    Just finished the job! Thank you for the cutoff idea it worked great. I ordered the same c press. I was able to get the ball joints in about half way with the Milwaukee lil stubby and a deep impact socket. Than used a 3 foot cheater bar and it went in nice and smooth. I am so relieved this job is finally done. 🎉🇺🇲👍

      With the right tools and technique, it’s not too bad!! Took 2 hours with filming for one side and 1 hour without filming for the other :)

    I think you could rent the "4wd cup kit" or whatever it's called from O'Reillys aswell

      @@PhoRunner sorry I commented before I saw the entire video. I think there's a kit that you can use so you don't have to cut the threaded part on the ball joint that attaches to the big c-calmp.

    Hello, your really knowledgeable about these 3rd gen 4 runners. I been wanting one for a while. But I here that these rust amd they have alot of issues, is there a specific year that I should avoid within these 3rd gen?

      They all rust in the salt belt areas. Buying one in a non rusty location is key.

    I had really good luck with the freedom off-road UCA's with upper ball joints. Larger control arms that fix the positive camber from the Bilstein lift. Those upper ball joints are good, but with the lift they are stressed much more than when the truck was at stock level.

      Should be ok but likely your uppers are fine! Just reboot?

    What was the ride height on this runner? I see the bilsteins, and it doesn't seem like you have extended brake lines. I'm getting ready to install a 2.5" lift and am currently waiting on extended lines, but am curious if I should wait for those or just get everything installed first

      Not needed for front. For rear, this is fine without extending brake line.
      This is a 2” lift

    How do you test for upper ball joint failure on the 3rd gen 4Runner? Maybe this is the reason why my car is pulling to the right..

      You use a dial indicator. I didn’t show it but the resistance and up and down play i showed should give you an idea. The passenger one was too worn and not within tolerance for dial indicator

      Usually yes but Id just get it checked or drive it and see how it feels. this shouldn’t be moving things too much to need an alignment.

      @@PhoRunner I have had the wobble since I bought my 2002 Runner in 2019. Just mounted new tires and still have the wobble. Next, upper and lower ball joints

      Swap the tires front to back and see if it wobbles.
      Believe me, mine wobbled after I changed out the whole front end.
      Had 3 places balance it and finally got it decent the last time. He used a lot of weights and said most shops skimp and do bare minimum weights. Road force balance helps too

    ? curious about how many miles on your rig at the time of this task/filming... that RH UBJ had a lot of wiggle in it, is that non-normal? ... I have a '97 taco with 340k and still have the factory UBJs and wonder if they are toasted by now lol... its already roached 3 LH wheel bearings so far and no clue what keeps going on

    Could you just use a longer 27 mm socket and avoid using the grinder? I feel as though the length of the socket maybe was the only reason it was in the way

      The puller won’t fit with a deep 27 sadly

    Since I’m doing the whole assembly of, lower/upper ball joints, inner/outer tie rods, sway-bar links, and both control arm bushings, would you recommend that I just remove the control arms entirely and work on the joints all separated? Also does the order matter? Thank you for the input!

    Not a critical component until you are driving down the road at 60 MPH and the wheel falls off then it's a critical matter
