I'm waiting in the wings to pick one up. So, great video. I live near Barcelona. My main worry is if the mechanics get the right info and know how to fix the problems. BSA in Spain is sold through Peugeot scooter network, and the mechanic I talked to after the test ride knew about the stalling issues but didn't seem clued up about the Campaign or the bike and said he got info and videos sent from Madrid. Not very encouraging 🤷♂️
Hi Alex you have got it wrong on the stator bolts it’s the six rotor bolts that are replaced not the 3 that hold the stator to the case. Also the immobiliser is not positioned inside the box you pointed at. The is in-fact under the head stock and has more work than you mentioned as you have to move the radiator to access the immobiliser, Last in the head light theres a red connector that has to have free play on the wires especially when you turn left as this pulls on the wiring loom, possibly braking some wires!!! Oh and buy the way you do get a bandana and a badge along key ring and not forgetting a cleaning kit.

Many years ago I worked as a fitter, installing wiring looms and ABS units on HGV trailers (Montracon) Every cable we passed through metal always had a rubber grommet fitted. It's basic stuff, done for obvious reasons. Is it cost cutting or incompetence that they didn't fit them on the BSA?
I am unsure. Could be anything from the parts nto being available to then just not bothering to fit them. Its odd. Somebody knew and didnt do anything about it.
I nearly ordered and bought one of these bikes. I had second thoughts and waited to see what would happen with warranty repairs and recalls etc. I'm glad that I didn't get one.

I bought one used from Eddymoto at Tadcaster, the health check had been done and the bike runs perfect. I can understand why the health check doesn’t count as a service, to remove those covers etc you would need to drain the oil, and you don’t put old oil back in. I can recall the largest firm, Honda, recalling bikes because of issues and faults that were unexpected needing repairs, BMW cars and bikes are having issues but they cost a lot more than my BSA. I waited for a while so issues were being sorted and yes I’m glad I bought it.
Back in the day of the British Bike it seems it was common practice for owners to trial test new models...seems that practice is still alive and well in some quarters
Thanks for a really informative video. I have a 2024 Shadow Black edition so the recall work was done before sale. My dealer even gave me a free oil and filter change at the first service because BSA had inadvertently sent me the recall letter. Mine now has around 1,400 miles on it and is an absolute joy to ride. I really hope you get your bike sorted as my experience with the bike, my dealer, and BSA has been fantastic so far. By the way, have you been following the new Triumph 400 forums? Some of them seem to be a nightmare too unfortunately, but it doesn't seem like Triumph are doing much about it.

Yes I have seen the Triumph forums and everyone’s really nice to each other, on the BSA ones some Toxic people, it’s quite a contrast. I did see a video last night where a BSA owner said he didn’t receive an oil filter as part of the recall, which confirms my suspicions that owners are thinking it’s an”service” I suspect next year if they try to achieve a warranty claim, they’ll be told they skipped a service and warranty invalid. It’s a bit of a minefield with information, so I thought I’d do this video to educate. Yo!
I have a 2022 Bsa Gold Star 650 Legacy Edition, it has only covered 142 miles from new and hasn't had it's first service yet. Do you know if the health check will be done on my machine when the first service is performed? Thank you.

But I’d suggest you get your motorcycle booked in for the “Health Check” as BSA will at some point withdraw the Health Check once enough bikes are through. So get in soon before this opportunity ends, given how complex it is. Might cost you £££ next year
I've received nothing from BSA about these checks so I spoke to my original distributor, now ex distributor and he told me that BSA are marketing it has upgrading the 23 bikes to 24 spec. In fact what their doing ìs giving your bike a heath check to make sure that several of the initial faults didn't affect your 23 bike. The only difference between the two is that 24 bikes have had these checks.
@@ianhalliwell8604 I did a video on these checks. Incorrectly torqued clutch basked nuts, incorrect length stator bolts and more. Its engine cases off! They missed the stretched loom faults though which are still occurring. Yeah, BSA don’t communicate unless you’re on RUclips singing their praises. Then it’s all freebies and shared social posts. anything less and you area second class citizen
@@ianhalliwell8604 hi when you checked your bolts were they black in colour (if so correct) plus the torque setting for these is 38 nm, plus the clutch nut has a torque setting of 170 nm. The stator nut is 220nm. And all the casing bolts are 11 nm with loctite on them.
Used my free BSA snood for the first time todayI, good quality👍. I think the charging system might be checked too. Anyone has that confirmed? Perhaps you could ask Mr Tingle when you get yours done.
very surprised at these issues, that engine has been around for around 20 years at least in BMW's, Husqvarna's and a few others, you would think it was well sorted by now or have BSA used inferior grade materials.

Been in contact with Lukas Distribution and Yesterday they offered to update my details on their system and to deal directly with the local dealership rather than them, that’s after they asked me to contact them about the fault, which I gave them a video of. They did confirm one thing, that the seller may have lied about the bike being recalled. Which was an absolute shock. Not that this recallx Sorry “health check” addresses any of my motorcycles faults. Next video shows day three of ownership… oh it’s a 4.5 mile walk to reach home 🏠 yep, I’m bringing a dead bike to the health check. Can things get better or worse from this point on?

People are allowed their opinion, myself included. I stayed away for 1.5 years then bought into the brand only to have my bike for three days. I watched a die hard BSA influencer break down a few weeks ago and you all did the same, shunned him into keeping quiet. Now where is he? He’s lovely and quiet like a naughty school boy. My next video will be revealing and the follow up will be worth comparing with your bike as it shows a manufacturing defect that you can check before it happens to you. Wait till you see the inspection video to prove the fault. Today I’m off to two local dealers to see if the bikes there have the same defect. It’s not even obvious until you know what to look for. So less of the “I’m alright Jack” and more of the learning, should karma befall you.
@@markjones_007 Well, actually no, it doesn't apply to all manufacturers. I've bought Honda after Honda after Honda over the years and have never, not once, had this type of nonsense. Hi Alex called into the bsa dealer in northern Ireland this morning Evolution motor works have to day,at 70 yrs old I have never been treated the way I was by the owner manus he was verbal aggressive and told me he was to busy to sort out any problems the last dealer had caused ????? Something about paper work he got worse when I told him I had bought it s/h from another dealer tore into me because I contacted lukas about engine bars I got from them I have been left shaken by the incident is this bsa customer are in action
@@SamWaide-t6r I am so sorry to read this, what an awful experience for you. Yeah, I’m seeing cross-dealer warranty repairs being a big no-no. As the dealers can’t get remunerated from Lukas for this. Either way, there’s no need to treat you like this. You’re a customer asking for help, a fellow biker.
The oils filter on this engine isn’t super easy to get to, and you have an oil tank and then oil in the engine. It’s just the joys of a dry sump design. I did my CB750 recently and similar system, whizzed through it. I saw a video yesterday where the BSA owner said he did not get a new oil filter, which is concerning, who does an oil change without the filter? Unless, it’s not seen as a service as I suspected. Some owners are about to find out warranty is invalid next year for missing a service schedule.
I feel sorry for you. I understand you bought it with your hard earned money but why didn't you first research. BSA is owned my Mahindra company and they have already failed twice in two wheeler market. Good luck with your bike 😊

Turns out they were sugar coating, two have already talked to me about ongoing faults yet on the RUclips they say the bikes are good. Why are people selling a new bike after a year??? Ever heard of a good test ride or doing proper background research? BSA owners who paid more than you are probably angry because it makes them look like wallies. Ripped off on price and embarrassed to be seen riding a lemon. My newest bikes are late 80s big Japanese plus old Brits. Love them all, ridden long and frequently too, not a 12 month spur of the moment novelty. Anyone who buys a bike and is worried about depreciation better off getting into bingo or pocket billiards etc.

Any first service work is the dealers responsibility. What do you care as long as it's done correctly. Thanks for letting us know the coolant issue was only a loose clamp. You do a lot of needless complaining. And the instances of completely bad units is practically nil. Maybe you got a unit from your dealer that was not properly prepped. Your experience certainly is not the majority.

I disagree Joe. I find the videos tell it as it is, and the issues are widespread and have been recognised by BSA. Why defend BSA anyway? It's just a company that makes bikes that's going to improve them over time.
BSA make RE look like BMW. Shoddy at the design stage, shoddy at manufacturing and shoddy by all accounts in after sales. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Good luck with your bike

@@andrewdavies3438 A loose clip but I’ll let the dealer go right over it. I’ve an even more concerning issue which I’m just editing. Plus fault finding, so owners can see what to look for incase their bikes are affected.
@@baccas66 My 70’s CB 750 is cleaner. Anyways, there’s more to come, I did deeper and do some investigating on a fault, wait till you see what the supplying dealer can do with a soldering iron.
Don't know why BSA refer to a magneto, they are not fitted to any engine with coil ignition. It's a stator like an alternator.
It’s a bit of fun I suspect. The only fun thing I’ve found in their literature so far.

Even the cheapest model 350j series seems better put together and definitely doesn't have any issues like the BSA .

Yes, they remove your stator and replace the mounting bolts X3. I love good quality motorcycle gear, glad the snood is top quality!

Your loss. The bike is fantastic. The majority of owners absolutely love it. There's always issues with a new bike, it applies to all manufacturers.

I've never seen a light without a grommet round the wires before. Even Chinese bikes have that. 🤦

@@joetocchio9666 This is the attitude I meet the most. These videos are my ownership experience, and everyone’s looking for the “gotcha” comments without knowing the full picture. I might screen shot this comment as in my next video you “needless complaining” might just become the title.
I disagree Joe. I find the videos tell it as it is, and the issues are widespread and have been recognised by BSA. Why defend BSA anyway? It's just a company that makes bikes that's going to improve them over time.
BSA make RE look like BMW. Shoddy at the design stage, shoddy at manufacturing and shoddy by all accounts in after sales. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Good luck with your bike

@@paulsire you should see the grief I’m getting behind the scenes. BSA owners saying I’m just dissing the brand. Nobody buys a bike to diss a brand! It’s my money and I bought right. But the grief I’m getting is HUGE. I went into this looking forward to ownership. Luckily I’m tenacious…

@@andrewdavies3438 A loose clip but I’ll let the dealer go right over it. I’ve an even more concerning issue which I’m just editing. Plus fault finding, so owners can see what to look for incase their bikes are affected.

@@baccas66 My 70’s CB 750 is cleaner. Anyways, there’s more to come, I did deeper and do some investigating on a fault, wait till you see what the supplying dealer can do with a soldering iron.
