although this is a tough one for a begginner like myself, your instructions are clear and your voice is very soothing (makes you think you can conquer it) LOL
Your channel is the best! I am an experienced knitter. I have been knitting for 30 years, but I am in school and doing a lot of printing. This semester, I am taking a knitwear class! I love to knit. Thank you for your great tutorial; I enjoy them a lot!
Very nice knitting pattern. What I love is that you have added the description and the explanation side by side. This makes reading (and understanding patterns) much more simpler. Thank you.
This is my first real knitting project (aside from the million things I’ve cast on and then abandoned - I am a pro at casting on😂). I’ve been a crocheter for years and knitting has always been SO overwhelming for me. This video was so easy to follow along with! I’m happy to report that mine looks just like yours! And I plan to keep going;) thanks for the amazing, easy to follow video! I subscribed and can’t wait to try more. Xoxoxo
This lattice stitch is GORGEOUS!!! Your video instructions; plus the written pattern next to your video is an excellent idea and well done!!! Thank you! Thank you! Also, thank you for your free patterns!!
I remember watching this pattern late last year and I have no idea how to do cables. This was very informative and useful, and since then, I was able to do various cable patterns, even on some of my crochet work. It really helped me a lot Kristen. Thank you. 😊
You have actually restored my faith in myself! Thank you so much for a fantastic easy to follow pattern. Will definitely give this a go and hope to try more of your patterns xx
I always enjoy listening to your commentary on patterns. You have such an upbeat voice and make the knitting extra enjoyable. Thanks for demonstrating this pattern. You make it so easy for me to understand.
Your patterns are very cool. I'm too a beginner and love doing artsy stuff. I'm a painter and well and now I'm also getting hold on knitting patterns also. Thanks for making it easy, it really sparks my interest and I find it very soothing to my mind, heart and passion for art. Keep making more videos. God bless you
Love your style of video tutorials. You make it look so easy. Love how your have that little heart icon following the rows on the pattern too. Cant wait to try this. Thankyou for the tutorial.
The lattice stitch is one of my favourite stitches but I lost the pattern years ago. I'm happy to find it again with a good tutorial as a refresher. I find this stitch great for cuffs.
Kristen, I would love to see a scarf pattern showing a number of patterns, like a sampler pattern scarf. It would be fun to show a multiple of skills and interesting patterns!! Great gifts, holidays will be here soon :)
I like this pattern-- I think I will make a sample about the size of a potholder--to see if I like to make something bigger from this pattern--That is what I always do first--that way I can still use my sample--even if I just cover a potholder with it--Making cables was a little tricky when I first started doing them--but now it is a piece of cake--and I love the designs you get with cables--Your patterns are so easy to follow--thanks so much
Your video is very nicely done. I like how the written pattern is beside the video of you knitting. For me, it makes it easier to understand. I also really like how the heart moves to the next step. Definitely got a like from me, and I look forward to trying this.
Another great lovely stitch! Your a great teacher thank you so much for teaching us all how to do this amazing stitches! Thank you for Sharing!!! Hugs Liz x
I loved the way you explained this. It was so easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am now following your channel and on your email list. Looking forward to learning more from you. You are going to be very helpful to me. Thank you.
Thank you for your amazing video!! I love your explanation. Your so calm and precise. I'm going to knit this pattern right now:) looking forward to your next one 💓
It looks like cable stitches to me. You make it so easy. I always slip the back stitches that hold the cable needle. What does it mean " multiple by 4"
Thank you for this great stitch pattern! I would like to use this stitch to make a cowl. To work this stitch in the round, all I need to do is invert the instructions for the even rows (for instance, when it says k2, p4, i would instead p2, k4), correct?
E. G. Say what now????? I’m left handed girl, don’t do this to me. Does this mean I’ve started all my projects wrong??????? You mean to say that my cast on row is really my right side, not my wrong side?? That’s it. I give up. I’ve been in denial all my life. I thought I was special 😢 for figuring out how to knit 🧶 as a lefty. Cause yaw’ll righties really do knit weird.
Love your videos and instructions for knitting. I have learned so much. I have a request if I may. 😁I would like to knit an adult sized pea coat and can not find a video on one. Would you please consider making one with instructions? Thank you so much for your hard work and wonderful videos of learning to knit. Blessings!
Thanks so much, Priscilla. Oh, that's an ambitious project. I doubt I'll get to that on my channel soon. You may wish to check out Ravelry.com for a good knitting pattern for it. Good luck!
An idea I got off another RUclips channel is to go to Goodwill and find sweaters to unravel if you don't have them sponsor you, it doesn't really matter, unless you're going to wear what you knit. Just a thought
The edge of my work keeps coming out lumpy. I did this pattern with just 12 across to try to get the hang of it. My bookmark shaped piece flares out at the top and bottom and something weird is going on with the right and left edge too. Any advice for me? PSA for other newbies: it's hard to cable onto a metal needle. I'm going to get bamboo and see if I have less slipping off.
Talani Casariego Yes 👍🏻, I do find bamboo much easier for holding cable stitches! (or when I'm learning new stitch patterns🤓) Hope you have success using them, too
Talani Casariego could be that you are getting tense and that can chsnge the width of your work. Try and knit with a mind-set of 'its ok to unravel this if I make a mistake'. When teaching people to knit its always great to get them to knit a few rows and....unravel it! We all get so preoccupied with NEVER ruining our work as it means starting again that we get tense. Sorry for rambling! :) God bless x
Talani Casariego Hi Talani, I’m left handed and it usually takes me many attempts before I get a pattern right because of how my brain is weird and because patterns are a math thing. If you did 12, remember that the repeat series is a 6 chain pattern but there’s always stitches either before or after you start the pattern so you are probably eating these stitches ooooor you are probably including the stitches that come before the asterisk. Remember, once you start knitting the first number/letter after the asterisk you only knit what’s inside the asterisk and listen or watch how you need to end your row. Ending a row is normally indicated at the end and after the asterisk ooooor if nothing comes after the asterisk then that means that you will finish your row with the repeat pattern. It took me time to try to understand what should I knit and what not. Ohhhh and notice that the pattern usually ends with knitting (right side) 2 stitches or purling (wrong side)
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing this video. It’s very helpful. If I wanna knit this pattern in circular motion, how do I alternate the wrong side stitches, please?
Love this lattice knit stitch! I am trying to knit a hat in the round with this stitch and I am having a hard time adapting it to the round. Do you happen to have instructions for that? Thanks.Maria Vieira.
Hi Kristen in your knitting book it says cast on multiple of 6, in the written pattern it says cast on a multiple of 12. I have been practising your patterns starting with the bunny pattern but I am wanting to carry on without binding off. The bunny pattern has 30 stitches, will the lattice pattern still work out?
You need a proof reader. In one place for lattice in the round it says the starter row 2 is K2, P4 and in the other is says row 2 is K4 P2 I am new at this flat vs. circular so I am confused but I think K4 P2 is right. Is it?
I'm going to make an aran pullover using the lattice stitch. Do you think I have to do the 2 starter rows after the border at the waist, or can I skip them? Thanks, Tony.
I tried this and mine looked a mess 😂 cant figure out where i went wrong . I had on 30 stitches and but when i looked at how it was shaping up on rom 4 it looked a mess 😂 ive gave up trying but yours looks beautiful
Was looking for something different for a blanket to make for my new grandson who will be here in November when I came across this! I was wondering what kind of border would you recommend?
It seems fairly simple and straight-forward, but I simply cannot follow your video - not because there's anything wrong with the video or the way you did it, but because I grew up knitting with the yarn in my left hand. It's a completely different set of movements, and I wonder if there's something geographical in that. The result looks lovely, though, and I will find some cheap yarn to try it on so I can get the logic - and then move on to the wool.
How do I know the right side and the wrong side? I added some more rows before now wanting to add the lattice cable stitch. and yes, I am a rookie! lol
This video should help: ruclips.net/video/2ydfl5i8r2Y/видео.html For this pattern, the right side is the lattice pattern. The wrong side looks like wavy vertical lines.
although this is a tough one for a begginner like myself, your instructions are clear and your voice is very soothing (makes you think you can conquer it) LOL
I'm so grateful that you "throw" English style. I never got Continental to work for me. Thank you so much for making these videos!
You are so appreciated by many of us, thank you for taking time to show these beautiful patterns and video's.😉
Thank you so much, Susan. That's really sweet and wonderful to hear!

Thank you for putting up the pattern as you talk!
I didn't think I'd want to try this but after watching your video, I can now read and understand knitting patterns too. Thank you
You have actually restored my faith in myself! Thank you so much for a fantastic easy to follow pattern. Will definitely give this a go and hope to try more of your patterns xx
Love your tutorials! Now you have taught me how to cable knit! I feel a whole new world of knitting possibilities has now opened up! Thanks!

Perfect Tutorial...
Perfect Teacher!!!
The lattice stitch is one of my favourite stitches but I lost the pattern years ago. I'm happy to find it again with a good tutorial as a refresher.
I find this stitch great for cuffs.
Sooo pretty! This would make an amazing scarf.
Yes, totally! I figure that casting on 48 stitches would be a great width for a scarf.
Best teacher on RUclips 💯❤️
Awww... you totally made my day. Thanks, Sophelia.
One of the very best videos i’ve seen!! Thank you🙂
Oh, very sweet. Thanks for watching! 💖
Great video! Easy and clear to understand. Thanks!

I just love anything that looks cozy during Winter season... I just love feeling cozy and this is a cute, cozy project to keep in mind. =)
Kristen, I would love to see a scarf pattern showing a number of patterns, like a sampler pattern scarf. It would be fun to show a multiple of skills and interesting patterns!! Great gifts, holidays will be here soon :)
Yes! I was thinking of creating a cowl that did just that (a quicker knit, ha)!

Thanks so much 😊
Very clear and helpful! Can you recommend a sweater pattern using this stitch? Thank you!

Wow this is beautiful! Thank you for all your amazing and helpful videos 🙏🏼❤️
I am lost from road 8 so please show more thank you !😀
This would be great for making a textured scarf or cowl.
Kristin , is it possible to add an embellishment to a knitted piece please . It is for a new baby blanket.

Noooo! I don't have a cable needle!
*grabs toothpick*
OMG, YES! Make it work!
You can use a pen/pencil, a crochet hook, chopstick, even a paperclip if you don't have one.
You can use pretty much anything, as the ladies said, even a crochet hook, Bobby pin, safety pin, you have to be created sometimes, have fun!!!!
Samantha Carritt innovation is awesome!!!
I don't have a cable needle too but I used another needle. Works fine. It's just hard. My best wishes, Chip

You provide such excellent clear directions. Thank you! I want to buy your pattern book. Where do I go to buy it?
Thanks so much, Samantha! You may find all the Knit Stitch Pattern Book options to buy here: www.studioknitsf.com/knit-stitch-pattern-book/
It's a very pretty pattern!! ❤❤
But, is it possible to get the same pattern on both sides and not just on one side?
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing this video. It’s very helpful. If I wanna knit this pattern in circular motion, how do I alternate the wrong side stitches, please?
💜❤💜❤💜💜❤💜thankyou 💜💜💜💜💜
I don't have a cable neddle
I love this stitch! Is there any way to decrease after a number of rows?
Love this lattice knit stitch! I am trying to knit a hat in the round with this stitch and I am having a hard time adapting it to the round. Do you happen to have instructions for that? Thanks.Maria Vieira.
can I add an edge to this by adding 2 extra at the cast on and dropping the first and knitting the last of every row?
Great
Hi Kristen in your knitting book it says cast on multiple of 6, in the written pattern it says cast on a multiple of 12. I have been practising your patterns starting with the bunny pattern but I am wanting to carry on without binding off. The bunny pattern has 30 stitches, will the lattice pattern still work out?
If using acrylic yarn with this stitch, will the ends curl? Looking to make a scarf. TY
This is a pretty stitch? How many stitches would you recommend for a hat?
You need a proof reader. In one place for lattice in the round it says the starter row 2 is K2, P4 and in the other is says row 2 is K4 P2 I am new at this flat vs. circular so I am confused but I think K4 P2 is right. Is it?
the starter row 2 does not say to k2, p4; its k4, p2 for both rows
I'm going to make an aran pullover using the lattice stitch. Do you think I have to do the 2 starter rows after the border at the waist, or can I skip them? Thanks, Tony.
I tried this and mine looked a mess 😂 cant figure out where i went wrong . I had on 30 stitches and but when i looked at how it was shaping up on rom 4 it looked a mess 😂 ive gave up trying but yours looks beautiful
How do you finish this design? Would you need to do a reverse of the set up rows?
To do lattice in the round, how would you proceed with the wrong side/row2 ?
Was looking for something different for a blanket to make for my new grandson who will be here in November when I came across this! I was wondering what kind of border would you recommend?
Great! Hmmmm... I usually stick with either Garter or Seed Stitch borders. Have fun!
is there a way to do this on a circular knitting machine?
Would this be worked the same way on circular needles?
Hi i'm a beginner in knitting, is there a difference if I do this stitch on a loom?
the website gives different instructions (CO 6 vs 12) ...it's basically the same thing but it's frustrating cuz one wants to follow along exactly.
Can you teach lattice seed stitch
It seems fairly simple and straight-forward, but I simply cannot follow your video - not because there's anything wrong with the video or the way you did it, but because I grew up knitting with the yarn in my left hand. It's a completely different set of movements, and I wonder if there's something geographical in that.
The result looks lovely, though, and I will find some cheap yarn to try it on so I can get the logic - and then move on to the wool.
How do you cast off on this?
Is it possible to use your pattern for a scarf?
Seems on the back side you are knitting the knits and pulling the curls.
J'aurais compris avec des explications en français
How do I know the right side and the wrong side? I added some more rows before now wanting to add the lattice cable stitch. and yes, I am a rookie! lol
This video should help: ruclips.net/video/2ydfl5i8r2Y/видео.html
For this pattern, the right side is the lattice pattern. The wrong side looks like wavy vertical lines.
How would you knit this in the round for a hat?
Hi, Aurora - I have the written instructions to knit this in the round on my website here www.studioknitsf.com/lattice-cable/
