Well, l will show them! l have always had a love for art & l noticed many others do too but they seem to lack the will/knowledge to actually do it & 4 some reason it comes to me naturally.

My friend Jaliana put it perfectly. "The music game will continue, regardless of your decision to make music or not. A bird, does not stop its song, because different types of birds sing differently." This hit me more than ever, and it made me realize, that after 15 years, it really isn't about the money anymore, it's about finding my voice, and singing my song.

I'll be 59 in December, God willing and life lasts. Between age 16 and 21, guitar was basically all I did and all I thought about. At 22, I graduated from college (with a poli-sci degree) and actually put my guitar away to be an "adult with a real job..." and proceeded to, truthfully, spend the next quarter-century in a series of corporate jobs that never "grabbed" me and eventually went left. So now, I'm physically (and psychologically, combat vet) busted up and need a career change and some little voice says, "Grow up. Start a BAND." You could say I'm back to Square One. I don't have any "illusions" about superstardom but there's just nothing else I'd rather do. An electric guitar is a holy object to me, a loud distorted power chord is the thunder of the gods to me...crazy as that might sound. FTR, I'd make a much better politician only I just don't want to get THAT dirty, LOL. Maybe I'll split the difference and become the Oldest Punk Rocker in the World...

My entire life I’ve seen awful things in my bloodline like alcolohism, drug abuse, domestic abuse, and just ugly people(ugly character, not saying they look ugly). When i was given my guitar from my tata, i practiced on and off until i realized that music is a fun and magical tool that can unite people and also influence their action. And with music i want to spread a message, i want people to not be afraid of self reflection, to not be afraid to change a bad behavior, I dream of a world where everyone has “killed their ego” i like to say, as in stop thinking about yourself all the time, cause sometimes you gotta just take a step back, calm down, and examine the big picture of us all on this planet, and then take a hard look at yourself and ask if your contributing to the worlds nastiness. I truly believe ANYONE can change, and it is NEVER EVER too late to do so. And for the people that are doing good already, i just hope they enjoy my music and have a good time livin!
P.s i havent started posting music yet, as im in my “training phase” on guitar, and grinding to be able to make the music i want to. but with time i shall be magnificent…..

Music is how I process the world. I've been writing songs since elementary school, and if I ever lose the ability/time/finances to record my music professionally, I still know I'll be writing songs for the rest of my life. In the future, I hope and believe that I will be content if my only audience is my family, sitting around the family while we share new songs on acoustic guitar for each other and help one another process the world; but in these years while I still don't have children, I'm working hard to use my time and resources toward entertaining, encouraging, and edifying as many people as I can reach through the songs I record.

Words of wisdom from the Oracle Adam Ivy as always. Me personally, if I can evoke an emotional reaction upon someone with my music, then that is worth far more than any likes, follows, etc.
    It simply cannot be priced.
Would I take fame and $5million but be completely fickle and cause no emotion or take a living wage yet evoke emotion's to many, I would choose the latter. You can say "bull" but it is true.

I started learning to play guitar, bass, piano, and drums when i was 10. I took it very seriously until i was 17 and got into cocaine and heroin. I still played through my addiction but never did anything with it, but the passion was still there. I'm 33 now and have been clean for 5 years. In those 5 years i've been scrambling to make up for lost time. The fire that drove me to make music has been burning full force. Bought new recording gear, computers, amps, and instruments and have spent an insane amount of time learning to record and produce my music. I don't have a following and my friends and family don't see making music as a career option. They're content with me breaking my back roofing houses than to be supportive of my music. At the end of the day, i make music for me. If anyone listens, thats up to them. 100 followers or 10 million followers, I'm still going to make music.

I cannot express how much I love music like love music where I start to see notes around me where I can compare colours with music notes which helps me make my music as well.
But my main point is I want to succeed in music career because I love to see people happy. What I mean by that is I love to help people a lot and I didn't know like a way to help everyone and that's why I started making music I use a lot of metaphors in my music so people can relate to it but at the same time make people realize that nobody is worthless... Sounds a bit dumb I know but that's somewhat my passion about music and why I want to succeed.
Music is just my life that's all and I'm glad I discovered it 😁 and also thank you for the tips
Example of metaphors are in my main song do you still love me is put as love song but the song is actually about accepting yourself

I make music and art ultimately because it's therapeutic; it helps me organize my thoughts and feelings so I can make sense of the world and my place in it. I also have a visceral drive to write music that's difficult to explain. To be honest, at times it's felt like a curse, but over the years I've learned it's quite the blessing, as there's a lot of people out there who never figure out what to do with themselves. I'm blessed to have something engaging and challenging to throw myself into, regardless of whether or not I ever receive any monetary reward from it. That being said, I'd like to be more financially successful at it just so that I can devote more time and energy to the craft and process without the distractions and time-suck of the 9-5.

Very true! Understanding my WHY actually caused me to step back and realise that my reasons for making music were actually very selfish. I find music and the creation of music to be therapeutic. I really don't care if anybody else likes it but if they do then that's great too 😄
My biggest take away after understanding my why was to question the end goal, what you called the "purpose". I personally believe that we all have a purpose and a gift. Once you learn what this is, and combine that with your skills (making music is a skill I acquired) and use your natural talent (creativity in my case), you can then be better placed to fulfill your purpose. If you can combine the things you enjoy with your purpose you'll be on your way to creating a very fulfilling life.

I think 99% of people have never experienced doing something they enjoyed so much they forgot to eat or sleep or use the bathroom. Music has done this to me on a constant basis. Anyway, you said so much stuff that I feel and experience regularly but never heard another person say quite this way. I have friends that always tell me to do web/graphic design or other computer work because they know I am good with these things but it was only because I wanted to get something and had no one to do it for me. I learned graphics and web for both my music and financial stability on the side of my music. The answer to your question for me is music. But I will say like you said, with every year your perspective changes and one realization I had was I didn’t want to live forever broke, I had to figure out how to make a living with what I love, how to thrive not just survive.

So I was a dedicated gamer all my life then I suddenly realized after being trough a rough time how unproductive gaming was . I was just using it for a distraction. So I knew I loved House music and well I said I'm going to try it and I fell in love instantly not only was I being distracted from the real world while I was creating I would always have somthing to show after where as a video game you don't . 😉

I been gaming since 4 years old. I too came to that realization. However, I genuinely loved games. I did cut alot of gaming hours off and I do believe to a point it does waste time. So what I did is mix both things I love which was gaming and making music. The sad thing is, ngl, the average gamers waste alot of time. Like getting stuck grinding a game for years but never really get anything off it.

This doesn’t come easy. It doesn’t happen overnight. It takes money to make money. Nothing about this business comes for free. Some people learn how to do this. Some people were made to do this. If you write music for the money, just stop now. You will encounter tremendous setbacks and failures. Just be prepared. So either you have what it takes, or you don’t. Don’t let anyone justify what success means to you. Have fun and enjoy the ride 🏴‍☠️🎶

I just don't see myself working in something else that's not related to music or gaming, im a big gamer, love to play videogames, but i also love to make music, sometimes i forgot to eat or i just stay all night long making music or playing videogames, but one thing, im sick of trap beats, i love to make trap beats, they're so fun to make, but rn, im so tired to make the same beat always, and I've been trying to make something new like More type of disco, funky pop beats, and it feels like the first time i started making music, cus is something new for me, and it's a little bit frustrating because of the creative process, but for real, making music it's something i enjoy, and i definitely want to keep making music and start being more versatile and creative.

I love music I have never left music's side Like it's never left mine. I did my first freestyle at 9 years old. I raised myself in the streets mom and dad was with me here and there. I started making really gangster music at first but decided to be more versatile and not follow , but lead In my craft ( because everyone I was associated with would Rap a certain way ) I wanted to have my own out Look of my music not just sticking to "one style"
Locked up rain snow shine either writing or freestyling music I remember being on my bunk all night writing music to melodies in my head
Till breakfast ( being locked up sucks by the way not glorifying it what so ever ) my plan was never to show off my craft to keep it to myself and just keep living the same lifestyle untill I died ( so many close calls life I was leading was a great chance of danger! ) without showing my music off I was practicing 6 to 8 hours a day religiously but I got a awakening one day with covid that what if I died and couldn't leave nothing for my daughter that can make sure she is good along with family close friends.
So I decided to get in music full blast
And show myself I haven't been active on social media for 9 years. The only people I knew was gangmembers it seemed like. So I'm getting used to how everything works. I don't know what's real or fake bots to even have legitimate convo with. Lol that's my why and my story appreciate the videos they help me alot in these trouble times with that said
I hope you n your loved ones are healthy and living at peace ✌ -cashnova-

Adam tell me if my story resonates with you I been playing guitar since I was 5 really. I started a a band in my teens been live and lost amazing bands been on tours and mad lots of money but on the side because counting on the other people has always been A problem so I started a career in the construction industry and am now retiring and I have just started full time music career by myself. Obviously
So heres the thing my guitar practically never leaves my hands I never sat and tried to practice to be amazing or better than anyone I play guitar for me its actually saved my life And is my counselor it's my everything in my life it's who I turn to when I need to talk to somebody you know I'm saying well the thing is is I'm actually just talented and I am also my own cup of tea and I never have really tried to just push myself on to other people with the music because it's my passion my go to it soothes my soul , I just want to get my music out there because people have told me over the years to do it but thats the hard part I always had other people do that through the years but now Im solo it just doesn't feel right to me. Hell I've had thousands of people show up to my shows but then now I start a channel and start doing my music and I get 25 subscribers which is like ridiculous so it's like I don't know I really couldn't explain it I mean unless I'm hearing something totally different than everybody else's I don't know you tell me but on the other end I feel like I don't want to be in the industry where everything is fake you know everybody's loves my music because I've had these flaws like beauty in chaos and I mean like people just try to stay in the box and I was always playing outside the box. Now that Im trying to be in society's perfection norm playing in this pentatonic and exact notes its made me someone who im not in the fear of being judged by the norm, So Lost all my followers. I would love to hear your thoughts on this

The problem, albeit natural, is that everyone wants to be rockstars these days rather than musicians. What does your music career failing mean to you? If it's being super rich and famous yeah you'll most probably fail. You can sell music stems and make a pretty decent living doing what you love for example. Or you can be a part of a band, teach music etc. ''Music career'' is bigger than being a Rockstar.
