“The thrones…stained by my curse, such a shame I cannot bear” is easily the best delivered line in the entire game. It’s so heartbreakingly sad and ashamed.
I get the impression he was meant to be even more present in the story, maybe appearing to hunt you alongside his Night Cavalry at points kinda like the Bell Bearing hunter.
The only issue I had was that at some point in the story, such as at the start of the game, night's cavalry could at least escort him in a caravan, and when we got to the boss fight, it would involve atleast one night's cavalry in a bigger arena. That would make the relationship between them clear.
"The thrones... stained by my curse, such shame I cannot bear. Thy part in this... shall not be forgiven" is easily the most heartbreaking and badass line in this game
The 2 hardest lines ever spoken come from this man. “I shall remember thee tarnished, smouldering with they meagre flame, cower in fear of the night, the hands of the fell shall Brook thee no quarter” “Have is writ upon thy meagre greave. ‘Felled by King Morgott, last of all kings.”
The voice actor did a very good job showing the inner conflict and the pain Morgott has been throw. You can literally feel the pain in his voicelines during the second phase of the fight in the royal capital. For me one of the best characters in the game.
I always felt morgott was done dirty in elden ring. As margit its great but as morgott the last of all kings i really wish they made his fight longer. Id wish his second phase would actually be after you "killed" him once. Hed then rise up yelling out his frustration and then doing his second phase with a new health bar. Maybe even in the last 25% we see grace envelope him which to me would make the godfrey cutscence where morgott becomes his guidance of grace more special. Maybe im too much of a fanboy but he feels like a half baked badass.
Thanks for sharing. Morgott deserved more screen time, or at least an additional/missable bossfight where night cavalries escort him back to Leyndell and we can ambush his caravan, then he appears as a short bossfight when the cavalries protect him so he can flee, sort of.
Agree but if that was the case, then Godfrey would need two phases as well with full health bars seeing he is stronger than his son and is there to protect the throne/or recapture it. Would probably tire the player because radagon also has two phases and it comes right after Godfrey. With that extension mohg would also need two phases. And all three of them would be as pain in the ass for the player as Malenia is because they all hit harder than Malenia and have insane poise compared to her(if we ignore waterfowl dance).
Same, unfortunately by end of Leyndell most people can kill our boy Morgott easily- my BHF destroyed him 😭 he just needs more HP… I made sure to use Morgott’s sword for the rest of the game though, I had to honor him 😤
his voice actor : "Tremble now with fear...for the hands of the fell omen will soon be upon thee...to put out thy little flame..... Developer : ABORT ABORT, WE NEED PLAYER TO FEAR OF HIS HORN, NOT HORNY!
Wait, was his curse lifted when he died? I just now noticed that his omen horns and tail are gone. Also, his story is so tragic, especially his remembrance description "He loved not in return, for he was never loved, but nevertheless, love it he did." I loved Morgott. I wish there was a way to spare his life like Queen Renalla. Even as the last King of the Lands Between, he still wore rags.
Indeed, in death, Morgott's physical deformities seem to have vanished. Whether this symbolizes a release from his curse or simply a restoration of his true form is open to interpretation. His tale is undeniably tragic, a testament to unrequited love and duty. While his reign might have been different, his unwavering devotion to the Golden Order, even in tattered garments, is a testament to his character.
i just spent 10 minutes looking for the definition of the word "dane" and where i'd heard it from. apparently he says "the erdtree wards off all who *deign* approach". i love the language used in these games
This is why I'm hooked! It's not just about the gameplay, but the world-building too. Ever looked up the etymology of other words they use? It's a rabbit hole worth going down!
Forget Ranni, I want to be Morgott's consort and help him feel peace with himself at last while leading Goldmask's age of perfect reason so Morgott can at last feel the love his god has denied him for so long. Poor man deserves it.
3:28 I love how morgott first goes for the cane as you would with a cane normally as if he has forgotten that it is originally a sword, then turning his hand around
That's a great catch! Maybe it's a hint at how long Morgott's been carrying that burden... or maybe he just likes to mess with us before the fight starts. 😈
I think they were too serious about omens and lineage. If they had let Morgott rule, the Lands Between might be different now, perhaps more divided but also potentially more accepting of those deemed 'unworthy'.
Ikr. Morgott's story is seriously epic. The way he’s torn between his cursed blood and his duty to the Golden Order just adds so much depth to his character. You can really feel the weight of his struggle, like he's doing everything he can to protect something that’s brought him nothing but pain. That mix of loyalty and suffering is what makes him such an unforgettable character. Honestly, everything about Morgott just hits hard.
Welcome back, and thanks for sharing. He's truly one of a kind and if you look up his backstory, he's probably one of the saddest yet closest good guys you can get in the morally grey world of Elden Ring.
I'm guessing, since he uses a lot more "thou" and other older word flourishes, than some of the other royals. That even behind all that shame and guilt he truly believes himself Marika's child. Tho not seeing himself worthy of the Elden Ring, is definitely worthy of judging who is. Or something like that. I really enjoy his character
Margit/Morgott's dialogue definitely has an archaic, almost biblical feel to it. This could reflect his isolation and adherence to an older, stricter code of honor compared to other demigods. His belief in himself as Marika's true heir, despite his Omen heritage, is a fascinating paradox.
Bro as soon as I saw margit/morgott for the first time with his “Foul tarnished in search of the Elden ring..” I was like “WHO IS THIS COOL AS MF” (I proceeded to get my ass whooped 2 before beating him

Am i the only one who thinks that margot im disappointed by ranni not embracing their lineage and he sounds somewhat angry with rykard idk maybe he tought they were a good choice
You're definitely not alone! Margit seems to uphold this ideal of family loyalty, even though the Golden Order is totally dysfunctional. It makes sense he'd be disappointed in Ranni for defying it and feel betrayed by Rykard's whole blasphemy thing.
@ikigaofficial yeah dude and idk but I think he acknowledged them in the order he most likely to be a good successor to all and I think he didn't consider godrick and the twins to even have a chance to be elden lord (his ideal ofc) and after he counts them then comes radahn rykard and ranni idk maybe he disappointed that ranni killed godwyn
@MertDSavas That makes sense! Margit could be ranking his siblings based on who he thinks would make the best Elden Lord. He probably sees Godrick and the twins as weak, Radahn and Rykard as too flawed, and Ranni as the most capable but ultimately a traitor. Could be extra bitter about her role in Godwyn's death too.
@@ikigaofficial yeah in my head godrick and the twins never came in question for him thats why the shot Cuts away before going on and with radahn he Sound a bit like jolly I guess like he could have make it but with some more growth to be a lord rykard was a good choice but leaves to devour God's thats why he might be angry an ranni was the best and her reason for leaving has no ill intended she just wants to decide herself about her future
@MertDSavas Yea. The way Margit disregards Godrick and the twins highlights how little he thinks of their potential. There's almost a sense of pity towards Radahn, acknowledging his strength but not necessarily his leadership qualities. Rykard's betrayal likely stings deeply for Margit, as it undermines the entire Golden Order that he upholds. Ranni, on the other hand, could have been a worthy successor, but her ambition and defiance make her a threat in his eyes. Her motivations may be noble, but Margit is likely too entrenched in tradition to understand them.
I was riding in leyendell once and heard someone that sounded like him talking to me and when I tried to hit a npc he took them away. Has this happened to anyone else cuz I’m confused😭
It's his illusion in the video, where it spawns in the middle of Leyndell's empty field. He didn't take anyone away, just a commoner enemy that shifted into him.
It's more likely a combination of factors: 1. Great Runes: The power of the Great Runes seems to affect their bearers' size, as seen with Godrick and Morgott growing larger after claiming their shards. 2. The Golden Lineage: Demigods, being descendants of giants, might inherit some of their ancestors' size. 3. Gameplay: As you mentioned, larger enemies are easier to see and track, making for more engaging combat encounters. But let's be real, it also just looks cool. Giant sword-wielding demigods?
