I think the very best Janis ever did was her rendition of "Me & Bobby McGee" - just great. My favorites from Tom Jones are just too numerous to mention. I'm happy he's still with us but I do miss Janis a lot.

Love this! Tom Jones had a variety show from 69 - 71 & had some of the biggest music stars at the time. Love seeing these two great legends singing together. Tom Jones has a powerful voice but Janis could keep up with him easily. Tom has so many hits such as "It's Not Unusual", "What's New Pussycat?", "Green, Green Grass Of Home", "Delilah", "She's A Lady" etc.

I have to comment on how gorgeous Tom Jones was and always has been. Tom gave some pretty raw performances on his own. The ladies went WILD for him. His voice has always be a cut WAY above. Tom become a dear friend of Elvis. You may or may not know that later on in both their careers the were both staples in Vegas and they became close then.

A very rare occurrence as Janice did not like to appear on TV Shows. RIP Janice Joplin she was a member of the ‘27 Club which featured Brian Jones ( the founder of the Rolling Stones, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Amy Winehouse, all of whom died at the age of 27 years old. 😢

Tom is a very smart singer he has performed many duets. He's also not selfish.
He let's the other singer do what they are best at, he's not even scared to let them have much of the limelight. He was famous for that even on his own TV show. He creates a contrast. Usually you want that in a good duet.

You should check out Tom & Aretha Franklin performing a medley of her songs. By the way, the video opens with her singing a hit of his from the 60s, It's not Unusual. Another rec of his? Thunderbolt, his original recording of the title song for the James Bond film. The final note he belted actually ended up with him fainting at the recording studio.😁

I love Tom. Him and Elvis were good friends. They sang each others songs. When Elvis sang another artist's song I felt like his version was the best. My Way, Bridge Over Troubled Water, You've Lost That Loving Feeling, Something, Blue Suede Shoes, This Time The Girl Is Going to Stay. But when Elvis sang Tom's songs like Green Green Grass of Home etc Tom's version was better. Tom and Elvis both went to those full body leather suits which were very hot to wear.

You've never heard Tom let it go....it's fierce!
Besides, Tom always had this respect thing with a duo, that he'd never out sing his guests or the other person....he'd always let them take lead, and he would fill to accompany them.
Try listening to Tom singing 'Without Love'

Probably one of the most unusual musical pairings at the time. Janis was a wild child whose energy was unbridled and free flowing. If you watch closely you can see Tom was put to task in keeping up with Janis during this performance. However he did rise to the occasion doig his personal best to match her energy. This is entertainment!

    Guys,
    TOM JONES RECOMMENDATION…
    “SEX BOMB”
…Duet in 2020 with German singer Helene Fischer, on the Helene Fischer TV show.
(I don’t think a lot of folks are familiar with this/I don’t see others recommending it, maybe because it’s from a non-English-language show?)
…I’m absolutely OBSESSED with this performance, it is UTTERLY. FANTASTIC! (I’ve watched the video SO MANY TIMES, I’m surprised I haven’t worn out my phone/tablet/laptop.😅)
This duet also made me a HUGE Helene Fischer fan!😍

The dancers were going crazy and from what I understand they had a fancy set and Jenna said no this isn't working for me and they tore it down and that's her band and she always had the most fabulous bands and the names were awesome always❤❤❤ she had an album called cheap thrills and it was amazing but back in those days the covers of albums were works of art and hers was no exception it was more cartoons type of drawings and it was supposedly acknowledged by the Hell's Angels❤❤❤ she was gone too soon she was too good for this world❤❤❤❤

GREAT review of 2 awesome show stoppers. Sometimes odd pairings works wonders. No need to do reaction videos .... more just for you to watch and enjoy if you like to watch some great collaborations. I included links when I could.
    - First off, take a look at Live At Daryl's House. (Any artist. Basically, Daryl Hall, of Hall & Oates, invites various musicians to his place to jam. The sessions are incredible.)
    - Bette Midler and Mick Jagger singing "Beast of Burden". (Ok, Jagger isn't singing, but he is in the video and its damned cool.) ruclips.net/video/zsqf-ORB37Q/видео.html
    - Tracy Chapman and Luciano Pavarotti singing "Baby Can I Hold You Tonight." ruclips.net/video/qQdnl0_IuRg/видео.html

God, I remember watching this on t v with my mom and two of my friends from high school live, back in what I think was 1970. My mom was a Tom Jones fanatic and she loved the end of all his variety shows when females would throw their panties up on stage. Believe me, she wanted to be one of those girls that throws their panties at him.
I thought Tom Jones was excellent and Janis the best that I ever heard.
As great as they both were. I was a bit disappointed in this particular performance.
