UPDATE 11/16/2021 THESE SPRINGS WERE GREAT FOR LESS THAN A YEAR AND MAYBE 8000 MILES BUT THEY ARE ALREADY VERY SAGGED AND HAVE VERY LITTLE LIFE AND REBOUND. SUPER UPSETTING.
@@Danomega1 yeah man, total shit metal sadly. i replaced them with these OME ones which i really like so far after 2000miles. great height and repsponse. they seem rly good. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SQFXVSO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yea but be a man. But actually these barely need compressing to make it in, they are free standing springs where springs on a loaded strut tower need extreme compression to fit in, and that is dangerous work doing that.
i actually really like them, after about 8000 miles im still sitting where i was when they were new. They have a great ride height look and feel. amazingly they were $50 on amazon.
Didn't disconnect the tracbar? Wouldn't that put more tension on the other side doing that w the bottle jack? But it is rough to have to do all that other work around w the trackbar so I get it 😂
Idk if I’m just missing something but wouldn’t it have been easier to use spring compressors instead of undoing all that stuff? Not that the way you did it looked hard was just wondering if there is a reason you didn’t use a spring compressor and just compress the spring and pull it out 🤷🏻♂️
I've never seen this done on any car. Getting the compressors in that space, properly seated and secured, and then getting your impact gun/ratchet in there to activate them is damn near impossible. Just not enough space. Putting weight on the axle is the easiest way.
the instruction was good, but your mannerisms are what really made me love the video lol!
haha thanks, glad you enjoyed.
Agreed super chill

Were these Moog 81043? My shit did the same thing.

@@echosierraenroute I just got a pair OME 891 ready to install, so we'll see!
@@Danomega1 good luck
I got OEM for that reason. Many amazon reviews said that.
Great video. I was going to have the local tire shop do it, but not anymore. Thanks
Love to hear it, you’re welcome.
"Schock" on springs! Humor and common sense included. Thanks Evan
haha you bet, hope it helped you.
instaBlaster.
Thank you very much, this video helped me a lot.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the video dude
You bet
I just put new front struts on my wife’s 4Runner (96 2wd) and it looks like it has the Carolina squat and so now I’m here lmao
Nice. Struts up front (with coils pre installed) is a nice easy job . This has a few extra steps but not bad.
Don’t forget torque specs
Hey thanks man this is a great video!
glad it helped!
Good info, you're views will be going up soon
thanks! appreciate the comment
Nice bro! Super good vid! Thanks heaps 🤙🏼
"Put your fucking ass on here "lol
lmaoooooo
Did you replace the Moog Coils? If so, which ones did you replace with? What do you recommend for a 1996 4runner 2wd 3rd gen? thank you!
i did, they were quite bad after less than a year. i went with the OME 906. great height, about 2" higher than stock, they are a bit stiff however.
That's it..just super chill 😂
toadz
Just an observation. Couldn’t you use a spring compressor to make coil installation a little easier?
Yea but be a man.

Are these Moog 81041, for 15" or 16" rims, or does it matter? Great video, thanks
I wouldn’t think there is a difference between the two wheel sizes, this 4runner has 16” wheels
Good luck
How are the Moogs treating you so far?
i actually really like them, after about 8000 miles im still sitting where i was when they were new. They have a great ride height look and feel. amazingly they were $50 on amazon.
UPDATE THEY ARE TRASH AFTER 16 MONTHS, SAGGED LOW AND NO LIFE

Trackbar? Do you mean sway bar? I removed that.
Not sure what you mean.
What? Where is the final walk around?
I have failed you
