You don’t absolutely need a friend. You can only get 1 shiny though
Join the AJP's server, it's free, ask people in #shiny-raids-chat if they can help you farm your shiny mons, that's how i farmed my den 26 all shiny plants.
You don't need a friend. Save and make sure auto save is off before you go into raid, catch the pokemon, and then go to the bot, while trading it will not complete. So once you get the seed and know how far you have to go, you can restart your game and just start your skips

Easy but incredibly tedious unless you get lucky with either dudu bot or your shiny frame(or both if you have godly luck)

I’m just gonna stick with Masuda method shiny charm cause I can choose which shiny I’m hunting. I just recently got shiny Honedge that I evolved to Aegislash.

Tip: If you want to keep the pokemon in that den ( Like Charizard in my case ) save infront of the den after the g-max appears.

You actually did a fantastic job explaining this and how to do it as quickly as possible. Props to Blaine still for covering it thoroughly first but the sheer amount of videos he had to make on it clearly showed how unprepared anyone could've been for this. It's difficult to explain a fairly complicated process in a simple manner. Also the process has since gotten a lot easier and faster over time so the timing of this video was very opportunistic being right after we figured out the best method and way about doing this.

Thanks Austin! Worked the second time I tried! First time I messed up when doing the date skipping coz I had my menu open in the Pokemon center!
For those who made this same mistake, re-verify your den again (without saving) to check your seed, especially if you manage to get one like mine where the shiny frame was only 213 days away. Most likely you would have only advanced one day (frame), and you can simply reset the date back to 01/01/2020, go into a battle and then time travel again! Currently resetting for shiny Gmax Corviknight! :)

This worked flawlessly for me. I just did it for the first time today (a few minutes ago). I also was only 3 days away and was a little surprised. I've hatched a couple of shinies but this helps fill in some of the gaps of when shiny hunting. It doesn't take TOO long when you're actually doing it but seems longer than it actually is when watching it step by step in the video. I'm not sorry to admit I am selfish and simply caught the Pokemon and did not and will not be hosting a den. Haha. I'm just trying to slowly but surely build a shiny living dex of gen 8. Already have a normal living dex of gen 8, including the DLC. Thanks, Austin!

Sometimes I sit on the couch with my wife and we both play Sword and Shield for hours. I will just jump into den after den after den and I've managed to jump in on some shiny Gmax Pokemon and my wife got a shiny just trying to fill out her pokedex. I hate the idea of abusing exploits but I also love shiny Pokemon....

isaiah1516 I had a similar experience. I’ve done lots of shiny hunting, while my fiancé played let’s go pikachu and now sword and shield but much more casually. She was riding around the wild area the other day and ACCIDENTALLY ran into an over-world Beartic...and it was a full-odds square shiny. It was a very bittersweet moment for me haha.

it's technically a faster soft resetting but instead of praying to the RNGesus you KNOW how far away of a soft reset it would be. I think this exploit is neat. you can just soft reset the shiny mon for yourself and capture the mon on your switch without doing the trading exploits to maintain the exclusivity. Not sure why Austin glossed over this. I know it's kind to spread the shiny gifts to others by hosting, but you can just not bother with it and keep a shiny for yourself.
I figured it out recently through some research but this video is so detailed and shows you exactly what’s needed to do every step. I’m sure some newcomer will appreciate this so much so let me say thank you on everyone’s behalf! What a great vid :’)

Lots of setup, but way more payoff if you and a friend or two are at it for a couple hours. Not to mention you can catch like 20 shinies of one Pokémon and trade away 19 of them for other shinies you don’t have.

@@kosma1126 you can actually catch the shiny Pokemon. Regarding the date of capture (since you'd be advancing the date), I just reset the Switch's date to present day once I throw the Pokeball. You can actually save in front of the den once you roll the GMax mon you want. Play offline and catch it yourself

For my friend/second switch, do they have to have NSO? Or if I am hosting can I just do it locally with them?
If you're in the same physical space, yes, you can host locally without NSO.
I recently caught a shiny Gyarados in a random max raid with best in all IVs. I feel super lucky after watching this!

Clarification though- you definitely don't need to. Just make sure to skip the exact same amount of days you did before.
you saved 3 days before, right? so when you close the game it is like you are still back then. When you close, go to change the date back to the 3 days and restart everything

I have read some comments in the video of people having the same problem I had. I tried to reroll my shiny pokemon, but it didn't work. Until I found out I needed to save the game 3 frames before my shiny and not on the same frame as I did. Now I guess I will just have to catch that shiny lucario myself and start again. Has anybody noticed in sword and shield when you go anywhere there's 2 shadows that follow u around. If you go into a pokemon centre and don't move as soon as you enter you will see it, idk if it's just me but they look like pokemon

@Pedro Silva if you mean where start has a 0 and number of frames has 100 it’s means days. 0 will be the mon you caught to get the seed and then set the number from 100 to 10000. I hope this helped

There's also a program called **Seed Searcher** that is like a complicated IV checker.
But it can take hours of intense computer calculations to give you your seed. It's hands off, but your computer will not like you. And it can be faster to just use Dudubot. Then again, I've heard of many people giving up on Dudubot after hours of failure. It's the long sure thing vs the possibly short gamble
It took me like 4 hrs to get a seed for eevee i had to search like 2400 frames i gave up dudu ain't worth it unless your dedicated

What kind of calculations coming from a Pokémon game are going to bog down a computer for hours?
No you don’t have to be online to do the link battle glitch. I had it work with my wife locally. To start the link battle glitch you can also link with local player or your other switch if you have one and it still activates the glitch and doesn’t mess up anyone online with battles.

I’ve always been nervous about doing this glitch because there are so many complicated steps to it. Today I was confident enough and got some help and guidance from friends on Wooloo Farm and was able to host a shiny den! Took about 1-2 hours to set up, but it was SO worth it. In case you were wondering, I hosted den 65 (with stuff like Eevee, Wooloo, Braviary, Unfezant, etc).
OHHHHHHH, you have to close the "Invites Others" every time you change the date to reroll, you can't just change all three dates under one "Invite others". Didn't catch that part >_> So many little things that make this tricky

Just a tip for those of you trying to do this in 2021. Don't subtract 4 from your shiny frame, it doesn't work anymore. Subtract 3 instead. Hope this helps!

I believe it's just so it's easy to make sure you're skipping the correct amount of days and can calculate the correct date to go to. I think you could use the date calculator from today's date and then skip X amount of days from then also but it might be easier to make mistakes.

Yes you can! Although sometimes it takes time to connect locally, as long as your switches are near each other it should work! (I also only have nso on one switch and it works most of the time for me
This, and airplane mode doesn’t work locally so you will have to close the game

Wanna ask so im doing the dudubot route and finally got the code (time was arpund 5 to 8 minutes) so got the code went to the seed checker and theres like 12 different same dens which one do i choose? ( i went to the stony wilderness spot )

Serious question I need to know. In the seed checker, under the ability slot, will it say 3 if it's the hidden ability, or will it say something like HA? So far I haven't had 1 hidden ability seed show up and am wondering if I'm missing something or just being unlucky. Also,its definitely a HA den.

I wonder why it happens. Happened to me only once so far, and that was a few days ago. Setting up a new shiny den today worked without issues, though.
