I am a beginner knitter, and I love how you make this process sound easy. Perhaps I will try it out in a bit (also I was like “is that a malabrigo yarn in English rose” when you showed it cuz I got some in my first outing at a Lys. Very lovely yarn and I love it, but probably shouldn’t have gotten it as a beginner.)
Hey really helpful video, just went into your sites page for this specific swatch pattern. I just noticed there seems to be a typo in the row eleven step, it says at the end 'finally P6, K4 to finish the row', where the P6 is supposed to be a P5, I worry this might confuse some people... Really awesome tutorial tho thanks !! :D
WOW! You made it seem so easy, so I tried it, and it IS easy! I am already working on a Harry Potter scarf set in green and silver (Slytherin) for a Christmas gift. Thus far it is coming along nicely.
I love Malabrigo yarn too! My husband told me what I wanted for my birthday and Christmas last year and I told him I wanted yarn. I think I spent about $300-$400 and I’m not sorry. He said that okay he didn’t mind as long as I was happy with that. This year we will celebrate 39 years of marriage 😍. I got a good one and a keeper.
I do just for fun something different than work. Especially winter time in cosy evenings and night. I like to do knitting whenyi don't feel to watch any film TV Internet.. This is good hobby I figured out in my late 40s. I learnt a big during my teeny
Ik this comment is old but if you go to her website in the block "ways to support this channel" and then search "swatch" on the website you should find it
I found using a dpn much easier at the start precisely because it's so long. I was able to just easily hold it alongside my working needle in the left hand and because it's long I didn't have to worry about the stitches slipping off either end.
Hi, can I get a link to your cable knit hats you show in the video please? I like yours better than the one I picked out on Ravelry. It looks easier to do and prettier. Thank you for your excellent video. Jen
Thank you so much! I’ve wanted to try cables but was intimidated. I tried your swatch and it was so easy to do, I’m in shock! Could you do a video on short rows next? Thanks for initially teaching me and continuing to teach me how to knit!!
I’m so glad it helped! I felt the same way you did about cables, and simply couldn’t believe how easy it was when I tried it. I LOVE the idea of making a short rows video! That’s going on the list for sure. Thanks for the suggestion!
Everything I am reading online about cable patterns say that the # in the abbreviations is NOT exactly how many to slip on cable needle. I’m so confused 😢 (PS I love your video and made my first swatch! Just trying to read new patterns now)
I’m running into the same issue! All the ones I’m seeing is that C4F is to slip 2 stitches on your cable needle, not 4. I’m going to trust what the pattern I’m following it says which is to slip 2 and then knit 2 for the cable. Fingers crossed it’s correct!
At 7:40 in the video you say that the cable you demonstrated is c4f, that’s not correct. It would be c8f 🤔 or am I wrong? C4F would be 2sts to cable needle, hold in front, k2 then knit 2 off cable needle…
You can find them here : bit.ly/3pie51y This is the full written guide so just scroll down below the information and you'll see the swatch instructions heading :)
I was always intimidated by cables but once I decided to just give it a try I now can’t stop.
Hi Brittany! You exclusively taught me how to crochet almost 10 years ago. THANK YOU! It's very cool to see you have a knitting channel too!
Started 2 days ago. Time to jump into advanced patters >:)
Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial!
Hows your knitting journey going :D
Watched several videos to try and understand cable knitting. This is by far the best video explanation for me. ❤ thank you
This was the easiest tutorial on cables I have found so far! Thank you

I love your explanations….clear and easy to follow…..from a beginner it’s important ❤
I did cable when I was 14, but I'm trying a new project and this was exactly the refresher I needed. SUBSCRIBED.
Who else is using a spare knitting needle?
I use a spare or a paper clip haha
@SophiaHuey-cm2pb I am a double ended one, because my cable needles packed away somewhere!?
I just used a random dpn I have lying about (:
I'm using a chopstick lmao

could you tell me where to find the swatch pattern please? I am looking under the video in description but cant find it. Thank you!
What size is the swatch in video? Size needles? I need a 4 inch square swatch for a class project. Thanks for help..
This is more a video about needles, but back to cables, what to do over the next rows?
Also... combination knitting integrated into the cables really help tighten up the stitches.
Video when I go to buy the cable needle do of course I get the same size needle that I’m knitting with. I am new, so excuse the stupid question. 0:23
I really want to learn how to knit mittens. And a hat with the ear flaps and braids down the sides. Also, how to attach a label on the hats.
This was very useful! tysm 😊✨
I think the written swatch pattern isn’t in the description, unless I’m missing it? Help lol
Hey went on the website and the mug cozy isn’t there anymore
I don’t find the Amazon link below for the cable needle you prefer??
Very easy!!!!!❤️
