactly sure what this path is for," I get ambushed by an imp and the only thing that saves me is the platform at the end of the path. Think I figured out what its for 🤣
Tip for the gravity jumps. Remove all armour and the jumping is so much easier. Fell a few times with full armour on, took off armour and made it first attempt 👍
Bro, your walkthroughs have made this game great for me. I still have to take care of business on my own, but you show me what is possible. Thank you very much. If you’re ever in Amarillo, I’ll buy you dinner and get you a buzz.
OMG thank you!!!! I was walking around for hours in these tunnels and I knew there was more than kust a few items. Thank you ik general for your walkthough. Just made my way through all of this on my own. This area was so complicated I just wanted to make sure I found everything…. And it did! Took me hours though lol this game is MASSIVE! I used a ton of rainbow stones as well to mark holes I walked past and completed paths like you did!
Cowboy if you see this just know you've helped so much for the early game stuff I later went off on my own after episode 19 to experience everything for myself. What an amazing game! I have finished it and platted, now I rest from gaming for a bit because nothing else will feel the same again. thank you for your guidance. Umbasa.
I’ve been following your play through from episode one and now on episode 60. I don’t know how anyone could complete this game with any real satisfaction without being able to follow someone like you to help. Thank you for what you do. ✌🏽✊🏽
the satisfaction comes from the exploration and discovery and wonder that this game holds. not to backseat, but you should only really be using this guide to get platinum on a second playthrough. the game is so breathtaking and it dampens the experience having your hand held the entire way through
Now that you have some experience, you should really try to do a blind playthrough on the dlc so you don't spoil yourself. Then do a 2nd run with a walk through to find all the things you missed. It's the best way to do souls games.
Hey at 15:00 you talk about rainbow stones. A great use I found for them is to test falls, drop a stone of a ledge and if it shatters the fall will kill you, if not then jump down.
11:53 Just a heads up. If an item falls off the map... you can quit the game and reload and the item will be back to where it was before it dropped. Same with the tents. If you crouch under them and reload the tent will bust open when you load in.
After failing several times, i realized that first ledge you're supposed roll off, you have to kind of hit the wall with your roll or you'll overshoot it. Basically, if you die a million times, you'll get the hang of it. I ended up just jumping them all eventually
After doing those jumps to get down there a few times I’ve found it’s easier to just jump than roll. Rolling got me killed a lot. Every time I’ve made it, it’s just been jumps.
Watching him keep dying on those rolls was hilarious. When I tried it I miss timed the roll and just walked off by mistake, and landed safely each time. Right now , while I'm waiting for him to catch up , I'm wondering if I should aggro one of these violin playing merchants to get to one of these loots under another one of those tents.
I can’t believe how easy everything has gotten since I vowed to play all the FromSoft games and Souls-like games after I preordered this game because it was an open world game and properly got my butt handed to me over and Over and OVER!! It took me forever to beat the game the first time and I remember it being so brutal that when I beat bosses I wasn’t sure if I could ever beat them again. But after following Cowboy’s walkthroughs over the past two years the ONLY boss or bosses I should say that gave me a challenge so far was the Valiant Gargoyle double boss in the Siofra Aqueduct. All the other bosses including Mohg has been no challenge at all. All because of FIGHTING COWBOY BABY!! WOOOHOOOO!!
Another fun episode, thanks to FC. I am directionally challenged so that sewer pipe maze was tough. I made it all the way to the pots with no deaths and stupidly got trapped and killed, then had to find my way back there without cowboy's help. Grateful for the shortcut but took me awhile to find it. Boss was slow to die and then I remembered the shackle, that finished him off fast. I did fairly well on the parkour, just had to jump instead of rolling; took a couple deaths to figure that out. I didn't like tricking the frenzy merchants into breaking the tents, two hits from them was enough to kill me. Not sure how FC managed to dodge the damage. On to the next one!
Seriously Cowboy, years later this is still the best walkthrough! Also, this is the best video I've ever watched of you... "Nooo I did a neutral jump omgoddd." & "Thats right its the controllers fault im not making these jumps." Literally had me dying laughing.
Another way to get at the loot that is blocked by the canopies is to get right up close to it, then quit and reload your game. You character spawning in seems to do damage to it and breaks it. Handy if you killed the enemies and find yourself unable to do it that way.
The other thing you can do with rainbow stones is throw them down a drop before you jump. If it breaks - so will you. If it lights up, then you can survive the jump too. Thx for all the work.
after watching so many beautifully executed maneuvers in the past few episodes of this series (the capital threw me for a loop more than any other area so far) and dying so many times in the subterranean shunning grounds area while watching him do everything flawlessly, it is so so nice to see this guy die a dozen or so times to a platforming section that I got down easily (I only died falling off of the wooden platforms and it was terrible but the gravestones were actually pretty chill)
just a tip if you make it all the way to the bottom and touch the grace you don't die if you jump down from the top, so you can get the grace first and then attempt the jumps and not loose your runes if you miss
If you ignore the loots and work your way to the bottom once you break the floor you wont take fall damage i was testing it from the top and you can jump all the way through then. May save someone a few deaths as the reatempt the tombstone roll jumps.
if you fall while making your way down at the cathedral of the forsaken you can just quit out and it will respawn you at the place you jumped from. Hope this helps
I happy to report that Cowboy's tip on using a "Heal" incantation worked like a champ on the badazz Revenant (from an earlier video). There are 4 Heal spells available, as low as 8 Faith requirement if you're short on that. I used the "Lord's Heal" and the first use stunned the monster even though he wasn't all that close to me, and the 2nd cast killed him. Trying to use regular spells was next to hopeless as he gets in your face and knocks you down instantly. I managed to cast Heal just as I saw him spawn. I'm going to have to go back to War Dead catacombs and see if it works on them too. I bypassed it after dying multiple times.
For the parkour, it may be easier to roll the first one and then just walk off the ledge for the remaining two. Basically, try "roll, walk, walk" instead if you're having trouble!
I was very proud of this episode bc it’s the only time thus far I’ve waited on Cowboy..I got all jumps first try. Every other episode I died multiple times including bosses, jumps, etc. lol
The purpose of that lower platform at around 11:45 is because and imp will ambush out of the door and push you off and you land on that platform when it happens
I’m laughing so hard at 26min lol. I can’t imagine streaming this knowing A LOT of people watching knowing how many times I died trying to follow the path down haha. Mad respect to you Cowboy. Cheers!
For that last part of the video, after getting on that platform under the musician, you do a jump to the left and below, a jump to the right and below, and then one final jump to the loot. It's not too tough if you do it that way, except that damn guy almost killed me when I tried to get that loot that was blocked, haha.
I rested like you suggested before going underground into the pipes, but my stone was still there from before I rested. So the rainbow stones don’t disappear when you rest. Just a little food for thought.
Instead of rolling down those platforms, its easier if you backstep. Just turn your back towards the platform and backstep to land right in the middle of the platform.
What seemed to work well for me during the platforming part was being a heavy load and just doing regular jumps. Was able to make it on my second attempt.
This episode we make our way to Mohg, another trophy boss, and also grab the +1 version of the Erdtree favor, while making our way down for some additional nice Frenzy loot. Right now , while I'm waiting for him to catch up , I'm wondering if I should aggro one of these violin playing merchants to get to one of these loots under another one of those tents.
4:01 did this guy slowly climb down the ladder for anyone else?
From my side just a thank you as well, i wont be able to play this amazing game without your help and walkthrough content.
Another way to get at the loot that is blocked by the canopies is to get right up close to it, then quit and reload your game. You character spawning in seems to do damage to it and breaks it. Handy if you killed the enemies and find yourself unable to do it that way.
Thanks!
Thank you
This is my favorite episode out of all the walkthroughs.
Gravity is the worst boss fight, alongside the camera.
I know this is 2 years old, but in Mohgs boss room there’s an illusory wall behind the chest which leads to a catacomb as well as Deeproot Depths
Ahh, I was so close to the ladder/room with the jars! Gave up for the night, thanks for making these awesome guides! :)
seriously spent a half hour looking for the second drop to get to mogh, thanks for the assist cowboy
Cowboy, this is by far the best episode to date. I laughed my a** off even as I died multiple times trying to roll down those platforms
The other thing you can do with rainbow stones is throw them down a drop before you jump. If it breaks - so will you. If it lights up, then you can survive the jump too.
Thx for all the work.
Using crystal knives to chuck at imps gets them rowing with each other. Just sling a few till the blue bubbles appear and stand back. 😊
Patiently waiting for my Blasphemous Blade.
after watching so many beautifully executed maneuvers in the past few episodes of this series (the capital threw me for a loop more than any other area so far) and dying so many times in the subterranean shunning grounds area while watching him do everything flawlessly, it is so so nice to see this guy die a dozen or so times to a platforming section that I got down easily (I only died falling off of the wooden platforms and it was terrible but the gravestones were actually pretty chill)
just a tip if you make it all the way to the bottom and touch the grace you don't die if you jump down from the top, so you can get the grace first and then attempt the
jumps and not loose your runes if you miss
If you ignore the loots and work your way to the bottom once you break the floor you wont take fall damage i was testing it from the top and you can jump all the way through then. May save someone a few deaths as the reatempt the tombstone roll jumps.
thx for the falling part ... i really loughed very hard ... thx again 😂
Thanks for struggling to get to the bottom. Makes me feel a lot better about how many times I've died trying to do so...
if you fall while making your way down at the cathedral of the forsaken you can just quit out and it will respawn you at the place you jumped from. Hope this helps
here 2024 still playing
The part after Mohg is the closest I've come to destroying a controller in a long LONG time. It's just so frustrating.
at 11:30 the pipes don't make sense on the outside but hey make sense if you go inside them, so I guess that's why they're there
So cool one some or at least one of the merchant guys is still alive and is playing the sorrowful violin score you hear through this area
Worked like a charm!
For the parkour, it may be easier to roll the first one and then just walk off the ledge for the remaining two.
Basically, try "roll, walk, walk" instead if you're having trouble!
Definitely the funniest part of the walk through is watching cowboy die to gravity over and over. Made it first try on PC..... LOL.
🤣 😂 🤣 the end jumps, absolute gold
I was very proud of this episode bc it’s the only time thus far I’ve waited on Cowboy..I got all jumps first try. Every other episode I died multiple times including bosses, jumps, etc. lol
I find it easier if you do it with your armor off. Makes you skinny and you don't hit the edges. Much easier.
I used to love collecting Ball Bearings ! I knew it would come back to haunt me Haha!!
You still can farm rats for Ruin arcs but it is much rarer to get one drone them
😂 this is one of the funniest videos I'm the master of gravity a min later DEAD lol 😆 I laughed so hard my lungs 🫁 hurt lol love your walkthroughs
There is an item across the way from the elevator you take down from where the jars are.....is that covered somewhere?
“Just walk off the ledge..” me, walks off to fast 😂
Fromsoft's level design never ceases to amaze me
The purpose of that lower platform at around 11:45 is because and imp will ambush out of the door and push you off and you land on that platform when it happens
The last few minutes of this video 😂😂😂 Needless to say I will not be doing this
Beat this boss also on the first try. Loving my +10 mimic and +10 bloodhound fang
How did he use summon without losing fp
I rested like you suggested before going underground into the pipes, but my stone was still there from before I rested. So the rainbow stones don’t disappear when you rest. Just a little food for thought.
Instead of rolling down those platforms, its easier if you backstep. Just turn your back towards the platform and backstep to land right in the middle of the platform.
As cowboy attempts his greatest foe yet gravity. the violin *intesifies* 🤣🤣
What seemed to work well for me during the platforming part was being a heavy load and just doing regular jumps. Was able to make it on my second attempt.
This is why I read the comments first. Turn around and press Circle (PS) to do the back step. Accurate and much easier.
I got it on my 2nd try.
22:32 you actually made me feel bad about killing a few merchants 😂
