A couple of months before she died I had a short conversation with Janis. She was approachable, engaging, friendly and humorous. I think you can see it in her performances. Many times I've looked back on that night. I was totally shocked when I heard she died. RIP
@@dggydddy59 She asked if they forgot anyone? And I said "me". She laughed and said "who are you?" I told her my name and she said, "You sound like a wise guy". I responded "more like a smart ass". We laughed, then she had to leave.
remember when this was live on the Tom Jones show my mom loved him and Janis too like we all did . when they did this duet my whole family was up and dancing jumping up and down in the living room except for my dad who just sat drinking his beer laughing and enjoying the whole scene .those were great times a very special time, i really miss those days.
A powerful song by Tom Jones I’ll Never Fall In Love Again. Janis Joplin was a phenomenal singer and performer. Sir Tom Jones is amazing and of course that Welsh voice 👍👍. Cheers.
That's a natural performance from Janis Joplin, but Tom Jones definitely met her on that level! This is from his TV show in 1969 called This is Tom Jones.
Janis Joplin was a singing dynamo! We're blessed to have live performances recorded of her. And Tom Jones... well I think everyone (Carlton Banks) knows who he is. I recently had "Be Thankful For What You've Got" a live performance video by Sade, pop up on my phone. What a wonderful listening experience that is. The song was written and performed by William DeVaughn, and released in 1974. When I hear a exemplary song, I like to tell everyone about it.
Wow yeah, great one. Add me to the list of first-timers in seeing this. Must be from Tom Jones’s tv show (??). He did a track I think Long Time Gone with CSN (or CSNY?) on his show that was also an unexpected pairing and also awesome. Great request, great reaction, Angela!
Glad to see you smiling and feeling better Angela. Taken from us far too early Janis Joplin, and Sir Tom can soul it out with best, cause, well he is one of the best. He did a grreat duet medley with Stevie Wonder, please check that out Angela. They are great friends and Stevie suprised Tom on the UK edition of the voice for his 80th birthday. There is a clip of that on youtube somewhere and it is the coolest and sweetest reaction from Tom..... so suprised. Tom also did a medley on his show with Wilson Pickett which is also just fire, check that out too. Luv.
Tom Jones was big on stage dancing and showing off. Ladies Man in Las Vegas. Girls heart throb. Janis and Tom. Didn’t know they sang together 😅 they are really getting down Peace Love And Headbands Lovebeads
Check out the Tom Jones performance videos of "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," "Treat her Right" (he does some serious dancing), "Delilah," and/or "She's a Lady."
Janis showing off her power, and Jones showing off his also impressive chops. Next up, Tom & Little Richard. Rather than whole medley, Good Golly Miss Molly would suffice. Tom Jones Show was very entertaining collection of musicians.
Great reaction. Check out Tom Jones covers of Leonard Cohen's "Tower of Song", and Bob Dylan's "What Good Am I" and "When The Deal Goes Down". And also check out the official video of Bob Dylan "When The Deal Goes Down". Thanks.
Saw Tom Jones a few years ago at the Hollywood Bowl. He was opening for Van Morrison. He was awesome and his voice has barely suffered. Now he sings mostly blues and gospel. I highly recommend his album Praise and Blame and the song Burning Hell, a John Lee Hooker song. ruclips.net/video/qIO8z4yOA8w/видео.html
Legend and legendary. I like the song but if it weren't for Janis this would have zero soul. Tom Jones was Uber talented but oozed as much soul and funk as Kenny G. This was one of those parings that was so one sided.
es la primera vez que te veo .tampoco se como te llamas , pero si se , que haces daño a la musica, porque no he mirado ni un segundo al pobre de tom y janis .🙂😉

Wow! What did you talk about?

@@richardmartin9565 Damn, what a cool memory to have! Cheers!
What a couple of vocal powerhouses!! I'm so glad they were able to perform together so we can still enjoy the song today!

A great one time only for TV, performance. I think they go great together.

Two of the greatest voices of all time.
Two powerhouses... one stage...WOW!

I'm old enough to remember watching this on his show, she was having a blast and so was he. Brought back some memories!
Janis and Tom....two giants of music history
Sir Tom is a national treasure not only in his home country of Wales, but to the rest of the UK ❤❤❤🇬🇧🤗
Great!!! 😃😃😃 the best today! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍😍😍
I LOVE YOU JANIS!
They don’t make legend’s like that anymore!!
Thank you for this Angela! I hope you get better soon.
And how about those late 1960s background dances! GROOVY MAN!
Thx! Yes please hear “I’ll never fall in love!” I wouldn’t want you to miss out on a gem, a jewel, a treasure you will never lose or forget!
If you don't know be by now Simple Red, you said you wanted more of his music. Very talented Artist Angela. Hope you are feeling better.

You need to send her a link otherwise I don't think she will look for it.
You have to listen to Tom Jones: “I’ll never fall in love again” and “I who have nothing”.
When I was a kid my mother watched Tom Jones Show and I remember my old man jealous and mad asf 😡😂
I love your work
Life is so strange, Janis left us so early and Tom is still kicking it strong.
Never heard this…. Damn that was awesome thank you! Check out “If I only knew “ by Tom Jones
Well that was a lot of energy, I'm going to have to lie down for a while.
Fun.
Janis
Check out Tom Jones "I'll Never Fall in Love Again." You won't forget it!
You should listen to Tom Jones singing "I'll never fall in love again" I think that you'll like it.
Senatra of Wales he's so Great. Delilah is my favorite
Janis showing off her power, and Jones showing off his also impressive chops. Next up, Tom & Little Richard. Rather than whole medley, Good Golly Miss Molly would suffice. Tom Jones Show was very entertaining collection of musicians.
Hi Angela, another good song that I think you would like is "I'll be right here waiting for you" by Richard Marx
Now that is an odd couple but it works.
Great reaction. Check out Tom Jones covers of Leonard Cohen's "Tower of Song", and Bob Dylan's "What Good Am I" and "When The Deal Goes Down". And also check out the official video of Bob Dylan "When The Deal Goes Down". Thanks.
Janis Joplin can fart and blow you off the stage. That is pure talent.

That must be a BBC production, because it wasn't from Ed Sullivan's show!
That's awesome. Never seen it before! Fuckin A!
He used to have his own weekly TV show here in the US, this is from that.
I'll take your word for it, but I don't remember the The Tom Jones show. Maybe I was watching the Roy Clark Hour at that time.
It was from Tom's television special "This is Tom Jones" from the late 60s.
@@J3scribe I think actually Porter Waggoner's show was on at the same time. Lol! Cheers!
Angela 💕 giggles, when are you going to do Tom Jones What New Pussycat 🤔🙄???
Yeah, some of the songs with TJ singing with Joplin and others are a bit cringy, but this one kinda works
One of the few times Tom got out souled by another singer.
Lol check out sex bomb by Tom jones!!!
Hiroshima "Save Yourself For Me"
Tom Jones was great in this, but he just could not match Janis.
Legend and legendary. I like the song but if it weren't for Janis this would have zero soul.
