Thanks for the 4Runner playlist, Speedy! I inherited a '98 3rd Gen (236K) about a year ago and was looking to do practically everything you have done to yours... just so I know where I am at with its maintenance. I appreciate your knowledge, time, and experience - along with documenting for the rest of us. Great stuff :)

I wish someone would do this for the second gen Honda pilot. I’ve been doing little here and there on mine. I would like to do my struts before snow hits. This is some great content. I really appreciate it speedy thank you.

When checking for play, place the pry bar between the LCA and the LBJ.

Good idea going OEM with LBJ's and bolts. I did mine 5 years ago @235K on my 2000 T4R, 275K on it now and with just basic maintenance, these trucks will run for ever. To 300K and beyond!

I love how you explain things and make me confident in tackling jobs myself.
Any chance you’ll be doing anything with the charcoal canister? Replacing hoses maybe, giving an explanation as to what goes where and why? Mine is all jacked from the previous owner as part of the filler neck was rusted out. (2001 here - only the ‘01-‘02 have it in this spot).

FYI "most" people recommend OEM only for the lower ball joints due to the risks if it breaks.

Thanks for a great video Speedy. Does the Sport Runner have improved steering and/or road feel after replacing the LBJ's?

My original LBJs weren't in terrible shape so I didn't really notice any difference with the new ones.

The pink milkshake. Happened to me had to flush my transmission with about 5 gallons of trans fluid using a small pump. Changed trans filter and out on an external cooler. Not taking anymore chances cooling the trans through the radiator

I have a 2002 4Runner. It has the death wobble around 65. Really need to get this done before it explodes.

Wow! These things tend to last forever with a little TLC here and there. LBJs are super easy and a no brainer for 100K (ish) maintenance.
