Very well done review. Thank you for the liquid testing. Because just going by what the manufacturer said in their labeling could have had super bad consequences if a person were to put soup in it and put it in their lunch bag or backpack and gotten to wrk and had a mess in their vehicle or on them, let alone any electronics that might have gotten wet. But just having that fault shouldn’t preclude someone from purchasing this item, because overall it appears to be very functional. And yes……..using it in an office environment is a sensational purpose. It sure beats using a paper towel to catch crumbs and such. And being an owner of a few UCO switches, the utensils are very useful in the office. I keep a set in my desk at wrk. I find clean-up very satisfactory and this mess kit looks to be also. So it will definitely be on my shopping list in the near future. Thank you once again for the very thorough and informative review.
They can sing that waterproof song all they want but ya boy here would be using that as a "bug cover" to keep extra protein from trying to eat my gumbo outdoors. 😂
@choossuck7653 Thats a hard decision to make as they both have pros and cons. The UCO comes with a knife and the LMF doesn't. But usually you have a knife if your camping. The LMF has a cover for the cup and the UCO doesn't. The LMF comes with a cutting board the UCO doesn't. But you could easily add one to the UCO. The LMF has Tupperware like containers and the UCO doesn't. But you can find and add some to the UCO if that's important to you. So at the end of the day it comes down to what is important to you and what features you think you will need and use. Just remember that you can always add things to your kit. Your only as limited as you let yourself be. Sorry I could not offer more insight. Thanks for the comment and views hope you stick around.
There may of been some mold release agent still on it from the injection molding process. Once that is all washed off the surface it would change the surface tension of it where water is concerned. At least that's what I think.
Is that a silicone o ring around that lid? On my screen the rim of the lid looks a little lighter color as if there is a clear silicone seal. That's a perfect dish for chili.
Great review, buddy!! Thanks for going all in with the details and tests!
No problem 👍

Same, for me that's a great feature here as the bugs are out in FORCE!
Was $20 the other day. Now $22. Im debating between this one and light my fire set for $20. IDK. I just need one with a cup.

I noticed when I got mine and cleaned it the water didn’t stick in big drops and I was able to dry it with a single paper towel

Ok, thanks

Yes that is a silicone ring. Sorry I didn't point that out. And your right would be awesome for Chili!
The only improvement that I might want is a sip through lid for the cup to keep coffee warm. Peace
Now that is a great idea!
